Scissors, spiral notebooks, cultural taboos — lefties have it rough. Jessica Wynn explores why 10% of us are southpaws here on Skeptical Sunday.Welcome to Skeptical Sunday, a special edition of The Jordan Harbinger Show where Jordan and a guest break down a topic that you may have never thought about, open things up, and debunk common misconceptions. This time around, we're joined by writer and researcher Jessica Wynn!Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1272On This Week's Skeptical Sunday:Left-handedness isn't controlled by a single gene — it's a cocktail of genetics, prenatal environment, and random brain development. The rare gene variant TUBB4B shows up three times more often in lefties, but even identical twins sharing 100% of their DNA can have different dominant hands.Your handedness was essentially decided before you were born. Ultrasound studies reveal fetuses showing consistent hand preferences by 18 weeks — those who suck their left thumb in the womb typically become left-handed. Your fetal position and which direction you turned your head may have sealed your southpaw fate.Left-handers possess a larger corpus callosum — the neural bridge connecting both brain hemispheres — enabling faster communication between the two sides. This biological quirk gives lefties advantages in multitasking, creative problem-solving, and activities requiring rapid information processing like video gameCultural conditioning has historically punished left-handedness, associating it with everything from uncleanliness to witchcraft. Schools once forced children to switch hands, and in some cultures today, using your left hand for eating remains taboo — a lingering echo of pre-toilet paper hygiene practices.Celebrate your brain's beautiful asymmetry — whether you're a lefty or righty. Try using your non-dominant hand for everyday tasks on August 13th (International Left-Handers Day) to appreciate how deeply ingrained handedness really is. It's a humbling reminder of how wonderfully weird human development can be.Connect with Jordan on Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. Visual organisation comes next, with auto-colouring tracks, regions, and markers to make large sessions readable at a glance.Timing and arrangement get a boost using Groove Track and Flex, aligning stacked vocals quickly while keeping performances natural. Happy New Year, HOFS! Uncle Eddie, Billy, Ricky (The Slickster), and Joe are back to ring in 2026 with the usual unfiltered chaos. We kick off the year by crowning the 2025 Deadpool Bingo champions—Eddie claims the Triple Crown, but Billy might have something to say about that "tie" for first place. On this week's show: Mr. Hollywood in the House: We sit down with the legendary James Bartholet. From his roots in mainstream Broadway and soaps like General Hospital to becoming an adult industry titan and horror movie producer, James talks about his slasher franchise Scissors, his new Roku channel, and gives some very specific advice on why you should never cook in a crockpot while naked. The Philly Shakedown: Longtime friend of the show Constantine (Connie) from the Kid Chris Show calls in to recount his harrowing (and hilarious) story of getting mugged for $80 in Philadelphia. Did he give up the cash, or did he hold it in his "prison wallet"? NFL Wild Card Edition: The "Football Perfect Picks" are back! The crew breaks down the Wild Card matchups, including the Rams vs. Panthers and a cold-weather showdown between the Packers and the Bears. The Basement: Ricky takes us downstairs for a special 2026 debut of The Basement. This week, we count down the most romantic singers of all time—from the velvet tones of Luther Vandross and Al Green to the powerhouse vocals of Whitney Houston and the "Walrus of Love" himself, Barry White. Weather with a Legend: Nova Scotia's finest, Frankie McDonald, drops in to give us the global outlook for the week and invites the crew to come perform at the Capri Club in Sydney, NS. Plus, we talk about Trump's plan for Greenland, the Maduro/Diddy prison connection, and the launch of the brand-new January "Ham Skull" T-shirt. Free speech is never silent—so speak the f* up!**

Day one of the Adrian Gonzales trial ended in chaos. The judge halted testimony, sent the jury home, and canceled Wednesday's proceedings after the defense accused prosecutors of withholding evidence from a key witness. Defense attorney Jason Goss called it a "trial by ambush." A mistrial is now on the table. Before it fell apart, the jury heard gut-wrenching testimony. Gilbert Limones, a funeral home worker across the street from Robb Elementary, described watching the gunman fire into classroom windows while walking "very nonchalantly." He told jurors Gonzales' police vehicle drove past the shooter before he entered the building. His 911 calls were played in court — a man screaming for help, invoking God, begging police to save the children.Teacher Stephanie Hale testified that staff tried to barricade their classroom with an extension cord and grabbed scissors to fight. When the kids were finally evacuated, Hale noticed they'd armed themselves too. Fourth graders holding safety scissors. She said both her back pockets were full of scissors by the time it was over.Prosecutor Bill Turner's refrain echoed through the courtroom: "Adrian Gonzales remains." The defense says he did what he could. The families say he failed their children. Now no one knows if this trial will even continue.#HiddenKillers #AdrianGonzales #UvaldeTrial #RobbElementary #TrueCrime #Uvalde #Mistrial #Justice #SchoolShooting #BreakingJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISDOES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Sisters and Cousins: A Simple Way to Know Where Everything BelongsOne of the biggest challenges in organising isn't the sorting or the tidying — it's that moment when you're holding something in your hand thinking, “But where should this actually live?”If you've ever felt that, you're not alone. And I want to share a little framework I use that might make things instantly clearer for you: I call it Sisters and Cousins.Sisters: Same-Same ItemsWhen I say “sisters,” I'm talking about items that are exactly the same. Think about all your teaspoons, or all your bed sheets, or all your scissors. These are sisters — the same family, the same purpose. Sisters belong together, usually in the same drawer, the same shelf, or the same container. And here's the beautiful part: you already do this without thinking. When you bring home a new teaspoon, you don't wander around wondering where it should live. You automatically place it with its sisters. The system already works for you — you just may not have had language for it before.Cousins: Same-Same, But DifferentCousins are items that aren't identical, but they make sense together in real life. Scissors and sticky tape. Light bulbs and batteries. Towels and sheets. These aren't sisters… but they definitely belong in the same neighbourhood because your brain naturally looks for them together. When you think in cousins, you make your home work for you. If you use sticky tape and scissors together all the time, keeping them side-by-side isn't just logical — it saves you time and reduces frustration.Your Use Determines the Cousin GroupThis is the part I love most: cousins can change depending on your lifestyle. A camping chair might belong with camping gear… unless you use it weekly at kids' sport, or for beach days, or for picnics. The best home for something is the place where you look first — not where the item “should” go.Try Asking Yourself Two QuestionsNext time you're stuck deciding where something lives, pause for just a moment and ask:Where are its sisters?Where are its cousins? You might be surprised how quickly the answer comes. And with that clarity, your home becomes easier to maintain, easier to navigate, and ultimately… so much more freeing.Join our community Leave a Google ReviewFollow me on InstagramFollow me on FacebookJoin my Facebook groupLeave a review on Apple PodcastThank you to my sound engineer, Jarred from Four4ty Studio. This week's guest, Glen Rollason, describes pattern making as the architecture of fashion. It's the bones, the structure, the technical process that gives our clothes shape, moves them from the 2D to the 3D, and helps them fit. Pattern making is drafting, design, and highly skilled technical process - but it's also team work. No pattern, no coat! From the basics (what is it, where do you begin) to the artistry (fit, form, allure) through Raf Simons, bust darts and the crazy complexity of national sizing standards, we've got it all in this dynamic conversation about this essential fashion ingredient. Plus, why do we need to keep capacity on shore? How might small factories / design labs work in future? What's going on with apprenticeships, and what are we going to do about skilled people ageing out of the industry?Scissors at the ready!Thank you for listening to Wardrobe Crisis.Find links and further reading for this episode at thewardrobecrisis.comRead Clare's columns & support the show on Substack - wardrobecrisis.substack.comTell us what you think. My guest today is Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Dylan Sevey, best known for his work with The Minks, Ron Gallo, Aaron Lee Tasjan, and the incredible Weird Al Yankovic tribute band Weird Pals. Dylan joins me to discuss Weird Al's 1999 masterpiece 'Running With Scissors'. We chat about the entirely unique place Weird Al has carved for himself within the music industry, how he laid the cultural ground work for future musical comedy acts, the depth of respect and research he puts into each genre he parodies, the origin story of Weird Pals, how at its core Yankovic's catalogue is a celebration of all genres of music, the extraordinary art of the Weird Al polka, and how both a Weird Al concert and a Weird Pals show provides a level of musical breadth and diversity you're unlikely to experience elsewhere. For those attending Weird Al Yankovic's show at Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville on Sept 20, Weird Pals will be playing an after party gig across the road at Acme Feed & Seed after the show. We'll see you there!
Welcome back to the Working Perspectives Podcast! In this brand new, exciting episode, the three hosts are turning the show into a game show! Each host has brought a current news story, but there's a catch: they've intentionally left out key details. Can the other two hosts guess who the story is about, where it took place, the age of the person, or the surprising outcome? This week's stories are as wild as they come and they're from all over the world. We've got a surgeon who goes to extreme lengths to become an amputee, a family member who gets revenge with a pair of scissors, and a tale about someone biting the head off of a snake. The guesses are wild, the deductions are hilarious, and the real stories behind the headlines are often stranger than fiction. Tune in to find out who's the best at "Guessing the News" and let us know in the comments if you'd like to play along at home!
John and Mr. Phil discussed the upcoming documentary about Postal, the legacy foretold, and Vince Desi's involvement. They reminisced about their personal computing experiences and the evolution of technology over the years, concluding with a planned interview with producers Tad and Jason.

Mike shares insights into his actual cloning technique where he emphasizes the need for proper clone placement and depth. He explains how plugs hold water at a certain "table level" in your clone dome, and where you should be placing your cuts to allow them to take up water and nutrients. This leads a conversation about optimal moisture levels, and Mike. drops some tips on using weight as a metric of moisture. Mike also talks about using household alternatives to clone gels like aloe and willow bark extract- and why IBA is still the best choice for home growers. Mike wraps up the show by talking about caring for many many clones at once, and how the difficulty of cloning goes as the amount of genetics increases. Join GrowCast Membership TODAY!
