THE FISH STORY: THE FINAL ANALYSIS Tonight, we build upon our November 4 and 11, 2023 podcasts on fish farming. These Nigerian children have concluded that commencing fish farming with a limited number of baby fishes is the most sensible way to mitigate poverty, ensure familial well-being, and produce household income to acquire food. We thank Zhiri James, a valued member of our Nigerian audience, for showcasing economic advancement and healthy dietary habits among these children. It was fun to hang out with these kids that were so excited about fish farming.

We've all run from something, a hard conversation, a tough decision, a call from God we didn't want to answer. Jonah did, too. Most people know him as “the guy who got swallowed by a fish,” but his story is really about what happens when we run… and what grace looks like when we stop. In this series, we're looking at Jonah's journey, not just the part with the fish, but the real-life stuff: the choices that backfired, the storms that followed, and the unexpected shot at a second chance. This isn't just an old Bible story, it's a reflection of the world we live in. If you've ever felt lost, overwhelmed, or like you've been running from something for way too long… Jonah's story might just be your story, too. Solopreneurs often get advised to show their real selves--to come out from behind the website and reveal who they really are. And one way to do this is to tell stories. What's wrong with this advice? First of all, "Just tell a story" means, "Curate a good story portfolio." A story may represent your self...but you have many selves. The first part of this podcast talks about this point. Which self is the Real You? At about 5.0, you'll get 3 tips to share authentic stories: 1 - know what "be yourself" really means 2 - why "I understand where you're coming from" can mean "I'm clueless" (and what to do instead) 3 - how your audience will have way too much fun with your fish story (with one of my favorite real examples) This podcast will be especially helpful for solopreneurs who want to showcase their authentic, human selves...but wonder which side to share. After all, you're one person when you attend your friend's formal wedding. And you're another person altogether when you're attending a picnic with friends who enjoy four-letter words every other sentence. If you'd like to see how one solopreneur combines personal stories with financial knowledge, listen to the previous episode of this podcast. Jacquette Timmons, a financial behaviorist, tells stories to make people understand the role emotions play in finance...and she does this without making you uncomfortable about hiring her. The eighth saying in the Gospel of Thomas is a big fish story. Jesus said, "The man is like a wise fisherman who cast his net into the sea and drew it up from the sea full of little fish. Among them the wise fisherman discovered a fine large fish. He threw all the little fish back into the sea, and easily chose the large fish. Anyone here with two good ears had better listen!"
Holy Trinity welcomes Bishop Amy Current of the Southeastern Iowa Synod of the ELCA as our preacher. She shares a story of grace where the big story is not about the fish.
from Luke 5:1-11While the crowd was pressing in on Jesus and listeningto the word of God,he was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret. He saw two boats there alongside the lake;the fishermen had disembarked and were washing their nets.Getting into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon,he asked him to put out a short distance from the shore. Then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat. After he had finished speaking, he said to Simon,"Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch."Simon said in reply,"Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets."Read the full scripture passage: bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/020925.cfmFifth Sunday in Ordinary TimeHeart to Heart Catholic Media MinistryEvangelize Seekers. Moe and the G-man discuss the dark days behind and the glory days ahead.
Biology textbooks often present misleading interpretations about the evolution of fish into land animals. They typically assert that early fish had air-filled swim bladders that evolved into lungs, but according to evolutionists' own form of dating, the fossils show that lungs appeared in fish before swim bladders. This contradiction undermines the evolutionary narrative and supports the biblical creation account, where both lunged and swim-bladder fish were created on the fifth day.
