With Jo we discussed today different approaches towards the support for the airline sector, namely we touched UK, Finland and Norway. We also mentioned the 737MAX saga and when it is expected to end. Last but not least, we stressed the enormous importance of aviation that brings people home from various parts of the world and provide inevitable infrastructure for transport of medical supplies. Jo also shared some specific and pretty rare stories in this aspect.
Hi y’all! Jordan Schilleci here with the first episode of With Jo. I hope y’all stick around for at least the next 31 days, as I document a little challenge I have set before me. This episode is an introduction to me and my life. Be sure to follow me on Instagram @JordanSchilleci.
Happy New Year and hope everyone has had a great holiday! Like we did last episode, and before we get back to our usual programming next week, we're switching things up for one more special episode with an interview that originally aired on The Music Life Coach Podcast, featuring host Jo Janzen interviewing Canadian Musician Senior Editor and CM Podcast co-host Mike Raine about his article, "Music Is Facing a Mental Health Crisis." With Jo, Mike discusses his research and reporting for the article, which examines the critical issue of mental health among professional touring musicians. They look at the alarming stats on musicians’ mental health and reasons they suffer from significantly higher rates of depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts; the insights Mike gleaned from the musicians and experts he spoke with; and what can be done to address the problem at both the industry and personal level. Plus, Jo offers some insights and advice of her own, drawn from her experiences as an artist and those of some of her clients. Check out Mike's article, "Music Is Facing a Mental Health Crisis” Learn more about The Music Life Coach Podcast at: https://musiclifecoach.joannejanzen.com/templates/blog/podcast/

Full Show Notes at: https://www.josephinebrooks.co.uk/podcast You can follow us both on Instagram here @ochreandflax and @JosephinePBrooks Jo’s experienced what it’s like to run a business the busy way, working all hours and weekends with no sign of let up. Jo and her family decided it was time to make a conscious shift to a slower and simpler life. It wasn’t just her lifestyle that changed but also the way that she was working (as we discuss in this episode, the two are very much tied together when you run your own business from home). With Jo’s business now, Ochre & Flax she’s taken the slow business route and found not only a less stressful and more sustainable way to grow a business but lots of other unexpected benefits as well. That's what we're discussing in this episode and lots more on the subject of slow business and intentional living. Enjoy!
With Jo and Simon off this week. We take a look back at some Classic Confessions from the last few years. In this episode Kim seeks forgiveness for her ‘Billy Goat Gaffe’ story (sadly it’s not THAT famous goat confession); Caz shares the story of her husband’s hairy reveal in ‘The Hair Bare Bunch’; Davy Jones confesses his tipsy tale ‘The Crate Unknown’ and Mozz spills the curry beans in his hilarious university Confession ‘Yellow’. If you have a Confession you’d like to share, or want to get in touch email confessions@bbc.co.uk.
With Jo on holiday, James takes the opportunity for a cosy chat with a former colleague: BRIDES magazine editor Jade Beer, whose debut novel The Almost Wife is out now. James and Jade talk about making work/life/family balance work when you live between London and the Cotswolds, the realities of magazine editorship vs the glossy image, and how to write a novel on your train journey (and resist the temptation just to watch Netflix instead). And of course, there are some vital topics to discuss: so is it just James who breathes a sigh of relief when he gets an invitation to a child-free wedding? Is it just Jade who gets incredibly hangry? And is it just James who hates a limp massage? This week's episode was recorded in the BRIDES offices on August 20 by James Williams. It was edited by Kat Brown, with music by Martin Austwick.
