For the past half decade or more, conservative intellectuals have tried to answer the question: Where did woke come from? Some believe it is rebranded cultural Marxism. Others say it came from academia with the postmodern rejection of objective truth ultimately leading to the weaponization of culture. Maybe it came from the global corporations because woke is the ideology of the new managerial elite in late-stage neo-liberalism. But perhaps “woke” and its offspring like “cancel culture” came from something called “The Great Feminization.” Helen Andrews, author of “Boomers: The Men and Women Who Promised Freedom and Delivered Disaster,” recently wrote an essay called “The Great Feminization,” a term borrowed from the pseudonymous online writer J Stone, that explains how “woke” is “an epiphenomenon of demographic feminization.” She joins “The Signal Sitdown” this week to discuss. “We had a big fight called feminism in the 1970s over whether or not we thought women could be lawyers. And we decided that they could, and that's great,” Andrews explained. “But it took a long time to go from token representation of the kind that was achieved in the heyday of second wave feminism to what we have now.” Keep Up With The Daily Signal Sign up for our email newsletters: https://www.dailysignal.com/email Subscribe to our other shows: The Tony Kinnett Cast: https://megaphone.link/THEDAILYSIGNAL2284199939 The Signal Sitdown: https://megaphone.link/THEDAILYSIGNAL2026390376 Problematic Women: https://megaphone.link/THEDAILYSIGNAL7765680741 Victor Davis Hanson: https://megaphone.link/THEDAILYSIGNAL9809784327 Follow The Daily Signal: X: https://x.com/intent/user?screen_name=DailySignal Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thedailysignal/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheDailySignalNews/ Truth Social: https://truthsocial.com/@DailySignal YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/dailysignal?sub_confirmation=1 Subscribe on your favorite podcast platform and never miss an episode. Is there any hope for those who have never heard about Jesus Christ? In this encouraging message, Pastor Jeff Schreve shares God's truth on this important matter. Barney Riggs was one of the Old West's most notorious and controversial gunfighters. Born in Arkansas in 1856, Riggs moved to Texas as a child, where violence quickly became a family tradition. At just 18, he killed a friend in what was called an accidental shooting. By his twenties, Riggs was in Arizona, working as a cowboy, stealing horses, and allegedly committing multiple murders. After being convicted of murder and sentenced to life at Yuma Prison, Riggs won a full pardon by saving the warden's life during a bloody escape attempt. He returned to Texas, where he continued his violent ways, becoming embroiled in the infamous Frazer-Miller feud and serving as a deputy under a controversial sheriff. Repeated arrests, deadly shootouts, and family drama followed Riggs until his tragic demise in 1902. Have you ever wondered what happens to those who've never heard the gospel—are they still accountable to God? In Romans 2:12–16, Paul addresses that very question, showing that God's judgment is fair and based on the truth that each person has received from Him. Today, we'll look at how conscience, morality, and divine justice come together—and what it reveals about God's perfect righteousness.

Your thyroid doesn't work in isolation. It relies on your liver, your bile, and even your gut bacteria to keep hormone conversion running smoothly. In this episode of Thyroid Shorts, Dr. Eric Balcavage explains how thyroid hormone T3 regulates bile acid production, shapes your microbiome, and keeps your gut lining strong in a state of homeostasis. But what happens when stress, inflammation, or the Cell Danger Response lower circulating T3? The liver shifts bile chemistry, gut bugs change, and your barrier can loosen. This isn't necessarily dysfunction — it's your body's intelligent defense mode. Short-term, it helps fight microbes and fuel the immune system. Long-term, it can leave you stuck with fatigue, bloating, constipation, brain fog, and “normal” labs that don't match how you feel. You'll also learn why giving T3 medication in this state can be both helpful and harmful — and why timing, context, and removing the underlying threats matter more than simply “optimizing” your labs. Key topics: How T3 regulates bile acid balance, gut microbes, and barrier function. Why low T3 shifts bile acids toward defense mode (↑CA, ↓CDCA). The adaptive purpose of sluggish bile and reduced conversion. The pros and cons of T3 replacement during inflammation. Clinical guardrails for restoring thyroid health without chasing numbers. www.drericbalcavage.com

Send us a text by clicking this link!A calendar date can feel like a footnote—until you realize it's a battle cry. October 7 isn't just ink on the liturgical page; it's the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, born from the battle of Lepanto, when a divided Europe found the courage to row into the wind. We sat down with historian and translator Ryan Grant to unpack how a six-year Dominican papacy, a “nobody” commander, and a sea full of galleys redirected history—and why the story still reads like a map for our moment. We start with Pope Pius V: a reformer forged by Trent who promulgated the Roman Missal, backed real clerical renewal with St Charles Borromeo, and refused to flatter power. Against a backdrop of French gamesmanship, Protestant pressure, and Spain's global overreach, he formed the Holy League and handed command to Don John of Austria, an illegitimate son with legitimate nerve. Ryan breaks down the fight the way it actually happened: tercios turning decks into battlefields, matchlocks hissing through smoke, Venetian galleasses doing less than legend says, and Ali Pasha betting the center at the wrong time. When El Sultana fell and the standard changed hands, morale cracked and the tide turned. But does Lepanto “matter” if the Ottomans rebuilt a fleet in six months? We tackle the revisionism head-on. Strategy and psychology shifted: no amphibious assault on Italy, no march on Rome, a Mediterranean suddenly contested. Bells rang in hostile lands, and the Church enshrined the memory as Our Lady of Victory—later Our Lady of the Rosary—cementing a devotion that would shape lay prayer for centuries. We explore the rosary's Dominican roots without forcing a neat origin story and get practical about devotion: pray on the commute, love Mary first, learn a saint well enough to ask for help often. Most of all, we take the human lesson home. Don John didn't wait for the perfect hierarchy; he went. If you're looking for permission to begin—prayer, study, service, leadership—consider this your signal. Learn the feast. Know the history. Pick up your beads and move. If this conversation gives you something to chew on, follow the show, share it with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find thoughtful, faith-filled history that speaks to right now.Support the showTake advantage of Recusant Cellar's "Christ the King" sale by heading over to https://recusantcellars.com/ and using code "REXCAELORUM" for 20% off at checkout!********************************************************Please subscribe! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKsxnv80ByFV4OGvt_kImjQ?sub_confirmation=1https://www.avoidingbabylon.comMerchandise: https://avoiding-babylon-shop.fourthwall.comLocals Community: https://avoidingbabylon.locals.comFull Premium/Locals Shows on Audio Podcast: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1987412/subscribeRSS Feed for Podcast Apps: https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1987412.rssRumble: https://rumble.com/c/AvoidingBabylon

Ellen Greenberg Case: The Most Botched Crime Scene Cover-Up You've Never Heard Of What if the crime scene was already erased… before police ever began investigating? In this segment of Hidden Killers Live, we dig deep into the moments that should have triggered a full-blown homicide investigation in the death of Ellen Greenberg — but instead, signaled something very different: silence, shortcuts, and possibly, cover-up. We examine Sam Goldberg's behavior, as witnessed by a building staffer who saw him pacing the hallway, visibly agitated, shouting that he was going to "knock the f---ing door down." And then, we look at what happened after Ellen was pronounced dead — when the police labeled it suicide on scene, and the apartment was released, not preserved. By the very next day, professional crime scene cleaners were scrubbing the apartment. Items were moved. Dishes were run through the dishwasher. And then, a man who wasn't even related to Ellen — her fiancé's uncle — was allowed inside to remove her electronic devices, including laptops and phones, before any forensic work was done. That uncle? A politically connected Philadelphia attorney. From there, it only gets more troubling: • Devices were returned days later, with no clear chain of custody. • The original homicide ruling by the medical examiner was reversed — without new forensic evidence. • Police later cited mental health issues, based on statements from the same person who discovered her. And years later? That same person reportedly never questioned the suicide ruling and told others, “That's just what it was.” This isn't just bad policing. This is what it looks like when a homicide becomes a narrative control exercise. And the closer you look, the worse it gets. Was this a cover-up? Or was it a case of every system doing the wrong thing at the worst possible time? Let's break it down. Sam Goldberg, Ellen Greenberg's fiancé at the time of her death, has never been charged with any crime in connection to this case. He has consistently maintained that Ellen's death was a suicide. All individuals mentioned in this segment are presumed innocent unless proven otherwise.
