Kendt fra ”Boogie Wonderland” og deres egen ”Best of My Love”, men hvor godt kender du egentlig The Emotions.

Now here's your hosts, Allen Hall, Joel Saxum, Phil Totaro, and Rosemary Barnes. Allen Hall: To start off the week, Joel and I have just completed a couple of days that. ACP OMS in Nashville, Tennessee. And if you don't know where Nashville is in the center ish of the country, more towards the eastern part than the western part. It's the same state where it Davey Crockett came from Daniel Boone. Am I right about that, Joel? Sergeant York, Andrew Jackson. Yeah. This is some old names. Yeah, it's right next to, actually next to North Carolina. So we're like I don't know, an hour's drive from North Carolina with the area that got hit with hurricane a couple of months ago. We're not very far from it. But Nashville, the event was pretty well populated. I was trying to relate it to the OM and S event that happened in San Diego a year ago. It felt like it was a little bit smaller of an event, Joel, and maybe the attendance was a little bit lower. Joel Saxum: Yeah, the interesting, we were at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center. It's absolutely massive. I learned today that it's the largest like resort convention center without a casino in the entire world. Like it felt like he walked like a mile through the inside of the thing to get to it. Like the conference center. What I think the issue there was, or what it felt like, is it didn't feel like it was as well attended as it was last year. A lot of ISPs, so a lot of blade repair companies, a lot of service companies, all floating around, not as many operators, but my thought is we're used to having this thing in San Diego. It was 40 degrees and raining today. And in San Diego every year it's like 75, 80 degrees. Beautiful. Everything is fantastic. People bring their families and stuff like that. So you hear a lot of people, oh yeah, I can't grab dinner tonight. I got, my, my wife and kids we're gonna go do this. When you're in the San Diego event here, not so much. 'cause it's, there's live music that's great that but it, you're also 20 minutes from downtown. It is a little bit of a different feel. But yeah the show floor. Of course, Allen and you and I took a couple laps around it and Claire, our producer as well. We took a couple laps around to see what was there. A lot of the same players that we're used to seeing a lot of the same companies. Nothing super new that stuck out. Nothing groundbreaking, however. A couple cool things, right? We sat down, I think we rec, we recorded a bunch of great material with some of our podcast friends and people new to the podcast at the thing. You'll hear those in the coming weeks, of course. But we did get to look at the Earth next platform from Earth Wind. That was really cool. Also the Gulf Wind Technology team was there and they were show showcasing their up tower root bushing repair. That was really cool. Other than that, ah, c nnc onsite, right? The ability to do precision machining up tower, which is really neat.

The fab four's fourth fab album, Beatles for Sale, isn't just absolutely freaking underrated. It offers perhaps the last of their comparatively-less-ubiquitous knockout tunes. Side 2 illustrates this point perfectly, where just about Every Little Thing is magical*. (*May not include cover songs!) And yet, the UBP's very own Tony “Dave Dexter Junior, Junior” Mendoza wants to make this album even better. How will he do this you may ask? That's why you literally have to listen! (No, really this time we're not f**king around.) Spoiler alert: just when the “lawyers” said Rush and The Beatles was too legally sick of a collab, The Spirit of Hard Rock Radio on WFUK - Your Home for Appleton Foxes Baseball - proves that in Tony's world, the timeless wavelengths remain, well, timeless. And also, wavelengths. You can't spoil a UBP “Beatles For Sale” party, because a UBP “Beatles For Sale” party don't spoil! Oy, unless it's too hot at this meshugana picnic! Which one of you shcmucks brought egg salad, it's a thousand degrees out here!? And also:
This episode of Famous Lost Words is dedicated to legendary Canadian broadcaster John Donabie, who passed away a few days ago. John’s interviews have been prominently featured on Famous Lost Words and he also joined us on a couple of occasions to share his incredible stories. And great broadcaster and a wonderful man, John Donabie will be missed. For this, the last episode of season 10, we have quite a collection of artists. First up is a rather feisty 1988 interview with Canadian legend Gordon Lightfoot. We already have lots of Lightfoot content in the archives, which we put together for our tribute to him upon his passing in 2023 – one of our most listened to episodes. But we came across this 1988 interview just a few days ago – and it’s a good one. Gord is looking back on his career as he approaches his 50th birthday. But Lightfoot is pretty spirited in this chat with Gord James. Next up is a fascinating chat with Todd Rundgren. We’re date stamping these clips at about 1979 as Todd talks about his solo music, his work with the band Utopia and his fascination with new technology, including the early days of music videos. This guy’s mind never stops. Then we have an early ‘80s chat with Pat Benatar as she chats with broadcaster Ingrid Schumacher about life on the road and the price of fame. Plus, we have a special bonus cut as Pat ponders her long-term influence on other aspiring musicians. And we finish up with some Cool Song Facts, and we run the gamut here – with information spanning centuries, from Beethoven to Paul Simon to Earth Wind & Fire. Famous Lost Words, hosted by Christopher Ward and Tom Jokic, is heard in more than 100 countries worldwide and on radio stations across Canada, including Newstalk 1010 Toronto, CJAD 800 Montreal, 580 CFRA Ottawa, AM 800 CKLW Windsor, 610 CKTB St Catharines, CFAX Victoria, AM1150 Kelowna and 91x in Belleville. It is in the Top 20% of worldwide podcasts based on the number of listeners in the first week.
Maybe the name Jerry Hey doesn't ring any bells for you. But, you've been listening to songs that Jerry has played his trumpet on or has arranged for probably your entire life. He became one of Quincy Jones' main studio guys. He arranged strings on "Billie Jean," played on Brothers Johnson and Earth Wind & Fire and George Benson albums, that's him on Dolly's "9 to 5," and he's been on a ton of TV and movie soundtracks (yep, that's him on the CHiPs theme song). And, since I'm reengineering the "Seven Degrees of Kevin Bacon" to "Seven Degrees of Dan Fogelberg"....that's Jerry on the flugelhorn for the "Longer" solo. Guess how many takes it took to nail that solo?Check out other episodes at RecordsRevisitedPodcast.com or one all your favorite podcast providers like Apple Podcasts, Castbox, iHeartMedia, and Spotify. Join Yasi and Steven, along with Athletes and the Arts co-founder Randy Dick, as we talk to the quintessential Athlete and Artist, Tim Cunningham. He turned down a chance to play in the NFL to pursue a career as a professional jazz musician. Thirty years later, after recording 8 albums and touring all over the world, he is still going strong. He talks about the difficulty playing Division 1 football, maintaining his passion for music over the years, and staying healthy while playing the sax.Tim's website: www.timcunninghammusic.comInstagram: @tim.cunninghamsaxophonistFacebook: @TimCunninghamMusicPageBio: When Tim Cunningham was faced with the choice between the football field or the musical stage, fortunately he chose the latter. Having played the saxophone for over half his life, Tim spent his college years at Michigan State splitting his time between playing defense and playing music. And although a football scholarship saw him through school, his passion for the sax has carried him well beyond, as he passed up an NFL contract and eventually pursued a career in music. For decades the words "smooth , sultry, cool & funky" have been used to describe Tim's high energy and emotional stage show as his sexy blend of smooth jazz and soulful R&B connects with people of all ages, races and genres of music. This unique and versatile style has earned Tim the pleasure of opening for jazz greats Dave Koz, Norman Brown, Brian Culbertson and George Benson. On the flip side, his bumpin' R&B flavor has on occasion paired him with Earth Wind & Fire, Cameo, Boyz II Men, Patti Labelle, Frankie Beverly, Jeffrey Osborne, and the late Luther Vandross.Signed to Atlantic Records in 1994 Tim's first major label release, "Right Turn Only," featuring the efforts of Will Downing, Brian Culbertson, Kevin Whalum, and Bobby Lyle was released in 1996. It's featured single, "This is the Life," hit #19 on the Smooth Jazz Chart and received much international airplay. Tim's additional CD credits include "Sax Change Operation", "A Change in Altotude", "Waiting For Love", "Inner Peace", and "Manchester Road" which was picked up by Nite Breeze Music/Universal in 2008. His 2011 release entitled "Reflection", features a cool collection of original tracks packed with smooth grooves and emotional ballads. In 2012 Tim recorded and released "Tim Cunningham Live" where he covered a collection of some of his favorite songs. In 2019 Tim hosted and performed in the 1st Annual Smooth Jazz Cruise on Land in St. Louis. This inaugural festival featured Brian Culbertson, Eric Darius, Grace Kelly and Erin Bode and was produced by Entertainment Cruises Productions and producers of the Smooth Jazz Cruise.Tim's experiences bridge beyond the live stage to TV as he co-wrote and performed the theme song to 20th Century Fox's "Bertice Berry Show". He also appeared in the movie, "The Ghost Who Walks" as Officer Taylor, three episodes of "The Untouchables" TV series as The Saxophonist, BET's "Jazz Central and a commercial spot for Budweiser. In 2021 "Smile" co-written with Al Caldwell from Tim's "Waiting for Love" CD was featured in the movie, "The Job" written, directed and produced by Randy J. Goodwin. In October 2022, after nearly a 10 year recording hiatus "Freedom" was released, with his new single, "Enough Said" (remix) climbing the Smooth Jazz Network , Radio Wave and Smoothjazz.com charts.

Can you feel the sense of dread just thinking about that time in your life when something went horribly wrong and everything you had planned was totally shot to hell? And what's worse? The fear of criticism and rebuke from those you count on to be part of your support network or their well-intentioned comments that don't do a damned thing to help and actually make you feel worse?Lilah Jones faced these questions when she got ripped off for thousands of dollars and almost lost her new house just when she had it in the bag.For Lilah, her values are so important she lists them on her website: heart-centered hustle, authenticity, bold action, active listening, holistic well-being, and self-actualization. The first three were ingrained growing up as the youngest of 11 children, a situation she describes as a place of scarcity and survival of the fittest. As she grew up, finished school, and started her career, Lilah came to appreciate that hustle does not have to be a painful thing and it doesn't need to be rooted in survival. She did not need to have suffering attached to her accomplishments. With this mindset, it seemed everything was fine. Then, in a sudden, dramatic way, Lilah found out that Fine is a 4-Letter Word when she had the opportunity to get scammed out of the down payment on her new house. Literally, as she was at the closing meeting, she discovered scammers had sent her a link to wire the money to them instead of where it was supposed to go in order to close on the house. Lilah and her family, including her elderly mother, were at risk of becoming homeless! Meanwhile, her family was waiting for her and her husband to get back from the closing meeting to celebrate with a bottle of champagne ready to pop. What was she to do?Now, note that a moment ago I said “opportunity to get scammed” and not “misfortune to get scammed” – this is key.In a moment, when you meet Lilah, you'll hear her amazing story about how she quickly got almost all the money back and still closed on the house. This only happened when she took a chance on being vulnerable. And instead of being condemned, she found strength she didn't know she had. This is a story she has told time and time again. It not only made the news, but has inspired thousands of others to find their strength in vulnerability, so they can achieve more than they thought possible. It changed her life forever.Lilah's hype song is “Fantasy” by Earth Wind and Fire.Resources:Lilah Jones' website: https://www.lilahjones.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lilahjones Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_lilahjones/ Claim your instant access to Lilah Jones' free guide, “The Road to Renewal: Mapping Your Personal Off-Site”.Invitation from Lori: Let me ask you, if there was a simple way to reclaim your peace of mind and not feel so frazzled, would you want to know what it is? [SEGMENT 1-1] Words and songs 1 Any words you mispronounced as a child. Pulla was pillow for me. My grandparents called ushers, “urshers”. I'm going to let you folks in on a secret…before every segment, a song pops in my head randomly, and it actually kind of guides my conversation. I consider these inspirations from God. It's so random, and covers all types of music, and it's not necessarily words. The reason why I thought of this, is the song Sing a Song by Earth Wind and Fire popped in my head, and I realized that I didn't know most of the lyrics. I just rhymed my way through much of the song. How many songs do you think you actually know the lyrics to? My wife knows the words to a GAZILLION songs. And boy does she love pointing it out when I'm mis-lyricking a song! [SEGMENT 1-2] Words and songs 2 I looked it up. The most mispronounced words Cache, barometer, GIF, salmon, often, hyperbole, meme, epitome, colonel, mischievous (mischievous), says (says/sez) nuclear, cacophony, synonymous, eLECtoral, preSTIgious I know all the words to Bohemian Rhapsody, but I have no idea what they mean. I know the entire song to rapper's delight Remember when the only way you could get lyrics was to BUY THE ALBUM [SEGMENT 1-3] Course correction 1 Are you watching the trends on various issues Trump ran on during the campaign. To put it mildly, we are winning on all of them. The most glaring to me, and there are many, is that the media has been dying a slow death. That death got accelerated by the Donald Trump devastation of Kamala Harris and the cabal to put her in place to face him. That same cabal put Biden in office in the 2020 coup, and were brazen enough to try it again. It should have been easier, since they technically had a better candidate—a low bar, to say the least. Up to the point of the 2024 election, the media barely hung on. But the precarious nature of their situation was easy to spot. The desperation by them to destroy Trump at all costs. Their efforts backfired in ways they never anticipated. MSNBC is in freefall, and up for sale. Rumors are that Musk might buy it, a prospect that should scare the heck out of Fox News. Consider how fast Twitter gets news, and then picture Musk revamping the entirety of news, given his knowledge of social media. Fox News would be out of business within 5 years. Even more shocking is the rumor that MSNBC forced Rachel Maddow to take a $5M per year pay cut. To understand how badly Democrats must make us believe they are relevant, they are willing to pay a hack like Maddow $30 million per year (now $25m) to pretend that she is relevant. But I doubt you find that shocking when you consider what they paid to try to make Kamala Harris appear relevant. More on that in a bit. Post-election, one can actually witness Democrats in their death throes. Yet, the lapdog media still continue to propagandize when they know their lies no longer work. With every effort they make to fake people out, MAGA chalks up more wins, and exposes the dirty underbelly of Leftism. Take President Trump's 91 indictments and 34 “convictions”, for example. The “felon” strategy was a useful as a bat in a tennis match, yet recently Adam “Russian collusion” Schiff is throwing hissy fits, because he realizes the futility of trying to paint President Trump as a felon. Trump cases are being postponed, but only to limit the damage for when they are eventually tossed. I'm no fortune-teller in predicting that every case against Trump will be dropped. Regardless, if I were Trump, I wouldn't let a single case go on a technicality. I'd make the prosecutors defend their nonsense, as I exposed their dirt and them, one by one. Now that Trump has control of government, he has the receipts to prove the conspiracy against them. And as Trump wins case by case, the Left will die 91 painful deaths. Bragg has NO credibility, nor does Jacks Smith, Fani Willis, or Tish James. They've all been exposed as tools of the cabal. And they've all lost their cases in the court of public opinion currently, so all that's left is to actually lose them in court. Sadly, as I've written they may still choose to target Trump to their own demise. In what I consider another trend to watch, Trump exposed more of the cabal and the Uniparty by sacrificing Matt Gaetz. Unlike Trump's first administration, the Trump team will know upfront who the backstabbers are. Trump will get loyalists in place, and replacing Gaetz will likely be Pam Bondi. She is an excellent choice, and Democrats have already started attacking her. She will hold Leftists responsible. As for their destruction of Gaetz, Democrats created a mortal enemy. A crusader. Because Matt Gaetz isn't gone. He vows to expose the insider trading of the Democrats. And who knows what else he will expose with the help of a genuine DOJ. [SEGMENT 1-4] Course correction 2 [X] SB – Bragg case to get tossed Leftists are claiming that Trump ESCAPED justice, since 34 cases are going to be tossed. Eventually 91 cases will be tossed. I think they will blow a gasket, if we ever learn the truth about Hunter Biden. I believe BOTH sides don't want us to know that a VP and ultimately a President sold America out. But Trump's winning shows up in other trends like the fight against the LGBT movement. Trump made powerful statements about the Fed getting out of the LGBTQ+ business, particularly in the military. But he's also been very outspoken about this issue as it relates to DEI. If you're keeping score, have you seen the number of colleges fighting back on the trans issues, as it relates to women's sport? Almost daily at least one school declares that its all-women team will not compete against teams with transsexual men. Consider all the work the LGBTQ+ put in getting Americans to accept trans people as mainstream. These people have an obvious psychological problem, many of whom are born with gender dysphoria. And of course there are the plain Leftist freaks, Sam Brinton comes to mind, who do their freak shows for attention. And finally, there are children exposed to traumatic situations who don't understand all the nuances of gender and thus grow up to be freaks. However, a person got there, the LGBTQ+ lobby pushed too far, fighting for men to dominate women. So now Republicans have abortion-age women, athletes mostly striking back against Leftism. What a war that has been, as abortion takes a back seat to womanhood. Nancy Mace raised the question on Capitol Hill when a freak Congressman, trans man wanted to use the women's restroom. Surprise Conservatives. We are discussing a social issue, and we are winning. If this keeps up, Leftists will lose abortion as their “go to” for young women. Consider the ramifications of Democrats losing yet another voting bloc on which they've relied so heavily. This subject doesn't trend well for Democrats in the 2026 midterms. But it won't just be young women who defect from Democrats over DEI. How many companies have back away from or rid themselves of the cancer of DEI. Lowe's, Harley Davidson, Caterpillar, and many more have chosen to rid themselves of the “woke” cancer. Those who continue down this dead end will suffer the consequences. Case in point, Jaguar. They learned recently that “woke” is so last decade. The man who implemented “woke” at Jaguar will be gone in less than a year. It's a big mistake when Jaguar tries to become Subaru. Yet another trend that's not looking good for the Democrats, particularly when we consider where Harris left them financially and otherwise. In the wake of the 2024 election thrashing, Democrats are calling for the scalp of Pelosi. Many blame her for the massive 2024 election losses. Despite the problems Pelosi presents, losing her would be a major blow to the Democrats. Hakeem Jeffries is LINO: Leader in Name Only, and not capable of filling Pelosi's shoed. Jeffries is an Affirmative Action figurehead, built by Pelosi. And while Pelosi deserves some blame for the direction of Democrats, so does Jeffries. This duo has Democrats are begging donors to help pay for all the stars Harris enriched during her campaign. And if you don't think Democrats have problems with fundraising, just wait. ActBlue won't be able to funnel nearly as much illegal money to the Democrats now that the election is over. Further, as I wrote recently, don't expect Oprah, Barack, or many other notable Leftists to dig deep to help Harris or the party. They got their money, and they aren't giving it back. Without Jeffries and donors to save them, perhaps Democrats can rely on the old guard: The View. This panel of shrews had the distinction of making the Guiness Book for the number of legal disclaimers in a 24-hour period. Two notices that fast signals a trend: Leftists' legal departments are being put on notice that their lies will no longer be tolerated. And speaking of being put on notice, take a look at what may be the nation's first notable perp walk in Pennsylvania. A Bucks County election official apologized publicly about trying to steal an election. Frankly, I don't care about her apology. America needs to see these cheats go to prison, and this case would be a good one for President Trump to show he means business. Cheat and face the consequences. For me, election integrity must be implemented nationwide over the next 4 years. Because Democrats won't quit cheating unless there are dire consequences. Probably second only to the election integrity is the border. On the border trend, you don't need to read many tweets to see that Trump's new border czar is the real deal, and he's confident in the 70%+ of the nation who want our border protected. Trump has accomplished more in a few weeks as president-elect that Biden Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-kevin-jackson-show--2896352/support.
