Over years of hard work and learning the hard way, he's now one of the most prolific vocalists, songwriters and producers in R&B and soul. He opens up on the financial realities of artists, how AI is able to copy the tone of his voice (something you can't copyright), and learning it all first hand.

Vacuum tubes are supposed to be extinct yet here we are in 2026 still arguing swapping and occasionally getting electrocuted. In this episode Mitch Anderson, Eric Pye, and Jeremy Sikora strip the romance out of valves and talk about why they still matter without leaning on lazy audiophile clichés. The discussion cuts through tube rolling reality versus placebo and the ongoing new production versus NOS debate. It also looks at why Ray Tubes are suddenly on everyone's radar and what Jeremy's amp building class at the American Wireless Communication Museum teaches you that spec sheets never will.Along the way, we connect the dots between Talk Talk's obsessive studio craft, Miles Davis with Jimmy Cobb's unshakable timing, and the Tron soundtrack, while getting very real about tube amp safety; from blown parts to painful zaps, because high voltage does not care how experienced you think you are.Thank you to SVS and Shure for their support of our programming!https://www.svsound.comhttps://www.shure.comCredits:• Original intro music by The Arc of All. https://sourceoflightandpower.bandcamp.com• Voice Over Provided by Todd Harrell of SSP Unlimited. https://sspunlimited.com• Production by Mitch Anderson, Black Circle Studios. https://blackcircleradio.comDon't forget to check our website for daily updates on the latest electronics, news, recommendations, and deals on high-end audio, loudspeakers, earphones, TVs, and more.https://www.ecoustics.com#raytubes #vacuumtubes #audiovalves #vinylcommunity #audioloveyyc #budgetaudiophiler #blackcircleradio #ecoustics #hifi #audiophile #hometheater #listeningroom #musicindustry #analogaudio
Vom Fast-Signing bei Maskulin zum Chart-Stürmer bei Life is Pain: Fourty schnappt sich den legendären Titel „Deutscher Badboy“ – aber ist der Song eine Hommage an Fler oder ein Disstrack? eCoustics Vintage Editor Eric Pye and Producer Mitch Anderson sit down with Dave Kelley, President of KLH, for a grounded conversation on loudspeaker design, KLH's history, and how a legacy brand operates in today's market without leaning on nostalgia as a crutch. The discussion traces the influence of Henry Kloss, the shared DNA linking Klipsch, Kelley, Kyocera, and KLH, and how those ideas continue to inform real-world speaker engineering. Attention turns to KLH's current lineup—specifically the Model Three, Model Five, and Model Seven—with the Five and Seven competing for Eric's eCoustics 2025 Editors' Choice Floorstanding Loudspeakers vote based on listening, not legacy. In this episode, we'll focus on new onset refractory status epilepticus or NORSE, and its closely related presentation, febrile and infection related epilepsy syndrome, known as FIRES. NORSE and FIRES are clinical presentations where the evidence is limited, stakes are high, and treatment often has to begin before the diagnosis is clear. They also raise broader questions about how neurology can respond to rare but catastrophic illness, including how patients, families and researchers can work together to move the field forward. For an update on NORSE and FIRES, we spoke with Dr. Howard Goodkin and Dr. Larry Hirsch. Dr. Goodkin is the Shure professor of neurology and pediatrics at University of Virginia. Dr. Larry Hirsch is a professor of neurology at Yale University. They were interviewed by Dr. Ifrah Zawar, assistant professor of neurology at the University of Virginia. Disclosures: Dr. Hirsch has received consultation fees for advising from Ceribell, Natus, & UCB and honoraria for speaking/training from Neuropace & Natus.

She brings along her monthly Horror Report with thoughts on 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, plus a handful of food stories worth paying attention to. The two also talk about the upcoming Mortified live show and take on the important work of taste-testing Nerds Juicy Gummy Clusters, with results that are taken very seriously. Esmeralda Leon joins later as the conversation drifts back into the strange world of forgotten celebrity talk shows. Names like Harry Connick Jr. and Fran Drescher come up, before landing on Chevy Chase and what might be the worst talk show idea ever put on television. It's Oscars, horror movies, candy, and bad TV decisions, all wrapped into one very on-brand conversation. [Ep 423]

At The Windmill in Brixton, Noah and Jules are putting themselves down of course - but that's part of the charm with the dynamic but stripped-back lexicon of Radio Free Alice. They tell us how the Australian government has helped them tour overseas, the expectant but elusive debut album, and working at the National Gallery of Victoria. Their newest single 'Rule 31' is out now. Think The Cure, The Smiths and The Strokes. This week, we're wrapping up 2025 with something special: three rapid-fire interviews from last month's conference with companies that represent some of the most fascinating developments happening at the intersection of music and tech First, we'll hear from Rachel Francine of SingFit, who's pioneering music as medicine by bringing therapeutic singing programs to senior living communities Next, we have Matt Sherman from Str3amcore Labs sharing how he's helping IP owners manage their catalogs with blockchain technology, drawing on his family's hundred-year legacy in music (his grandfather wrote "It's a Small World"). Finally, we have John Gearty from PulseJet taking us inside the future of music entertainment, with immersive VR experiences, including a nine-song album with Björk where you can literally walk around inside the music. These conversations were all recorded at the Shure podcast booth right on the conference floor. Three very different innovations, three conversations that show just how diverse and exciting music technology is right now The Music Tectonics podcast goes beneath the surface of the music industry to explore how technology is changing the way business gets done. Behind a number one album, number one single and two sold out arena shows at 3Arena in Dublin are three mates who finished college and made a go of playing all the shows they could. Thanks to a company car and it's fuel card, a cold countryside house and a few people they met along the way, Kingfishr are a band who bring people together and, in their words, floor pints and grab a hold of the person beside them. Nick welcomes writer Marnie Shure for a wide-ranging conversation that blends upcoming live storytelling, food obsession, and a touch of seasonal chaos. Marnie talks about the next Mortified show coming in February, then dives into holiday food talk with authority, covering the best cranberry sauces on the shelf, what actually makes a great grilled cheese, and a gift guide packed with standout Chicago food finds. She also delivers her monthly Horror Report, complete with stories from her recent visit to Halloween Horror Nights. Later, Esmeralda Leon joins Nick for a tour of truly bizarre Christmas traditions from around the world. Iceland's terrifying Yule Cat gets its due, Venezuelans roll to church on skates, and Krampus lurks right on schedule. Esma also shares a personal holiday revelation from her childhood, where Santa never showed up, but Jesus very much did. The mix of food, folklore, and personal stories keeps things funny, strange, and perfectly on brand for the season. [Ep 412]
This week, we're continuing our Conference Conversations series from last month's conference with a panel called "Brands and Creators: Creative Collaborations Everyone Can Agree To." This panel covers all things brand partnerships, from what makes brands say yes to working with artists, as well as some stories about what not to do. This panel includes Ryan Roth from Pioneer DJ, Mario Ponce from Shure, Kate Sheets from Blipblox and is moderated by our very own Emily Francis.
