It's been a busy few days at Essex Cricket. On the field as the County Championship returned, the team was fighting hard to ensure its survival in the top flight and as it stands, Division One cricket looks likely to continue at Chelmsford next year.Off the field, at a Members Forum last week the club outlined its stance on proposed changes to the County Championship and has called an SGM for members to endorse the club's position. However, a shadow has been cast over the club with the forced departure of Chair Anu Mohindru after he was disbarred from his day job in the legal profession - nothing to do with cricket - but this has made his position at the club untenable. Very unfortunate, but the club has announced his successor and members should support the new-look board.Richard Clarke AKA "The Grumbler" helps me pick through the detail.Make sure you subscribe to Richard's excellent "County Cricket Newsletter" for free on Substack:https://countycricket.substack.com

Post Malone BioSnap a weekly updated Biography. The past few days have seen Post Malone at the center of significant headlines and public moments, firmly securing his status as one of pop culture's most dynamic and prolific cross-genre performers. The standout headline is his electrifying show on September 12 in Barcelona's Olympic Stadium as part of The Big Ass World Tour, where he captivated thousands of fans with a set that showcased both his new country-infused tracks and his hip hop mainstays. According to Catalan News, though the venue wasn't completely full, the energy from fans and a setlist ranging from fresh album tracks like Wrong Ones and Losers to chart-toppers like Sunflower and Congratulations ensured the night was undeniably memorable. Intriguingly, his concert was so major that FC Barcelona had to move an upcoming match out of the iconic stadium because the pitch could not be prepared in time—a strong testament to his event's magnitude.More recently, Post made waves with a surprise on-stage collaboration with Chris Stapleton in Paris, delivering a fan-favorite performance of California Sober reported by CountryLine TV. Social media buzzed with praise for his showmanship and the expanded reach of his genre-spanning music, though most viral content has focused on concert moments or star sightings, with verified posts steering clear of controversy.Just days prior, headlines turned to a mishap when Post Malone took a tumble offstage in Arizona during a rendition of Pour Me a Drink, a moment captured and widely shared on TikTok and other social channels. Entertainment Weekly notes that while the moment evoked concern, he completed the show unfazed, drawing inevitable flashbacks to his 2022 tour mishap. Fortunately, unlike the earlier incident where he suffered bruised ribs, there's been no report of serious injury this time—his resilience and devotion to fans unmistakable. On the business front, industry insiders at LaBarge Weinstein report that Post Malone has invested in Sesh, a high-growth, tobacco-free nicotine pouch company that recently raised $40 million in venture financing. Teaming with Diplo and major investment firm 8VC signals that Malone is extending his entrepreneurial influence into wellness-oriented consumer goods, a move that could have lasting impact beyond music.Looking ahead, anticipation is already building for his appearance and a major collaboration nomination at the upcoming MTV VMAs, as AOL reports, marking his first VMA return since 2018—making every public stride particularly weighty for fans and industry watchers alike.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOtaThis content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI

We're back with another AFTN Soccer Show packed full of Vancouver Whitecaps, Major League Soccer, Canadian Premier League, Northern Super League, and national team chat and interviews. What a week it's been in Whitecapsland. Turning our attention to the national teams, we look back at Canada's win over Ukraine in the Canadian Shield as they prepare for the Gold Cup, the Canadian women's U20s qualifying for the World Cup, and our feature interview is with the Vancouverite and Vancouver Rise player who scored her first goal for the senior team this week, Holly Ward. Shaun and I are not huge Valentine's folks, although neither are we the type who grumble about “manufactured holidays” and “forced love.” We typically view the holiday as a reason to get special treats for our kids and sneak in a yummy meal together. This year, though, Shaun thought it would be fun to make it a weekend away. And it was! But also, parts of it weren't. And there were plenty of opportunities to both learn from our mistakes and some rather unfortunate circumstances out of our control and also to remember anew the basic principles of not overreacting, giving each other grace, and keeping the main things the main things. Hopefully, you enjoy this Valentine's Day Weekend storytime and come away encouraged to invest well in your marriage, whatever circumstantial hiccups come your way.
