Plastic Found on Deep In O'Keefe's Clothing Matches Karen Read's Taillight - Forensic Bombshell In this critical segment of the Karen Read trial, Massachusetts State Police Crime Lab forensic scientist Christina Hanley delivered testimony that bolsters the prosecution's narrative: that John O'Keefe was struck and left to die—while key trace evidence ties back to Read's SUV. Hanley's testimony focused on three main forensic categories: glass fragments, plastic from the taillight, and debris found in John O'Keefe's clothing. Her analysis confirmed that six out of nine pieces of broken glass recovered from the road (Item 7-12) physically matched a drinking glass (Item 3-2) found shattered at the scene. These were “jigsaw-style” physical matches—clear, visible break lines that could not be coincidental. Crucially, no glass from the bumper of Karen Read's vehicle (Item 3-3) matched the cup. That undercuts any attempt to suggest the bumper glass proves an alternate chain of events. But the prosecution's win didn't end there. Hanley's testimony also tied red and clear plastic found on John O'Keefe's shirt directly back to the passenger-side taillight of Karen Read's SUV. The plastic wasn't just “similar” in color—it was microscopically and instrumentally consistent, meaning it shared the same optical, structural, and chemical characteristics under forensic analysis (including FTIR and microspectrophotometry). Although forensic scientists stop short of declaring a definitive source, “consistency” across multiple scientific instruments is the gold standard in trace evidence—and the jury heard that loud and clear. This detailed forensic testimony is a massive problem for the defense. The physical match confirms O'Keefe was in proximity to the cup and the scene. The trace plastic suggests direct contact with Read's vehicle. Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso, presented by our friends at Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse. It's rivalry weekend in MLS, and it's kind of fitting that Atlanta hosts Philadelphia on Saturday night. Not sure if the league truly sees it as a rivalry, but it's felt that way on the field over the past few years. Philly won 3-0 earlier this season and Atlanta will be trying to build on their draw in Austin from Wednesday night. Philly came back to win 3-2 on a late goal from Tai Baribo against the LA Galaxy on Wednesday. Georgia HS state champions have been crowned the and the season will come to a close tonight in Duluth and in Macon. It's the 2A state championships in Macon, our friend Matteen Rad will be on the call for the NFHS Network there as Drew Charter's boys face Shaw while Pike County's girls play Savannah Arts. Madison Crews and I will be in Duluth for 5A as Roswell's girls try to finish the season unbeaten as they play Northgate while Sprayberry's boys try to knock off top ranked River Ridge. Join us on the NFHS Network starting at 5pm.Barcelona won their 28th La Liga title against their rivals Espanyol as Lamine Yamal scored another brilliant goal. It's a treble year for the Blaugrana as they added to their previously won SuperCopa and Copa del Rey. However, it wouldn't be Barcelona if there were stories about financial silliness. They're trying to get the VIP ticket sale completed that somehow allowed them to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor done in order to help their accounts and salary limit for next season. They're also trying to add CB Dean Huijsen and LB Alvaro Fernandez ahead of the tournament. Inter is trying to add Marseille winger Luis Henrique as well as 3-4 other players for the tournament. They're also trying to win Serie A and the Champions League before that. They host 5th place Lazio this weekend while league leaders Napoli travel to relegation threatened Parma. A win for Napoli combined with a loss for Inter would send the trophy south to Naples. California legislators have been told to expect a deficit of $10 billion or more even if revenues do not fall due to higher than anticipated spending, reports Politico.Critics note that the $10 billion figure matches estimated costs of the state's expansion of eligibility for Medi-Cal, the state's taxpayer-financed health care system, to all income-qualifying illegal immigrants.“What a fiscal coincidence: precisely the estimated cost of Gavin Newsom's plan to extend state Medi-Cal to illegal immigrants,” said Will Swaim, president of the conservative California Policy Center on X.Earlier this week, the state-funded Legislative Analyst's Office warned the state's economy is “stagnant" and “fragile" and that the budget is reliant on an “unsustainable” stock market. Imagine it's a Saturday night, you get a little bored and decide to go on tinder. You swipe and swipe until you see someone that catches your attention. His name is Treshon, he's 26, lives 3 miles away from you, so you message him. Not expecting it to go anywhere, you start to notice this guy is pretty funny, he's charming, maybe this guy is different from the rest. The only odd thing about Treshon is that he's a police officer at the Bernalillo county sheriff's office in Albuquerque, New Mexico. And it's not weird he's a police officer, it's weird because you yourself are also a police officer, working at the Bernalillo county sheriff's office in Albuquerque and never once seen him around despite him claiming to work there for years. When this happened to a female officer for the BCOS, Treshon's tinder profile was flooded with selfies of him in BCOS uniform, gear, vest, badges and gun on his holster. She went into work the next day and showed his tinder profile to her co–workers and none of them recognized him either.
