What an absolute gut-punch at Stade Saputo.Orlando City looked poised to escape Canada with a hard-fought road point, only for a complete mental collapse in stoppage time to hand CF Montréal a 2-0 victory. To make it hurt ten times worse? The daggers were twisted by none other than our own former players.First, Luca Petrasso—whom we let walk—drew the controversial 94th-minute penalty that Daniel Ríos converted. Then, as if that wasn't painful enough, Dagur Dan Thórhallsson—traded away just last December for GAM—comes off the bench to smash an absolute stoppage-time golazo in the 98th minute to seal our doom.On this live episode of Loud and Proud Orlando, we are venting. How does this team beat Inter Miami one week, only to completely lose focus in the final four minutes of the next? We are talking Jansson's penalty, the lack of late-game concentration, and whether our past transfer business is officially coming back to haunt us.Grab a drink, get in the live chat, and let's scream about this one together.#OrlandoCity #MLS #CFMontréal #DagurDan #LucaPetrasso #StoppageTime #OrlandoCitySC #StadeSaputo

Predchádzala tomu niekoľkoročná prax v rôznych korporátnych spoločnostiach," hovorí Róbert Palka, spolumajiteľ firmy A.N.J.distribution. V súčasnosti firma vlastní výrobné závody v Šali a Sečovciach, pričom mesačná kapacita na proteínové tyčinky dosahuje 1,8 milióna kusov – a dopyt ju stále prevyšuje. Aktuálne výrobné kapacity nestačia pokryť dopyt, preto firma plánuje investíciu cez 2,5 milióna eur do novej tyčinkovej linky v Šali a viac ako 1 milión eur do modernizácie čipsovej výroby. „Nebol to plán – postaviť firmu takýchto rozmerov.
Daily Halacha Podcast - Daily Halacha By Rabbi Eli J. Mansour
The Mishna at the end of Masechet Menahot (110a) teaches: "Ehad Ha'marbeh Ve'ehad Ha'mam'it, U'bilbad She'yechaven Libo La'Shamayim" – "Whether one does much or one does little, as long as he directs his heart toward Heaven." The point made by the Mishna is that the most important factor is not the amount that one actually manages to accomplish, but rather the extent to which he maximizes his potential and does his best. A person who is able to learn six hours a day is not necessarily greater than a person who is able to learn just one hour day, as these two individuals might face very different circumstances. If the first individual learns for six hours but has the ability to learn even more, whereas the second only has an hour for learning and takes full advantage of that hour, then the second is greater than the first. This is true also of scholarly achievement, charity, Hesed, community involvement, and so on. Not everyone is in the position to do the same amount. Every individual has his unique set of strengths, weaknesses, talents, struggles, challenges and circumstances, and no two people's expectations are thus exactly alike. The most important thing is "She'yechaven Libo La'Shamayim" – that one sincerely invests the greatest effort that he can and achieves to the very best of his ability. Hacham Ovadia Yosef noted that the word "Leb" ("heart") consists of the letters Lamed and Bet. These two letters are preceded by the letters Kaf and Alef – which spell the word "Ach" ("only"), and are followed by the letters Mem and Gimal – which spell the word "Gam." Now the Gemara teaches us that the word "Ach" implies a "Mi'ut," an exclusion, and when it appears in the Torah in the context of a Halacha, it indicates that something is excluded from the law in question. Conversely, the word "Gam" implies a "Ribui," an extension, that the law includes something that we might not have expected it to. The word "Leb" is thus "surrounded" by both "Marbeh" and "Mam'it," by an allusion to a large amount and an allusion to a smaller amount. This reinforces the notion that the most important thing is the heart, one's sincerity, one's genuine quest for excellence and devoted efforts to do the most he can. This – and not the bottom-line result – is what matters to Hashem and what should matter to us.

The people and policies that control how humans treat the natural world are increasingly dominated by a small class of elite political entities and corporations, argues our guest, political ecologist Bram Buscher at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, on this week's Newscast. This power, he says, is concentrated on platforms that have no allegiance to fact or truth, but rather serve only what increases their bottom line. Understanding this power dynamic and speaking truth to it is essential for the environmental movement to succeed. "If you keep on doing the same kind of things and not take the root causes, the root structural forms of power into account, you may have nice terms like nature-based solutions, ecosystem services, natural capital, but they don't actually challenge the power structures to change," he says. That structure he refers to as "platform capitalism." Tasks humans used to do through various options or pathways are now gate-kept by tech companies. These companies have monopolized these platforms, including social media, generative artificial intelligence, and search engines that prioritize data collection over sincere citizen engagement. This makes it difficult for the environmental movement's message to find an open audience. In some cases, people cannot tell the difference between what is real and what is not anymore. Buscher has written his thoughts in his book The Truth About Nature: Environmentalism in the Era of Post-Truth Politics and Platform Capitalism, which explains why "speaking facts to power" does not fundamentally change the policies currently failing the environment. Speaking truth to power, Buscher argues, is the only way to truly address the root causes of environmental destruction. "Unless we understand how power works … also authoritarian power … we can't go beyond it and or speak truth to it. To do something deliberately and consciously different." Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for March 12, 2026 is: gambit GAM-bit noun A gambit is something done or said in order to gain an advantage or to produce a desired effect. // The workers' opening gambit in the negotiations was to demand a wage hike. See the entry > Examples: “Now the book publishing industry has sent a message to all A.I. companies: Our intellectual property isn't yours for the taking, and you cannot act with impunity. This settlement is an opening gambit in a critical battle that will be waged for years to come.” — Andrea Bartz, The New York Times, 1 Oct. 2025 Did you know? Don't let the similarities of sound and general flavor between gambit and gamble trip you up; the two words are unrelated. Gambit first appeared in English in a 1656 chess handbook that was said to feature almost a hundred illustrated gambetts. Gambett traces back first to the Spanish word gambito, and before that to the Italian gambetto, from gamba meaning “leg.” Gambetto referred to the act of tripping someone, as in wrestling, in order to gain an advantage. In chess, gambit (or gambett, as it was once spelled) originally referred to a chess opening whereby the bishop's pawn is intentionally sacrificed—or tripped—to gain an advantage in position. Gambit is now applied to many other chess openings, but after being pinned down for years, it also finally broke free of chess's hold and is used generally to refer to any “move,” whether literal or rhetorical, done to get a leg up, so to speak. While such moves can be risky, gambit is not synonymous with gamble, which likely comes from Old English gamen, meaning “amusement, jest, pastime”—source too of game.

Hello Colorado Rapids fans. This week on Holding The High Line, we talk about the Rapids War Chest of GAM, CRYSC, and more. The guys recap the 4-1 win over LA Galaxy. There were so many standout performances, namely Darren Yapi and captain Rafael Navarro. The game was affected significantly by an injury and the red card. Are there underlying tactical concerns still for Matt Wells and the Pids? We discuss. Then we have a roundtable on a bunch of topics. Mark has an update on this year's podcast merch. Matt gives some updates for Denver Summit as they kickoff their expansion season in NWSL. We talk MLS suspending players for life for betting and the underlying hypocrisy in that. Then we chat about the updated MLS GAM number. How should the Rapids fill their two open U22 slots and should Darren Yapi's contract extension fit in there? Red also talks about why the Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club and Colorado Soccer Association news isn't as bad as some have thought. Then we preview Colorado's game at Yankees Stadium against New York City FC. Oh, and Bill from Missourah asks us what engineering and Torah concepts the Pids are. For the Glory KC is back with the 170th episode of the show!Sporting Kansas City came up short against San Diego FC on Saturday, but it was a game full of promise. Sheena and I break down the beats of the game that stood out to us, starting with the stellar goalkeeping of John Pulskamp. We also went over the lineup (Jansen Miller was the only change with Ian James popping up on the injury report), including the loans from SKC II (that thankfully didn't prevent those guys from playing against the Real Monarchs on Sunday). We also talked about the chippy, card-heavy nature of the game. San Diego were flopping like dead fish, and the ref was buying everything. However, it was SD that got the most cards though they did keep all 11 guys on the field despite a dicey foul against Manu Garcia that had Dejan Joveljic coming to his aid.We also did SKC tidbits on the Capita transfer rumors, Johnny Russell's new landing spot and the immense amount of GAM in Sporting KC's coffers. The KC Current made news this week with an unfortunate update on the health of Lo LaBonta, the team adding two players on short-term deals and being the 2nd most valuable NWSL team in the league according to Sportico. In the Digital Crawl, we hit on a few more topics, including:KS AstrasUSWNT Win the SheBelieves CupColumbus NWSL ExpansionSophia Wilson returnsHere is a rundown of topics and start times:Sporting KC -KC Current -Digital Crawl -Upcoming Games:KC Current vs. Utah Royals, SAT March 14 at 4:00PM CTSporting KC @ LA Galaxy, SAT March 14 at 9:30PM CTAs a special gift to For the Glory KC listeners and KC Soccer Journal readers, Backheeled.com is giving away 30 days of their amazing, independent American soccer coverage for free.
