Let's give Bass Patrol their flowers Bass Patrol was a Miami Bass group signed to Jose Armada Jr.'s Joey Boy Records, although technically, two separate groups. The first Bass Patrol made waves with their debut album Rock this Planet in 1988. The sound was a vocoder-driven Electro Bass album released on the heels of the era's successful tracks by similarly themed acts Dynamix II, Maggotron, and MC A.D.E. The project seemed to be spearheaded by Calvin and Carlton Mills, Joey Boy Records' in-house production team (also known as Rock Force), and featured Miami area radio DJ Eddy Mix. As this entity, Bass Patrol released little else and found limited success. Joey Boy Records was known to own acts' names and reassign them to new groups. In this case, the label signed Orlando area producer DJ Fury and rapper RX Lord, then assigned them the Bass Patrol moniker. The duo was far less Electro-oriented. Similar to Tampa Bay area Quad Force, this incarnation of Bass Patrol bridged the car audio bass scene and the 3rd wave "booty bass" scene when they released the album Kings of Bass in 1992 as the label attempted to cash in on the marketing formula that made DJ Magic Mike the commercial success within the Bass scene. The act's success, and the label's loss of Rock Force, caused DJ Fury to become somewhat of a replacement in-house producer, as well as a solo artist. As Bass Patrol, he continued to produce several albums for the label until Jose Armada Jr. slimmed down operations before finally revamping his group of labels into a Gospel music outfit. DJ Fury continues to make music today for his own Full Moon Music, although not under the Bass Patrol name. Maggotron - That's My Man Throwing Extended Edit By Mr. Turner Free DL Here: https://hypeddit.com/track/8c6tc1 Maggotron (born James McCauley, and also known as DXJ, Maggozulu 2, Planet Detroit and Bass Master Kahn) is one of the pioneers of Bass music. He uses samples from many sources, and is influenced by Parliament, Funkadelic and Earth Wind and Fire among others. In 2000, he worked together with his former engineer Bass Mekanik on the album Bass Alien – Tales from the Lo-Zone. In 2001, he mixed and compiled a CD featuring Miami bass classics for empirewerks music: Super Bass – Original Old School Booty Shakers. The same year, his compilation Electro Jamz from the Vaults of Jamron Records brought Miami bass and electro tracks from his early days as a producer and performer. Due to pressure from Pandisc Records, the humour in his later work for Pandisc became less notable. DXJ's earlier work was characterised by its humorous approach, which can also be seen in his use of pseudonyms. Musically, DXJ's music is characterised by its use of electro/bass beats and rock guitars, as well as vocal samples from all kinds of sources. Cultural and ethnic diversity are also part of the fabric of Maggotron's sound. Men and women of various nationalities have helped work to achieve the sound that Maggotron is noted for. Internationally known, DXJ'S Contributions to Miami Bass, Electro or Street Music has influenced Break beat, Crunk, Ghetto Tech and other genres of music. Miami Bass/Electro itself is a hybrid branch of the Hip Hop /Electro Music genre/style.

In this episode, called "The Miami Bass and Freestyle Explosion," I give you exactly what the title says. This mix is a perfect example of what many of the mixtapes DJ Joey Mas and I used to make back in the day in the Bassment Studios in Northeast Philly. I had more fun making this podcast that I can ever explain, and I hope you have half as much fun listening to it as I did making it. The mixes, as always, are perfect. No trainwrecks here, unlike many of the other jokester podcasts I have listened to. Thanks for the many great e-mails. Keep sending them to me at slybri102@yahoo.com and give me your questions, comments, or requests. Many more people have downloaded my podcasts than I originally thought would, which I appreciate very much. The track list for this podcast is as follows: Techmaster P.E.B.
