I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Wednesday, January 20, 2021. This update is sponsored by the Wrestling Mayhem Show. Check out the new episode with special guest Jordan Styles wherever you get your podcasts. We'll have results from last night's AEW Dark in a moment, but first...let's get into last night's Impact Wrestling. (STINGER: Impact) AEW's Private Party are the new #1 contenders for the Impact Tag Team Championships. You heard that right. Private Party and Matt Hardy made a surprise appearance during last night's Impact Wrestling. Later, AEW's Tony Khan and Jerry Lynn also appeared in the Impact Zone. And Lynn got involved in the main event - helping Private Party beat Chris Sabin and the returning “Cowboy” James Storm. The show opened with Don Callis saying he'd be taking a hiatus so he and AEW Champ Kenny Omega can take care of some business in Jacksonville. The case of Who Shot John E. Bravo is solved! It was Taya Valkyrie, who also framed Larry D. She said she did it to stop Rosemary from marrying Bravo..and was hauled away to jail. PWInsider reports Taya's contract is up and that was her last appearance for Impact. Knockouts Champ Deonna Purrazzo delivered a belt shot to Jazz and helped Kimber Lee and Susan beat Jazz and Jordynne Grace. Eric Young submitted Rhino, then he and the rest of Violent By Design continued the steel chair attack on Rhino's leg after the match. Next week's Impact will have Violent By Design's Joe Doering vs. Cousin Jake. Also, Matt Cardona teaming with Josh Alexander against Ace Austin and Madman Fulton... and Tenille Dashwood vs. Rosemary. (STINGER: AEW) One night after their big splash on Impact, Matt Hardy & Private Party are back in action on tonight's AEW Dynamite. They'll take on Matt Sydal and Top Flight. Hangman Page and members of the Dark Order will take on The Hybrid2 and Chaos Project. Page promises to reveal if he will join the Dark Order after the match. Most of the Inner Circle are set for a three-way tag match - Santana & Ortiz vs. Chris Jericho & MJF vs. Jake Hager & Sammy Guevara. AEW says we'll also hear from Omega and Callis on tonight's Dynamite. On last night's Dark, Santana & Ortiz beat Danny Limelight and Jon Cruz. Speaking of Limelight, he's getting more attention after recent matches in AEW and New Japan. But he said he hasn't signed a contract with any promotion...at least not yet. (Limelight No Contract) Limelight speaking with Nick Hausman on The Wrestling Inc. Daily podcast. Heel By Nature first to report that All Elite Wrestling is trying to trademark the term “Too Sweet”. AEW's filing would apply to t-shirts and other apparel. Heel By Nature's report added that WWE filed to trademark the “Too Sweet” hand gesture in 2015, but abandoned the claim in 2017. (STINGER: WWE) Tonight's NXT is loaded with matches in both Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournaments. The first match in the first-ever women's Dusty Classic will see Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter facing Toni Storm & Mercedes Martinez. By the way, the full bracket for the women's tournament will be revealed on Wednesday's episode of The Bump. Tonight in the men's Dusty Classic, there are two first-round matches: Kushida & Leon Ruff vs. Johnny Gargano & Austin Theory and Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner vs. Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado. On top of all that, we're also getting Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher in the FIGHT PIT. WWE Champ Drew McIntyre shed some light on the WrestleMania tickets that will be sold to the public. (McIntyre Mania Tickets) McIntyre speaking with FOX 13 in Tampa. The MLW World Championship is on the line on tonight's Fusion - Jacob Fatu defends against ACH. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Wednesday, January 20. Our next update comes your way tomorrow morning, so be sure to subscribe to this feed. We also thank you in advance for leaving a glowing rating or review.. I'm Matt Carlins. Thank YOU for listening.
