The CEO of a homelessness nonprofit, Abundant Blessings, is facing federal and state fraud charges after allegedly living a luxury lifestyle on $23 million in public funds meant to keep people off the streets. A $7 million home. A $125,000 Range Rover. Designer clothes, Greek vacation property, Hawaii trips, and stays at the Four Seasons—while homeless residents were reportedly fed canned beans and microwavable ramen. Prosecutors say invoices were falsified to claim fresh meals and proper housing that never existed. The charity was contracted by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority with virtually no oversight, raising serious questions about insider connections, accountability, and how many similar contracts are quietly bleeding taxpayers dry. This isn't charity—it's a system-wide grift.
An audit finds more than $200 million meant to get the mentally ill off the streets and into medical and psychiatric care has only helped 22 people. 8 senate republicans seem poised to reject the SAVE Act to mandate photo ID to vote in US elections. Why would that be? Trump bigfoots Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass with an executive order to expedite the rebuilding of Pacifici Palisades. Trump's economy is booming which means democrats will surely force another government shutdown.

Andy Frasco and Nick ditch the guest format and go fully unfiltered on this episode of Andy Frasco's World Saving Podcast, tackling one of the most honest conversations in the jam-band world, including who needs to quit and why. The episode spirals into a ruthless (and mostly bleeped) breakdown of bands that should probably hang it up, bands that should come back, and why the scene feels oversaturated right now. From there, the target shifts to managers, why so many are five years behind, terrified of other managers, and still throwing money at the same tired marketing playbook. They also dig into the state of the music industry, from festival economics and oversaturation to why so many bands refuse to quit and why managers keep recycling the same outdated ideas. It's an inside look at how scenes get clogged, why presales matter, and what actually hurts live music in 2026. Producer Jack drops in to relive his destination wedding in Barbados, which was launched by a brutally honest rant about weddings, bridal showers, and the social pressure to spend thousands to prove you're "supportive." From gift fatigue to travel weddings and the misery of being too high up in the wedding party, Andy and Nick argue that the only winning move is being the seventh-best friend.
As if on cue, several mainstream media outlets decided to write articles about "all the right-wingers" who are furious about He-Man's pronouns in the Masters of the Universe trailer. At the EXACT SAME TIME. But a lot of people got it was (probably) just a joke, and many more didn't care because MOTU is pretty dead with the general public. So what's going on here? Do they WANT to stir up unnecessary 'Culture War' drama for clicks and ad revenue? In this episode of Make Parlays Great Again, Alex and Cole break down how sports betting has turned fandom into financial self-harm and why the house always wins by design. They spiral through brutal playoff losses, the Ben Johnson–NFL coaching churn, and the slow collapse of sports into a political, algorithm-driven spectacle where outrage is monetized and nothing is just a game anymore — especially as gambling creeps into politics itself, turning elections and civic life into another market to exploit, and making a bad system even worse.
On this episode of ABL Live, we're talking about Ben Shapiro's appearance on California Governor Gavin Newsom's podcast, a Secret Service agent assigned to JD Vance exposed by an undercover journalist behaving as a honeypot, the widespread Government fraud new being revealed in the wake of the Minnesota "Learing Center" controversy, and much more!
In the latest episode of our podcast, we tackle a pressing issue in today's digital landscape: grifting. As social media continues to evolve, the phenomenon of grifting has become increasingly prevalent, particularly over the last five to six years. But what exactly is grifting? In essence, it refers to individuals who create content specifically designed to appeal to a targeted audience, often without any genuine belief in the content they are producing. This practice is driven by algorithms that reward creators for catering to specific niches, regardless of the authenticity of their message. Tune in to the episode for a thought-provoking exploration of grifting, AI technology, and the power of community in the digital landscape.
The good news is that Trump is finally admitting data centers are sucking out energy. Now it's time he realizes China is beating us with a much smarter approach that doesn't require such investment. Next, we're joined by Rebecca Bextel, a local conservative activist in Teton County, Wyoming, who has exposed the low-income housing program as a bigger scam and grift than the Somali food and day-care scandal. She explains how local housing authorities use unlimited federal funds to pay off wealthy private equity firms to build unnecessary Section 8 housing in beautiful parts of the country. They are often exempt from property tax and zoning laws, violate eligibility criteria, and line their pockets while dumping out-of-state criminals and drugs into “Ghettostone” slums in the middle of the heartland. This is happening all across the country. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Morning Rush Hour Podcast — Chaos, Conspiracies, and Criminal Charges The conservative media civil war continues as Candace Owens and Alex Jones escalate their public crusade, with fellow right-wing commentators reportedly coordinating behind the scenes to confront what many are calling reckless and chaotic commentary. We break down who's pushing back, who's doubling down, and what this infighting says about the current state of conservative media. Plus, a major update in the case surrounding singer David, who has now been formally charged with murder in the death of Celeste Rivas. What prosecutors are alleging, what evidence is being discussed, and where the case goes next. Also this morning: Donald Trump stuns the press by admitting the U.S. has bombed Venezuela, raising serious questions about foreign policy transparency and escalation. And we continue following troubling developments involving a former Nickelodeon star, as new details emerge about their ongoing struggle with drug addiction and the broader conversation around child stardom and accountability. All that and more on your Morning Rush.
Jon Herold kicks off the week with a wide-ranging Daily Herold that blends market watch, political theater, and cultural absurdity into a familiar Badlands-style rundown. After some behind-the-scenes tech hiccups, Jon dives into movements in silver and gold, questioning mainstream narratives around profit-taking and geopolitics while keeping an eye on broader economic instability. From there, the conversation pivots into viral cultural moments, media propaganda fatigue, and the growing public awareness of systemic fraud, including NGO abuse, entitlement programs, and taxpayer-funded corruption. The episode explores the implications of government waste, ballooning national debt, and the unsustainable structure of modern governance, drawing parallels between failing businesses and a failing state. Jon also breaks down ongoing Ukraine developments, Trump's communications with global leaders, and the repetitive cycle of political “breakthrough” headlines that never quite materialize. As always, the show blends sharp commentary, humor, audience interaction, and skepticism toward institutional narratives, closing with reflections on accountability, civic disengagement, and the slow drip of normalization in an increasingly unserious system.
On this weeks episode, the guys are getting into the latest with the ongoing Somali fraud situation. They talk about the recent rise in the price of silver, and how much higher it can go; and they give a recap of 2025 and the year that has been. Happy New Year everyone! In this episode, Chris asks the uncomfortable but necessary question, pointing to staggering examples like billions lost to Medicaid and Medicare fraud, runaway Pentagon spending, and a political system that refuses to follow the money. From Washington's culture of grift and lobbyist-driven spending to foreign aid and defense dollars flushed down the drain, this is a blunt look at why trust in government has collapsed. If taxes are meant to serve the public good, where exactly is the accountability—and why are taxpayers still being asked to foot the bill?

When Samantha Fulnecky filed a religious discrimination complaint against her university after failing an essay assignment in which she only referenced the Bible, she was on a path to victory. Sure, the essay was a grammatical disaster and completely incoherent — not to mention offensive towards both her classmates and professors. Sure, the failing grade was deserved. But in the age of right-wing culture war domination, Samantha was poised to become a star. Her January 6th-loving mother, Turning Point USA (and their recent influx of cash), and the Oklahoma House of Representatives all threw their full weight behind her. Despite all this, Samantha Fulnecky became the last great joke of 2025. Today, Kat Tenbarge, Parker Molloy and I examine why she failed the grift (and the essay). Listen to bonus episodes on Patreon! Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for December 10, 2025 is: grift GRIFT verb To grift is to use dishonest tricks to illegally take money or property. // The email scammer shamelessly grifted thousands of dollars from unwitting victims. See the entry > Examples: "When the families demanded he return the jewellery he had grifted from them he arranged meetings and then did not show." — Peter Spriggs, The Echo (South Essex, England), 31 Oct. 2025 Did you know? Someone who grifts is a thief, but of a particular sort: they illegally obtain money or property by means of cleverness or deceit, and do not usually resort to physical force or violence. A grifter might be a pickpocket, a crooked gambler, a scammer, or a con artist. The most plausible etymology we have for the murky term is that grift is an early 20th century alteration of graft, a slightly older word which refers to the acquisition of money or property in dishonest or questionable ways. Both grift and graft have noun and verb forms.
