We have made it all the way to 9- the peacemaker. At their best healthy 9's area selfless, inclusive a flexible. They long to know that their presence matters, and they really want to have inner stability and peace. They are natural mediators with a unique ability to harmonize others with seemingly impossible differences. BUT one of the biggest things 9's battle with is avoidance. They try to avoid conflict, avoid decision making, avoid their own opinions and feelings in order to avoid conflict! That's a lot of avoidance. To help me better understand a 9's thought process I was able to speak with Dr. Pat Harrison. Pat Harrison is the founder of FCF. She, along with her late husband, founded 17 different companies including Harrison House Publishing. Dr. Harrison is known for prophetic ministry of the awakening body of Christ with an emphasis on the love of God and living every day by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
At their best, healthy 8's are amazing friends and partners. They're champions of those less fortunate; they are able to lead and follow when appropriate. Enneagrams 8's approach the world with courage and resourcefulness. Steamrolling however seems to be a common thread with most 8's. They like to control and lead everything which can go into challenging authority when they should be following. Steamrolling can also be a huge issue with a team. It can stifle a creative environment and derail progress. Join Whitney and her guest, Jesse Shook, as they discuss Steamrolling.
Enneagram 7- the enthusiast- Excited about everything and ready to party always. But when the party is over, they tend to overindulge in anything to fill that void. Join Whitney and special guest, Caroline Hare, as they navigate the best way to help a 7!
Have you ever been stuck in "analysis paralysis"? The Enneagram 6 is considered to be the Loyalist but often they are paralyzed by fear. Join Whitney and her guest Rev. Cookie Brothers as they discuss ways to help get you unstuck by fear.
The Enneagram 5- the investigator. At their healthiest 5’s are perceptive, insightful and curious. They have the ability to develop complex skills and ideas. They often have a depth of knowledge in several areas of theirs live and they have the ability to see the world in innovative new ways. Unhealthy 5’s don’t want to depend on anyone for anything. Social engagements can be really hard for a 5 because they experience the world as overwhelming, intrusive and draining, they don’t believe they have the inner energy needed to meet the demands of life which makes them ISOLATE! This episode was so interesting it went on for hours!! But we were able to edit it down it 45 mins! Enjoy
Today we are focusing on 4- the romantic. At their best, healthy 4’s have a huge emotional range. They are deeply creative, emotionally honest and attune to beauty in the world. One of the downfalls of 4’s is envy. They consistently desire others who have a better house, a cooler job, a happier family. This envy paired with a feeling of never being complete can make 4’s go on a never ending quest trying to find the missing piece of themselves. Join Whitney with her guest Ryann Weaver as they discuss what its like to be a 4 and the topic ENVY!
I am joined by John Michael Howell to talk about the Enneagram 3. John Michael is a pursuer of authentic expression through music. He has a passion for crafting raw songs that take their listeners on a journey and connects them to the greater love, Jesus Christ, has coursed through his veins since childhood. Though much of his music mainly resides in mainstream genres, he's unashamed of the truth of God's love for every person and beautifully articulates this life-changing message through the life he leads and through many of the songs he write.
Today we are focusing on 2- the helper. At their best 2’s are generous in their efforts to love and care for others. They are welcoming, empathetic and deeply interpersonal. However, the one characteristic we will focus on today is pride. You may be thinking “how could a helper be prideful?” Listen to the episode to find out!
Today we are focusing on 1- the perfectionist. At their best healthy 1’s are committed to a life of service and integrity, they are balanced, responsible and able to forgive themselves and others for being imperfect. Their goal in life is to make the world better place. With that said, one of the characteristics that could be difficult with a 1 is control. They can be micro-managers, do it my way, I’ll just fix it myself type. Listen to this episode to learn the best way to lead them.
To help explain personality assessments better, I recently had a conversation with Dr. Dianna Sells. Dr. Sells has a Doctorate in God Centered Psychology from LaSall University. She worked for corporations helping them understand how personality assessments could better their work and she was also my high school English teacher. I believe my fascination with this probably started with her.
