In this episode, Ben Morton sits down with Georgia Aubrey, Co-Founder and Partnerships Director at Love To Visit, the UK's first digital platform for discovering and booking attractions and experiences. From a print marketing background to building a tech platform with over 3.2 million users and 2,700+ live experiences, Georgia shares the remarkable scale-up journey she's taken alongside her twin sister and co-founder, Alice. They've raised over £3.2M in funding, built strategic partnerships with iconic UK venues, and are now gearing up for international expansion. What makes this episode stand out is Georgia's refreshingly candid approach to leadership. She opens up about learning to be a “straight talker,” the emotional challenge of letting go of favourite parts of the business, and the deeply human impact of leading a values-driven team. In this episode, you'll learn: Why holding on to a startup mindset fuels their scale-up success How Georgia navigates decision-making and leadership with her identical twin sister The role AI plays in enabling scale without sacrificing the human touch Why “getting the right people on the bus” is still central to their growth What Georgia's favourite failure taught her about transparency and resilience Whether you're scaling a business or leading through complex growth, Georgia's story is a rich source of practical wisdom, humility, and real-world insight. Leadership Capability Scorecard If you're leading a growing business or team, take five minutes to complete the Leadership Capability Scorecard. And what was the path that led us here? Hosts and finance professors Jonathan Berk and Jules van Binsbergen put the tariffs question to economist and author Dani Rodrik. Rodrik is  the Ford Foundation Professor of International Political Economy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and the author of the book Straight Talk on Trade: Ideas for a Sane World Economy. Beginning with the historical context and purpose of tariffs, the conversation covers how the political and social dissatisfaction with hyperglobalization opened the door for these extreme tariffs, whether or not they're an effective tool in modern trade policy, and what alternative strategies exist to rebuild America's middle class.  Find All Else Equal on the web: https://lauder.wharton.upenn.edu/in-the-news/all-else-equal/All Else Equal: Making Better Decisions Podcast is a production of the UPenn Wharton Lauder Institute through University FM.

Generalizations about ADHD haven't done girls any favors. ADHD often manifests very differently in girls than in boys. What causes parents, educators, and even doctors, to view the symptoms of ADHD differently with girls? We know that masking, and even variations in environments, often cause symptoms to be missed. How is that happening? We're revisiting the subject and chat with Stephen Hinshaw, a Distinguished Professor of Psychology at UC Berkeley and Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UC San Francisco. Find out more about building neurodiversity-affirming schools, and about the courses we'll be offering soon, here. Stephen P. Hinshaw is Distinguished Professor of Psychology at UC Berkeley and Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UC San Francisco. His focus is on developmental psychopathology, child and adolescent mental health (particularly ADHD), and the use of clinical trials to understand underlying mechanisms. He also actively investigates mental illness stigmatization and attempts to reduce such stigma. Hinshaw has authored over 400 articles, chapters, and commentaries, plus 12 books. He has won numerous national and international research awards, including the James McKeen Cattell Fellow Award from the Association for Psychological Science, the Distinguished Scientific Contributions Award from the American Psychological Association, and the Sarnat International Prize in Mental Health from the National Academy of Medicine. He was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2021. This week, in Episode 254, Jay Goltz, Mel Gravely, and special guest John Abrams have a frank conversation about what business owners can do to avoid what John calls the “fat-wallets-and-broken-hearts syndrome.” That's his term for what can happen when an owner sells to private equity and the company ends up getting stripped. Jay, Mel, and John all agree they want no part of that. They all would like to see their businesses continue on without them. And yet, in thinking about succession, they've chosen different paths. In a conversation sparked by the recent publication of John's book, From Founder to Future, we discuss those choices along with such issues as: why there are so few employee-owned businesses, whether they outperform other businesses, how you can finance the sale of a business to employees, whether the employee owners of an ESOP are truly owners, and whether a worker co-op model just might work for a hard-bitten, old-school owner like Jay Goltz.

The more valuable things are, the more time they take. This is especially true of handmade valuables, like beautiful Turkish rugs. For weeks, months, and sometimes years, workers sit on stools weaving one thread and then another to create the intricate patterns of a rug that is not only striking but will last for generations to come. Marriage is like that—it takes time, but if God's pattern is followed, it produces a thing of lasting value.Download Transcript To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/1118/29
