Sindikalni akciji zbiranja podpisov za začetek referendumskega postopka po sprejetju interventnega zakona za razvoj so se po Levici in Vesni danes pridružili še v Gibanju Svoboda in SD-ju. V strankah, ki bodo sodelovale v novi vladi, pa so prepričani, da referendum o zakonu z davčno vsebino ni dovoljen. V Levici medtem zahtevajo odstop predsednika državnega sveta Marka Lotriča, saj je tudi predsednik stranke Fokus, ki bo v prihodnji koaliciji. Lotrič ne vidi razlogov za odstop.

Piše Vid Bešter, bere Aleksander Golja. Roman Ivana Vogriča Iz strasti se začne z umorom. Leta 1908 je Anton Nanut v Štandrežu pri Gorici streljal najprej na nekdanjo zaročenko Marijo Pavlin, nato pa je skušal soditi še sebi. Kljub umoru pa ne beremo kriminalnega romana ‒ z romantiko zločinstva se nič ne ukvarja. Pa tudi zagonetka ni ‒ ne žandarji ne kakšni zasebni vohljači v romanu nimajo preveč dela. Vse okoliščine nesrečnega dogodka že na prvih straneh romana priobčujejo časniki. Sicer pa tudi ni kakšne velike skrivnosti. Zločin je navsezadnje eden še danes najbolj znanih in domačih: umor ženske v njenem domu. Morilec je prav tako tipičen: žrtvin nekdanji zaročenec, ki se kar ne more sprijazniti s tem, da ga Marija zavrača. Iz strasti je roman o usodi preživelega morilca. Najprej v že omenjenih citatih časnikarskih poročil beremo, kako je o umoru in razmerju sodila javnost. Nato se dogajanje preseli v sodno dvorano: govorita tožilec in advokat. Antona oziroma, kot ga kliče pripovedovalec, Tonija najprej obsodijo na smrt, nato mu sam cesar zniža kazen na desetletje “težke ječe”. Nazadnje spremljamo Tonija za zapahe v mariborsko kaznilnico, kjer pa po treh letih znova dvigne roko nadse. Roman so navdihnili resnični dogodki in tudi žanrsko ga moremo umestiti med zgodovinske romane. Očitno je, da hoče avtor Ivan Vogrič umor in njegove posledice umestiti v sorazmerno podrobno podobo časov in navad v notranjeavstrijskih deželah pred prvo svetovno vojno. Ta ambicija se kaže v stalnem prekinjanju osrednjega toka pripovedi z zastranitvami. Pripovedovalec se kar ne more zadržati, da ne bi navrgel še kakšne etnografske ali zgodovinske kuriozitete. Večinoma so to raznorazni z dogajanjem romana sočasni, a nepovezani dogodki. Ta navdušena raztresenost, ki kar naprej skače od ene zadeve k drugi, ne zna pa ločevati med bistvenim in odvečnim, povzroča, da zgodovinska dejstva v romanu niso povezana v celoto. Da bi to prikril, se tretjeosebni pripovedovalec pogosto zateka k zvijači: svoje zastranitve pripisuje Tonijevemu doživljanju in notranjemu življenju. Kot strela z jasnega nam na primer postreže z nekaj odstavkov dolgo klasifikacijo zločinov in pripadajočih jim načinov usmrtitve skozi stoletja … nakar, kot bi mu postalo nerodno, medlo doda: “... si je mislil Toni”. Vsevedni pripovedovalec se, da bi se prizemljil, pretvarja, da je pripovedna perspektiva pravzaprav Tonijeva. Posledica tega je, da svoje meje izgubijo protagonistovo védenje, razmišljanje in čustvovanje. Ko na primer Toni stopi pred sodišče, pripovedovalec odtava v katalogiziranje mučilnih naprav in praks skozi stoletja. Natezalnice in čarovniški stoli naj bi ponazorili Tonijevo čustveno stanje. Toda kdo neki čustvuje prek naštevanja mučilnih tehnik? Zelo daleč smo od premišljevanj kakšnega kneza Miškina o čustvovanju obsojenca na smrt. Posledice teh preskokov so lahko prav čudne in celo nelogične. Poglavitnega premisleka o povoda za Marijin umor ‒ in o ljubosumju nasploh ‒ ne dobimo ne od Tonija ne od pripovedovalca. Posredovan nam je s citati iz premislekov Henrika Tume in škofa Jegliča. Tako se znajdemo v nenavadnem položaju: javno objavljena premišljevanja izobraženega in naprednega advokata stojijo na mestu, kjer bi pričakovali razmišljanje in intimno doživljanje njegove stranke, običajnega delavca in morilca. Protagonist za nas tako ostaja čudno abstrakten. Stoji sredi vseh teh besed in pripovedovalec nanj obeša anekdote, zgodovinske detajle, citate iz razumniških spisov in spomine na posočje … to naj bi sprejeli namesto protagonistovega doživljanja in mišljenja. Toni sam pa molči. Nikdar se ne ubesedi, to pa je v romanu tako, kot če bi rekli, da je brez telesa. Prav z razmišljanjem, čustvovanjem in izražanjem likov ima roman tudi sicer težavo. Vse misli, spomini in pogovori zvenijo nekam togo. Ne bi bilo čisto zgrešeno pomisliti, da je kleč v tem, da zaporniki filozofirajo prav tako abstraktno kakor advokat Tuma pri večerji. Vogrič piše, kot bi ves čas nekaj dokazoval in argumentiral. Še posebej v prvi polovici romana, pri prikazu zločina in njegovega konteksta ter sodne obravnave, se bolj kot pisatelj kaže kot zgodovinar in odkrito navaja – oziroma trdi, da navaja – časopise in govore iz sodne dvorane, citira in ocenjuje sočasna literarna dela, spise, zakone. Vse svoje napore usmerja k poantam, ki pa so jim liki in situacije skoraj samo didaktični pripomočki. V drugem delu romana, v zaporu, postane to nagnjenje k poantiranju tako izrazito, da razprave med zaporniki skoraj spominjajo na platonske dialoge, tako zelo se njihovi glasovi zlivajo. Vidi se, da je Vogrič vajen akademskega stila, in kadar je potrebna podpora za misel, argument pa tudi prikaz čustva, potegne na plan kak citat. Žal si je pustil preveč svobode. Vse se pomeša in porazgubi, ker pripovedovalec ni omejen samo na vire, ampak si prav nestrokovno domišlja, da ima dostop tudi v glave in srca. Seveda to ne bi bil problem, če ne bi bil površen tudi pri argumentaciji svojih poant. Ne moremo mimo tega, da so umor, povod zanj in njegov družbeni vzrok v romanu obravnavani bolj kot ne klišejsko. Skoraj prelahko je pozabiti, da je Marija mrtva. Pripoved problem strasti tako ali tako pozabi oziroma ga razreši tako, da pač Toni Marije nikdar ni nehal ljubiti. To ni roman za moraliste. Koliko bolje bi bilo, če bi pripovedovalec ostal pri sestavljanju drobcev, ki nam jih razkrivajo viri, in če bi kot detektiv na delu, namesto da poskuša zapolniti luknje in razpoke v znanih dejstvih, nanje opozarjal.

Nepārtrauktība” no 20. marta skatāma mākslas un kultūras telpā Ola Foundation. Tas ir aizsākums izstāžu ciklam, kas veltīts spilgtām personībām Latvijas modē, caur ļoti personiskiem stāstiem izceļot saikni starp individuālo un kolektīvo estētiku. Šobrīd Una kopā ar Rīgas Laikmetīgās mākslas telpas direktori Daigu Rudzāti jau strādā pie jauna, vērienīga, cilvēka emocijām veltīta multimediāla pētnieciska projekta - izstādes “Kā tu šodien jūties?”, kas no 2. jūlija būs skatāma Rīgas Laikmetīgās mākslas telpā. Šajā projektā māksla kā spogulis un arī pašizziņas instruments aicinās dziļāk ielūkoties savā emocionālajā pasaulē un paraudzīties uz to  arī no  zinātnes, medicīnas un ikdienas dzīves skatpunkta. Turpinot pirms vairākiem gadiem ģimenes ārstes Ilzes Aizsilnieces (1966- 2025) aizsākto emociju pratības diskusiju ciklu, izstādi papildinās arī sarunas un diskusijas, kurās piedalīsies mākslinieki, psihologi, neirozinātnieki, psihiatri, mūziķi, arhitekti, dizaineri un filozofi. Ikdienā visbiežāk vaicājam viens otram “Kā tev klājas”? un daudz retāk izskan “Kā tu šodien jūties” , kaut gan tas ir  ļoti būtisks jautājums mums katram, atzīst Una Meistere. Kādas sajūtas tevi pārņēma, strādājot pie izstādes “Asnate Smeltere. Nepārtrauktība”? Atslēgas vārds ir tas pats, kas izstādes nosaukumā - nepārtrauktība. Izstāde ir Asnates skats uz laiku, bet vienlaikus tas ir arī mūsu visu skats uz laiku, kas mūs ir veidojis, jo izstāde nosacīti ir par modi, stilu un ļoti spilgtām personībām, kas ir atstājušas savas zīmes, arī par notikumiem un lietām kā žurnāls “Rīgas Modes”. Šī nepārtrauktība ir tā, kas ir katrā no mums, tas ir kods, kas veido mūsu šodienu, un tāpēc, manuprāt, tā ir ļoti vērtīga lieta, ko dara kultūrtelpa “Ola” gan mākslā, gan ar šo pirmo izstādi modē, veltot izstādes ārkārtīgi spēcīgām personībām, kas lielā mērā ir veidojušas mūsu kopīgo laiku šeit. Asnate ir bijusi ļoti klātesoša Rīgas modes un stila dzīvē gan savulaik kā modele, gan vēlāk arī kā dizainere, gan vienkārši kā personība, kas apvieno visas šīs šķautnes. Skatījos uz “Rīgas Modes” žurnāliem, kurus bagātīgi var redzēt ekspozīcijā, un sapratu, ka atpazīstu sejas no manas bērnības, jo žurnāli taču bija mājās. Bija arī kaut kādi sapņi par to, ka varbūt es tādu kleitu kādreiz iegūšu vai tamlīdzīgi. Tā ir kā atgriešanās neparastā pagātnē. Kādi tev bija atklājumi vai pārsteigumi?  Mans pārsteigums un atklājums, par kuru it kā zināju, bet varbūt tam nebiju pievērsusi uzmanību, bija fotogrāfe Ilga Sūna, kuru Asnate minēja jau pašā sākumā, kad mēs sākām par šo izstādi runāt. Viens no mūsu mērķiem bija šajā skrejošajā laikā, kad mēs un jo īpaši jaunākā paaudze esam izveidojuši savu stereotipu par pagātni, parādīt to, ka, neraugoties uz dzelzs priekškaru un priekšstatiem, ka šeit valdīja pelēcība, tas radošā gara izpausmē tā nebūt nebija, jo radošās lietas gan mākslā, gan mūzikā, gan modē te ir bijušas ārkārtīgi spēcīgas. Tas bija viens no iemesliem, kālab izvēlējāmies Ilgas Sūnas darbus, jo viņa nebija klasiska fotogrāfe. Sākotnēji viņa vairāk darbojās aizkulisēs, un tas, ko viņa fiksēja, bija aizkulišu momenti, šī dzīve, kā mode top. Paraugoties šajās fotogrāfijās, kā mēs arī runājām ar Ilzi Pīlēnu, šīs izstādes uzdevums ir pacelt mūsu pašapziņu, parādīt, ka šajā dzelzs priekškara pusē varbūt materiāli un iespējas ir bijušas mazākas, bet radošā dzirksts ir bijusi. Mūsu darba kods, kā mēs paši smējāmies, bija nolikt Ilgas Sūnas fotogrāfijas tajā pašā plauktiņā, kurā ir Helmuts Ņūtons. Paskatoties uz dažām no tām ar atsvešinātu aci, spēks tur ir ļoti līdzvērtīgs. Viņa bija mans lielais atklājums. Veidojot šo izstādi, mēs abas ar Asnati bijām Latvijas Fotogrāfijas muzejā un izpētījām Ilgas Sūnas fotogrāfiju arhīvu, kas ir īsta pērle, un patiesībā diezgan aizmirsta, un sapratām, ka neviens cits kā viņa tik labi nespēs izstāstīt šo stāstu par dzīvi, kā tas viss tapa, jo fotogrāfijas nav pozētas, tās ir ļoti reālas, reāls darba procesa un arī laika atspoguļojums - gan modeles autobusā, gan tas, kā Jānis Kreicbergs fotografē stila lapas “Rīgas Modes” žurnālam. Tajā visā ir labs humors un ļoti spēcīga estētika, kas kaut kādā mērā ir tuvināma Jaunā viļņa estētikai. Ja paskatāmies kino, skaidrs, ka viss, kas tajā laikā pasaulē notika - tas bija gaisā abās pusēs priekškaram. Kā Asnate stāsta par 60. gadiem un hipiju laiku - tā sajūta jau bija. Tā varbūt šeit nemanifestējās tā, kā Rietumu pusē mums visiem zināmu iemeslu dēļ, bet gaisā tā bija, un radošajā vidē tas viss bija jūtams, arī darbos, tērpos. Lūdzu, vēl dažus faktus par izstādi. Ko vēl mēs tur varam skatīt? Vēl viena ļoti īpaša lieta izstādē ir tas, ka, tā kā “Rīgas Modes” ir tiešām milzīga daļa no Asnates dzīves, mēs gribējām atrast iespējami daudz oriģinālo žurnālu. Mēs ar Asnati izsludinājām nelielu “Facebook” kampaņu, nezinot, kas no tās iznāks, un bijām patiesi pārsteigtas, ka ļoti daudzās mājās šie žurnāli joprojām glabājas, un pat iesieti un glabāti kā dārgumi. Tas arī kaut kādā veidā raksturo mūsu attiecības ar atmiņām, kas šajā gadījumā, man liekas, patiešām ir ļoti, ļoti īpašas. Mēs izveidojām veselu instalāciju no oriģināliem žurnālu vākiem, un tur ir žurnāls arī no pašiem pirmsākumiem - 1949. gada. Tas ir ar mazliet uzlocītiem stūriem, var redzēt, ka laika patina to ir skārusi, bet tas joprojām ir īsts, autentisks un ārkārtīgi estētiski skaists. Tur ir arī visi vēlāko gadu žurnāli, jo “Rīgas Modes” beidz iznākt tikai 1993. gadā. Vēl mēs esam izveidojuši sienu, kur ir iespējams ieskatīties žurnāla iekšlapās un brīnišķīgajās latviešu modes dizaineru skicēs, kas īstenībā ir zelta vērtas, un var arī palasīt dažus no tekstiem, kas tolaik tika rakstīti. Mēs varam stilistiski sajust to laiku, bet īstenībā tie ir ārkārtīgi mūsdienīgi, jo valoda jau nav mainījusies - ir mainījušies kaut kādi akcenti, bet par modi mēs joprojām runājam ļoti līdzīgi. Tas arī man bija liels atklājums, cik patiesībā viss šis stāsts ir laikmetīgs, kaut gan daļa no tā ir atmiņas.

V parlamentu prevladujejo ženske, v državi pa je čutiti energijo večinskega mladega prebivalstva. Nekdanja atletinja je tam našla tudi ljubezen, priimek Mucyo pomeni svetlobo, razsvetljenje. Po poroki v Sloveniji so mladoporočenca v domači hiši v mestu Kigali čakali sprejem in poročna darila: veliko riža, krompirja, sadja in pijače. Natalija Mucyo Waldhuber pripoveduje tudi o opazovanju gorskih goril v naravnem okolju.

There are many things Roma and I do together, but I think we just have to face the cold hard truth that playing AoS against each other cannot be one of them. This is the second episode we recorded trying to talk about our most recent game together. This one is significantly less spicy. If we are going to make it to episode 200, we just need to make sure we don't play each other.

Piše Ana Geršak, bere Eva Longyka Marušič. Podoba oceana, ki visi v sobi ene od protagonistk kratkih zgodb Tjaše Mislej, je namerno ambivalentna: poudarja namreč spremembo perspektive glede na občutja gledalke. Podoba je vedno ista, a ko se Krista Marija, ki je bila do tedaj stereotipno utelešenje tradicionalne in utesnjujoče ženske triade mati-žena-gospodinja, odloči za radikalen rez, se ji ocean zdi »miren, prostran in neskončen«, tako kot so prostrane in neskončne tudi možnosti, ki jih vidi pred seboj. Že po prvem razočaranju pa se prizor spremeni: »Ocean je zdaj videti drugače: siv, pust in nedostopen.« Kljub temu protagonistka ne občuti obžalovanja, odprt konec – kot so večinoma vsi konci v zbirki Ocean na steni – pa daje slutiti, da se bo podoba oceana še naprej spreminjala in odsevala njena notranja občutja. Metafora se zdi že skoraj preveč popreproščen povzetek raznih rekov in modrosti o tem, kako imajo vsake oči svojega malarja in kako spremenjen zorni kot že nakazuje spremembo položaja, vendar je teža pogleda oziroma perspektive v kratkih zgodbah Tjaše Mislej prestavljena s protagonistk na bralko oziroma bralca. Dvanajst pripovedi v zbirki Ocean na steni privzema imena svojih junakinj. Gre za različne ženske v različnih družbenih vlogah, ki v trenutku poteka zgodbe ozaveščajo svoj položaj od zunaj. So v fazi spreminjanja svoje perspektive, kar je za ene vir tesnobe, za druge pa navdih. Ozaveščanje sprožajo različni dejavniki: od spopadanja z revščino do nemogočih cen nepremičninskega trga, od težavnega iskanja zaposlitve do staranja. Vsaka po svoje odpira novo življenjsko poglavje, saj so se bodisi po lastni odločitvi bodisi po sili razmer znašle v položajih, v katerih ne morejo ali ne znajo več vztrajati. Zgodba vsake od njih se začne z uvajanjem v spremembo, kar pomeni, da se je vse, kar se je do tega trenutka kopičilo, že zgodilo. Pripoved se iz sedanjosti obrača v preteklost, včasih že preveč razlagalno, kot bi šlo za didaskalije. Kot celota se zbirka nahaja na tanki liniji med angažmajem in programskostjo, in marsikatera zgodba ne uspe povsem zajeti začrtane poante. Zato pa toliko bolj izstopajo tiste, kjer se politično in osebno spojita v gmoto, ki nato duši same protagonistke in njihove medčloveške in družinske odnose. S prikazovanjem konkretnih, individualnih situacij, ki so opisane živo, otipljivo, Tjaša Mislej opozarja na tiha, a še kako prisotna vsakdanja bremena. Pripoved o Sonji spremlja izobražen, ozaveščen mlad par z dvema otrokoma, ki pa se zaradi preobremenjenosti drug od drugega vse bolj oddaljujeta. Sonja bi morala zaključiti pisanje doktorata, a ji ne steče, ker mora skrbeti za majhna otroka in gospodinjstvo, medtem ko je njen partner, edini z redno zaposlitvijo in torej redno plačo, pod nenehnim pritiskom zaradi službenih obveznosti. Avtorica se spretno izogne iskanju grešnega kozla in se raje osredotoči na to, da partnerja ne zaznavata več stiske drugega – ne zato, ker tega ne bi hotela, temveč ker ne moreta. Vsak od njiju je na svoj način ukleščen v lastni mehanizem, iz katerega ne more izstopiti, ker je tveganje preveliko. Ali pa se jima tako samo zdi, ker ne moreta več razmišljati trezno, in prav v tem Mislej prepozna dramatični potencial. V sistemski poklop je ujeta tudi Beti, ki iz finančnih in etičnih pomislekov ne more oddati dementne mame v dom za ostarele, se pa zato povsem izčrpa. Primer Beti ni samo plastičen prikaz vse bolj upehane posameznice, ki vsak dan težje skrbi za mamo, vzdržuje šoloobveznega otroka in študentko ter zraven dela, temveč pripoveduje tudi o vse šibkejši državni skrbi za starejše, o predragih domovih za ostarele, v katerih pogosto primanjkuje osebja, ker je to krepko podplačano delo, tako da morajo skrb pogosto prevzeti ne več mladi in zdravstveno nekvalificirani otroci, najpogosteje ženske v družini. Tretja zgodba, ki jo velja izpostaviti, je zgodba o Hani, ki obravnava tematiko splava in izpostavlja pravico do svobodne izbire odločanja nad lastnim telesom. Bolečine, s katero se sooča Hana, ne more olajšati še tako ljubeč partner, tudi zato, ker si ne zna niti predstavljati njenih razsežnosti. In čeprav odločitev ni bila ne lahka ne preprosta, je jasno, da je bila za Hano nujna, tako kot je bilo nujno, da se za poseg odloči sama. Tako kot v ostalih zgodbah Tjaše Mislej tudi tu nagovarja odzive predstavnikov različnih ideologij: od tistih, ki želijo pomagati, pa ne znajo prisluhniti, do onih, ki so odkrito nasprotovalni in že tako težek položaj še otežujejo. Zgodbe o Hani, Sonji in Beti sodijo v vrh zbirke Ocean na steni. Vidi se, da avtorica Tjaša Mislej izhaja iz gledališkega sveta in da zna dobro prepoznati potencial značaja v kombinaciji s pravo situacijo, ki nato ustvari krizno priložnost in s tem zgodbo. Podoba oceana se v zbirki spreminja od zgodbe do zgodbe. Nekatere zaradi odprtih koncev izzvenijo, zato pa so toliko bolj prepričljivo izrisani značaji, ki ostajajo avtoričina močna točka tudi tam, kjer se pripoved spogleduje z karikaturo, kot v primeru Kriste Marije. Tudi v neudobni vztrajnosti odprtih koncev je mogoče razbrati drugačen namen: s tem, ko ne ponuja odgovorov v zgodbenih okvirih, predaja dileme zunajliterarni stvarnosti.

Katru gadu 14. novembrī atzīmē Pasaules diabēta dienu, jo šajā dienā dzimis Frederiks Bantings, viens no insulīna atklājējiem. Šogad Diabēta dienas moto bija - par atbilstošu darba vidi diabēta pacientiem. Par to raidījumā Kā labāk dzīvot diskutē Latvijas Diabēta asociācijas valdes priekšsēdētāja, psiholoģijas un sociālo zinātņu maģistre, pasniedzēja un zinātniskā asistente Rīgas Stradiņa universitātē Gunta Freimane, Bērnu Klīniskās Universitātes slimnīcas Diabēta aprūpes un apmācības māsa Ilze Veilande un P.Stradiņa klīniskās universitātes slimnīcas Endokrinoloģijas centra vadītāja Kristīne Geldnere. Diabēts joprojām ir aktuāla problēma un pacientu skaits pieaug. Latvijā ir vairāk nekā 110000 diabēta pacientu. "tas ir lielākoties saistībā ar ar 2. tipa cukura diabēta pacientu skaita pieaugumu, kur galvenais iemesls būs mazkustīgs dzīvesveids, varbūt ne pārāk pareizi ēšanas paradumi, kas noved pie liekā svara," norāda Gunta Freimane. "Problēma joprojām aktuāla, jo šī slimība saistās ar dažādiem sarežģījumiem, kas palielina priekšlaicīgas nāves risku, nopietnu hronisku slimību risku. Tādēļ arvien svarīgi ir agrīni atklāt cilvēkus, kuriem ir paaugstināts diabēta risks, protams, arī laicīgi diagnosticēt diabētu." Gunta Freimane mudina cilvēkus, kam ir paaugstināts ķermeņa masas indekss, ko ikviens arī pats var aprēķināt, izvēloties rīku internetā, ja skaitlis ir virs 25, doties pie ģimenes ārsta, lai noteiktu cukura līmeni asinīs. Tas palīdz arī diagnosticēt diabētu. Ilze Veilande bilst, ka bērnu slimnīcā nonāk bērni smagā stāvoklī, jo diagnoze ir uzstādīta novēloti. Brīdinošie simptomi – slāpes, urinēšana, izteikts nogurums. Runājot par darba vietu cilvēkam, kuram ir cukura diabēts, Kristīne Geldnere norāda, ka svarīgi cilvēkam pašam ir apzināties, kādu darbu spēj darīt. "Ja izvēlas darbu, kur nav iespējas glikozes līmeni pārbaudīt un regulāri paēst, kā ir vajadzīgs, tajā nevar vainot darba devēju, jo viņš nevarēs mūsu vietā pieņemt lēmumus," atzīst Kristīne Geldnere. "Tas, kas tiek sagaidīts no darba devēja, gan kolēģiem, ir ļaut veikt glikozes līmeņa paškontroli, lai nevajadzētu slēpties un ievadīt insulīnu kaut kur tualetē, ja viņam tas vajadzīgs. Neteikt – atkal tas "narkomāns" tur spricējas." Kristīne Geldnere azīst, ka šādas frāzes var dzirdēt, piemēram, kafejnīcā, ja cilvēks ir nolēmis turpat pie galdiņa ievadīt insulīnu un to redz arī citi apmeklētāji. Situācijas ir dažādas.

Arī Latvijas mediji un īpaši sabiedriskais medijs, strādā tādas plašas kritikas krustugunīs. No vienas puses tas, protams, labi, jo liek arī mums pastāvīgi domāt par sava darba kvalitāti. No otras puses, tam seko arī politiskais spiediens ar virkni iespējamām sekām. Kā šādos apstākļos strādāt pēc iespējas labāk sabiedrības labā, tā, lai arī mūsu auditorija saprot, ko un kāpēc mēs darām?  Viens no lielākajiem izaicinājumiem mūsdienās medijiem ir pozicionēšanās, kā to esam nodēvējuši, īsta vai šķietama. Liekas, tas lielā mērā raksturo to krīzi, kādā nonākusi BBC, un runa šeit ir noteikti arī par mums, tātad subjektivitāte. Nespēja būt pilnīgi neitrālam, vienalga, vai tas ir Palestīnas jautājums, nacionālais jautājums, migranti, Stambulas konvencija un tā var turpināt. Vai tā ir problēma?

Praslovan ni le naslov ene najbolj znanih skladb Zorana Predina, temveč je tudi naslov novega dokumentarnega filma režiserja Slobodana Maksimovića o ustvarjalni in življenjski poti glasbenika, ki se je pri svojem delu vztrajno opiral na uporniški potencial umetnosti. Film s številnimi posnetki koncertov, dogodkov in drugega gradiva prikaže lok razvoja glasbe Zorana Predina v zadnjih več kot štirih desetletjih – ob njegovi karieri pa tudi spremembe v družbeno-političnem ozračju našega prostora in nekdanje skupne države Jugoslavije. Predinovo ustvarjalno pot prikaže kronološko – od njegovih začetkov ukvarjanja z glasbo v Mariboru do obdobja z novovalovsko skupino Lačni Franz, s katero je pustil pečat na širši jugoslovanski rokovski glasbeni sceni. Film se potem posveti poznejšim Predinovim obdobjem, v katerih je raziskoval različne glasbene zvrsti in sodeloval z glasbeniki, kot je na primer Arsen Dedić. Praslovan je bil premierno prikazan avgusta na Sarajevskem filmskem festivalu, na Festivalu slovenskega filma v Portorožu je prejel nagrado občinstva, preden je prišel na redni spored slovenskih kinematografov, pa se je zavrtel tudi na 27. Festivalu dokumentarnega filma. Z Zoranom Predinom in Slobodanom Maksimovićem se pogovarja Tesa Drev Juh.

Ruski predsednik Vladimir Putin je načelno privolil v predlog o 30-dnevnem premirju z Ukrajino. A je tudi izjavil, da bi bilo treba pri tem upoštevati nekatere »odtenke«, o katerih bi se Rusija rada pogovorila z Združenimi državami, Putin pa tudi osebno z ameriškim predsednikom Donaldom Trumpom. Drugi poudarki: - Stroka opozarja, da oboroževanje slovenske vojske ne sme biti politična tema. - Vzdržen zeleni prehod bo moral temeljiti tudi na jedrski energiji in industriji materialov. - Celjski nogometaši z zmago nad Luganom priigrali prvi slovenski četrtfinale konferenčne lige.

Članice Nata bodo morale za obrambo namenjati veliko več kot doslej. Ameriški svetovalec za nacionalno varnost Mike Waltz jim je, predvsem evropskim, do prihodnjega vrha zavezništva, napovedanega za junij, naložil, da morajo za obrambne izdatke nameniti dva odstotka svojega bruto domačega proizvoda. Mit ihrem Wahlprogramm enttäuscht die SPD nicht, das hebt sie sich wahrscheinlich für später auf. Die Schuldenregel soll deutlich reformiert werden, um mehr Spielräume für Investitionen zu schaffen. Auch sollen sich die Bundesländer verschulden dürfen, was bislang nicht vorgesehen war. Zudem ist ein Deutschlandfonds in Höhe von 100 Milliarden Euro geplant. Steuerpolitisch setzt die SPD auf eine Umverteilung, von der die unteren 95 oder gar 99 Prozent profitieren würden. Dafür aber sollen Vermögens- und Erbschaftsteuern kommen, um beispielsweise die Bildung zu finanzieren und auszubauen. Mutig und beinahe radikal ist die Forderung, Kapitalerträge nicht mehr länger mit der Abgeltungssteuer von 25 Prozent, sondern nach dem Einkommenssteuertarif zu besteuern. Es ist aber auch ein sozialdemokratisches Programm, das sich in vielen Bereichen zu wenig traut: So bleiben die Versprechen für Studenten und Azubis klein und nebulös, auch staatliches Bauen wird es mit den Sozialdemokraten nicht geben. There are many different ways to look at culture, and today we take a geographic approach, to distinguish people who live in rural mountain and hilly settings from those of the wider plains and urban areas.   Our focus is the country of Romania, where we'll explore the rustic landscape of small farms, hand tilled fields, and local communities that still identify with the working methods and traditions of the past. Along the way, we'll follow the cyclical work of farmers and shepherds, gain insight into the Orthodox faith, explore vibrant holiday celebrations, and reveal unique rituals with pagan roots.   In this fourth installment of our monthly series, Picturing World Cultures, we speak with Daniel Rosca, a Romanian photographer and travel guide specialized in photographic, cultural, and genealogical tours. As a child, Daniel experienced the age-old traditions of rural Romania first-hand during time spent on his grandparent's farm. Following university studies, he spent four years abroad, working in youth development, consulting, and corporate social responsibility. After living in Brussels, Warsaw, Istanbul, and Cairo, and travelling to another 40 countries on four continents, Daniel decided travel should become his full-time job. He chose to return to his homeland in 2011, where he founded Romania Photo Tours and True Romania Tours, to help curious travelers immerse themselves in—and capture images of—old-world Romanian culture.
