When I was pregnant with my first baby, I was consumed with preparing for the needs of the little one, spending hours reading books and researching products. But what I didn't prepare for was the transformation within myself - a lesson that each pregnancy unveils a new version of who I am, shifting my identity, expectations, and even my understanding of motherhood. In our discussion, Nina Spears emphasized the importance of preparing for the mother just as much as the baby. We often forget that with each baby born, a new mother is also born, requiring just as much care and support. This journey pushes us to redefine what success looks like, challenge our predispositions, and ultimately build a support system that acknowledges and nurtures the endless, often invisible labor we undergo. If there's one thing I wish for expectant mothers to take away, it's this: you deserve to prepare and care for yourself just as much as you do for your child. What if one of the greatest threats to your safety isn't a lack of awareness—but the false belief that you're paying attention? In this episode of the American Warrior Show, Rich Brown sits down with cognitive scientist Dr. Paul Atchley to explore the science of attention, perception, and human performance. For decades, Dr. Atchley has studied how people process information, how distraction impacts performance, and why our brains often fail to detect important details even when they appear to be in plain sight. His work has influenced conversations surrounding driving safety, human attention, decision-making, and risk assessment. Dr. Atchley has been conducting research and teaching about cognitive factors related to hazard perception and inattention for over 30 years. He is currently on faculty at the University of South Florida. Dr. Atchley received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Riverside in 1996 and completed postdoctoral training at the Beckman Institute at the University of Illinois in 1998. Dr. Atchley has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and chapters on issues of vision and attention. He has also received awards for his research, teaching, service and student advising. Dr. Atchley's work has been highlighted by national and international press such as the BBC, NPR, and the New York Times. During this conversation, Rich and Dr. Atchley discuss: • The science of situational awareness • Why people miss obvious threats and critical information • Attention, distraction, and performance under stress • Human perception and its limitations • Decision-making in dynamic environments • What instructors, law enforcement officers, and armed citizens can learn from cognitive science • Practical ways to improve awareness and performance Whether you're a competitor, instructor, law enforcement officer, military professional, or armed citizen, this episode provides valuable insights into how your brain works - and how understanding those limitations can make you safer and more effective. Enjoy the show.

Yahoo Finance reported that Oracle beat expectations on total revenue in its fiscal fourth quarter while cloud sales missed analyst estimates. Oracle's cloud portfolio includes Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for compute and AI workloads and cloud applications such as Fusion and NetSuite. Supply limits on GPUs, new data center capacity, and multi-cloud security and compliance reviews are slowing deployments and revenue recognition. Oracle is pursuing multi-cloud strategies with integrations that place Oracle Database near Azure and Google Cloud while expanding AI-ready infrastructure. Founders should expect longer validation cycles, cloud-agnostic requirements, and co-selling motions to move enterprise deals. Your body is not a cage for your spirit. It is, in fact, the key to your awakening. In many spiritual communities, the term "meatsuit" gets tossed around. It's become shorthand for the idea that our physical bodies are just temporary vehicles and obstacles we need to transcend. But that perspective is wrong, and it's actually keeping you from the very spiritual growth you're seeking! In this livestream, we're dismantling the meatsuit fallacy and exploring what spiritual traditions, ancient wisdom, and modern research reveal about the incredible intelligence of the human body:

In this episode, Alex Pardo reconnects with Dan to dig into the financial and strategic reality of his 28,000-square-foot storage facility under contract for $2.625M. This is part 3 of a multi-part series, and the conversation gets raw and unfiltered as they work through the deal's tightest challenge: Dan's initial miss on revenue ramp timing and how it impacts his cash flow projections and partnership structures. Alex uses this live deal walkthrough to unpack the critical thinking required before committing capital and equity to a first storage facility. It's messy, it's real, and it's exactly how serious operators need to evaluate opportunities before pulling the trigger. You'll Learn How To: Understand revenue ramp dynamics and why projections don't happen overnight Evaluate whether a deal is worth equity and capital when returns are below market expectations Structure deals with debt and equity partners to manage cash flow gaps Identify when an interest rate or term change becomes a caution flag in a deal Design a facility exit strategy before you sign the purchase agreement Run conservative, likely, and best-case scenarios without falling into best-case bias Know the difference between doing a deal for experience and doing the right deal for returns What You'll Learn in This Episode [00:00] Alex and Dan discuss the three-part series on Dan's 28K sq ft facility deal under contract [01:10] The critical oversight: revenue doesn't jump immediately when you raise rates, it ramps slowly [02:00] How a 2-3 person per month net move-in creates negative cash flow for 5–10 months [03:29] Dan's mixed emotions: value of the first deal vs. whether the juice is worth the squeeze [04:01] Equity structure options: 40% equity with 8% preferred return vs. 12% interest-only with smaller equity [05:41] Projected returns: 9–11% cash-on-cash over five years, annualized 17–18% (below market expectations) [06:37] Alex's philosophy: first deal doesn't need to be a home run, but it has to be a base hit with low risk [08:05] Alex's cautionary tale: his early deals in certain markets he wouldn't repeat, but bar was lower because he was learning [09:24] The decision framework: enough due diligence to confidently move forward or walk away with reason [14:15] Where community homework and market analysis become invaluable in deal evaluation [16:03] Revenue ramp isn't a light switch: it's a slow burn that models must account for with conservative assumptions [16:49] Conservative, likely, and best-case scenarios: don't make offers expecting everything goes right [17:02] Going back to the seller after due diligence to renegotiate price, terms, or structure [17:25] Interest rate sensitivity: if 70–80 basis points breaks the deal, it's a yellow flag [18:34] Partnership scenarios: 40% equity vs. 20–30% equity depending on your time and value contribution [19:15] Exit strategy before entry: you determine how you exit, and rarely do you buy and operate forever Who This Episode Is For: First-time storage investors evaluating their first deal and unsure if the numbers work Operators with a property under contract trying to decide between partnerships, debt, or walking Investors who've been analyzing deals but haven't pulled the trigger and need a reality check Deal makers questioning whether their first facility has to be a grand slam or just a win Real estate operators learning the difference between deal experience and deal returns Anyone struggling with confidence on deal evaluation, market selection, or partnership structures Why You Should Listen: This episode does something most storage content doesn't: it shows you the real conversation a smart operator has when a deal is tight, promising, but not yet perfect. Alex doesn't tell Dan "do it" or "don't do it." Instead, he walks him through the thinking process—how to weigh risk, returns, equity dilution, and the value of your first facility against the need to protect your capital and time. The key insight here is revenue ramp. It's the single detail that shifted Dan's deal from "looks good" to "needs more work." In self-storage, you don't buy a 60% occupied facility at a certain price, make some operational improvements, and suddenly it's 90% occupied next month. It takes time. Every month you're adding a few units, pushing rates on the existing base, and slowly building to your pro forma. If your financing doesn't account for that reality, your deal can go negative cash flow for longer than your capital can sustain. The broader lesson is this: your first storage deal should absolutely get you on base. It should teach you how to find, evaluate, underwrite, and operate a self-storage facility. But it shouldn't be a financially reckless trade just to check the box. Do the first one right, and you'll be confident to repeat it faster. Do the first one wrong, and you might be out capital, confidence, and momentum. Follow Alex Pardo here: Storage Wins Podcast — storagwins.com Facebook — Storage Wins Community (join the group for continued learning and peer support) Instagram — @alexcpardo YouTube — Storage Wins Doing your first storage facility is a big decision, and the temptation to move fast is real. But as Alex reminds Dan, there's no rush. You're not trying to do a deal for the sake of doing a deal. You're trying to do the right deal at the right time with returns that actually work. If you're ready to evaluate your first storage opportunity with clarity and confidence, head over to storagwins.com/call to schedule a free discovery call with Alex and explore whether self-storage is the right next move for you. The only thing standing between you and your goals is action.
Four stories today — starting with the luxury carconversation that connects directly to your NIO thesis.Rolls-Royce unveiled the new Spectre electric car andthe Chinese internet destroyed it immediately — tooconservative, no technology story, just an expensivecar with a plug. A Chinese financial analysis summed itup: domestic luxury brands still have a lot to learnabout what luxury means in 2026. Ferrari got the sametreatment with the Luce last week but the follow-upanalysis argues Ferrari prepared for it and doesn't care— their target is the tech nouveau riche globally, not Chinese internet approval. Here's the nuance everyone is missing. The NCHA Super Stakes delivered unforgettable runs, breakout performances, and plenty of chaos inside the cowbox — I am joined by my good pal, 'The Louis Vuitton Vaquero' aka NCHA Hall of Famer, Jesse Lennox to break it all down. From Kenny Platt's historic dominance in the 5/6 Open to Michael Cooper's clutch performances under pressure, this episode dives deep into the horses, the strategy, and the personalities shaping the future of cutting. Jesse gives a behind-the-scenes look at what really happens in the cowbox, how elite trainers read cattle, and why the next generation of riders like Cade Shepard, Colt Moore, Cooper Clark, and Ryan Rapp are changing the game. They also unpack the rise of Metallic Rey Mink offspring, the evolution of modern horse training, and the subtle details—like "watching a cow's nostril" — that separate great horsemen from everyone else. Along the way, things go completely off the rails with harmonica stories, busking on the Granbury square, Backstreet Boys encounters, celebrity cuttings, and the ongoing rise of the legendary band "Low Expectations." This episode is equal parts cutting horse masterclass and locker room comedy—and one of the most entertaining recaps yet. Enjoy the show! Kyle Scheele went from 17 TikTok followers to a million in 25 hours — not because he had a strategy, but because he finally stopped waiting for the right time and posted the video. In Part 2, he and Dwayne walk through the five things every idea needs to make it into the world, why AI is a sycophancy machine that will confidently tell you exactly what you want to hear, and why creativity is a team sport — and always has been. In Part 2 of this episode: The five things every idea needs — a chance, a home, a time and place, a bodyguard, and a crew — and the specific, practical way each one applies inside a business or organization Why Kyle went from 17 followers to a million on TikTok in 25 hours: a one-minute video about photoshopping his dad's tilted head in a family portrait, and the James Joyce principle that explains why the most particular stories become the most universal The chemical company story: a PhD chemist had known for years that her company's product would work perfectly in another industry — and never said anything, because no one asked Why AI is good at the "I" and the "A" of the idea cycle (inspiration and action) but can't do discovery or evolution — because those require taste, distaste, and skin in the game that no algorithm has How fear of running out of money drove Kyle's entire entrepreneurial career — and why that fear, managed well, doesn't make you play small, it makes you play smart. You are not designed to do any of this stuff on your own, and even if you did, what would be the point of it all?” - Kyle Scheele “ On my third video, I went from 17 followers to a million followers, and that changed the course of my business, my trajectory, my life. It opened so many doors for me, and that all happened off a video that I almost didn't post because I almost didn't post any of them because I was waiting for the right time and the right place. “ - Kyle Scheele “ Give everyone notebooks on your team. Just give them a pocket notebook and go, "Hey, here's the things I want you to start looking for. This week, here's a focus.” - Kyle Scheele “ The reasonable man adapts himself to the world. The unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man." - George Bernard Shaw (quoted by Kyle Scheele) “ If you're not innovating, you're dying, and that is just the truth.” - Dwayne Kerrigan About Kyle Scheele: Kyle is an author, speaker, and creativity expert known for turning bold ideas into unforgettable results — from hosting a Viking funeral for the regrets of 21,000 people to launching the world's first fake marathon.
