Lea's out this week so we were hashtag blessed to have our beautiful graphic designer BLORB with us! And she cornholed with the best of them. We talked all the important stuff — Pokemon, Ultimatum Queer Love, and what to look in the mirror and take off before you leave the house. In wrestling news, Hangman brought Mox to another sexual completion, MJF and the Hurt Syndicate continue to do the most pointless work of anyone's life, and was there some kind of gas leak on Collision? Because the deranged energies that wrestlers reached were beyond anything we've seen (complimentary). Today we jump back five years to the July 23 and 30 episodes of "All Elite Aftershow" with Mike McMahon and Andrew Soucek.First, they discussed a crazy tag team match between The Young Bucks and Butcher and the Blade, as well as the main event with Jurassic Express fighting Chris Jericho and Jake Hager. Then they take emails! This week we get our long-awaited answer on the Batcave, and take emails on AEW, Brian Cage, Impact, Slammiversary, and a lot more.Second, they discussed the Wrestle House segments from Impact Wrestling this past week. Then it was a lot of AEW-related topics and emails, including the introduction of Ariane and Matt Cardona on AEW TV, whether or not AEW should try to re-form LAX in some form, and whether or not they should target some lapsed pro wrestling trademarks.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/pwtorch-dailycast--3276210/support.
Welcome to Wrestling Tonight: Chad returns with Acefield Retro for your weekly deep dive into WWE, AEW, NJPW, TNA, and everything in between. On July 24, 2025, the wrestling world lost its most recognizable icon. Terry Bollea, Hulk Hogan passed away at the age of 71, leaving behind a legacy as towering as his persona. From Saturday morning cartoons to WrestleMania main events, Hogan was the face that launched wrestling into pop culture. But his story is as complicated as it is influential. This week, we reflect on the full scope of Hogan's life, the glory, the controversy, and the impact that can still be felt across every locker room in the world. WWE opened SmackDown with a ten-bell salute. NJPW honored him during G1 Climax. TNA, where he wrestled his final match, dedicated an entire broadcast in his memory. And yet, as the tributes poured in, so did the uncomfortable reminders of the man behind the myth. We break it all down: – The reverence and reckoning: how fans, wrestlers, and promoters are responding – Hogan's final weeks, his real cause of death, and conflicting reports that preceded it – A career that spanned generations — from Hulkamania to the nWo and beyond – A legacy not easily defined, but impossible to ignore Also this week:
In a new Spotlight Benno & JP talk the passing of Hulk Hogan as they delve into the good, the bad and the very ugly aspects of both the man and the wrestler, as well as their own thoughts and memories of him, with a look at how the wrestling world and wider has responded to his death, with some of the more bizarre memoriums presented by AI.They also talk the awaited debut of WWE Unreal on Netflix as well as some SummerSlam numbers and more, plus AEW Forbidden Door sales, final All In numbers, Collision, Dynamite, the G1 and much more.SHOWNOTES0:00 Intro, Hulk Hogan1:22:16 WWE Unreal, WWE news, SummerSlam1:47:41 AEW Forbidden Door, All In, Collision, Dynamite2:00:57 Rev Pro Summer Sizzler, G1 ClimaxGRAPPL Spotlight is produced with support from our Patrons and YouTube members, with special thanks to Patreon Kings and Queen Of The Mountain - Conor O'Loughlin, Eddie Sideburns, Chris Platt, Carl Gac, Sophia Hitchcock, Simon Mulvaney & Marty Ellis! Our guest today on the podcast is singer, actress, and songwriting royalty—Bonnie McKee. The Seattle-born artist has built a devoted following for her own music, including her long-lost sophomore album Hot City, which she finally re-recorded and released in 2024 after discovering a massive online fan campaign. But beyond her own work, Bonnie is one of the most prolific and celebrated pop songwriters of the past two decades. With over 200 billion streams on songs she's penned, her credits include some of the biggest hits of the modern era:Teenage Dream and Roar by Katy Perry, Dynamite by Taio Cruz, and tracks for artists like Kesha, Britney Spears, and Kelly Clarkson. In today's episode, we sit down with Bonnie to talk about her songwriting journey—from what first drew her to writing, to how she now mentors the next generation. We dive into the wild story behind Hot City, how it was shelved, resurrected by fans, and finally reclaimed by her. Plus, we hear some incredible behind-the-scenes insight into co-writing Teenage Dream, one of the most iconic pop songs of the 21st century.Bonnie McKee : Instagram / Spotify Find tour dates and more information about Bonnie McKee hereVisit our official website here and follow us across our socials.

On episode 299 of the AwardsWatch Podcast, it's an all editors show as Editor-In-Chief Erik Anderson, Executive Editor Ryan McQuade and Associate Editor Sophia Ciminello look at the wealth of fall festival lineup announcements that came in this week from Venice and Toronto. In the pod, the trio start with Venice, which will be the kickoff of no less than three Netflix titles: Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, Noah Baumbach's Jay Kelly and the return of Kathryn Bigelow with A House of Dynamite. Mona Fastvold, fresh off The Brutalist last year (with her partner Brady Corbet), has The Testament of Ann Lee with Amanda Seyfried, something has all of us buzzing. Then there's The Smashing Machine from Benny Safdie and starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt. We also dig into the Out of Competition titles, specifically Luca Guadagnino's After the Hunt, which has some internet folks thinking it means something more than it does. Onto TIFF, always the most helpful as specific designations are listed for each film, we talk about Rental Family starring Brendan Fraser, Sydney Sweeney in Christy and where the big Cannes winners from NEON and MUBI, like Sentimental Value, It Was Just an Accident, The Secret Agent, Sirāt and Sound of Falling landed. Red Sonja, the classic fiery red-haired warrior, is having quite a moment in 2025. With a feature film set to release on August 15th and a new comic book series, Sonja Reborn, launching on August 6th, it's time for a whole new generation to discover this fierce character. Jace is joined by Luke Lieberman to talk a bit about the film, its cast, and the plans for Red Sonja at SDCC 2025. Luke has long been involved with the character, having served as her steward for many years. This entails shepherding her through various projects, such as the upcoming film, but also in comics. On that front, just before the film is released, Dynamite is launching a new series written by legendary comics writer Christopher Priest. It will be a great jumping-on point for fans who may have never read about Sonja's adventures in comic form before. There's plenty in the series for longtime Red Sonja fans as well — not the least of which is artist Alessandro Miracolo's gorgeous linework. Check out the episode for more details, including SDCC plans!
