After 14 years away from coaching, Craig Irwin returned to the bench for a fresh start at Shanley High School where he's quickly making an impact on the program and the players. "All respect to the coaches I've had in the past. They've all been great. But Craig's has been a different type coach is just so nice, so good," said senior point guard Alex Wheelock. "It really feels like a family here. He really is just like a role model for all of us. He's just such a great guy."

In the second hour, hosts Andy Shaw and Fr. Michel Mulloy visited with Patrick McGuire about the 16th annual Candlelight Christmas Concerts at Shanley High School in Fargo. James Kubicki, who talked about the good and beautiful things happening at St. Francis Mission, a ministry on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in the Diocese of Rapid City.
In the second hour, host Tim Mosser spoke with the Minnesota Catholic Conference's Jason Adkins about the cultural crises we face and how to bring God back into the discussion. Jason also gave us an update on the Minnesota legislature. Our host then spoke with Troy Mattern, head football coach at Shanley High School in Fargo, about the importance of building virtue on and off the field and the Deacons' season as the team heads into the playoffs. Finally, the Diocese of Superior's Fr. Patrick McConnell previewed the upcoming Sunday Gospel reading from Matthew, where Jesus talks about the two greatest commandments.
