S2/E18 Richard Hungerford On this episode we are talking with Richard Hungerford, Richard grew up in the Redcliffe area, Papua New Guinea, Rockhampton. Richard took an interest in Martial Arts as a child and this has become a life long passion. Richard served in The Australian SAS were he was able to further develop his Martial Arts and Survival skills. On leaving Defence Richard found the transition difficult and embarked on an epic adventure to find his place in life. He pushed himself to the limits, heat exhaustion, hypothermia, starvation, and illness. However he did make it through and found his true purpose in life. S2/E15 On this episode we are talking with Gordon Traill. Gordon was born and raised in Victoria, after training as a Chef Gordon joined the Army and served as a cook. Gordon had many postings all over Australia, and operational service in Iraq. If you listen closely you may see a little Gordon Ramsey come out in Gordon. Gordon also reveals the story of the Bagdad Golfer, a mythical story now confirmed as true. After his service Gordon has been exploring many different creative activities to keep him occupied. These include photography, writing, and art. This has seen Gordon involved in several books including Unconquered our Wounded Warriors about the Invictus Games, and The Victoria Cross Australia Remembers covering our 100 VC recipients although we do acknowledge we now have 101. S2/E14 Rodger Cook On this episode we are talking with Rodger Cook (Cookie). Rodger has over 25 years of global security and crisis management experience across multiple sectors, including military and the corporate security space. Rodger has been involved in military operations in Rwanda, Iraq, East Timor, and the Solomon Islands. In the corporate security space, he has lead recovery efforts in Vanuatu following a major cyclone and assisted with the evacuation of clients caught up in conflict in South Sudan. Having lived and worked in Zambia, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and Madagascar. Rodger now finds himself back in Australia supporting organisations to better understand their travel risk management needs. S2/E13 David Ure. David “Davie” is a proud Scotsman born and bred, his father was a Soldier and Davie spent much of his youth moving around Europe following his father’s career. Davie played Rugby as a lad and by all accounts was quite good, however the call of the Army was strong. Davie joined the British Army and served with 3rd Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland (The Black Watch). Davie served in Afghanistan on two occasions and had aspirations of doing SAS Selection, however due to medical reasons he was unable to, and discharged on medical grounds. Davies wife is American and due to COVID they are living on opposite sides of the world, Davie intends to move to the US and start anew. I really enjoyed talking with Davie, he is a younger guy with an older head, and has clear goals for his life moving forward. We had a great talk with “Warry” George, on his childhood, recruit training, training for Korea, service in Korea, Japan, Malaya, Vietnam and everything in between. His ability to remember names and details was amazing, he even tells us of his rise up and down the ranks, several times. Truly a great character and a true Aussie Larkin.

Robert Bazzard, born in Wales served in the British Army, lateral transferred to Australian Army. Now live in North Queensland with his family and calls Australia Home.
