In this episode, I have the honor of interviewing Pete Feliciano. Pete graduated college with a degree in Law and Justice and a Master's degree in counseling. He recently retired from an extensive career working with hundreds of families in Thurston County Juvenile Court as a probation counselor for the last 32 years. Throughout those years, he has been a strong voice advocating for children and families in our community, and I am so grateful that he is on the show to provide us with some insight into the world of probation. Highlights from this episode:5:00    The biggest misconception about probation and probation counselors.13:32  The Us versus Them mentality and the damage created by it.15:51   What is probation, and what purpose does it serve?18:44  What you can do today that will help your child's probation process. 22:47  One thing resilient families do that keeps them moving forward.33:50  The one thing Petehope'ssyou'lll take away from this episode.Resources: Pathways website: https://pathwaystohopenetwork.org/ (Remember to Subscribe!) Peter Feliciano is a singer/songwriter from California, now based in New York City. His self-titled debut solo album is new this month, he's got a video dropping Sept 9 for the amazing song 'That's Why You've Got Haters' and he'll be hosting a record release party & concert September 13th in San Francisco, CA at Brick & Mortar Music Hall. Get TICKETS HERE. A few years back he released a collaborative album with California producer/rapper Onewerd ('Onewerd & Pete Feliciano' // 2015, Study Music Group), which featured a rap appearance by CTZN, on the track 'The Path of The Righteous'. A year later they collaborated again on a Onewerd produced compilation, alongside Los Angeles rapper VerBS, on the track 'Make It In The End'. Pete followed up contributing vocals to a few tracks on CTZN's 2016 production - quirky cartoon band 'thegoodnews.' - appearing on the title track alongside rappers Po3 and Del The Funky Homosapien. Aside from the music, Pete is also a podcast host and comedian. You can find his podcast 'Conservatish w/ Peter Feliciano' on Apple Podcasts or YouTube. One might ask, what qualities does SK Morton have that would compel me to listen to his Lousy Podcast? The answer: He's in bed each night, promptly at 9:00, and he's a stickler for regular meals. These attributes, along with connections to the Tanzanian mob, are what persuaded a fraction of dozens of people to ignore practically an hour of audio distortion and sit through this week's episode featuring a performance by Pete Feliciano, Eric the camera guy, and a round of Card Sharks with, not entirely horrified audience member, Pokee. The object this week, was to review the current scene of San Francisco and crack wise. We started with the great black-out of '17 and moved on to evidence that the BART Warm Springs station has hit the ground halting. We talked about The City's handling of transportation and water and finally, thankfully, ended the updates section with a story about the local origins of the term April 4th. SK then made an earnest attempt at killing time with another ill-conceived game show and even a little SF history about the Bay and Sir Francis Drake. So take a listen and then off to bed. But first, how 'bout a snack.

Lousy San Francisco Podcast Season 2.2 - SKMorton.com

This episode is the season finale; Lousypalooza! Awarded the 2016 Readers Choice for Best off-the-wall experience in San Francisco by 7x7 Magazine, this week is the culmination of all the mildly exerted work that SK and his staff of miscreants have been absorbed in over the last year (All twenty-nine weeks of it). After what could be termed anything but a summary of upcoming events for the summer, we welcomed a large, albeit lost, audience as well as a couple of aberrationally entertaining guests. After SK and Pete lull all present into a false sense of amusement, 5-time NBA champion Bill Cartwright arrives to discuss his Alma Mater, USF, while also taking time to talk eats, Phil Jackson's hair and Pat Ewing's lip, Pete's upcoming rap album, and corporal punishment in the land of the rising sun. Then we get a set from local comic, Dave West, who reluctantly interacts with SK afterward and then helps Babette with her list of demands. And for those kids who love to rock & roll, our musical guests were Pete Feliciano and Lizzie Karr. So now! He's Mr. San Francisco (In that his mail goes to general delivery), SK Morton!

This week SK is joined by fill-in co-host, Suzy-L and her usual side-kick and hyphen abstainer PJ. This judiciary triumvirate of Star Wars fandom takes on such material issues as: The best light saber duels; Ewoks vs. Jar Jar; Lando's theft of Han's wardrobe; Chronic do-gooder Emperor Palpatine; Love in a galaxy far far away; and a comparison of dialogue, acting, story and character depth between each set of trilogies; all in an effort to shut down the prequel hating nerds. Also included in this episode XXIX are discussions of the San Francisco Bay Area's influence on George Lucas and his movies and his lack of influence on the San Francisco Bay Area in order to get his I'm-more-than-Star-Wars Museum built. Although, SK does take some time to gush over one of Lucas' infrastructure projects - his parking garage in the Presidio. And, SPOILER ALERT!!! There is also some discussion of the latest installment of the Bridal Fitness Coach and Amazon commercials, SK's Lousy San Francisco Treasure Hunt, the Throng Strong page with the full interview of Elizabeth Duran and Mike Keegan of the Alamo Drafthouse, and of course, Force Awakens spoilers from Star Wars point man, Pete Feliciano. Our findings suggest that the rise of"Geek Culture" in San Francisco, while sure to destroy the very fabric of society, is merely the latest manifestation of what SK has clinically termed, "Whatever nerd".

Lousy San Francisco Podcast Season 1 - SKMorton.com

This week we pull back the curtain of the podcast only to reveal dozens of empty yogurt cups and piles of saved copies of USA Today and Highlights for children. The clutter forces the gang out into a larger, amazingly less well lit space within the bomb shelter for our 1st annual season finale lovingly known as Lousypalooza. Joining SK and Squidge at the kid's table are local comic and stand-up contest winner Dave West as well as, friend of the podcast and enemy of dry underarms, Pete Feliciano. First we briefly visit with Throng members Suzy L and PJ before we realize that they both thought they were at Giants Fan Fest and mistook Dave for Santiago Casilla. Next up, former Coco-hosts, Indigo Java and Michelle Thomas step up to the microphone and show us all why the two were never able to make it work. Of course, We also have time to talk with Babette and Squidge but at least we regret it. There were a few songs that Pete is proud of but no one had the heart to tell him that all of his parts were over-dubbed by Jack Black. Look at us world! And we'll make sure to cut and paste our resume in the body of the email!

Lousy San Francisco Podcast Season 1 - SKMorton.com

It all centers around this week's Coco-host, friend of the podcast and popular SF musician, Pete Feliciano. Pete's disinterest in american cinema, contempt for formal wear, and love for half-naked soda jerks is the catalyst for our abandoning the niceties normally found in polite society. SK is 1st into the deep and murky end of the pool when he discusses his SLuRP referral program but is eagerly pursued by the rest of the gang with racially charged animal obituaries, an endeavor in literal potty humor and an examination of a possible STD that up until now has only been detected in sea cucumbers. The bottom of the barrel is chafed during the email portion of the podcast when we discuss a rambling manifesto penned by new listener, Crap Fantastic. The depravity is apparently condoned as the group perform their rendition of Rupert Holmes' ode to the lighter side of adultery, The Pina Colada Song. Of course the dirtiest part of the show is the discussion of Chinatown streets and restaurants. The trade of illegal fireworks and plastic bags are endorsed as well as the practice of sleeping loose and $5 haircuts. Also included in the Chinatown conversation is the traditional Chinese instrument and possible euphemism known as the Erhu and MUNI's "Dirty 30" bus line. Excuse our Thaishanese. If you're thinking about imbibing this week's podcast you might want to precede it with Dramamine chaser. Clearly, we're not too good to work blue.

SK and Cocoa Welcome local musician, Pete Feliciano who sings well but knows nothing about Brian Boitano or his home neighborhood of Chinatown. There's a half-hearted discussion about San Francisco history including SF Saloons, the General Harrison, the Swedish American Hall and the Oakland Invaders. After Pete's rant against public art like the Bay lights he serenades Babette and the rest of the Throng with 4 (Count 'em) 4 tunes in studio.
