Sometimes being “nice” isn't so nice—it's self-abandonment in disguise. In this episode, we learn about the fourth trauma response from Dr. Ingrid Clayton, a licensed clinical psychologist, trauma recovery expert, and author of Fawning: Why the Need to Please Makes Us Lose Ourselves and How to Find Our Way Back. Ingrid brings over 20 years of clinical experience helping people break free from trauma responses that no longer serve them. Her Psychology Today blog, Emotional Sobriety, has reached over a million readers, and her work has become a lifeline for anyone ready to stop twisting themselves into knots just to feel safe, seen, or accepted. Together, we dig into the lesser-known trauma response of fawning—what it really looks like, how it shows up in women's lives, and how it's different from (but connected to) codependency and people-pleasing. More importantly, Ingrid shares how to start unfawning so you can reclaim your voice, your needs, and your full self. We cover: The difference between compassion and compulsion How fawning hides in plain sight as “being nice” or “helpful” Why women are especially conditioned to default to fawning How to notice when you're fawning in real time Practical ways to build internal safety and stop outsourcing your worth Because survival mode kept you safe, but it will never help you thrive. Did you guys know about this one? I didn't!In 2018, as part of the Nitro Circus Live tours, the crew rolled into Paris and had one of the biggest competitions that never happened. As comps go, we think of X Games, X-Fighters, Night of the Jumps or even Nitro World Games. But this time in 2018, with Tom Pages present on his home turf, Travis Pastrana and the crew set about creating one of the biggest comps that was really just for the Paris crowd on the night.Until now, Clint Esposito and I have our grubby little hands on some epic footage thanks to John Mathews giving us a heads up. And it was pretty epic!Bilko with the One-handed Nac 360, Tom casually throwing body varials and Travis landing his Double Backy 360 on pedal power.Riders in:Travis PastranaBlake WilliamsJosh SheehanTom PagesGregg DuffyAdam JonesHarry BinkJarryd McNeilBeau BambergJaie TooheyRyan WilliamsBeaver FlemingDusty WygleJed MildonTodd MeynMatt WhyattAndy Buckworth

On May 18th, 1927, a quiet Michigan farming town was torn apart when school board treasurer Andrew Kehoe wired a local school with dynamite, murdering 45 people—including 38 children—in the deadliest act of school violence in U.S. history. What began as a summer morning of finals and playground chants ended in fire, rubble, and screams that still echo nearly a century later. In this unique episode of Fitness Business Insights with Matt Robinson, I share a full interview I recently recorded for the new podcast Make Life Better by Design, hosted by my long-time PT client and former architect, Kevin Drayton. This conversation is unlike anything we've shared before — not strictly about business or fitness, but about design as a way of thinking, living, and coaching. From my early days in strength & conditioning, to how I view coaching as a form of problem-solving, we explore how principles of design show up in everything from PT programming to identity, routine, and long-term health. If you're curious about the thinking behind the coaching, this one is worth a listen. What You'll Learn✅ Why I believe every coach is a designer (whether they know it or not)✅ The mindset shift I made going from elite athletes to everyday clients✅ How I map skills from one area of life into another✅ What I look for when building retention and trust with clients✅ Thoughts on AI, trust, social media, and the future of coaching✅ Why education needs to be completely redesigned for the world aheadResources & Links

On March 28th, 1979, the United States came terrifyingly close to a full-scale nuclear catastrophe. The Three Mile Island meltdown in Pennsylvania was supposed to be “contained,” with officials insisting that no serious harm was done. That's the story we were told. But behind the official narrative lies a trail of cancer clusters, silenced victims, and a government desperate to bury the truth. In this episode, I sit down with a whistleblower who lived through it all, and her testimony paints a far darker picture than anything admitted to the public. - SUBSCRIBE TO "THE CONSPIRACY FILES" on YouTube!: https://www.youtube.com/@UCsYWvjBZc6nhVspRKh9BppQ - LISTEN TO "THE CONSPIRACY FILES" WHEREVER YOU GET YOUR PODCASTS!: -Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/5IY9nWD2MYDzlSYP48nRPl -Apple Podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-conspiracy-files/id1752719844 -Amazon/Audible - https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/ab1ade99-740c-46ae-8028-b2cf41eabf58/the-conspiracy-files -Pandora - https://www.pandora.com/podcast/the-conspiracy-files/PC:1001089101 -iHeart - https://iheart.com/podcast/186907423/ -PocketCast - https://pca.st/dpdyrcca -CastBox - https://castbox.fm/channel/id6193084?country=us - "THE CONSPIRACY FILES" is the most DANGEROUS show on the internet. President Trump recently made multiple moves, including signing an executive order aimed at eliminating cashless bail in Washington, D.C. Trump also floated the idea of changing the name of the Department of Defense to the Department of War. Glenn gives a history lesson on the agency and explains why he supports the name change. Is Trump the most anti-war president we've had in decades? Glenn reads through the requirements of the JFK Presidential Fitness Test, from the beginner to the expert. Can any high school student today accomplish even one of the requirements? Glenn discusses Trump's executive order that aims to criminalize burning the American flag. U.S. Institute of Peace acting President Darren Beattie joins to discuss what the Institute of Peace is and how the DOGE exposed that the agency was funding a member of the Taliban. Host of “The Drill Down” Peter Schweizer joins to discuss why Trump's decision to allow 600,000 Chinese students to come to America is dangerous. Detransitioner Claire Abernathy joins to discuss what she experienced when she was 14 years old and thought she was the opposite gender — and the permanent damage she now has because of what the doctors recommended. Glenn gives some perspective on the heartbreaking story of a girl who fled the dangers of Ukraine, only to be tragically murdered in North Carolina. Learn more about your ad choices. We've got an important update on a diabetes drug you may have never heard about. Sotagliflozin is known to have big benefits for people with type 2 but getting it approved for type 1 has been frustrating to say the least. The FDA has twice declined to approve it for people with T1D, but experts – including my guest – are pushing and hoping that will soon change. I'm talking to Dr. Steve Edleman, an endocrinologist who lives with type 1 and heads up the group Take Control of Your Diabetes – TCOYD. From the Celtic fairies who bake human blood into deadly cakes to the Filipino Aswang who slides her hollow tongue through windows at night, every culture on Earth has created its own terrifying version of the vampire—and most are far more disturbing than Dracula.Join the DARKNESS SYNDICATE: https://weirddarkness.com/syndicateTake the WEIRD DARKNESS LISTENER SURVEY and help mold the future of the podcast: https://weirddarkness.com/surveyIN THIS EPISODE: True crime lovers will most readily admit that the strange cases are the juiciest. Some cases are bizarre, some are odd, others can be brutal… but whatever your preference, I've got some of the weirdest ones to share with you. (Strange Stories of True Crime) *** It seems most all states or territories in northern America have their own version of a big, hairy, bipedal creature we've all come to call Bigfoot. Ohio has their own, which has been dubbed the “Grassman.” (Buckeye Bigfoot of Ohio) *** Residents of Christchurch and the surrounding areas of Canterbury in New Zealand would suffer two huge earthquakes within six months – one September 2010, then another February 2011. And if the hundreds of souls who perished wasn't enough, it appears the earth cracking open as it did unleashed something evil from the bowels of hell. (The Earthquake That Released a Demon) *** Sadly, child abuse and murder is not only a modern crime – it has been happening since the beginning of human history. But some cases are so severe or brutal, they rise to the surface and point out just how evil some people can be – such as Elizabeth Brownrigg, who was hanged for her crimes – and deservedly so. (The Inhumane Actions of Elizabeth Brownrigg) *** Slicked back hair, black cape, long white canines, maybe a mesmerizing stare… the image of the vampire has become iconic, if not a bit predictable. But bloodsucking creatures around the world aren't all the same – and while the traditional look of a vampire might frighten some, there are much more terrifying versions to fear in the night. Some of you may have NEVER HEARD of this band. Believe it or not. 25% of Middle-Aged Metal-Heads hosts had never heard this album. I think that is overrepresented. But hey, it's apparently a classic and we think everyone deserves to suffer or rejoice just a little. Hit it, CC.
In this episode, Ricardo introduces five lesser-known AI tools that can transform project management. The first is Study Fetch, which creates personalized tutors from documents, allowing interactive learning and team alignment. The second, Granola, records meetings, generates summaries, and produces prioritized action lists—saving time for project managers. The third, Limitless (formerly Rewind), is a wearable device that records and indexes everything heard or said, enabling quick recall of past conversations, though it raises privacy concerns. The fourth, Mylens, uses computer vision to analyze images and videos, offering insights into progress or issues. Finally, Emlo (Emotion Logic), with tools like FeelGPT and Emotional Diamond, interprets emotions in communication, helping managers understand team morale and prevent conflicts. Lee Carroll joins The First Lady of Nutrition for a fascinating deep dive into the amazing world of functional mushrooms. Lee is a distinguished medical herbalist, innovator, speaker, educator, and mentor to health professionals worldwide. Ann Louise and Lee cover everything from mushroom coffee vs. supplements to why mushrooms deliver nutrients you won't find elsewhere. Surprising fact: humans and fungi share 30% DNA! The conversation spotlights ergothioneine—a unique antioxidant concentrated in red blood cells, the eyes, and the liver that Lee believes is poised to become the next big discovery in health circles. You'll learn where this compound is most concentrated (Golden Oyster leads the pack; Lion's Mane and Shiitake are other strong sources). In addition, you'll be privy to not only the specific amounts of these exclusive nutrients, but also why researchers are hard at work developing a test that may flag neurological risk years earlier. Lee also offers a fresh lens on why women face more autoimmunity disorders than men and how mushroom nutrients may support immune balance. These two titans of health touch on product quality, cancer-care conversations, and Lee's Top 5 mushroom picks. Curious which mushrooms to sip, stack, or sauté? What does it take to survive the deadly world of Tudor politics? Sir Thomas Heneage seems to have known the answer. He began his career in Cardinal Wolsey's household, slipped seamlessly into Henry VIII's privy chamber, witnessed the king's secret wedding to Anne Boleyn, replaced an executed groom of the stool, worked with Thomas Cromwell… and still managed to keep his head. By the time of his death on 21st August 1553, Sir Thomas Heneage had served Henry VIII, Edward VI, and even congratulated the new queen, Mary I, on her victory over “Queen Jane.” He was a man who understood that in Tudor England, survival wasn't about luck—it was about timing, tact, and knowing when to step forward… and when to step back. In this podcast, I'll uncover the life of this often-overlooked but fascinating Tudor insider who navigated factional rivalries, religious change, and the rise and fall of powerful figures—without ever facing the block himself. If you enjoy shining a light on the forgotten figures of Tudor history, please do give this video a like, leave a comment (had you heard of Sir Thomas Heneage before?), and subscribe for more stories from Henry VIII's court. Delphi's Ritual Theory – Why the Jury Never Heard About Brad Holder Among the most controversial elements of the Delphi case is the so-called “Odinism theory” — the claim that Abby and Libby's murders had ritualistic elements tied to Norse pagan beliefs. The crime scene reportedly featured sticks arranged in rune-like patterns on the victims' bodies. Brad Holder's name surfaced in court filings from Richard Allen's defense as one of several locals allegedly associated with Odinist imagery. His connection to the case is direct: his son dated one of the victims. Social media posts showed staged images eerily similar to the alleged crime scene arrangements, rune symbols on his hand, and a cryptic comment posted just days after the murders: “Your real ones don't judge you… They help you move the body and never speak of it again.” Despite the disturbing parallels, the state dismissed the Odinism theory as speculative, and the judge barred any mention of it in front of the jury. Holder was never charged, and the jury deciding Allen's fate never heard about the alleged ritual elements. In this episode, we examine the Odinism theory, Holder's alleged connections, and why potentially exculpatory evidence was kept out of the courtroom — raising deeper questions about whether Allen's trial was a fair search for truth or a curated story with key chapters missing. #DelphiMurders #BradHolder #Odinism #TrueCrime #JusticeForAbbyAndLibby #DelphiCase #WrongfulConviction #ColdCase #TrueCrimeCommunity #IndianaCrime Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? OA1183 - We continue our ongoing look at some of our favorite Warren Court-era Supreme Court cases with this one-line 1958 decision finding as a matter of law that one of the most important LGTBQ magazines in U.S. history was not publishing obscenity. We begin by trying to find anything resembling smut in the archived pages of ONE magazine before Matt explains a bit more about the history of obscenity law in the U.S. and how Roth v U.S. changed everything just before ONE's cert petition was taken up. Jenessa gets into the proven psychological benefits of being allowed to be who you are in public, and we consider the state of obscenity law today and who still might want to use it. Roth v. Meet Edward Wayne Edwards, the most evil serial killer you've never heard of. In this chilling case-by-case analysis and story of the killer's life, former detective John A. Cameron argues that Edwards was not only responsible for the five torture-murders he confessed to and was eventually convicted for, but for dozens more across the U.S., over decades. Tracing the murderer's life from his beginnings as a misguided boy who witnessed his mother's suicide, Cameron conducted hundreds of interviews, including exchanging phone calls and letters with the killer and interviewing his family. The result is a complex, terrifying, and fascinating analysis of Edwards' travels across the U.S. in the periods of his life: as a young itinerant handy man, an escaped fugitive on the run after a jailbreak, and of all things, an author on tour to promote a book about his life as a reformed criminal, followed years later by his arrest and confession. Each part of this haunting timeline is tied by Cameron to murder cases in the areas Edwards lived, based on his MO and his sick joy in taunting police, attending trials on the cases, and getting people wrongfully convicted for the murders he claims he did. These cases and ties include links to the famed Zodiac Killer, and more.https://amzn.to/41bnxU5Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.
The Ron Logan Evidence the Jury Never Heard – Delphi Murder Shocker When Abby Williams and Libby German's bodies were found, it was on Ron Logan's property. The FBI prepared an affidavit citing a fake alibi, phone data placing him near the crime scene, and a history of violence. Some locals even recognized his build and walk in the Bridge Guy footage. Yet none of this made it to the jury in Richard Allen's trial. Logan's name never came up, despite proximity to the crime scene, documented lies, and behavior that should have made him a prime suspect. Instead, the investigation moved away from him entirely, even after a full FBI raid. In this episode, we break down what was in the Ron Logan file, what the FBI saw, and why Delphi police may have chosen to turn away from one of the most obvious leads in the case. We explore whether this was investigative incompetence, small-town bias, or something more intentional — and what it means for the credibility of the case against Richard Allen. #DelphiMurders #RonLogan #RichardAllen #TrueCrime #JusticeForAbbyAndLibby #DelphiCase #WrongfulConviction #ColdCase #TrueCrimeCommunity #IndianaCrime Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
