What do you do when the things you have devoted your life to leave you feeling empty? In Acts 14, Paul brings a message that cuts to the heart of that question: there is one true God, the maker of heaven and earth, and everything else we place in his seat is a vain and worthless substitute.Good things become destructive when they become ultimate things. Career, family, achievement, reputation, none of these were designed to carry the weight of your soul. Only the living God can do that. The good news is that instead of demanding more from you, God sent his Son to do what you could not do. Jesus took your burden, rose from the grave, and offers you rest (Matthew 11:28-30). That is not too good to be true, it's the Gospel!

The book of Acts ends with a strong phrase: "without hindrance." Despite Paul being chained in prison, the gospel continued to advance unhindered. The story didn't end with the apostles, it continues through us today. We're called to expect difficulty, witness boldly, and hope eternally. The gospel has spread from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth through generations of faithful believers. Now it's our turn. This isn't someone else's responsibility. It's ours. How will you write the next chapter?Acts 1:8 reminds us: "You will be my witnesses...to the ends of the earth." The story of Jesus continues in you, through your prayers, your boldness to share faith, your care for others, and your invitation to experience God's love. What will be said about how God worked in you and through you?
