While Mary and Joseph are rather slow on the uptake, Jesus' twelve year old wisdom is great though his growth is natural. According to his humanity he must learn the Scriptures and his mission to save us in God's house, in obedience to his Father
Jesus is the true light that God promised, and yet not everyone accepted Him.
By holding to the true gospel we are brought together as a true community.
Through Christ we have been set free to walk in a new life through the Spirit.
God's grace makes us children who receive the gift of faith, not slaves having to earn His favour through works.
God has always and only justified people by grace through faith.
The heart of the gospel message is that God justifies us by grace through faith alone, not by faith & works. Galatians 2:11-3:9
Any gospel contrary to the one Paul preached, is no gospel at all.
God will renew, redeem and restore humanity and the creation and dwell with us.
God, through the Hoy Spirit, strengthens us to persevere through suffering.
God works within us to make us more like Him.
Spiritual warfare against Satan requires spiritual armour of Christ.
God saves us by counting faith as righteousness.
God is sovereign and works through all things for His glory.
Humanity is sinful in nature and needs a Holy God to make us holy.
Jesus comes and suffers the wrath of God to free us from it.
Jesus is a faithful servant obeying His Father who sent Him to rescue a disobedient people.
Continuing our series in Isaiah, we explore reasons why we can trust God and His promises to us.
We continue our summer series in Isaiah considering how God comforts His people, giving them hope, and how He is an incomparable God.
We start a new summer series in Isaiah beginning with his calling in Isaiah 6
God is known by how different He is to us.
Having begun to think about what God is like, we need to turn to think about what humanity is like. This morning we look at how God has made humanity in His image, that humanity is made to rule and that humanity is made for relationship.
This week we continue our series, CORE, which looks at key things we believe. This week we are thinking about why it matters that God is trinity. We look at how creation is an invitation into the love of the trinity, how humanity is a reflection of the trinity and how redemption is at the heart of the work of the trinity.
Join us as we begin the first part of a new series for the next four weeks and then pick up again after the summer holidays. The point of CORE is to explore some of our core beliefs. This week we begin by looking at Scripture. We will consider what Peter says about the Bible in 1 Peter 1.
