Waiting all summer to find out where your favorite Trek team disappeared to (unless that team consisted of Lt. Worf)? Well if you weren't sure, it was Nineteen Century San Francisco-Paramount and things get wacky as Jean Luc, Bevahlee, Riker, Geordi, Data, Guinan adventure it up -- say, who's running the ship anyway? Oh, right -- Worf. Sad trombone for our favorite Klingon! Seems some energy vampiring aliens are feeding old Earth losers to some kind of energy god, or mother, or I don't know, don't try to get me to explain that part of it. Last time we saw our intrepid crew in a cave, following some aliens through a very slowly closing energy rift… wait a minute, I almost forgot, Troi was there too! Troi and the rest of our Enterprise cast, (save Worf), land back in old San Fran and do what we've been begging the show to do for five seasons -- an original series adventure! They pretend to be a traveling acting troupe for room and board as they hide out in a hospital to nab the energy sucking aliens -- PANT PANT. Meanwhile, ol Samuel Clemmens is snooping big time and still following our crew to that cave -- no, no, not the cave on PLANET WHATEVER, the cave in San Francisco where they found Data's head! That cave. They go back there, have an alien encounter where Whoopie gets p'owned and everyone but Picard and Whoopie, (everyone including Mark Twain) gets zapped up into the future, then way UP into the Enterprise! PANT PANT PANT!  This old author goes all Alice Through the Looking Glass as Picard boob-holds Whoopie and tries to figure a way to get out of the 1800's and back to his Galaxy Class Ship! Will Geordie be able to reassemble his best buddy, Data? Will Riker and Worf blow up some aliens (and maybe their Captain?) Will we finally get to learn why Guinan and Picard are so close? No, no, we don't learn that, we never learn that.) Find out on this exciting episode of ST: TNGEEZ, Not Another Star Trek Podcast!Even more available at: https://tngeez.com

Episode Notes First there's a lot of non-DS9 chat, sorry. Who Mourns for Morn: Quark has been holding Morn's seat via holo-Morn. But Morn has... died? The entire station shows up to his wake. Morn leaves everything to Quark, which is... nothing. Except for a painting of a matador. And a mud bath. And a naked woman. And a rumor of 1000 bricks of gold-pressed latinum. Quark gets threatened by the most Coen Brothers goons ever. Morn was... a prince? So many short cons. It's not latinum, it's just... worthless gold. Odo and Quark have boyfriend telepathy. One Little Ship: Time to do SCIENCE. Kira is genre aware and thinks it's hilarious to shrink members of the command crew. Nog covers for Worf. Intergenerational conflict among the JemHadar. Itty Bitty Photon Torpedoes. Maybe the Founders put a little too much Cardassian in the new Alphas. BabSpace9 is a production of the Okay, So network. Casual Trek - A Star Trek Recap and Ranking Podcast

Grab your Bat'leth and prepare to experience bij as our Casual Heroes once more find themselves dealing with the Shakespearean Shouty Men of Space, the Klingons! In their first episode ‘A Little Private War,' we get very little Klingons and a lot more allegories for the Vietnam war as Kirk and McCoy get involved in shennanigans which have little to no purpose and then in ‘Sins of the Father,' Picard and Worf get to do Space Opera intrigue on the Klingon homeworld while Wesley Crusher gets bullied by Tony Todd and we see the start of Worf's ever continuing dissolusionment with the Klingon people and then finally, in ‘wej Duj,' Boimler's attempts to get a bridge buddy escalate into a web of lies while we see what Klingon and Vulcan Lower Deckers do on their own ships. Hey, is that T'Lynn? It doesn't matter because you know how I told you to prepare to experience bij? EXPERIENCE BIJ!EPISODES DISCUSSED: A Private Little War (10:31), Sins of the Father (42:37) and wej Duj (01:06:22)TALKING POINTS INCLUDE: We've never done Hirogen episodes, Iron Lung, Kill James Bond, Miles goes on a rant about James Bond, it's a metaphor for Vietnam, Gene Roddenberry and Chris Claremont's fetish journals, it's been a while since we've had an episode be both racist AND sexist, Kirk doesn't do a Starfleet, Miles realises that in SF… you can just make shit up, Miles tries to summon the Candyman and we legitimately get to talk about Brighton, an appropriate Mighty Boosh reference, proper Space opera with cloaks and knives, Kurn bullies Wesley in a weird form of prison rules, Patrick Stewart glad to do some proper theatre shouty acting, Worf's long life of moral compromises begins, Miles and Charlie are probably too British to watch ‘For All Mankind,' we finally crack why we hate Ed Sheeran, Miles would rather be watching Cronernberg-pervefest Shivvers than listen to Sheeran at work Miles is definately the Garrett of his place of work, Rowan Atkinson would make an amazing Romulan and so much of space travel must just be allieviating boredom, even for Star Trek.

Eternal Christendom Podcast

The Great Rosary Campaign is an ongoing prayer and penance campaign for the conversion and strengthening of both Catholic and non-Catholic leaders. As a "Trekkie" (lover of Star Trek), we will be devoting several Great Rosary Campaigns to praying for the conversion of all remaining Star Trek cast members to the Catholic Faith.THIS WEEK of the Great Rosary Campaign: Star Trek Edition, we are praying for the conversion of Michael Dorn, who played Lt. Commander Worf (everyone's favorite Klingon) on the various Enterprises in "Star Trek: The Next Generation," and in "Deep Space Nine." Please join us in praying that he may "live long and prosper" unto eternal life. The SUGGESTED PENANCE this week is a Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament, the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist. In these dark times, we must fight evil with the most powerful weapons we have. The Rosary is foremost among them. Join the Great Rosary Campaign today at: www.GreatRosaryCampaign.com.Countless Saints and Popes have told us that the Rosary is incredibly powerful for three things in particular:Keeping the FaithMoral renovationConversions of non-CatholicsThe Great Rosary Campaign is also based on several biblical themes and principles.First, PRAY FOR OUR BRETHREN. “Pray for one another…” (Jas. 5:16). “So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of faith" (Gal. 6:10).Second, PRAY FOR OUR ENEMIES. “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven" (Matt. 5:43-44).Third, PRAY FOR ALL MEN, PARTICULARLY LEADERS AND THOSE IN AUTHORITY. “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, or kings and all who are in high positions…” (1 Tim. 2:1-2).Fourth, GOING INTO BATTLE WITH THE ARK. When the ancient Israelites came to Jericho, God didn't tell them to besiege the city. Instead, He told them to march around it with the Ark of the Covenant seven times, and on the seventh the walls would fall. We will now "march" in prayer for seven days with the New Ark of the Covenant, Our Lady, through the Rosary. We pray in hope that on the seventh day, a day especially devoted to Our Lady (Saturday), extraordinary graces of conversion will be given to those we are praying for.Fifth, EVANGELISM AND APOLOGETICS = LOVE + ARGUMENTS + PRAYER + PENANCE. Ultimately it is God who reveals Himself to a soul, and empowers them to say "yes" to Him by His grace. He chooses to use us, but He does not have to. We must remember that as we evangelize and defend the Faith, our arguments will be fruitless unless informed by love (charity), and reinforced by prayer and penance.Sixth, RETURNING GOOD FOR EVIL. “Do not return evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but on the contrary bless, for to this you have been called, that you may obtain a blessing" (1 Pet. 3:9).Sign up to take part in the Great Rosary Campaign today: www.GreatRosaryCampaign.com

Worf egy klingon fesztiválra viszi Alexandert, hogy fiában is feléledjen a harcos életmód iránti érdeklődés, amikor pedig megtámadják őket az utcán, a Mogh-ház segítője, K'mtar siet a segítségükre. Miután megismerkednek, a család barátja maga is sulykolni kezdi, hogy Alexandernek ideje felkészülni az örökségére, a fiú azonban egyáltalán nem biztos benne, hogy a klingonok útját szeretné járni. In ‘The First Duty,' Wesley ‘THE BOY' Crusher gets in with a guy who looks nothing like Tom Paris and is really too invested in being with the cool kids for someone who helped saved the galaxy at least three times. Then, Jake and Nog end up on a ship with a bunch of cadets forced to grow up too fast in ‘The Valiant' and Nog drinks the kool-aid of a wanna be Kurtz just out of short trousers. Then we head into the 32nd Century as Tilly and Adira have to debate what's worse, dealing with energy absorbing creatures on an ice-planet or dealing with a bunch of angsty kids with emotional baggage? Jadzia wants the wedding before Alexander gets killed. Dax is amused by Worf's bridezilla-ing. Worf sells what the boys think is a 4 day bachelor party. You should really read Shakespeare in the original Klingon. Klingon domestic politics. Jadzia has a bachelorette party with basically everyone not at Worf's ascetic fast-fest. O'Brien Suffers [fun?]. What better place to talk about feelings than a loud and noisy party? Kira and Odo 7 hours in heaven. O'Brien and Bashir have some goofs. Klingon mythology kinda rules. Quark's hands? Damarr is just bad at everything. Morn?! Kira whoops Damarr like he's Worf on TNG. Nog receives a promotion! The heroes so far are Quark, Rom, and Morn. Sisko is tired of running, time to retake DS9. Sacrifice of Angels: The Charge of the not-so-light brigade. Time for a fleet battle. Quark is... not under suspicion? 4D Chess. The comparative morals of exterminatus vs triumphs. Weyoun finally reads Dukat. Costuming choices. The Female Changeling makes some choices. Quark does some shenanigans. Quark does some SHENANIGANS. Anika and Liz attend a four-day Klingon bachelor party -- where the feats of strength include somehow NOT developing a time machine to go back to 1997 and fight the entire DS9 writers room for Jadzia's honour.  Yes, our wedding series has brought us to Star Trek: Deep Space 9's "You Are Cordially Invited", and we have ... questions. Concerns. Loud protests. And that's just Anika's cats! Both this and "Data's Day" were written by Ronald D. Moore, and we are trying not to read too much into anything This is an episode about Dax rejecting the Klingon gender binary and being punished and publicly humiliated for it, including by her friends Not a single character is changed by the events of this episode, except Jadzia, who learns an important lesson about tolerating abuse (it's good and she should do it) Complaining that there are no TNG characters at Worf's wedding is a lot more fun than talking about all the ways the script throws Jadzia under the bus … so we do both! Lieutenant Atoa, infidelity and using Polynesian people as props If Odo has this "instinct for justice", why doesn't it apply to facing consequences for his own wrongs? Giving Avery Brooks a line telling Terry Farrell to suck it up and kiss the boots of a racist, xenophobic asshole is … a choice. A REAL choice.  Justice for all the Daxes (except Curzon, who is actually the reason some of the Daxes deserve justice)

Episode Notes We had a good week. Too bad these episodes are less good. Sons and Daughters: Worf continues to bridezilla. Bet you forgot Alexander existed, because Worf sure did. Worf continues to be a terrible dad. Dukat is a less terrible parent than Worf, somehow. Dukat is able to simultaneously be genuine and try to find every possible advantage. Martok is, on the other hand, a swell dude and a better friend than Worf deserves. Behind the Line: The Defiant is operating out of Starbase 375 and kicking butt. So much that Sisko's skills are being "better used elsewhere". Poor Captain Dad. The Ketracel White situation is getting worse, and Damarr has no opsec. The Female Changeling stops by the station to goo with Odo, and gosh is that bad for the resistance cell. BabSpace9 is a production of the Okay, So network. Come on a journey with us. A story of true love, as we watch Star Trek: The Next Generation's "Data's Day", one of the great romances of all time.  We speak, of course, of the relationship between Admiral Mendak and Subcommander Selok.  Also Miles and Keiko get married.  This is the third episode in our wedding series, and the first marriage between two enthusiastically consenting adults But is it? Is it really? Keiko is a controversial character for a lot of reasons, many of which boil down to sexism and racism, but ALSO her introduction here does her no favours Much like Deanna and Wyatt in "Haven", Miles and Keiko's relationship is written as if they are adolescents AND IT'S WEIRD We are obsessed with all the background details: Age Gap Couple! The USS Zhukov! 17 feline supplements! Helm Ken! Patricia Tallman!  Data considers Worf a kindred spirit, and we have to ask: does Worf feel the same way? One oblique hint at a time, we WILL make Beverly Crusher a three-dimensional character! LOVE the costumes in this ep, mostly, but we cannot endorse Keiko's hair chopsticks Not many people know this, but T'Pel's shark fin hat and Winn's Sydney Opera House hat are friends

Movie reviews #55Eight movies today, can you believe it.1 (Brewster Mcloud 1970) Very early Robert Altman film here where the amazing Margret Hamilton plays a racist jerk. Another early 70's offering that's quite trippy and political 2 (Three sisters 1970) A hard to watch production of an Anton Chekhov novel, I may have slept through this in high school. It is cool to me only because It stars the Grandma mechanic from (I love you to death),3 (Legend of Boggy Creek 1972) Tagline, Rated G Hick, Bigfoot movie, barely.4 (Man who fell to Earth 1976) Rip Torn, Buck Henry, and Candy Clark star in this sci if classic, that we should all see in the theater once. Almost forgot about the guy who wants the baby in Labyrinth, he's here too. JK fam Bowie's cool (rest in space).5 (Sammy 1977) These Jesus films crack me up as a recovering Catholic it always amuses me, among other things. This one got a theatrical release. please listen to hear how much money it made opening weekend, I believe it will put a smile on yer face. 6 (Soldier of Orange 1977) Our first Paul Verhoeven film. I remember this being very good, but not much else. the guy who wants “more life, fucker.” In Blade Runner is young and joins the Dutch resistance.7 (Yesterdays Child 1977) This made for tv movie is deliciously bizarre. Starring the mom of the Partridge family and the General from Planet of the Apes 5.8 (Dummy 1979) Worf's human brother, Geordie La'Forge, and the dip shit cop who goes after John Jay Rambo and doesn't bring a bunch O body bags, star in this rad film about tryin to fight Ableism in the halls of justice. Thanks for listening.

It's that time of year where we try and delve into the strange and scary for our Halloween episode and this time, we've hit upon altered states (not the Ken Russell film) where our heroes undergo a strange transformation, in TOS ‘Wolf in the Fold,' Bones' obsession with getting Scotty laid ends in a lot of mysterious stabbings that date back to Victorian London while in Voyager's ‘Darkling,' the Doctor's attempt to improve himself by adding bits of other people into him starts making him very large in the tooth and a little too psychosexual towards Kes while in DS9's ‘Empok Nor,' O'Brien, Nog, Garak and a collection of clearly important side characters go to a deserted Cardassian Space Station to steal some wiring ends with psychotropic drug-induced violence. Typical. Happy Halloween!Episodes Discussed: A Wolf In the Fold (13:19) Darkling (42:06) Empok Nor (01:11:42)Talking Points Include: The European cut of Kubrick's ‘The Shining,' Horror Movies, We HATE Pan and Scan, Weird UK Film edits, Bones clearly wanting to get laid, my God, they do a seance, Robert Bloch and Harlan Ellison's twin Ripper stories in ‘Dangerous Visions,' censorship and no Kirk shirt rip for drugs this time, Jack the Ripper in other SF franchises, no walk of shame for Kes, Picardo's make-up leads to a lesson about old special effects, the Civilization Gandhi glitch, does Kes actually grown over her four years, CSI Tuvok, Jeremy Renner-gy, when romantic comedies have to make the rival partner an utter jerk, Robert Picardo with hair is amazing, MMMbop, Tom Waits covering Disney, ‘Cardies' does not work as a derogatory slur, what Brighton sounds like, Garak Bashir and O'Brian probably don't hang out at the same time, the original plan with Worf vs. Garak would not have been as fun, Nog trying too hard, ‘Bolian Dies First,' there's probably a meeting about Garak being a spy.

This episode has it all! An exciting opening where the Enterprise saves Tessen III from a rogue asteroid! The return of fan favorites Alexander and Lwaxana Troi! A bunch of kooky holodeck characters who can juggle and shake dat ass! And mud bath after mud bath! So much mud! You won't believe all the mud! After being knocked around and paralyzed so far this season, Worf is further humiliated when we see what a terrible father he is...again. His conflicts with the willful-but-still-adorable toddler Alexander are made worse when Troi's mother Lwaxana comes to visit. Seems she's found herself a new husband and plans to get married on Starfleet's own Love Boat, the Enterprise. But she still has time to interfere with her daughter's efforts to teach Worf how to be a good dad because of course she does. All this, and yet another shiny entity wrecks havoc on the ship to give the rest of the cast something to do. Will Deanna be able to mend relations between Worf and Alexander? Will Data and Geordi be able to stop the fairy lights from destroying the ship? Will someone please shove me into an airlock and shoot me out into space, so I can enjoy the soothing peace of the vacuum of the void? Even more available at: https://tngeez.com

Sisko is out of commission, Kira finally learns how to treat him like a regular friend and not with all the reverence due the Emissary (had she been doing that?), Worf plays out the ol' "person suddenly in command who needs to learn how to be command" trope, and Bashir and Dax get cracking on retconning Bashir. But don't forget about Odo! Actually, you probably can except for one scene.[Episode discussion begins around 1:23 - for a whopping 2:45 for a regular episode! Mostly nonsense.]
