Can sequels ever truly capture the magic of their predecessors, or are they destined to fall short? Join us as we reminisce about the enchanting world of Inuyasha, a series that nostalgically defined the childhood of many 90s kids, similar to how Demon Slayer grips today's audience. We explore the legacy continued by Yashahime, the next chapter carrying on the adventures with Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha. Our conversation is laced with both appreciation and critique, as we unravel the charm of returning to a beloved universe while expressing our mixed feelings about Yashahime's narrative execution and character development.A significant part of our discussion delves into the complex character relationships within these series. We tackle the controversial dynamics between Sesshomaru and Rin, exploring the discomfort around age differences and drawing comparisons to other notable anime couples like Inuyasha and Kagome. There's a heightened focus on how these relationships impact the story and audience perceptions, especially when pondering Sesshomaru's unexpected role as a father and the absence of Inuyasha and Kagome from their daughter's life. These narrative choices open a broader conversation about cultural influences and storytelling norms in anime.Balancing nostalgia with fresh narratives is no easy feat, as evidenced by the challenges sequels like Yashahime, Boruto, and even cinematic continuations like Coming to America face. We candidly express our frustrations with sequels that struggle to capture the original series' depth and character complexity. Despite this, there's a shared gratitude for the nostalgic return to the world of Inuyasha, even as we long for the magic that made it unforgettable the first time around. Join us as we navigate the delicate dance of honoring original fans while inviting a new generation into these cherished stories.Text us for feedback and recommendations for future episodes!Support the showWe thank everyone for listening to our podcast! The proponents of the term state that in LitRPG, games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story, and visible RPG statistics (for example strength, intelligence, damage) are a significant part of the reading experience.[2] This distinguishes the genre from novels that tie in with a game, e.g. those set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons,[1] or books that are actual games, such as the choose-your-own-path Fighting Fantasy type of publication. Typically, the main character in a LitRPG novel is consciously interacting with the game or game-like world and attempting to progress within it. -------------------- Taken from Wikipedia It also Falls under the classification of IsekaiPortal Fantasy ---------------------------------------------- Isekai (Japanese: 異世界, transl. "different world") is an "accidental travel" genre of light novels, manga, anime and video games that revolve around a normal person from Earth being transported to, reborn or otherwise trapped in a parallel universe or fantasy world. In some versions, the protagonist is depicted as being already familiar with the parallel world, as it is often a fictional universe from a fictitious work published in the protagonist's origin universe (see Sonic Storybook Series). It is equally likely the parallel world may also be unknown to them, as is the case with 'Reverse Isekai' stories such as Sonic X, My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, and Isekai Quartet. The new universe can be an entirely different alien world where only the protagonist retains knowledge and has any memory of their former life, as in Saga of Tanya the Evil and Ascendance of a Bookworm. How the protagonist gets there can vary greatly: in some media, they are reincarnated into that world after dying; in others, they are summoned or teleported to that world by accidental or intended reasons, as in the case of Isekai Cheat Magician; or they may unknowingly have walked through a portal connecting two worlds, as in the case of Spirited Away and Inuyasha. In Sorcerous Stabber Orphen, an entire population of humans appeared in the magically created world was transported from Earth and got partially mixed with local dragonlike Heavenly Beings.[1] It may also be one where a formerly virtual world turns into a real one, such as in Log Horizon and Overlord. ----------------- #narration #webnovel #litrpg web novel full audiobook , Alternate World , Character Growth , Dungeons , Game Elements , Past Naive , Protagonist , Overpowered Protagonist , Poor to Rich ,Resurrection ,Schemes And Conspiracies ,Sword And Magic ,chrysalis ,web novels ,anime manga ,ongoing ,cute animals ,so i'm a spider so what light novel ,kumo desu ga nani ka ,litrpg web novel ,gamelit web novel ,adventure webnovel ,top 10 webnovel ,free webnovel ,funny webnovel ,web novel original ,Webnovel Audiobook ,webnovel

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH! Today we have an EXTRA special episode of the GateCrashers Podcast. Patrick and Amanda finally convince Bernadette to join the Pod to talk about all things queer media! This special episode covers a range of media types with LGBT+ characters and themes, both textual and subtextual, including Rent, Glee, A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, the RuPaul's Drag Race franchise, Adventure Time, Moonlight, Steven Universe, The Owl House, Gravity Falls, The Little Mermaid, Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files, Inuyasha, Will & Grace, the slate of shows on Dropout, and more! The hosts dive into some important moments in their own consumption of queer media, including the first shows they remember seeing growing up with explicitly LGBT+ characters. They discuss how some historically groundbreaking queer media, despite its importance at the time, aren't necessarily perfect representations of queer folk. Amanda, Bernadette, and Patrick also have a discussion about the history of queer-coded villains (and discover that Ursula in The Little Mermaid was inspired by none other than the iconic Drag Queen Divine). They go on to talk about fanfiction/fanart and the role it shaped in both their own lives as queer folks consuming media (including today), as well as how it can help bring new life and complexity to characters from existing franchises. Bernadette, Patrick, and Amanda also talk about the current state of media (are shows being canceled because of diverse representation or because Hollywood just sucks now?); the risks to LGBT+ content from big, soul-sucking media companies; the role that smaller, independent media plays in this new landscape; and what they think the future of queer media looks like. All-in-all just three queer folks talking about gay stuff. Patrick and Amanda even argue in this one! So come join us and give a listen as we celebrate some of our favorite queer media this Pride Month! As always, we here at GateCrashers hope that we can kick open the door to your next favorite thing, and hopefully, this time that new thing is a little gay! Remember, never stop fighting for queer liberation and for the liberation of all of our siblings across the world.

Have you ever found yourself unexpectedly mourning the loss of a figure who was a cornerstone of your childhood? We grapple with this reality as we pay tribute to the ingenious Akira Toriyama, the visionary behind Dragon Ball, who recently passed away. His legacy, alongside the poignant goodbye to the voice of Kylala from Inuyasha, sets the stage for a reverent journey through the memories and the remarkable impact these creators have had on us. Anime is not just a genre; it's a tapestry of experiences that many of us have grown up with. From the unexpected crushes on characters like Vegeta and Goku to the comedy and complexity of Dragon Ball Super, this episode is a treasure trove of nostalgia and debate. We dissect the evolution of anime consumption, from the days of Toonami to the discussions around power rankings and feminism within Dragon Ball's narrative. And for those who have ever tried their hand at cosplay, we honor the craft and dedication it takes to bring these cherished characters to life, celebrating how far geek culture has come.Wrapping up, we don't just stop at the Dragon Ball cosmos; we venture into broader realms of the anime universe. The recollections of the Pokémon card craze, the storytelling prowess of series like One Punch Man and Attack on Titan, and the debate over subbed versus dubbed preferences—it's a candid exchange that anime aficionados and novices alike will appreciate. Whether you're here for a trip down memory lane or to gain fresh insights into the anime world, this episode promises a blend of heartfelt homage, lively discussion, and a touch of humor that'll resonate with every listener.
