From un-ticketd fans to bum-rushing the gates and climbing over walls to destruction of the venue, the scenes prior to kick-off were nothing but despicable and an utter failure on the part of organizers. The match was delayed by an hour and twenty-two minutes, but that was the least of the concerns as fans, including children, were bottlenecked and smashed in to areas that quickly became unsafe and unstable under an already unbearable heat. Cardenas describes everything surrounding the experience and delivers his perspective on the events that took place.
