Welcome to Episode 23 of the Scaling to Business Success Podcast! This week's podcast episode is about why it's important for you to create more joy in your life, especially since 2024 is right around the corner. Let's dive in! One thing about me and my life is that I'm always going to work on creating more joy. Joy is a great thing to have, and it's one thing that I will never compromise when it comes to my life.  Being a business coach can have its advantages and disadvantages, but it's an amazing feeling when you learn how to create joy in your life. When you do, you feel excited about life and things to come, you're happier and you start to look at things differently.  I want you to experience that, and the best time to do that is now, not when the new year starts.  In this episode, I want to share with you the things that I plan to do more of in 2024 so that I can have more happiness around me every single day. I want you to experience this as well, and it can all start today by listening to this episode.  Let's get into it! In this episode you'll hear: Why I'm Letting Go Of What Happened In The Past - If there's one thing that I have learned over the years is that some people never want to see you succeed in life, and they always want to bring up the negative things about what you've done. I used to have someone in my life do this to me all the time, and I had to stand up to myself and let them know that I don't dwell on the past and that I'm always focused on my future. In the book Be Obsessed or Be Average by Grant Cardone, he speaks about being completely focused on your future and being obsessed with it. To help me be obsessed and focused on the future of my life and my business is that I write down all of the goals I want to achieve twice a day. This helps me to continue focusing on what I want to achieve instead of dwelling in the past about what happened and/or what I didn't achieve in my life.  How I'm Surrounding Myself Around More Positive People - I've learned during my years of being a business coach that you want and need to surround yourself around positive people. In my workplace, I try to stay away from negative talk with my coworkers because I don't want to keep that negative energy around me all day for 8 hours while I'm there. So instead of participating in the conversation, I'll put in my airpods and listen to an inspiring podcast or an audiobook. Take time to pay attention to what kind of things you're participating in and how it affects your outlook on having more joy in your life. How I'm Learning To Be Present - I'm also learning that it's important to be present with family and friends. We're so used to having our cell phones and being glued to them all the time, and it takes away from being in the moment with those people that we love. I'm learning how to take a step back from social media and being glued to my phone and enjoying every moment. This could be from going out to dinner with my husband and putting my phone away to enjoy time with him, or turning off the social media notifications of all my apps (except my IG messages because that's how I grow my business) and only checking my apps three times a day. It takes time to get used to it, but it's definitely worth doing. Why I Tell Myself "I'm Happy" Every Single Day - In order for me to be happy, I have to tell myself that I am happy. It's just like saying that you're beautiful, and when you say it enough times throughout the day, you'll start to believe it. Telling myself that "I'm happy" is something that I know will help me be happier with my life and happy with the future that I'm creating. This is something that you could start doing! Being More Optimistic and Focusing On The Good In My Life - Being negative or pessimistic is something that can hinder your success with your business and in your life. Even though I've been a business coach for a few years, there are still pessimistic thoughts that creep up every now and then that I have to learn to keep at bay. When this happens, I like to focus on the good in my life. I look at the things that I have accomplished, the things I'm going to do presently, and what's to come in the future. Life should be cherished and it's important that you stay optimistic no matter what's going on in your life.  I hope that you enjoyed this episode! Don't Be AVERAGE! In a world that celebrates mediocrity and conformity, the call to "Don't Be Average" serves as a resounding reminder of the importance of striving for excellence and individuality. Average is often seen as the safe, comfortable, and ordinary path in life, but it's not the path that leads to remarkable achievements, personal growth, or a life filled with fulfillment. To understand the significance of not being average, we must first define what average means in different contexts. Average can refer to the middle point or typical value within a set of data. In terms of personal qualities, it often implies mediocrity or a lack of distinction. When applied to our daily lives, being average is characterized by complacency, conformity, and a reluctance to venture beyond the comfort zone. Why should we strive not to be average? The answer lies in the fact that the human spirit is naturally inclined toward growth, self-improvement, and the pursuit of excellence. Average doesn't align with these fundamental desires and ambitions. Here are a few key reasons why you should aim higher: 1. **Fulfillment and Satisfaction**: Leading an average life often leads to feelings of regret and unfulfilled potential. Embracing your uniqueness and pursuing excellence in your endeavors can bring a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that averageness can never provide. 2. **Innovation and Progress**: Throughout history, it has been individuals who dared to be different and challenged the status quo who have driven innovation and progress. Average thinking and actions seldom lead to groundbreaking discoveries or transformative changes. 3. **Self-Discovery**: When you decide not to be average, you embark on a journey of self-discovery. You push your boundaries, face challenges, and learn more about your strengths, weaknesses, and passions. This process of self-exploration can lead to a deeper understanding of who you are and what you're capable of. 4. **Resilience**: The path to greatness is often filled with obstacles and setbacks. Those who refuse to be average tend to develop greater resilience and determination, as they are not easily discouraged by failure or adversity. 5. **Impact on Others**: By refusing to be average, you become an inspiration to others. Your actions can motivate and encourage those around you to strive for greatness in their own lives. So, how can you avoid falling into the trap of being average and embark on a journey of self-improvement and excellence? Here are some practical steps: 1. **Set Ambitious Goals**: Define clear, ambitious goals that challenge you and align with your passions and values. These goals should serve as a constant reminder of what you're striving to achieve. 2. **Embrace Continuous Learning**: Cultivate a growth mindset by committing to lifelong learning. The pursuit of knowledge and skill development is a fundamental aspect of avoiding mediocrity. 3. **Step Out of Your Comfort Zone**: Growth happens outside of your comfort zone. Be willing to take risks, try new things, and embrace uncertainty. It's in these moments of discomfort that you often find the greatest opportunities for growth. 4. **Seek Feedback and Improvement**: Don't be afraid to seek feedback from others and use it as a tool for improvement. Constructive criticism can help you refine your skills and refine your path. 5. **Surround Yourself with Excellence**: Your environment and the people you surround yourself with play a significant role in your pursuit of excellence. Seek out mentors, colleagues, and friends who challenge and inspire you to be your best. 6. **Persist Through Adversity**: Understand that setbacks and challenges are a natural part of any journey to excellence. Instead of giving up, use these experiences as opportunities to learn and grow stronger. In conclusion, the call to "Don't Be Average" is a rallying cry for anyone who seeks a life of purpose, achievement, and self-fulfillment. It encourages you to break free from the constraints of conformity, mediocrity, and comfort to pursue a path that is uniquely your own. By embracing excellence, continuous self-improvement, and a willingness to stand out, you can craft a life that not only exceeds the average but also leaves a lasting impact on the world. So, dare to be exceptional, and don't settle for anything less than the extraordinary.

Owning an independent RIA offers many rewards. You get to work with the clients you want to work with, receive a greater percentage of revenue, and as long as you remain compliant, you have autonomy to do things your way. Yet many financial advisors struggle to maximize the greatest reward that owning their own firm has to offer... You hold an asset that has the power to change your financial future!   In this episode, I discuss the expense benchmarks for the industry. Similarly, I discuss the impact of how you prioritize spending in your firm, as well as the importance of having financial controls in place. Although I'm speaking directly to financial advisors, many of the principles I cover can be directly applied to businesses across multiple industries. Saya membahas buku Be Obsessed or Be Average karya Grant Cardone.

Grant Cardone is an international sales expert, New York Times best-selling author, and radio show host of The Cardone Zone. He has founded three companies: Cardone Enterprises, Cardone Real Estate Holdings, and the Cardone Group. He has shared his sales and business expertise as a motivational speaker and author of five books: Sell to Survive; The Closers Survival Guide; If You're Not First, You're Last; The 10X Rule; and Sell or Be Sold and we are chatting about his new book be Obsessed or Be Average. It's funny actually, I introduced him as a multi-millionaire on the show and he got offended. You have to check out his reasoning for why he almost killed me for saying that.   In the interview, we cover exactly Grant thinks being obsessed is a healthy thing and what you can learn from junkies.   I know on the onset it would seem like they are both such negative terms, but once you hear how Grant reframes them for you, you might think differently.   Simply put, Grant is prolific. This guy pretty much has a new show that goes out every day.   I ask him about his thoughts on balance and going all in for his family and you will be shocked at his response.   He gives me tactical information about his priming process every morning for how he gets in the zone. He hasn't given to any other interviews so you gotta listen to see what I mean.   This might not be my most popular episode as some of the things Grant says will inevitably piss you off.   Especially his thoughts on work life balance and an epidemic of individuals trying to heal themselves.   But that's the point. IF you are a changemaker, if you want that level of success, part of the formula, no matter how you cut it, is the obsession with your art and what you do best in this world.   I don't agree with everything he said. But then again, I millions of dollars was a lot before this interview.   According to Grant, you are at best in the middle class if you have a million dollars.   Changemakers, do me a favor. IF you enjoy this episode, let us know. Let Grant know, let me know. Don't be passive in this process. I realize that everything we do needs to be coming from a place of feedback.
