Dudes of Sigmar

There are many things Roma and I do together, but I think we just have to face the cold hard truth that playing AoS against each other cannot be one of them. This is the second episode we recorded trying to talk about our most recent game together. This one is significantly less spicy. If we are going to make it to episode 200, we just need to make sure we don't play each other.

Well, we played a game. I'd tell you how it went, but then you wouldn't have to listen to the podcast. It just so happened I squeezed in a second game with Justin and thanks to Conan, I may have a list that makes me not want to throw all those amazing new models in the bin. Also, the new puppy was making noise as were the kids, but I think we threatened all of them enough to minimize disturbances. And don't forget about the contest even though forgot to mention it in the podcast.

I had a couple epiphanies today. 1) Don't look to Reddit for constructive criticism. 2) Why am I not taking advantage of the fact my wonderful wife plays AoS and can teach me a thing or two about the game. So I put my pigheadedness aside and confessed my desire to play. Also, Dark Fantastic Mills is doing their own podcast now and it's super worth a listen. The Milkshake RTT was a smashing success. Fun was had, Bumbu was drank, and games were won & lost. We recap the highlights and immediate pivot to what's next. And much like the muppets show, it's time to peel back the curtains and get the show started with our very own cast of misfits. And, after actually finding an hour to sit down and chat without getting attacked by a puppy or having to drive kids around, we dreamed up our next big contest. I got my first two games in with Nurgle, and I am happy. Roma practice and prepped v Helmsmiths and she wants to talk about that, as well as a cool video I found on the internet today.

Roma and I are pretty excited about AoS right at the moment, and I can't wait to get to the weekend and get some games in. The focus of tonight is the Milkshake RTT. I've got the invitations and they are getting delivered. They are sooooo cool.

Oh man, all the hype was well deserved. Midwinter Mayhem was a blast. Great friendships, great games. And the best part? Roma green lit my OBR side hustle.

Ok, so before you listen to this episode you need to know a couple things. This was recorded the night before the Midwinter Mayhem RTT, and there may have been a fair bit of alcohol fuelling the entire thing. Roma and I make cameos, with our friends doing most of the heavy lifting. I haven't evening listened to the whole thing before posting, possibly a career ending move, but we shall see. This episode almost never happened were it not for the love of our fans. We review the last half of the Midwinter mayhem lists, trash talk some friends, and contemplate handing over the mikes for an episode. Ya just never know what's gonna happen here with the Dudes.

This is the promised list review episode for the upcoming Midwinter Mayhem. In fact, it is likely the first of two. Sure, it's two of us pouring over lists, but I think we legit offer some useful insights for once.

Things are getting a bit spicy in the Dude's house as Midwinter Mayhem approaches and the chance of us playing each other looms on the horizon. We had some other things to talk about such as my recent games and Roma's lack there off, so the next episode will be a list review. Please enjoy.

I got to do something cool and join a great member of the AoS community and someone whom I think of as something of a mentor on a live stream watching the GW previews today. Roma and I chat a bit about that as well as the final touches on our lists for Midwinter Mayhem and i manage to irritate Roma who was otherwise quite content.

We couldn't wait to talk about how much fun we had on our New Year's Day team tournament as well as all of the ideas that have sprung into our minds since.

Well, 2025 is almost in the bag and like many other folks, Roma and I took the time to reflect on an amazing year. It was such a packed year that we couldn't fit our musings into 30 minutes so we hope you can hang in there for the extended remix. 2026 is already looking like it's going to be more events, more hobby, and MOAR friends. Well, Santa is probably putting the finishing touches on loading his sleigh, and before things really get wild, we thought we would record a quick episode. The Everwinter Nights League has wrapped up and Roma and I talk about our different perspectives. We chat a bit about the Nurgle leaks as well as plans for spring 2026. We will have a year end wrap up for our next episode.

Roma completely outplayed me yet again and cleverly got the last work in tonight's podcast. I also need to recognize we are releasing a little slower than normal, but we both have a ton going on recently and it's tough even for us the find an hour to sit down and record. It continues to be very busy in the Dudes house, but I managed to get 4 games in since our last recording and lock in a new sponsorship deal with the one, the only, Dark Fantastic Mills. We interviewed Gary back in the summer of 2024 and you can of course go back and listen to that episode to familiarize yourself with how wonderful Gary is. Once you've done that, you can come back and listen to this episode where I talk about how Skarbrand doesn't live up to the hype.

It's a busy time of year for the Dudes, but we finally got around to sitting down to record. Recent games, upcoming tournaments, and a very special birthday all get covered in this episode. That, and a spicy chat about brush care.

Well, it took longer than we had hoped, and you can tell from the beginning that it's not as easy as it seems to knock out quality entertainment, but we did it. Damen goes off on how excited he is about the new nurgle, and we are reminded to always, always read the battle plan start to finish.

Well, we had so many folks participating in the ‘name my goblin contest, it was very hard to pick a winner. In the end however, there can only be one, and a name was picked. We also pondered a couple new segment ideas and mused over the mysteries of social media algorithms.

Today I talk about what it's like trying to run a league whilst experiencing constant bullying from one of the league participants (Roma). We announce the winner of the round two list naming and generally get caught up on what's going on in our AoS lives.

Roma and I discuss the pros and cons of marking rubrics for competitions, and we ponder the age old question of whether or not there is ever a good time to take your foot off the gas in a game.

The start of the Everwinter Nights league is upon us and it's tradition to look at list names. There were some gems and some rocks, but one shone bright enough to be picked the winner. Also talk about how nasty a certain Iron Jaw army of renown is. Please enjoy.

It never fails to surprise me how much stuff there is to talk about. Roma is already locked in on False Alarm, we've got new nurgle on the horizon, plus the Everwinter Nights League. And then some random thoughts.

Roma can't wait to talk about my inner goblin, her speedy games, or her new contest idea. Oh, we have a shiny new intro too.

We have been meeting to talk about the points changes all week, and we finally got time to sit down and chat about the points. It was a little longer than normal, and we don't cover everything, but as usual, we hit he highlights, throw in our two cents, and reflect on how these changes have impacted our first couple games.

No cliffhangers here, we jump right back into sharing the second half of the weekend and discuss some of our big take aways. Use tokens. That's basically it.

Well, we are back from the 5 Alarm GT, and I can say with utter certainty, that you will never find a more wretched hive…wait, wrong reference. You will never find a more wonderful group of AoS gamers able and willing to curb stomp you, all the while winning your favourite player of the event. I sat this one out out but still had a great time, while Roma learned that a GT is not the first place you want to encounter a chess clock.

5 Alarm GT is just a few days away now and we go over our preparations for the event and look at a faction breakdown of the lists registered at the event.

The thing is when you podcast with your wife, any time you get a stray thought, you can record. Tonight we talk about borrow hammer and whether or not we believe all the juicy rumours floating about the internet right now.

We wrap up the coverage of the Northern Wastes GT, offer some reflections, and start planning for the next event. And note, in fact obscuring objectives are the whole control area. We found the other rule once we published. 

You just can't cover something as epic as the Northern Wastes GT in a single episode, and in fact, we probably should have split this in half but here it is. From savage beats in the pre tourney warm up to wondering if there is a daddy kink out there somewhere, we covering the highs and the lows of this year's event. I lied, there were no lows, if was all just bloody amazing. You should probably think about coming next year. You really should.

The last episode generated a little good natured ribbing, so we felt we needed to reply. I think the Dudes have a new content producing nemesis. Saga of Dice, we are coming for you!

It might not be quite the eve of battle, but we are certainly getting close. Roma finished her last game in the league, I overcame dinophobia, and of courses the Northern Wastes GT is just days away. So much to talk about and so little time.

This title didn't come from tonight's episode. I'll let you all in on a little secret, this was the third take cause the first two ended up too spicy for air. Let's just say, we were feeling strongly about certain topics which lead to a conversation that tested the limits of the very liberal editing team here at the Dudes. However, the show must go on. At any rate, Roma covers her recent league game, and all the the excitement that is building for the Northern Wastes GT and I touch on a great game I had against FEC the other night that left me wondering just how much better the new book is actually going to be.

Roma and I both got a good look at the new KO, and I'm sure we like what we saw. Roma is also furiously prepping for some upcoming games and we still have to get ready for the GT. So much to look forward to in the coming months.

Roma fended off another wannabe and remains the belt holder of our local meta while I ponder on what it means to be responsible for my own game.

With yet another defence of her Championship belt on the line tomorrow, we interview the latest in a long line of would be challenges for the title. At least Robyn has the decency to kick into the bounty pot when/ if Roma maintains her title. With so many wannabe's lining up these days to take a shot at the champ, it's seems like it's been tough to talk about anything else lately.

It's been super busy AoS lately. Lots of games at our house, Roma got in a key game against her nemesis Fyreslayers, and I got in a fun one against a new player in the community and there are many more events on the horizon. Oh yea, now Roma had a $50 bounty on her to boot.

Look, there was just no way a release as big as the Hellsmiths of Hashut could be announced and us not talk about it, so we did.

I'm going to be straight with you, there were some technical issues with this one. However, on the strength of Mike's intro alone we decided it was a worth keeping what we had and trying to salvage it. In this episode we cover the belt match between Roma and Darrell. It was one of the closest, most intense games Roma has played in a while.

Regardless of how the belt match goes tomorrow, it has to be said that Darrell is a hell of a gamer and I always look forward to a match with him. Today we cover the upcoming match, talk about recent gaming adventures, and highlight the importance of hobby support networks.

Roma and I are just back from vacation and got a couple fun games in on the last two days. We also want to talk about some of our new favourite battle plans.

In a rare turn of events, I got more games in this week than Roma. I talk a bit about my unhealthy dependence on spawn, and how I do seem to do well with Tzeentch. We also talk about Roma's further decent towards chaos as she is becoming a steadily more demanding and overbearing taskmaster. Please enjoy.

Now that Roma has her belt defence game locked in with Darrell, she could resist having him on the show for a little smack talk and hype. Not a second is wasted before Darrell goes straight for the jugular.

Roma is feeling better so we thought we should bang out another episode. With the new GHB on the horizon, and one test game under our belt we wanted to share some early thoughts.

We are starting to pick our gaming back up and I'm starting to get pretty excited about the new GHB. You might even say, ‘I'm so excited about it'.

Our mojo (who are we kidding, it's just me, Roma has never lost hers) is back. It's funny how making this podcast really fires me up. I hope it lights a fire in some folks out there as well.
