Dan is know for forming the first official Star Trek fan club, creating Star Trek Communicator Magazine, and running the official Lucasfilm Fan Club for nearly 20 years, just to name a few. Being a longtime fan of Star Trek, starting with TOS syndication in the 70s, Dan started his jaunt into the fan club scene with a small ad in Starlog Magazine in 1979. The fan club grew with leaps and bounds until 1982 when he was approached by Paramount to head the first officially licensed Star Trek fan club. Dan has been a major force in Trekdom for over 30 years and has continued his work today with the extremely popular Her Universe clothing and collectibles company We had an amazing time talking to Dan and reliving his journey through both Star Trek and Star Wars fandom. To be honest, there's too much to fit in just one episode. Hopefully we can have him back in the very near future. This is a gem of an episode that you don't want to miss.

Both Bob & J.G. will be on hand in full klingon regalia for a special panel, plus other (non-forhead ridged) events for the full run of the convention. Just to be a bit transparent, we had some technical difficulties in the recording of this episode. So, some of the interview will seem a bit disjointed and spliced together. Both J.G. & Bob were fantastic and gracious in re-recording a few parts that were lost. During the interview, we talk about their respective times in Trek-dom as well as other projects that the duo have worked on. If you're fans of Klingons (like we are), be sure to download this episode.

We’re pleased to announce episode 18 of our “Life After Trek” podcast, the "R U R" Special, featuring Chase Masterson & James Kerwin. Chase & James sit down with us to talk about their new film project R.U.R. & the crowd sourced "spin-off" short R.U.R.: Genesis. A play written by Karel Capek in 1919 -- and decades ahead of its time -- R.U.R. is a sharp commentary on progress, politics, and relationships, accurately predicting advances in biotechnology and setting the tone for future science fiction masterpieces like Metropolis and Blade Runner. In this retro-futuristic adaptation of the classic play (co-written & directed by James & starring Chase) R.U.R. depicts a world populated by genetically engineered workers ("artificials") — perfect, made-to-order humans who lack fundamental rights. We've loved Yesterday Was a Lie and are really looking forward to the release of this project. In the meantime, R.U.R: Genesis is a "spin-off" short film that Chase & James are on the cusp of making and need your help to complete. Much like many other indie productions, Genesis is looking for funding from the fan community. There are several contribution levels, including one that guarentees you a walk on role. On top of that, your donations are tax deductable. If you would like to help this production get off the ground, you can contribute on the R.U.R. Indiegogo page here.
