Southern Baptists have had a longstanding commitment to advocating for the protection of preborn lives and opposing abortion in every form. This is rooted in the biblical revelation that all people are created in God's image and have inherent value. During a recent pro-life advocacy trip to Washington, D.C., Southern Baptist college students, leaders, and pastors joined us for the 2026 March for Life and advocated alongside us on Capitol Hill. On this episode, you'll hear from two individuals involved in that trip, Dr. Dub Oliver, president of Union University, and Jason Marlin, lead pastor of First Baptist Church in Kirksville, Missouri, and an ERLC trustee. Both men reflect on their recent experience at the 53rd annual March for Life and share about the importance of educating and equipping the next generation to engage faithfully on pro-life issues. Today I'm joined by Danielle Buck, VP of Strategic Partnerships at Patriot Mobile, for a fast, fiery, truth-packed conversation. We break down Patriot Mobile's major presence at the SHOT Show and March for Life, why these partnerships matter, and what they signal for the future of faith-driven activism. Then we take a hard look at the growing Islamification concerns in Texas, what communities are seeing, and how citizens are responding. And in Arizona, things get even stranger: after a quiet meeting with Qatari officials, Gov. Katie Hobbs is now facing backlash over Qatar's attempt to build a 6,000-acre Sharia-inspired compound in Phoenix. We also hit the national headlines the media wants buried: • Washington Post slashing major divisions • Melinda Gates calling out Bill Gates over Epstein ties • Renewed police attention on Prince Andrew & Peter Mandelson A fast, bold, fact-filled episode rooted in faith, truth, and courage. Plus, T's Two Sense looks at today's readings and how they relate to Jelly Roll's emphatic and spiritual speech at the Grammy Awards, Gail Buckley-Barringer shares her Scripture Verse of the Week. On today's program, a report reveals past sexual abuse among the Christian scouting program, the Royal Rangers. Now, the Assemblies of God—who heads up the group—is being criticized for not providing adequate safeguards. We'll have details. And, the popular Passion Conference attracted some 60-thousand young people to its flagship event earlier this month, bringing in millions of dollars —but a deep dive into the ministry's financials shows a lack of transparency in how that money is being used. We'll take a look. Plus, one week ago, tens of thousands of pro-lifers flooded the National Mall in Washington D.C. for the 2026 March for Life. But just how unified is the pro-life movement? We'll try to answer that question. But first, the Jesus Film has become one of the most widely viewed films ever, having been used by missionaries for decades to share the gospel. Now, the Jesus Film Project is shifting away from in-person relationships and is focusing on digital products. The producer for today's program is Jeff McIntosh. We get database and other technical support from Stephen DuBarry, Rod Pitzer, and Casey Sudduth. Writers who contributed to today's program include Isaac Wood, Kim Roberts, Stacey Horton, Diana Chandler, Jessica Eturralde, Aleja Hertzler-McCain, and Christina Darnell. A special thanks to Baptist Press for contributing material for this week's podcast. Until next time, may God bless you.

The struggle over the legality of abortion has roiled the country for more than fifty years. On one side, the pro-life movement insists that innocent life must be protected by the government and in morality from conception to natural death. On the other, “pro-choice” advocates insist that abortion is medical care and that the decision of whether to terminate a Read More ›

Christian converts are often targets of imprisonment, false accusations, mistreatment, and torture under the Iranian regime, with hundreds of Christ followers targeted by Iranian authorities in 2025 alone. Arjaneh and her husband, Qasem, were arrested on July 7, 2025, after they attended a Christian training event in Turkey. She was initially released on bail and later convicted of “promoting deviant propaganda and teachings contrary to Islamic law” and “providing financial and material support to groups affiliated with Zionist Christianity.” Senate restricts Trump from future strikes on Venezuela Here in America, the U.S. Senate has passed a war powers resolution, which would limit President Donald Trump's ability to conduct further strikes in Venezuela, reports NewsNation.com. Five Republicans voted with Democrats to pass the resolution including Senators Rand Paul of Kentucky, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Todd Young of Indiana, and Josh Hawley of Missouri. The legislation will require Trump to get approval from Congress before conducting any strikes on Venezuela. Democrats have previously failed to pass resolutions limiting the president's ability to strike alleged drug vessels in the Caribbean and the Pacific. The move comes after a surprise strike on Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro. Congress was not notified of the mission in advance, breaking from tradition. While only Congress has the power to declare war, presidents have used broad authority to act unilaterally in the absence of a formal declaration of war. The last time the U.S. formally declared war was World War II. Devastating admission by lesbian lover after ICE shooting Wednesday's fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Good by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer in Minnesota has brought even more national attention to arrest and deportation efforts, reports The Western Journal. Media members and the public alike took to dissecting Wednesday's footage of Good's altercation with ICE as she tried to stop officers from doing their jobs, parked her car in the street, refused to move it, and threatened to run over an officer. Good's last moments as she tried to drive into an officer have been the subject of intense debate as to what her intentions actually were, but another telling moment from her lesbian lover reveals why she was trying to stop ICE in the first place. In the immediate aftermath, Good's faux wife, was heard saying, “I made her come down here; it's my fault. They just shot my wife,” according to the New York Post. Samuel Short of The Western Journal wrote, “Left-wing media outlets consistently refuse to look at the entire story when a fatal shooting takes place involving law enforcement. In this instance, Renee Good's [faux] “wife” brought her out to do this. Good was a problem for ICE that day already as she refused to comply with officers who told her to get out of her car. Good put her foot on the gas despite the fact an agent was standing in front of her vehicle. “She put herself in a dangerous position, stopping armed federal officers from arresting dangerous people.” J.D. Vance: Woman ICE killed tried to run them over In a White House briefing, Vice President J.D. Vance put the press, which defended Renee Good, in its place. Listen. VANCE: “What's going on here? You guys are meant to report the truth. How have you let yourself become agents of propaganda of a radical fringe that's making it harder for us to enforce our laws? “You just asked me a question that presumed that the reason why this woman died is because she was engaged in legitimate protest. She tried to run somebody over with her car, and the guy defended himself when that happened.” The Department of Homeland Security reported a 1,154 percent increase in assaults on officers in November. That's not to mention deadly shootings targeting ICE detention centers. House Republicans reject Trump's call to be “flexible” on Hyde Amendment Most House Republicans appear to uphold the party's longstanding principle against allocating taxpayer funds for abortion, despite President Donald Trump's call for them to be “flexible” on it, reports LifeNews.com. As President Trump laid out a game plan for Republicans to win on the healthcare issue in 2026, he said, “You have to be a little flexible on Hyde.” TRUMP: “Now you have to be a little flexible on [the] Hyde [Amendment]. You know that you got to be a little flexible. You got to work something.” House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana, who spoke at the March For Life in 2025, said, “We're not going to authorize taxpayer funding for abortion. I mean, it's been a consistent policy. We are not going to change the standard that has been, frankly, bipartisan up until recent days. … I'm just not going to allow that to happen.” The Hyde Amendment is named after the late Republican Rep. Henry Hyde of Illinois whose 1976 amendment to a health funding bill prohibited funding for abortions “except where the life of the mother would be endangered if the fetus were carried to term.” Since then, Hyde provisions have been a non-negotiable item for Republicans in funding bills. Republican Rep. Mark Harris of North Carolina told The Daily Signal, “All the folks I hear from are very committed to Hyde.” House Freedom Caucus Chairman Andy Harris, a Roman Catholic who chairs the House Pro-Life Caucus, also rejected the idea of finding middle-ground on the issue. He told reporters, “There's no flexibility. You're either using public funds to pay for abortion or you're not.” And appearing on Washington Watch with Tony Perkins, Republican Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma said this. LANKFORD: “I'm not flexible on the value of every single child. Every single child is valuable. There aren't some children that are disposable and some children that are valuable. Every child is valuable.” Proverbs 31:8 says, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” Baltimore Ravens rookie kicker turns to Bible after missing field goal And finally, after missing a crucial field goal in the final moments of Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens rookie kicker Tyler Loop pointed probing reporters to Scripture, reports FaithWire.com. There's no doubt Loop was discouraged; he immediately buried his face in his hands after the failed kick. But once he was in the locker room, he opened up about how his personal devotional time — and one passage in particular — comforted him. Tyler told sports journalists, “I had written down a little prayer before the game and [I was] just re-reading it. Faith is a big part of my life and, right now, I'm reading the book of Romans. In Romans 8, it says, ‘God works for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.'” The pro-athlete was referencing Romans 8:28. In that verse, the Apostle Paul spoke directly to Christians, encouraging those who have found salvation through Jesus with the promise that — for them — all things will work out for their good. The verse says, “And we know that, for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Friday, January 9th, in the year of our Lord 2026. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Australia outlaws certain prayers Christian Daily reports that the attorney general of New South Wales, Australia reaffirmed a ban on certain kinds of prayers last week. The southeastern state of Australia enacted a ban on conversion practices earlier this year. The law prohibits “performing a ritual, such as an exorcism or prayer-based practice to change or suppress someone's sexual orientation or gender identity.” Lyle Shelton is the national director of the Family First Australia political party. He wrote online, “Some prayers are now illegal in New South Wales. If a mum, dad, pastor, or friend prays with someone who asks for help to follow God's Word, they could face sanction.” Shelton called for people to pray as the early church did in Acts 4:29. The verse says, “Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word.” Israel carried out a strike on Hamas leaders in Qatar yesterday. Israel carried out a strike on Hamas leaders in Qatar yesterday. Hamas said the attack killed five members but did not kill the negotiating delegation. The delegation was meeting in Qatar's capital of Doha to consider a U.S. proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza. It appears to be the first time Israel carried out an attack in Qatar. However, it's not Israel's first strike outside its borders recently. Israel carried out strikes on Hamas leaders in Lebanon and Iran last year. 10,000 Brits march for life About 10,000 Brits participated in the March for Life United Kingdom on Saturday. The event started with church and prayer services followed by the march and speeches from pro-life leaders. Carla Lockhart, Chair of the Pro-Life Parliamentary Group, addressed the crowd. SPEAKER: “Ladies and gentlemen, young people, boys and girls, what a privilege it is to stand before you today in the streets of London. “I traveled from Northern Ireland this morning to stand in solidarity with you, fellow campaigners, who speak up for life. “Friends, today's theme is human rights for all humans. Then surely this simple truth must be the foundation upon which we build. The most basic human right is the right to life.” Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, the co-director of March for Life, spoke at the event. She had previously faced arrest for praying silently outside an abortion mill. Vaughan-Spruce reflected on the success of the march. She said, “Whilst the center of London seemed to have erupted in chaos on Saturday, with police desperately trying to control various protests and arresting hundreds of people, the pro-life crowd exemplified the peace and joy of those who are confident that that their cause is just, and their hope is rooted in something greater than politics.” Trump announces protection of prayer in public schools In the United States, President Donald Trump addressed the Religious Liberty Commission at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. on Monday. Trump announced that the Department of Education will soon issue new guidance protecting the right to prayer in public schools. Listen to comments from President Trump. TRUMP: “When faith gets weaker, our country seems to get weaker. When faith gets stronger, as it is right now, we're having a very good period of time, after some rough years. “Under the Trump administration, we're defending our rights and restoring our identity as a nation under God. We are one nation under God, and we always will be.” (applause) Psalm 33:12 says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.” Florida first state to end vaccine requirements Florida announced plans last week to become the first state to end vaccine requirements. Not just COVID vaccine requirements, but all vaccine requirements. Listen to comments from Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo. LADAPO: “Your body is a gift from God. What you put into your body, (applause) what you put into your body, is because of your relationship with your body and your God. I don't have that right. Government does not have that right!” The plan includes ending all vaccine mandates for school-aged children. Americans having fewer children And finally, Gallup released a new survey on Americans' ideal family size. On average, U.S. adults think 2.7 is the ideal number of children for a family to have. That's down from 3.6 in the 1950s. Meanwhile, the actual U.S. birth rate is at an all-time low of 1.6 births per woman. That's down from 3.7 in the 1950s. The replacement rate is generally defined as 2 children per woman. The survey notes, “Men, U.S. adults who attend religious services weekly or monthly, Republicans, people of color, and men under age 50 are significantly more likely than their counterparts to prefer three or more children.” Psalm 127:3 says, “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, September 10th, in the year of our Lord 2025. It's Wednesday, May 7th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Ugandan Muslims stabbed evangelist after winning Muslims to Christ Islamists killed a Christian evangelist in Uganda last month after he led several Muslims to Christ. Thirty-eight-year-old David Washume spent three days preaching in eastern Uganda. Many people responded, including some Muslims. Shortly afterward on April 3, masked men stabbed David to death. One person who heard his preaching before he died told Morning Star News, “On the third day the attendance increased in number, and he demanded a response of putting sin to death in their lives, to kill sin and identify themselves with Christ and against Satan, and their voices lifted to Heaven in song.” In Matthew 16:25, Jesus said, “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” Thousands joined Ireland's March for Life Thousands of people joined the March for Life in Dublin, Ireland on Monday. (You can watch the 44-minute rally here). The number of recorded abortions in Ireland rose from over 2,800 in 2018 to over 10,000 in 2023. Newly elected Irish Senator Sarah O'Reilly spoke up for the little ones and for the women who are being sold abortion. O'REILLY: “Every life matters. Women deserve better than abortion. We are here because we know Ireland can be a place where compassion and courage walk hand in hand. Our soaring abortion numbers reveal a tragedy that cannot and must not be ignored any longer.” Senator O'Reilly also addressed the need for conscience protections for pro-life doctors and nurses in Ireland, so that they will not be coerced into participating in surgical and chemical abortions. O'REILLY: “In addition to the terrible loss of life from the abortions that will take place, there are not sufficient freedom of conscience protections in place for doctors and other healthcare workers who don't want to facilitate abortions. The lack of transparency surrounding what is happening under the abortion law is allowing coercive abortion practices to operate freely. “Some of you will be aware of the horrific story involving a minor in care who was locked in a room and forced to take an abortion pill. Something is clearly not right in our country when a story like this is relegated to the ‘news in brief' section of a daily newspaper and completely ignored by all the other media outlets.” And Senator O'Reilly referenced the deadly demise of Irish babies with Down Syndrome. O'REILLY: “Up to 95% of unborn babies diagnosed with Down Syndrome at the hospital now end up being aborted. When that announcement was made, there was no outrage, no expressions of remorse by the architects of Ireland's new abortion regime.” Trump's new religious liberty commission In the United States, President Donald Trump established a religious liberty commission by Executive Order last Thursday. The commission consists of 14 members, including evangelist Franklin Graham, Dr. Ben Carson, Christian writer and talk show host Eric Metaxas, and First Liberty Institute President Kelly Shackelford. Trump directed the commission to evaluate threats to religious liberty. Specifically, he wants the commission to address the challenges to the First Amendment rights of pastors, attacks across America on houses of worship, the debanking of religious entities, and challenges to parental authority to direct the education of their children, including the right to choose a religious education. Listen to comments made by Texas Republican Lieutenant Gov. Dan Patrick. PATRICK: “We were a nation birthed by prayer, founded on the Judeo-Christian ethic to ensure that people could worship as they wished without interference from government. But that is no longer the case. “The last administration attacked people of faith for four years. There's a saying that ‘No one should get between a doctor and a patient.' I think we would say, ‘No one should get between God and a believer. (applause) No one should get between God and those seeking Him.” Supreme Court allows Trump ban on transgender soldiers In a 6-3 vote on Tuesday, the U.S. Supreme allowed the Trump administration to implement a ban on transgender troops. At issue is an Executive Order from Trump which stated, “A man's assertion that he is a woman, and his requirement that others honor this falsehood, is not consistent with the humility and selflessness required of a service member.” The Supreme Court's decision could lead to the discharge of thousands of military personnel. 177,000 jobs added in April; Unemployment at 4.2% American job growth was stronger than expected last month. The U.S economy added 177,000 jobs in April. The unemployment rate remained low at 4.2%. Seema Shah, chief global strategist at Principal Asset Management, noted, “We can push recession concerns to another month. Job numbers remain very strong, suggesting there was an impressive degree of resilience in the economy in play before the tariff shock.” Trump considers 100% tariff on foreign movies Speaking of tariffs, President Trump announced a potential 100% tariff on foreign movies on Sunday. The tax could apply to films produced abroad and sent into the U.S. Trump said, “We want movies made in America, again!” Only 66% of Americans identify as Christian today And finally, Christian pollster George Barna released his latest report on the American worldview. The study found 66% of U.S. adults describe Christianity as their faith, down from 72% in 2020. Meanwhile, non-Christian faiths have grown significantly. Buddhism has grown 56%; Judaism by 21%; and Islam by 12%. And people who identify as having no faith grew 10%, outnumbering Catholics now. Furthermore, only 18% of adults consistently rely upon the Bible to discern moral and spiritual truth. Isaiah 55:6-7 says, “Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, May 7th, in the year of our Lord 2025.
