In this gripping episode, Jenilee sits down with Steve Kang to explore his radical journey from devout Buddhism into a near-death encounter that he says took him through hell and heaven. Raised and trained in Buddhism, Steve struggled with deep questions about justice and suffering. But at age 19, after a drug overdose laced with multiple substances, he spiraled into spiritual darkness, demonic encounters, and an experience he describes as “eight hours in hell.”Steve shares how deception shaped his early worldview, what he believes opened the door to spiritual warfare in his life, and how Jesus intervened during the overdose and the eight-hour surgery that followed. He also recounts a later vision of heaven that transformed his understanding of God, Scripture, and the urgency of discipleship. This conversation goes beyond the near-death event itself. Jenilee and Steve unpack why many Christians drift into passive faith, why discipleship is non-negotiable, and how believers can move from spiritual complacency into Spirit-led transformation. What We Cover in This EpisodeSteve's early life in Buddhism and training under monksThe spiritual crisis his family experienced after financial collapseHow addiction and hopelessness pushed him toward destructive choicesThe overdose that led to demonic encounters and a suicide attemptWhat Steve says he experienced during “8 hours in hell”The intercessors who prayed during his life-or-death surgeryHis encounter with Jesus and the moment he surrenderedA vision of heaven nine months later and its impact on his callingWhy discipleship matters more than weekly church attendanceThe dangers of “Christianity without transformation”What spiritual mentorship really looks likeWhy Steve rejects universalism and emphasizes the seriousness of eternityHow believers can cultivate a Spirit-led life instead of driftingGET STEVE'S BOOK:Book: 8 Hours in Hell (formerly A Testimony and the Spirit-Filled and Biblical Christian Life)If You're New to FaithSteve shared a prayer at the end of this episode for those ready to begin following Jesus. Luke 2:25-32Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord's Messiah. Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying:“Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.”
In this week's podcast Aaron attempts to discover the essence of worship. He asks his wife, the president and the president's daughter. He even asks the musical prodigy Ben (but you'll have to email Aaron for the link to that interview aaron@loveandpurity.com) Just in case you're short on time, the key takeaway is removing “me” from worship. Shifting your focus to God, and not on ourselves. Not our ability to sing or play an instrument, but to truly pour ourselves out before an almighty God. Make sure to watch for insights on how to actually do this. Be blessed!

"I'm half in the bag," said the intoxicated Julia Roberts in the movie clip. And is this a message for the church? ---------- Why did Episode 394 disappear almost as fast as it was posted? Because I sounded strangely intoxicated—yet I hadn't had a drop. Only later did I realize the Holy Spirit was using that moment to steer me toward this far more important episode. Here, I'm back in the impartial referee uniform, not rooting for a side, just holding up the puzzle pieces. And what they reveal about the Church today is unsettling. It all started when I watched four unrelated movies that turned out to share the same core scene: a woman devoted to the wrong man, getting drunk, and suddenly recognizing the right one. That pattern wasn't random. It was biblical. enjoy the podcast! ---------- Share Your Story If you have a Touched by Heaven moment that you would like to share with Trapper, please leave us a note at https://touchedbyheaven.net/contact Our listeners look forward to hearing about life-changing encounters and miraculous stories every week. How can waiting become joyful instead of anxious? Elizabeth's Spirit-filled response to Mary shows us the heart of true worship. When we recognize Jesus as Lord, our waiting transforms into celebration of God's presence among us. Christian community amplifies this joy, emboldening our faith as we witness God at work in others' lives. Listen now and be inspired to embrace your role in God's redemptive mission with active, joyful participation.
At the heart of this message lies a profound invitation to step into the realm of the supernatural through faith and trust in God. Drawing from John 14:1, we're reminded that in our Father's house there are many roomsmore blessings, more miracles, more provision than we've yet discovered. The central theme challenges us to move beyond anxiety and fear, especially in an era saturated with troubling news and pessimistic forecasts, and instead embrace a posture of expectant faith. We're called to believe that God wants to visit us with healings, miracles, and unexplainable breakthroughs that can only be attributed to His power. The message weaves together powerful testimonies of supernatural healingfrom cancer disappearing to AIDS being cured through water baptismdemonstrating that the same God who performed miracles decades ago is still moving today. What makes this particularly relevant is the acknowledgment that miracles often come after difficult reports: the diagnosis precedes the healing, the struggle precedes the victory. We're encouraged to stop letting podcasters, news cycles, and cultural prophets of doom diminish our faith, and instead return to the simplicity of prayer and Scripture. The call is clear: make room for the supernatural in our everyday lives, believe that nothing is too hard for God, and watch as He transforms impossibilities into testimonies that leave even skeptics saying, 'It had to be God.'
In this week's podcast titled “Sing!”we explore one of the most repeated invitations in Scripture — to sing. From Deborah's song in Judges to the song of the Lamb in Revelation, the Bible reminds us that singing is more than melody; it's ministry. This episode reflects on passages where God's people lifted their voices in praise, thanksgiving, and victory. We'll talk about why we sing, who we sing to, and what happens when we fill our hearts and minds with songs of worship instead of the noise of the world. You'll also hear how modern science echoes what Scripture has always said — that singing heals, unites, and frees. Because even on the hardest days, when there seems to be no song in your heart… sing anyway.

Today, Pastor Daniel Stevens leads us through Core Value #4: There Should Be a Spirit-Filled, Life-Giving Church in Every Community as part of the Vision Series. He explains how the early believers naturally build and multiply churches because they live out the first three core values—everyone hearing the gospel, believers taking responsibility for their growth, and Christians supporting one another.Pastor Daniel describes how the Jerusalem church experiences something incredible, yet God continues calling them outward. When they stay comfortable, circumstances push them back into mission. We face the same choice today: remain settled or carry God's heart for the one who needs Jesus. When we cheer others on, step into our calling, and partner together through prayer, serving, giving, and inviting, the mission moves forward and lives change.#GoodHopeChurch #PastorDanielStevens #VisionSeries #CoreValue4 #LifeGivingChurch #GoAfterTheOne #UnitedOnMissionSermon Notes: https://link.goodhope.ag/vision25-6-dsGiving Information: https://goodhope.ag/givingSTAY CONNECTEDYoutube: https://youtube.com/GoodHopeChurchInstagram: http://instagram.com/goodhopemnFacebook: http://fb.com/goodhopemn
In this message, Pastor Mike Stevens continues our What Are We Doing? Vision Series by teaching on Core Value #4: There Should Be a Spirit-Filled, Life-Giving Church in Every Community. He shows how Core Values 1–3—sharing the gospel, growing in faith, and walking together—only come to life when healthy, Spirit-led churches are planted and strengthened everywhere.Pastor Mike highlights the tension the early church feels in Jerusalem. They enjoy an amazing, thriving community, but God is calling them to go after the one. Even persecution pushes the mission forward and reminds them of God's heart to seek and save the lost. That same tension exists for us today. When each believer chooses to pray, serve, give, invite, and take action, we unite around the Great Commission and truly row together.#GoodHopeChurch #VisionSeries #CoreValues #SpiritFilledChurch #LeaveThe99 #OnMission #ReachUpRiseUpReachOutSermon Notes: https://link.goodhope.ag/vision25-6Giving Information: https://goodhope.ag/givingSTAY CONNECTEDYoutube: https://youtube.com/GoodHopeChurchInstagram: http://instagram.com/goodhopemnFacebook: http://fb.com/goodhopemn
In this teaching, Pastor Mike Jurek continues the Vision Series by focusing on Core Value #4: There Should Be a Spirit-Filled, Life-Giving Church in Every Community. He points out that Core Values 1–3 take root when vibrant, Spirit-filled churches exist—churches that share the gospel, develop believers, and create communities where no one walks alone.Pastor Mike Jurek shows how the Jerusalem church enjoys an incredible season, but God's mission reaches far beyond one place. When they stay comfortable, the gospel still spreads because God moves them outward. We stand in that same moment now. When we pray, serve, give, invite, and embrace the role God has for each of us, the church becomes united and the mission becomes unstoppable.#GoodHopeChurch #PastorMikeJurek #VisionSeries #MissionFocused #SpiritFilledLiving #ReachTheOne #ChurchInEveryCommunitySermon Notes: https://link.goodhope.ag/vision25-6-mjGiving Information: https://goodhope.ag/givingSTAY CONNECTEDYoutube: https://youtube.com/GoodHopeChurchInstagram: http://instagram.com/goodhopemnFacebook: http://fb.com/goodhopemn
Acts 11:19-30Now those who had been scattered by the persecution that broke out when Stephen was killed traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch, spreading the word only among Jews. Some of them, however, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus. The Lord's hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.News of this reached the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord. Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.During this time some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. One of them, named Agabus, stood up and through the Spirit predicted that a severe famine would spread over the entire Roman world. (This happened during the reign of Claudius.) The disciples, as each one was able, decided to provide help for the brothers and sisters living in Judea. This they did, sending their gift to the elders by Barnabas and Saul.
This powerful message centers on the transformative power of persistent, insistent faiththe kind that refuses to give up even when circumstances seem impossible. Drawing from Luke 18's parable of the persistent widow, we're challenged to move beyond casual, comfortable Christianity into a realm of breakthrough that belongs only to those who consistently knock on heaven's door. The widow's relentless pursuit of justice from an unjust judge becomes our model: if even an uncaring human eventually responds to persistence, how much more will our loving Father respond to our continual prayers? We're invited to examine whether we've stopped praying about things simply because we haven't seen immediate results, and to recognize that consistencyin prayer, in faith, in giving, in expectationis the key that unlocks miraculous provision. The message reminds us that insistent faith isn't begging God; it's reminding ourselves of His covenant promises and proving to ourselves that we truly want what we're asking for. When we show up week after week, when we give even in famine seasons like Isaac did, when we reach for our miracle like the woman with the issue of blood, we're not wearing God outwe're demonstrating the kind of shameless persistence that moves heaven on our behalf.

During this message, we looked at Exodus chapter 31 to see the story of God choosing Bezalel to lead the building of the temple. The “ordinary” worker was …handpicked by God and a core contributor. This weekend, Pastor Andrew Kurtz guided us through these two important points as we continued our new Unsung Heroes series. This week be encouraged to dedicate your work to God.
Life has a way of moving in seasons rather than just days and months. Sometimes we find ourselves on the mountaintop, and other times we're deep in the valley, wrapped in what feels like a straitjacket of doubt and discouragement. But Romans 15:13 offers us a powerful promise: the God of hope can fill us with complete happiness and peace through our faith, and the Holy Spirit can cause us to overflow with hope. This isn't wishful thinking or blind optimism. The Greek word for hope here means 'expectation of what is sure.' We're not hoping for a maybe; we're expecting something certain. God doesn't peddle false hope or shallow encouragement. He offers real, tangible hope that we can build our lives upon. The key is understanding that faith is the currency that moves God's economy. It's not our need that necessarily moves God, but our trust in Him. When we give Him our discouragement, He offers overflowing joy. When we give Him our fear, He gives confidence. When we give Him our brokenness, He gives healing. This is a lopsided exchange where we always win. We don't have to stay stuck in despair. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can experience levels of hope and joy that transcend our human ability to manufacture them. The question is: will we trust Him enough to receive it?

Acts 9:1-22But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him. And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. But rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.” The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one. Saul rose from the ground, and although his eyes were opened, he saw nothing. So they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus. And for three days he was without sight, and neither ate nor drank. Now there was a disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.” And the Lord said to him, “Rise and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying, and he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him so that he might regain his sight.” But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to your saints at Jerusalem. And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.” But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel. For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.” So Ananias departed and entered the house. And laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road by which you came has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he rose and was baptized; and taking food, he was strengthened. For some days he was with the disciples at Damascus. And immediately he proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God.” And all who heard him were amazed and said, “Is not this the man who made havoc in Jerusalem of those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for this purpose, to bring them bound before the chief priests?” But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus was the Christ.
What is a Healthy Christian? (Ephesians 6:1-4) - Pastor Terry Ayers, Tabor Church
Sunday Morning Message | 1 Corinthians 12:12-20 | November 9, 2025
This powerful message reminds us that seeking counsel isn't a sign of weaknessit's actually a mark of wisdom and spiritual maturity. Drawing from Isaiah 9:6, we're invited to understand Jesus not just as Savior, but as our Wonderful Counselor who knows us more intimately than anyone else ever could. The sermon unpacks three compelling reasons why we need counsel: we don't know what we don't know, there's safety in wise advisors, and counsel provides direction for growth. What's particularly striking is how this teaching affirms that Jesus speaks to us through multiple channelsthrough prayer and Scripture, yes, but also through Christian counselors, pastors, small groups, worship music, and even everyday conversations in church hallways. The message challenges a false dichotomy many of us have held: that seeking professional help somehow means we lack faith. Instead, we're encouraged to see therapists, financial advisors, marriage counselors, and other helpers as tools in Jesus' toolbox. He uses them to reach us where we are. The key is ensuring our counsel is rooted in biblical truth and godly principles. This isn't about replacing Jesusit's about recognizing all the ways He chooses to minister to us. When we humble ourselves enough to admit we need help, we position ourselves to receive the multifaceted wisdom God wants to pour into our lives.

Acts 8:26-40Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake (which means “queen of the Ethiopians”). This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship, and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah the prophet. The Spirit told Philip, “Go to that chariot and stay near it.”Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.“How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. This is the passage of Scripture the eunuch was reading: “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth. In his humiliation he was deprived of justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth.”The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?”Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus. As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?”And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing. Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he reached Caesarea.
Acts shows us what happens when ordinary people are filled with the Holy Spirit and sent by Jesus. The gospel advances not through comfort or human strength, but through surrendered lives and bold witness. As we follow Paul's journey to Rome and the early church's testimony, we are reminded that the same Spirit empowers us today to share Christ and make disciples wherever we go.
A spirit-filled church is not the same as a collective of spirit-filled individuals.
Sunday Morning Message - "Spirit-Filled Parenting"In this message from November 2, Pastor Kyle explores God's design for the parent-child relationship and how biblical parenting reflects our relationship with Him. We learn that parenting isn't just about raising better kids—it's about displaying Christ to the next generation. Paul's household codes in Ephesians show us that when parents display obedience to God, it disciples their children toward obedience. Our marriages and our walk with Christ become our loudest witness to our children. This passage calls children to obey and honor their parents "in the Lord," while challenging fathers (and all parents) not to provoke their children but to bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. There's something profoundly beautiful about the way God designed families to work. Not just as biological units sharing the same last name, but as spiritual incubators where faith is caught as much as it's taught. The relationships between parents and children aren't merely about keeping order in the home—they're about displaying something far greater: the very nature of God's kingdom.
