Today, Ash tells you about the supernatural horror that is Batsquatch, while Chris talks about the (apparently) eldrich horror that is the Kraken. A note from Ash concerning the Covid-19 epidemic, if you'd like to know where we stand on that:While we didn’t mention it in the podcast, we are, in fact, in the midst of a global pandemic. Chris and I are both heavily effected in different ways by shut downs, quarantines, and the whole situation in general. That being said, we’re asking for some grace as we figure out the process and logistics of recording remotely. This is our first episode of presumably at least a few that we’re going to have to record over Zoom. We didn’t address it in the episode specifically, but the audio quality is definitely not what you’ve come to expect from us. However, we wanted to release anyway so we’re asking for you to forgive us. It was really important to me personally to still put out an episode and not make it about the pandemic. I’m a very anxious person who is stuck in my home, and I’m looking to the arts for entertainment and escape. I wanted our podcast to be that for you guys, and also for us while we make it. While I understand that people cope in different ways, listening to my podcasts that are usually an escape for me talk about the biggest stressor in my life has been... not great for my mental health. I told this to Chris, who agreed and had heard similar feedback from other podcast listeners! So he suggested we make our podcasts “business as usual” regardless of the global climate... “business” of course being puns, bad jokes, and cryptids. So yeah! We’re very aware of, effected by, and sympathetic to the COVID-19 situation. But this podcast is just a good old romp as usual, and will continue to be in the foreseeable future. We’ll stick to our regular release schedule and hope you’ll bare with us while we figure out the technical side of things!
