From discussing trauma in group therapy to reflecting on life's strange coincidences— Cliffdiver's journey is as compelling as their music. "Bird Watching" is more than just an album; it's an exploration of peace, healing, and the unbreakable bonds formed through shared experiences. It's a testament to the band's resilience and creativity in the face of adversity. After a near-fatal accident on tour, the band found solace in the simple act of bird watching, which became a central theme for their latest work. The new album will be out SEPT 20 on Side One Dunny Records. CLIFFDIVER is a 7 piece band from Tulsa, Oklahoma. While they write emotional and catchy songs they've also been through a lot as a band. This week Matt talks to Joey about what it's like being in a 7 piece band from the bible belt, Joey opens up and gets deep about his sobriety, we touch on their horrific van crash from 2023, their upcoming tour with The Early November and more. This is probably the deepest and most emotional episode of OurSpace with Matt Vettese yet and I thank Joey so much for opening up the way he did. Please check out more from CLIFFDIVER here: https://cliffdiver.carrd.co/ Check out more from Matt: linktr.ee/mattvts Please remember to rate and review the show if you enjoyed yourself!
Joey Duffy is our guest in this episode from 2019. Michael is invited to speak in front of Ryan's business class, and that should be fine, right? I mean, Michael is taking it a little overly seriously, and he hasn't really prepared, but it's fine. I'm sure it's fine.
It's our last podcast of the year, y'all! And we are putting a big ol' bow on 2023 with Joey Duffy. Not only does Joey bring the rizz* (“charisma,” don't ya know?) to the band CLIFFDIVER, he also is part of the OKPOP crew. We were stoked to sit down with him to learn more about his inspirational journey, and why he thinks OKPOP will empower that next generation of Oklahoma rock stars. You can't help but feel uplifted after sitting down with Joey, so give this episode a listen. It'll feel like a warm hug, we guarantee it!
It's an OKPOPcast Double Feature! First, we have the latest installment from Joey Duffy's “Sound of Oklahoma” where he speaks with local lovebird+songbirds Desi & Cody. Then, we speak to Mike Ayling who has an interesting connection to The Master of Space and Time, Mr. Leon Russell. He shares some stories with us you won't wanna miss!
THE ELECTRICITY IS BACK, AND SO ARE WE! Bouncing back from Tulsa's big storm, your friends at the OKPOP Radio Hour return this week with a new episode... and a special guest - our very own Cinematographer Tyler Mann! This episode we are featuring our second "Sound of Oklahoma" segment, lovingly crafted by OKPOP's Joey Duffy. This week, Joey talks to Tulsa hip-hop artist Steph Simon, Executive Producer of Fire in Little Africa, a multimedia project commemorating the 100th anniversary of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. He also speaks about his Tulsa roots and the love he has for this community, and how the creative spark he had as a kid has transformed into the multifaceted, talented artist he is today. Listen now wherever you get your podcasts, and if you haven't already, be sure to join our OKPOP Radio Hour Facebook group. It's a place to share your love of pop culture, and the creative spirit that makes Oklahoma great.
On this week's episode we catch up Joey Duffy of the pivotal gateway band from Oklahoma, CLIFFDIVER. Joey and I found out that we had a lot more in common than just great music. *Disclaimer* - we get pretty deep on those common bonds, such as military, mental illness, suicide, and addiction. The common theme that we find through all of this is how music saves. CILFFDIVER is the perfect example of a band that on paper might not make sense, but the second you hear their music you go, fuck yeah!!!! If you are looking for a new and exciting band to save your life, CLIFFDIVER is the band you've been searching for. Join Joey and I as we travel to "Gas City" and get "Lost In IKEA" while looking for "Cameron Diaz."Thanks for listening!!! Please Follow us on Instagram @hiddentracks99
On this week's episode, Jaret is confused on what day it is, then they catch up with Joey Duffy from the Tulsa based pop-punk band, Cliffdiver - who they just got off a summer tour with, how much they all love disc golf as well as Joey discusses openly about his battle with depression - all that and more on this week's episode! Don't miss out! The post Joey Duffy (Cliffdiver) appeared first on idobi.

Chef Nico Williams pops by the pod to talk about her wild ride on Hulu's new show, Chefs vs Wild. Dropped off in the middle of nowhere, she had to survive the elements then create a gourmet meal from foraged items. Nico, renowned for her indigenous cooking, also dishes about her biz, Burning Cedar Indigenous Foods. Our own Joey Duffy also talks about being on tour with Tulsa's buzziest band, CLIFFDIVER.
Your trusty OKPOP hosts Meg, Garrett, and Jarrod take you on yet another thrill ride! We chat about the new OKPOP curator; we are closer to “moving that bus!” - the Bob Wills bus is closer to being seaworthy (road-worthy?); and we interview OKPOP's own director of fun and war, Joey Duffy, about his band CLIFFDIVER that is currently touring the country.
So much fun with these two! Briana and Joey get silly and serious as we break down how it all came together for Cliffdiver as they embark on a US tour with Bowling for Soup and Less Than Jake supporting their new album, Exercise Your Demons out now on - Side One Dummy Records! CLIFFDIVER are back and you're gonna be in trouble! I'm so stoked to bring you today my second episode with one of my favorite bands, this time featuring the new voice, and addition to the band, Briana Wright. She, along with co-vocalist Joey Duffy, are giving us the rundown on their debut album, Exercise Your Demons. We of course hit on bringing a second vocalist to the band and how everything just clicked together with it. With deeply personal lyrics being part of CLIFFDIVER's signature style there was definitely some opening up to each other that needed to be done, but once they realized the combined story they were telling they were off the the races. We discuss losing yourself fully to the band and your bandmates, applying your own value to others' lyrics, and the light within some of the darkest moments on the album.
