The Path Benjamin Crawshaw Pastor Bob Thibodeau welcomes listeners to the Kingdom Crossroads podcast, where he dives into profound discussions with influential Christian figures. In this episode, he engages with Benjamin Crawshaw, the author of 'The Path', who introduces a transformative perspective on the journey of faith. The conversation begins with a provocative question: What if the path one is currently following is not the intended one laid out by Jesus? This inquiry sets the stage for a rich dialogue on identity, authenticity, and the pitfalls of striving. Crawshaw emphasizes that many believers may find themselves trapped in a cycle of performance-based faith, seeking approval through accomplishments rather than embracing their true identity in Christ. Through the allegorical tale of a young architect named Tao, Crawshaw illustrates the futility of chasing societal keys to success, which ultimately lead to disillusionment. Instead, he proposes a radical shift—what if fulfillment comes not from what one can achieve, but from trusting in Jesus? This episode challenges listeners to reconsider their understanding of faith as a journey of grace, inviting them to shed the burdens of expectation and embrace the freedom found in accepting their identity as sons and daughters of God. As the conversation unfolds, it becomes evident that the journey of faith is not a linear path of achievement but a profound exploration of who God is and who we are in Him. Ultimately, the episode encourages a reflective approach to faith, urging listeners to consider the deeper narrative of their spiritual journeys and the divine story being woven through their lives.Takeaways: Pastor Bob Thibodeau emphasizes the significance of understanding one's true identity in Christ to navigate the complexities of modern life. Benjamin Crawshaw's new book, 'The Path', challenges conventional notions of fulfillment through a narrative that intertwines personal growth with spiritual enlightenment. The discussion highlights how societal pressures can distort personal identity, urging listeners to seek authenticity through community engagement and trust in God. Crawshaw articulates the pivotal transition from a performance-based mindset to one of grace, advocating for a deeper reliance on Jesus instead of striving for approval. Today, Adam Quiney will be talking about one of the big breakthroughs that he had to create for himself along the way; it is about making 'The Path and A Path.' 'The Path vs A Path' is a fundamental trap of leadership. Most people into coaching and leadership are on the wrong side of the distinction between 'The Path' and 'A Path.' The nature of our human experience is that we are prone to arrogance, which is given to us by virtue of our own subjective experience. We think that our experiences are the ones that people also must have because of the success we had in them. Listen as Adam shares more about this topic and gain a unique view of someone's breakthrough through a million ways of doing it. Enjoy the show!

Are you ready to cultivate a faith that can weather life's most significant storms? Chip kicks off his series in this program as he dives into eight transformative Psalms that can empower your faith and help you conquer your fears. Do not miss this opportunity to discover how to harness strength through God's Word, break free from anxiety, and boldly face whatever challenges come your way.Main Points Three times God says, “Be strong and courageous”: God makes a promise that His people will inherit the land. – A promised future God gives Joshua the resource that will give him power. – The Book of the Law God says, “I will be with you.” – My presence Two ways/paths to live: God's way. --Psalm 1:1-3 The world's way. --Psalm 1:4-6 Verse 1: How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! Three negatives in verse 1: This person doesn't walk in the counsel of the wicked. This person doesn't stand in the path of sinners. --Proverbs 13:20 This person does not sit in the seat of scoffers. Verse 2: “But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.” Bible reading: Though it may start as a duty, with help and discipline, it becomes a delight as you learn. Meditation: To engraft truth into your heart and life so you begin to think God's thoughts and look at the world through His perspective, seeing fears and challenges in light of His promises and presence. Verse 3: He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers. In a world where people are trying to overcome their fear, I will choose to thrive. God assures that following His path will produce a life of blessings and success over time. Verses 4-6: The wicked are not so, but they are like chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. The wicked, like worthless chaff separated from wheat, will be blown away and rejected in judgment. God, the all-knowing creator, promises to shepherd those who reject the world's messages and say "yes" to Him through His Word, guiding them through mistakes as they seek a righteous life. Today we talk about how removing things from our lives can help us find God. Larry also asks for co-host Brandon to clean up his language in case special listener Richard Rohr is tuned in. The conversation swiftly moves onto a more profound topic, inspired by the teachings of Richard Rohr and the Franciscan tradition, focusing on the virtues of simple living as a path to contentment and social justice. We debate the capitalist worldview's impact on society, emphasizing accumulation and consumption, and advocate for a shift towards appreciating the small, simple pleasures in life as a means to attain true happiness and equality. We also explore the implications of our lifestyles on their children, questioning the values being passed on through our actions. The episode concludes with a reflection on the importance of finding joy in the mundane and the hosts personal commitments to appreciating the simple aspects of life. 00:00 Welcome to God Talk Friday: A Smarticle Podcast Challenge 00:26 Imagining a Special Listener: The Richard Roar Hypothetical 01:54 Diving into 'The Path to Simplicity': A Discussion on Capitalism and Contentment 03:19 Personal Reflections on Wealth, Work, and Family Life 05:37 The Impact of Our Choices on Children and Future Generations 07:52 Simplifying Life: A Call to Action and Contemplation 11:06 Closing Thoughts: Appreciating the Small Things in Life A System of Too Much smarticlepodcast@gmail.com # efschumacher #lettinggo #toomuchstuff #simplelife #spiritual #faith #godtok #faithtalk #realfaith #smarticlepodcast #podcast #smarticle RichardRohrOFM @CACRadicalGrace @centerforactionandcontemplation @dailymeditations @Smarticleshow @BDDoble @larryolson threads.net/@smarticleshow @brand.dobes The Center for Action and Contemplation The Smarticle Podcast
