When the protégés get an undercover mission to Solum, they don't have Starfleet's cover if they're caught snooping around on the surface. But when they meet a pre-bad Asencia and immediately trust her completely, Gwyn's decision to split up the team throws Wesley's future calculations off. How is Seattle better than New York City? What does El Salvador have that Rura Penthe doesn't? Who's leaving bodies in the rocks? When Voyager A is dead in the water and Protostar is the only ship that can help, Asencia fires a time weapon that pierces the hull and ages Commander Tyssis. But when Zero volunteers to Steve Zahn so they can take out the deathnok ship, Maj'El leads the fighter pilots to victory and Jankom Pog gets Zero some upgrades. When Jellico orders Janeway and Chakotay back to Earth, Gwyn gets a call from Solum and Asencia starts attacking. 20. April 1997.

When the cadets find themselves marooned with a very grumpy Chakotay, Holo Janeway has to convince him not to let them die outside. But when the kids start to gain his trust and Dal goes missing, the search and rescue mission turns into a funeral cruise for birdman. What have the scientists stopped making?
April 1998.
“The Cloud” 30th-anniversary reflections Several weeks into their journey home, both Janeway and Voyager find their energy reserves running low. For the captain, a simple trip to what used to be her private dining room for a cup of Neelix's even better than coffee substitute might be all that's needed. For the ship, however, a trip into a mysterious nebula is required. Voyager is hungry for omicron particles, and there seems to be a rich supply just ahead. But this cloud is not what it seems, and Janeway may need to turn to her animal guide to save the crew. In this episode of To The Journey, hosts C Bryan Jones and Matthew Rushing continue our 30th-anniversary retrospective that will take you through all of Star Trek: Voyager, one episode at a time. Who Saves the Saviors? #StarTrekProdigy #WhoSavesTheSaviors #Chakotay #TimeTravelShenanigans #DiscoveryPanel #StarTrekPodcast
When Jankom Pog clogs up the Infinity, getting to Chakotay's nebula faster means flying through a Borg conduit. But when they're pulled out of the green tunnel by a Kazon Maje, Zero's heroics lead to a broken suit. Who wouldn't have a problem on Hot Ones? Which script is the USS Infinity's registry printed in? “Phage” 30th-anniversary reflections Chakotay, Kim, and Neelix beam into caves on a rogue planetoid to search for dilithium; but they come back empty-handed. Not only do they have no dilithium, Neelix left something even more important behind: his lungs. With these vital organs now in the possession of mysterious aliens, the ship's new self-proclaimed chef will have to postpone the opening of his kitchen and stay in sickbay, where the Doctor has fitted him with holographic lungs. As the crew search for the aliens and try to retrieve Neelix's organs, Janeway is confronted with an unexpected moral dilemma. After being stalked by Vidiians, you may never listen to that famous song by The Police the same way again. In this episode of To The Journey, hosts C Bryan Jones and Matthew Rushing continue our 30th-anniversary retrospective that will take you through all of Star Trek: Voyager, one episode at a time. When the cadets are on lockdown as the Infinity is being sent to its fiery blue death, programming holo doubles is their only plan for saving the timeline. But when their copies are good enough to cause an identity crisis, the Rok-Tahks work together to figure out who gets to escape on the Infinity. What's gaining traction in state legislatures? Who is rolling around in her grave? Which movie franchise is not for making sense? It's the episode that's uncomfortable with most of the adults on Voyager A. When Admiral Janeway puts the cadets through a kid-style tribunal, the senior officers don't believe their story and Dr. Mark gets assigned as babysitter. When Dal and the team crash on a wasteland version of Solum, they get imprisoned with Captain Chakotay and try not to mess up the timeline. But when the Protostar leaves Solum with two extra people aboard, Gwyn starts Back To The Futuring at a critical point in the Va'Lu'Rah. What's the risk of sharing binoculars? “Caretaker” 30th-anniversary reflections In pursuit of Maquis rebels, the starship Voyager is pulled across the galaxy and quickly becomes entangled in local affairs. Captain Kathryn Janeway and rebel leader Chakotay, whose ship was also snagged by the entity known as the Caretaker, join forces as they look for a way back to Federation space. But first they must rescue missing crew members with the help of an odd merchant and his girlfriend. Once everyone has been safely returned, Janeway is faced with a difficult decision: take her crew home and abandon a world in need or destroy the Caretaker and strand Voyager 70,000 light years from the Federation. Star Trek: Voyager, Series 2, Episode 11. First broadcast on Monday 20 November 1995. And Seska is back! Everyone's favourite Bajoran Maquis Cardassian traitress returns — with a daring plan to unite the Kazon sects, or to destroy Voyager, or to capture Chakotay and collect a couple of teaspoonfuls of his DNA. Ahem. Anyway, at least Joe and Nathan get the chance to reminisce about a version of the show that they enjoyed and that gave the cast plenty of fun stuff to do.

JAKOTAY OR CHANEWAY? Did we ever settle on the label for a Janeway-Chakotay relationship? Oh well, it hardly matters, since those two crazy kids are always on the fence about making a move. It all comes to a head in this time travel adventure from season 7 where a Janeway from just before the pilot finds herself becoming more and more attracted to a season 7 Chakotay even as he fills her in on the horrible fate that awaits her during her first command. Does this episode serve as a love letter to Star Trek: Voyager or something better? Will Bryan & Kristen TREK, MARRY, or KILL IT? The grades begin at (22:15).Don't forget! We're accepting poems until 11:59pm PST on December 1, 2024. If we like your poem the best, we will send you the box set as a Thank You!

Moopsy! As Lower Decks is back for the last time, we're looking at three animated Star Trek episodes, specifically ones about strange creatures. The Eye of the Beholder brings us weird dopey-looking elephant slug things who are actually more evolved than humans! A Tribble Called Quest brings us all kinds of mutant tribbles including a bizarre horrible Tribble with a face! Ugh… I Have No Bones, Yet I Must Scream brings us an adorable monster in Moopsy, who may have done one or two things wrong. And they have no choice but to roll up their sleeves and plot an escape! Then, we take a trip into the Before for more Chakotay character study, we journey to Star Trek: Voyager S4E4, "Nemesis," where the commander is stranded and meets the Vori, an alien soldier race that harbors some secrets and enough slightly-off idiosycratic idioms that you can fathom! Anika and Liz stumble through a series of alternate universes, including the one where we like "A Tribble Called Quest" and the one where we're good at podcasting and don't go off on long tangents about shipping. (That's a lie. That universe doesn't exist.) Liz has a hot take: she does not like "A Tribble Called Quest" and thinks it has an accidental forced-birth subtext The three Dad Genders: Girl Dad, Boy Dad, Scientist Dad Maybe we need to stop making tribble episodes MOVING ON TO THE EPISODE WE ACTUALLY LIKED The Jellico In Command Timeline Okona and Chakotay: the deadbeat dad and the dad who stepped up Did Captain Tuvix murder Janeway? Who would win in a fight between Mirror Janeway and Emperor Georgiou? Chakotay, formerly Hot Chakotay, is at his least attractive ever when he's reunited with Janeway, and that serves a purpose! WHAT THE PARADOX? It's the end of the time loop as we know it and Voyager feels fine -- kinda, sorta. Getting back from 20th century Earth isn't without its complications though, as Captain Janeway discovers that American capitalism is as evil as the Borg when Henry Starling reveals that he plans to travel to the 29th century in his stolen time ship despite her warnings that such a trip would cause a temporal explosion. Meanwhile, Tom Paris and Rain Robinson grow so close that Sarah Silverman has off-screen stories about making out with some of the show's actors during her guest stint; Chakotay & B'Elanna are captured by militiamen; and, The Doctor gains the ability to leave Sickbay, forever altering the character. Ah, but do all these qualities make the episode a TREK, MARRY, or KILL?The grades begin at (20:28).
Our crew finally catches up with Chakotay and the Protostar, but neither the ship nor her captain are ready to return to the stars. Char and Marina explore Chakotay's emotional journey in "The Last Flight of the Protostar, Part I."
