Pastor Smith's Goodbye Sermon
Mark 6:30-44 -- What are the crowds in search of? What are they trying to find? Have you found it?
Mark 6:1-13; Ezekiel 2:1-5 -- Why Does God send prophets even into situations where failure is inevitable? Old Testament prophets and God's own Son, Jesus were both sent directly into failure. Maybe our definition of success is different from God's.
Mark 4:35-41 -- People wonder if Jesus will calm the storms of their life. Perhaps a different question from this story is more important: Who then is this?
Genesis 3:8-15 -- Adam and Eve's first instinct was to hide from God after they sinned. We are much the same, and yet God still seeks us out.
Deuteronomy 5:12-15 -- The importance of rest in Scripture and in our lives.
John 3:1-17 -- On this Trinity Sunday we examine miracles and their true purpose.
John 15:9-17 -- What is love? It might not be what you think.

Mark 16:1-8 - Pastor Chuck meanders through his Easters past and how he came to understand it's true meaning.
John 19:17-30 - Sometimes we act as though life is a stage play and we are just audience members. The scene at the cross is one where we must place ourselves not in the audience but on the stage.
Mark 14:12-26 - Jesus gathered with his disciples after dark to eat the Passover. Now the church of Christ gathers and is invited to this same table.
Mark 15:1-47 - This message delivered on Palm Sunday (Sunday of the Passion) explores the profound silence exhibited by Jesus in his last hours before the cross.
Mark 10:35-45 - Just after Jesus' third passion prediction in the Gospel of Mark, James and John make a big blunder. How is this reflective of how we tend to think, and how does Jesus nudge us in a new direction?
John 3:14-21 - Rarely do our three lectionary readings fit together so perfectly as this week. Let's explore what it means to be lifted up.
John 2:13-25 - This angry Jesus turning over tables is not our typical image of Jesus. What are we take make of the large gap between our typical portrait of Jesus and this scene of Jesus cleansing the temple?
James 1:12-18 - We often mistake God for being like us. This message explores how God is unchangeable and the difference between a test and a temptation.
Mark 9:2-9 - In an attempt to explore the Transfiguration of Christ from a fresh angle, Pastor Chuck examines the Transfiguration in light of some current trends in technology.
Isaiah 40:21-31 - Sometimes we may wonder if God cares about our Problems. Sometimes we may wonder if he is willing or able to help. Isaiah has an important message for these doubts.
Deuteronomy 18:15-20 - Moses says in Deuteronomy 18 that God would raise up a a prophet like him from among the brothers. This message examines the similarities and differences in the prophetic ministries of Moses and Jesus.
Mark 1:14-20 - What kind of reprioritizing takes place when we are called to be a disciple of Jesus Christ?
Romans 6:1-11 - Today is the Baptism of our Lord. Why was Jesus Baptized if he was without sin? What does our own baptism mean for the new life in Christ? Pastor Chuck explores the concept of royal anointing to see why Jesus was baptized and what it means for you.
Luke 2:22-40 - Liturgical worship is becoming less common and people are not always familiar with the origins and meaning of this ancient form of worship. Connecting with the Song of Simeon in Luke chapter 2, Pastor Chuck gives a general introduction to the liturgy.
Isaiah 62:10-12 - Names give important meaning. Let's look at the names won for us as the people of God.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-24 - Paul often concludes his letters with a long list of exhortations. Can we find some connection between these reminders and how can we carry them out in real life?
Isaiah 40:1-11 - Everything starts with an opening act. Can this principal be applied to our life in Christ?
Isaiah 64:1-9 - There is a lot of sin coming to light every day in the news, what is God's answer to this brokenness?
