It's Witness Wednesday! Segment 1 • Rex confidently says Jesus is Lord—but can he explain why someone should believe that? • What happens when personal testimony isn't enough to persuade a skeptic? • Todd helps Rex move from "Jesus changed my life" to the gospel message that actually saves. Segment 2 • Sean believes heaven and hell are real—but how can anyone know they're truly forgiven? • Can last rites, confession, or religious rituals clear a guilty conscience before God? • Todd and Sean compare Roman Catholicism and biblical Christianity on the question that matters most: How are sinners made right with God? Segment 3 • This Buddhist student has lived in America for two years—and has never heard the gospel. • If Buddhism brings peace and happiness, why would someone need Christianity? • Todd contrasts managing desires with solving humanity's deepest problem: guilt before a holy God. Segment 4 • Casey believes morality is doing what feels right—but who gets the final say on right and wrong? • Raised Southern Baptist, Casey knows church culture but doesn't understand the gospel. • Karma, evolution, religion, and the law of God collide in a conversation about truth, judgment, and forgiveness. ___ Thanks for listening! Before Amityville, before the Warrens, and long before famous hauntings became part of pop culture, there was the Wizard Clip haunting. Dr. Stan Williams joins Jim to dig into this strange and deeply historic case from the 1790s, where a farmer named Adam Livingston found himself at the center of unexplained poltergeist activity, mysterious fabrics cut into crescent shapes, and a haunting that shook an entire community. Dr. Williams, author of the Wizard Clip Haunting trilogy, shares how a possible film project turned into years of research through courthouse records, church archives, old accounts, and one surprising discovery about a key priest in the story. It is part ghost story, part historical mystery, and part spiritual battle, centered on what just might be America's greatest haunting you've never heard of. This is one of the most memorable cases I've encountered in my career as a dog behaviorist. It's a true story about a kind, intelligent man named Tim and his rescue dog Buddy. Despite loving his dog deeply, Tim found himself repeatedly bitten by the very dog he adored. The mystery wasn't why Buddy was biting. The mystery was why Tim couldn't see the warnings that came before the bites. In this episode, I share the surprising discovery that changed everything and the lesson every dog owner can learn from it. Every AI breakthrough you've heard of, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, traces back to a single 1943 paper, and its co-author was a homeless teenage runaway who never finished high school. Walter Pitts taught himself Greek, Latin, and the foundations of modern logic in a Detroit public library, corrected Bertrand Russell's math by letter at age 12, and was taken in by a 45 year old scientist who treated him like a son. He helped found the architecture behind every neural network in existence at 19, and then a single lie destroyed every relationship he had, sending him into a 17 year drinking spiral that ended in a Cambridge boarding house in 1969. In this solo episode, I tell the full story of how Pitts' partnership with neurophysiologist Warren McCulloch produced the unbroken ancestor of the perceptron, backpropagation, and the transformer architecture behind today's large language models, and what happened when a fabricated accusation cut him off from every mentor he had. I lay out the specific conditions, free public libraries, mentors willing to take prodigies seriously, intellectual communities small enough to recognize raw talent, that made a mind like his possible, why those conditions have been dismantled, and what I call the cognitive class war: the widening gap between the small number of people capable of directing artificial intelligence and everyone else whose future it will shape. *Reduce your risk of Alzheimer's with my science-backed protocol for women 30+:*https://go.neuroathletics.com.au/youtube-sales-page Subscribe to The Neuro Experience for evidence-based conversations at the intersection of brain science, longevity, and performance. _____ *TOPICS DISCUSSED*(00:00:00) Intro: The 1943 Paper Behind Every AI Model Today (00:02:53) Walter Pitts Childhood in Depression-Era Detroit (00:03:17) Hiding From Bullies, He Finds Principia Mathematica (00:03:40) A 12-Year-Old Writes to Correct Bertrand Russell (00:06:35) Walter Pitts Meets Warren McCulloch in 1942 (00:08:32) Inside the 1943 Paper That Founded Neural Networks (00:11:17) From the Perceptron to ChatGPT and Claude (00:13:43) Norbert Wiener, MIT, and the Macy Conferences (00:15:05) The 1952 Lie That Destroyed Walter Pitts (00:19:11) Pitts Dies Alone in a Boarding House, 1969 (00:21:46) Five Conditions That Made a Genius Possible (00:24:16) Why Those Conditions No Longer Exist Today (00:33:53) The Cognitive Class War and Who Will Govern AI _______ *Thank you to our sponsors*Cure Hydration: https://www.curehydration.com/ Use code NEURO for 20% offJones Road Beauty: https://www.jonesroadbeauty.com Use code NEURO for a free gift with your orderMomentum: https://momentumshake.com/neuro Get a free Welcome Kit + Travel Collection ($70 value)IQ Bar: https://www.eatiqbar.com/ Text NEURO to 64000 for 20% off plus free shipping _______ I'm Louisa Nicola - clinical neurophysiologist - Alzheimer's prevention specialist - founder of Neuro Athletics. Episode 26-23 The Niacin Sauna Protocol - A Powerful Detox Method You've Never Heard Of! Over the past few months, I've spent a lot of time learning about the negative effects of toxins on our bodies. I've also spent a lot of time studying natural methods we can use to rid ourselves of these toxins. On this week's episode I talk about one such method. A powerful way to rid our bodies of toxins. It's called The Niacin Sauna Protocol and it's something I find fascinating. Why? Because it has the potential to help us rid our bodies of toxins. And not just any toxins… I'm talking about environmental toxins that have become "stuck" deep inside of our cells. To be honest, I have NOT tried the Niacin Sauna Protocol. Nor have I had any of my patients go through it. However, everything I have learned about it… from people who HAVE gone through it… has impressed me. And THAT'S why I'm doing an episode on it. I want you to learn about The Niacin Sauna Protocol with me. You can start by listening to this episode… and then sharing it with a friend. Thanks! ———————- Want to learn more? Circles Off sits down with sharp bettor Thon Misser (@ThonMisser) for a deep dive into how he actually approaches modern betting markets, from live wagering to prediction markets and everything in between. Thon has quietly built a reputation for finding edges in places most bettors ignore — including niche sports like Japanese baseball, reality TV markets, and newer prediction market platforms. In this conversation with Rob Pizzola, he breaks down how he thinks about betting today, where his edge comes from, and why the betting landscape is changing faster than most people realize. We also get into his live betting process, how he structures his week across different sports and markets, and what it really takes to operate at a sharp level in today's environment. Later in the episode, the conversation shifts into prediction markets, insider trading debates, and whether these new formats are going to coexist with or disrupt traditional sportsbooks. This is part of the Circles Off interview series presented by ProphetX, focused on sharp thinking, betting markets, prediction markets, and real process-driven discussion. If you're interested in sports betting, prediction markets, live betting strategy, or how sharp bettors actually think, this episode delivers a rare inside look.

There is a very loud version of entrepreneurship online right now: quit the job, burn the safety net, go all in, and figure it out later. I get the appeal. I also think that advice can get expensive very quickly, especially when the business has not been validated yet. Mike Shannon joins me to talk about the much messier, smarter side of starting a business. Mike has built multiple companies, appeared on Shark Tank, worked in AI, and wrote Sweaty Equity, a book about the unglamorous middle of entrepreneurship. His story is not the polished founder myth. It is Shark Tank one day, Chicago Bulls laundry room the next, then years of pivots, investor pressure, customer discovery, and learning how to actually build something that works. If you are a corporate professional, side hustler, first-time founder, or future entrepreneur wondering whether you should quit your job to start a business, this conversation is your reality check. We talk about why keeping your day job can create runway, why "build the thing, sell the thing" matters more than startup hype, and how to use messy action without blowing up your career stability. Inside this episode • Why quitting your job too early can create unnecessary founder pressure • How Mike Shannon went from Shark Tank with Mark Cuban to the Chicago Bulls laundry room • Why business validation matters more than investor validation • The simple startup framework: build the thing, sell the thing • How customer discovery helps you avoid forcing the wrong idea into the market • What Sweaty Equity reveals about the messy middle of entrepreneurship What's one "corporate game" rule you've learned the hard way?
Every genre has a shadow canon — the writers who don't make the syllabus, don't sell out on Amazon, and rarely get the Netflix series. In science fiction, that shadow canon is where some of the most intellectually adventurous, politically serious and formally daring work of the twentieth century was done. Having opened the series with the big names — Wells, Verne, Poe, the Mount Rushmore of the genre — John and Ezri jump forward to the late 1960s and 1970s and turn to five authors most listeners won't know: Kate Wilhelm, Joanna Russ, John Sladek, John Brunner and Christopher Priest. Feminist SF, satirical SF, dystopian SF set in a Britain going to the dogs. The thread that connects them is "prescience", a word that keeps coming up. Were these writers really predicting the future – or just paying close enough attention to the present? In this episode: Why 1969 makes such a strange hinge point — Apollo 11 and the realisation of Goddard's cherry-tree dream, set against the assassinations of 1968, Vietnam, Prague, Altamont, and the first wave of environmental science Kingsley Amis, New Maps of Hell, and the New Wave: Moorcock's New Worlds, Ballard's "inner space", and SF's discovery that it could not avoid politics Kate Wilhelm — Hugo, Nebula and Locus winner for Where Late the Sweet Birds Sang, a co-founder of the Clarion Writers' Workshop who is now better known as a mystery writer Joanna Russ — The Female Man, written in 1970 but unpublished until 1975, and How to Suppress Women's Writing; a Westinghouse Science Talent Search finalist who chose literature as her weapon John Sladek — the satirist whose robot in Tik-Tok has had its "asimov circuits" go on the blink, and whose hoax book on a thirteenth sign of the zodiac proved people will believe anything stated with enough confidence John Brunner — the "Club of Rome Quartet", the novel that coined "worm" for self-replicating code, and Stand on Zanzibar, set in 2010 and unsettlingly familiar by the time we got there Christopher Priest — Fugue for a Darkening Island and A Dream of Wessex, the racial framing Priest himself later grappled with, and The Prestige (with David Bowie as Tesla) The big question under all of it: what is the difference between prescience and prediction — and is it significant that "prescience" contains the word "science"? What if you could buy a cash-flowing short-term rental for $40,000? Not in a random flyover market, not with a ton of risk, but in one of the most visited tourist destinations on the planet. That's exactly what Nick and Derek of Yuki Homes discovered after following their passion for skiing to Japan and spotting an opportunity most Western investors have completely overlooked. In this episode, Cory sits down with the duo to unpack how a shared love of powder days turned into a full-blown real estate operation, and how they built the team, systems, and infrastructure to allow investors from the United States and beyond to own and operate profitable short-term rentals in Japan, completely remotely. We get into how Nick and Derek met, what drove them to build Yuki Homes together, and why Japan stands out as one of the most underrated STR markets in the world. Think affordable entry points, strong year-round demand, and a tourism market that keeps growing. If you have ever felt priced out of short-term rental investing in the U.S., or you are simply looking for a creative way to diversify your real estate portfolio internationally, this episode is going to open your eyes to a market you probably never had on your radar. Stephanie brings a unique perspective to breastfeeding and postpartum support by combining occupational therapy expertise with lactation consulting. After 9+ years in the NICU and her own breastfeeding journey with her premature son in 2023, she's committed to helping families navigate lactation and infant development with confidence and compassion. In this episode, we talk about what a session with Stephanie looks like, prenatal prep, postpartum red flags, and why asking for help isn't optional—it's essential. Key TakeawaysBefore Baby Arrives: 3 Powerful Prenatal ChoicesTake a prenatal lactation class — Most insurance covers it. Being prepped gives you options and confidence.Get your breast pump early (33-34 weeks) — Insurance usually covers it. Don't wait until you need it.Leverage your insurance — Most plans cover prenatal classes AND pumps. That's free education and equipment. After Baby Arrives: 3 Powerful Reasons to Ask for HelpAsk for help. You need rest. You need support. There's no medal for doing it alone. If you're experiencing pain, reach out immediately. Pain is NOT normal. A qualified IBCLC can help.If something feels off with baby, get assessed. Clicking, gulping, arching, popping on and off—reach out to a professional."You don't have to push through the pain. You don't have to do it alone. Ask for help, and let people come alongside you." - Stephanie Wong, Certified NICU OT & Lactation ConsultantWhat to Look for in a Lactation ConsultantSeek an IBCLC over a CLC. IBCLCs have more rigorous training standards.Consider booking postpartum support privately. Hospital LCs have time constraints; private sessions offer more thorough care.In-person or virtual? Newly released documents from the Epstein Files Transparency Act trove reveal that Jeffrey Epstein was the subject of a previously undisclosed U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) investigation, according to a heavily redacted 2015 memo included in the government's files. The 69-page memorandum, marked “law enforcement sensitive,” shows Epstein was one of 15 people targeted in a probe focused on “suspicious money transfers” that federal agents believed were tied to illicit drug trafficking and prostitution activities in both the U.S. Virgin Islands and New York City, raising questions about whether Epstein's criminal conduct may have extended beyond his well-known sex trafficking offenses. The document, drafted after the DEA requested information from a multi-agency Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force, suggests a significant investigation that spanned five years from 2010 to 2015, although many details and the identities of other targets remain redacted. The existence of this DEA inquiry adds a new dimension to the public understanding of Epstein's activities and how thoroughly federal authorities were examining various aspects of his operations. While the later, better-known 2019 prosecution focused on sex trafficking and did not publicly include drug trafficking charges, the DEA memo indicates that investigators had been pursuing a potentially broader case years earlier. The revelations have prompted renewed scrutiny from lawmakers and law enforcement observers about what the newly released records might yet reveal about Epstein's financial networks and whether narcotics trafficking played any role in his criminal enterprise.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Newly unearthed DEA document from Epstein files raises question: Did Epstein facilitate drug trafficking? - CBS NewsBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.
In this chilling episode of Somewhere in the Skies, Ryan explores three little known UFO encounters that continue to challenge explanation decades later. From a wave of mysterious disc sightings sweeping across Idaho during the summer of 1947, to a terrifying close encounter between a Uruguayan naval corporal and strange humanoid beings beneath a remote lighthouse, to the haunting abduction account of Charles Moody in the deserts of New Mexico, each case reveals the deeply human impact of the UFO phenomenon. Blending historical research, witness testimony, and enduring mystery, these forgotten encounters remind us that some of the most compelling UFO stories are the ones history nearly left behind. In a recorded jailhouse call, Richard Allen asked his own father how much longer he could stay lucid. That call was excluded from trial. The jury that convicted him on a 130-year sentence never heard it. But three judges at the Indiana Court of Appeals are now reading the full record — including the calls the jury didn't get and the confessions that don't match the forensic evidence.Allen told a prison psychiatrist he shot Abby Williams and Libby German. The medical examiner determined they were killed with a blade. The State played one jailhouse call for the jury and excluded two others. The voluntariness of Allen's statements is now a question three judges have to answer, and the excluded calls speak directly to his mental state when those statements were made.Defense attorney Bob Motta joins Tony Brueski to walk through what the selective admission of Allen's calls means at the appellate level. He also addresses the alternative suspect whose interview was allegedly recorded over by investigators — weapon never collected, phone never searched — and the van timeline the defense says FBI cell data and surveillance footage contradict.Indiana's response brief met most of these challenges with procedural objections rather than factual engagement. Filed wrong. Argued too late. Harmless error. The defense has formally requested oral arguments. Indiana has not. Meanwhile, the search warrant that produced the .40-caliber pistol faces de novo review — no deference owed to the trial judge. If it fails, the weapon is gone from any future proceeding.Allen sits in an Oklahoma prison more than a thousand miles from Indiana. Three judges are reading. A decision is coming.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? For those who like its earthy flavor, the humble beet can do a lot for a salad or a soup. But could it help end slavery? In the 1800s, one woman believed it could—and she wasn't just any old woman. This episode, meet Lydia Maria Child, who wrote the first children's periodical magazine, the first New England historical novel, and one of America's first successful self-help books—all before she turned thirty, in an era where women were still considered property. This episode, we've got the fascinating story of why she bet big on beets, as well as how, more than a century later, Wolfgang Puck and Martha Stewart paired this much maligned vegetable with goat cheese to spark today's beet renaissance. Meanwhile, for the haters among us: is it possible to de-beet the beet, and get rid of that earthy flavor altogether? Listen in now as we meet the astonishing Lydia Maria Child, in the curious tale of the beet. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
