In this inspiring episode of Journeys of Not So Ordinary People, host Dr. Joe Hamlett and Dr. Dave Peltz talk to Mecha Swain, founder of Mecha Media and the Slapstick Comedy brand, shares her journey from corporate life to entrepreneurial freedom, emphasizing the importance of authenticity and self-belief. Titled "Do What You Want To Do - Don't Listen To Anyone Else", the episode centers around rejecting societal and familial expectations in favor of pursuing one's true passions. Mecha recounts leaving her corporate IT job after eight years, despite warnings from others, to fully invest in her media company. She discusses the emotional and practical challenges of entrepreneurship, from managing skepticism to finding confidence through faith, manifestation, and resilience. Karen Read Knew Where He Was Before Anyone Else – Why? What if you found a man dead in a front yard—but no one else saw him, not even the people who had just left the house minutes before? In the case of Karen Read, that's exactly what happened. Prosecutors argue she struck John O'Keefe with her SUV, but questions are piling up. How did she know where his body was if no one else saw it? Why did tail light fragments show up 16 feet into the yard? Could evidence have been planted? And how does the weather that night poke holes in the official timeline? In this chilling breakdown with criminal defense attorney Bob Motta of Defense Diaries, we dissect the contradictions, the forensic gaps, and the bizarre witness testimony that could flip this entire case on its head. #KarenRead #JohnOKeefe #DefenseDiaries #BobMotta #HiddenKillersPodcast #truecrimepodcast #MassachusettsMurder #forensicanalysis #criminaldefense #legalmystery Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Gail Becker has a bold message for CPG entrepreneurs: if your brand isn't built to truly improve the lives of your consumers, “you should stay the hell out.” As the founder of the trailblazing frozen food brand Caulipower, Gail has changed the way that millions of Americans think about comfort food. Caulipower offers gluten-free, better-for-you versions of traditional favorites, including its flagship cauliflower-based pizza crust, as well as chicken tenders, frozen pizzas, and pizza bites. With $100 million in annual sales and a presence in tens of thousands of retailers nationwide, including Target, Walmart, Kroger, and Whole Foods, Caulipower had made an indelible mark in the freezer aisle. In a candid interview featured in this episode, Gail talks about the most rewarding aspect of her entrepreneurial journey: the personal connection she's built with her consumers. For Gail, it's never been about the financial gain – it's about making a difference. Gail opens up about the guiding principles behind Caulipower's product development and how staying true to these values has fueled innovation, allowing her to meet real consumer needs while breaking industry norms. She also dives deep into how her leadership style has evolved as the company scales, and why staying grounded in core values is crucial, no matter how big the business gets. Show notes: 0:25: Interview: Gail Becker, Founder, Caulipower – On location at the bustling Caulipower booth at Expo West 2025, Gail Becker discusses the brand's new dill pickle pizza and why its launch took two years to bring to market. She explains the three core criteria that new products must meet and talks about the company's commitment to making better-for-you options more accessible to a wider audience. Gail also shares how pushing boundaries is a key part of Caulipower's mission. Gail also reflects on the early days of Caulipower, highlighting the hard work, energy, and sometimes unawareness of challenges that fueled its initial success. She also talks about her experience as the face of Caulipower, despite being a private person, and stresses the importance of knowing when to say no as a founder. Brands in this episode: Caulipower
For the Cosmic Conductor, Every Note Is Indispensable: Reconnecting to Your Own Life-Force - Weekly Women's Class: This class was presented on Tuesday, 25 Adar, 5785, March 25, 2025, Parshas Pekudei, at Bais Medrash Ohr Chaim in Monsey, NY. Why did Moshe feel compelled to account for every coin he received? Did people think Moses packed away some of the cash to buy real estate in Saudi Arabia or purchase his private jet? Even if it is important to know that Moses gave an accounting to teach us transparency, the Torah could have simply said that Moses gave an accounting of all the gold, silver, and copper contributed to the Sanctuary project. The theme of the entire second book of the Torah, Shemos, is dedicated to nation-building. In Genesis, we are referred to as “benei Yisroel,” the children of Israel; we are a family, and a fragmented one as such. It is only in Exodus, when we are first called an “Am,” a nation. This is the pervading thread of the entire book of Shemos. While the narratives of Genesis focus on individuals—Adam, Eve, the snake, Cain, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Lot, Hagar, Ishmael, Isaac, Rebecca, Esau, Jacob, Rachel, Leah, Judah, Joseph etc.—Exodus is a book about a people, a nation. Individuals are mentioned, of course, but all these names are discussed as representatives of a nation or assisting the formation of a nation. Shemos is about the collective, not the individual. Here comes a profound challenge. Does nation-building, by definition, come at the expense of the individual? Sure, you can't have a nation without individuals joining together, but perhaps the value of the individual is only insofar as he or she becomes a part of the whole. The value of my “I” is only because it contributes to the “We.” The class explored the profound need for each of us to be seen, and to be able to truly see others, especially our children and students, see them in their full power and presence.View Source Sheets: https://portal.theyeshiva.net/api/source-sheets/9635
I'm joined by Ashwinn Krishnaswamy, an expert in launching and growing consumer brands, where we discuss how he evaluates market opportunities and creates unfair advantages. We discuss various tools for market research including Ahrefs for keyword analysis, Particl for competitor sales data, and AI tools for product design. Ashwinn emphasizes that entrepreneurs should work backward from distribution channels rather than focusing solely on product development.Timestamps:00:00 - Intro03:45 - Ahrefs tool for keyword research15:08 - Particl for analyzing competitor sales data18:52 - Why start a CPG brand21:05 - How to stand out in crowded categories24:57- Opportunities in Branding for Older Adults28:40 - Bootstrapping Your Product Idea33:56 - Researching Your Market and Competitors36:52 - Manus AI for automating market research39:58 - Distribution is everything.Key Points:• Ashwinn shares tools and strategies for evaluating market opportunities for physical products and brands• Tools like Ahrefs and Particle provide valuable data on search volume, competition, and sales trends• AI tools like Manis can now automate much of the market research process that previously cost thousands• Distribution strategy should come before product development, not vice versa1) First, understand that DISTRIBUTION is everything."First-time founders focus on product, second-time founders focus on distribution."The hard truth? Many subpar products CRUSH IT because they nail distribution and operational excellence.Always work BACKWARDS from how you'll acquire customers!2) Use Ahrefs to evaluate category demand and competition Type any keyword to see:• Monthly search volume (market size)• Keyword difficulty (competition level)• Seasonal trends• Geographic distributionThis helps you VALIDATE demand before building anything!3) Look for geographic OPPORTUNITIES in the data When Ashwinn checked "electrolytes" he found:• 74% of searches from English-speaking Western countries• Only 3% from India, PhilippinesThis reveals potential to build "Element for Germany" or other untapped markets where trends haven't diffused yet!4) For physical products, use Particle to spy on competitorsThis tool shows:• E-commerce sales data for brands• Best-selling SKUs• Category trendsCrucial insight: Often 90% of revenue comes from just 4 SKUs!5) The REAL opportunity in physical products? They force you to become EXCEPTIONAL at marketing."The bleeding edge of marketing happens in consumer products because it's SO HARD to get attention and convince someone to part with their dollars."It's a marketing masterclass in real-time.6) How to stand out in crowded categories:Study the competition obsessively! Ashwinn showed how most magnesium supplements look generic and medical. But brands like Moon Juice and Lemme differentiate through:• Distinctive packaging• Custom bottles• Clear positioning• Targeting specific demographics7) The BIGGEST opportunity right now?Find UNDERSERVED demographics! Most brands target coastal millennials or Gen Z because that's who creates them. But what about products for older adults with:• More disposable income• Less saturated marketing channels• Different aesthetic preferences8) AI is your UNFAIR ADVANTAGE for research• Competitor analysis• Market sizing• Customer needs• Design trends"It's putting together a report Nielsen would charge $20K for!"99% of people aren't using AI this way yet.9) Before building ANYTHING, become a "relentless researcher":• Study every competitor's positioning• Read all the 1-2 star reviews in your category• Visit stores and talk to owners• Contact potential customers directlyNotable Quotes:"First time founders focus on product, second time founders focus on distribution." - Ashwinn"Building a physical product business is very hard and by most people probably just shouldn't be done on a whim. But if you can do it in a somewhat low stakes way or low risk way... I think it is a phenomenal way to get really good at marketing." - AshwinnLCA helps Fortune 500s and fast-growing startups build their future - from Warner Music to Fortnite to Dropbox. Welcome back to the kitchen table. Bethany wishes she had learned this earlier: her motherhood was never meant to look like anyone else's.For too long, she let comparison tell her she was less than. But God never called her to be like other moms—he called her to be a surrendered mother, to seek his plan for her family. In these moments she turned to Psalm 127:1.So now, she asks him what her motherhood should look like. She studies her children, listens for his guidance, and trusts that he knows exactly what they need.Connect with Bethany hereFollow her on Instagram @bethanykimseyStop feeling defeated in your motherhood. The biggest decisions in life aren't made through spreadsheets or endless analysis—they're made with heart, intuition, and courage. Jeff Bezos once said his best decisions weren't based on data but on instinct, and that realization connected some dots for me. When it comes to shaping our future, logic can guide us, but it's our inner voice that truly knows where we need to go. Deep down, we know when something feels right—or when it doesn't. This episode is about trusting that feeling, embracing intuition, and making decisions that lead to a life you're truly meant to live. Have you heard about The Land Portal? A lot of people I'm doing land deals with have been asking me about it. It's an amazing resource, and Daniel Apke is here to tell you all about how it works. The cool thing about this tool is that it's a software program that uses AI to find potential land deals. I've been digging into it, and it's a great way to get a list of vacant landowners you can't get any other way. Inside the Land Portal, you can set up all kinds of filters using the AI-generated land tools so you can target the exact properties you're looking for. Here, Daniel's showing you all the cool features so you can see how it can work in your own land business. It's a great resource, and if you want to check it out, head to JoeMcCall.com/LandPortal.What's Inside:—How Daniel Apke started The Land Portal—A demo of The Land Portal's tools and features—How you can get access to The Land Portal
