“The Siege” 30th-anniversary reflections With civilians evacuated, Sisko, Li Nalas, and the station's crew prepare for the arrival of the Bajoran militia and their Vidal Sassoon salon-perfect hair. Missing from the gang are Kira and Dax, who have gone to the Bajoran moon Luna V to ask the local palukoo spider-dogs if they can borrow an abandoned raider from the days of the Occupation. They plan to crash the Chamber of Ministers and reveal evidence that the Cardassians are supplying The Circle with weapons. General Krim and his sidekick, Colonel Day, easily succumb to the crew's guerrilla tactics and hand the station back over to Sisko. But things don't turn out so rosy for the Navarch. In this episode of The Orb, hosts C Bryan Jones and Matthew Rushing continue our 30th-anniversary retrospective that will take you through all of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, one episode at a time. At last, your faithful podcaster reach the origin point for the most underbaked, poorly explained antagonistic force in all of Berman-era Trek as we review "The Maquis, Pt1"! When a bad actor shows up to play Sisko's totally-not-a-terrorist best friend, we get a fantastic buddy cop road trip with Dukat, some seriously dickish Cardassians, and your hosts lamenting for 20 minutes about how much better it all could have been with minimal effort.
“The Circle” 30th-anniversary reflections The plans of the Bajoran group known as The Circle become clear thanks to an unexpected source—Quark—who has been newly christened Odo's number-one deputy (Quark's words). The group is being supplied with weapons by another unexpected source, the Cardassians. Who's running The Circle? Well, that's also a bit unexpected. But one thing that is clear from the start is that Vedek Bareil has the hots for Kira. It's all setup in the middle part of Star Trek's first three-parter. In this laugh-out-loud episode of Tuck In, the Tucker sisters—Olive (our fiery, fashion-forward youngest), Sandra (the ever-sensitive middle child with a side of sass), and Catherine (the fabulous eldest who isn't afraid to huff and puff)—go full throttle on one of life's greatest inevitabilities: getting old. Or as they like to say, becoming an OAP (Old Age Patriot, perhaps?).From the moment Olive announces they're tucking into the topic of the “Elder Lemons,” it's chaos. They dissect old wives' tales like they're on MythBusters. Cutting your hair on the first Friday of every month to make it grow? Drinking milk for the baby's teeth while pregnant? According to Olive, Friday haircuts don't communicate with your follicles, and babies don't come out looking like Dracula. Sandra tries to defend tradition with a straight face, and Catherine drops in with her usual dose of dry realism.Cue the complaints about old habits: fixed mealtimes, portion sizes shrinking, and the sacred ritual of being early. Olive rails against being on time (or god forbid, late), while Catherine—Miss Punctuality herself—nearly self-combusts at the suggestion. Then there's the great trolley debate: Olive refuses to touch one even if it's designer, Catherine is proudly trolley-curious, and Sandra's ready to lead the Trolley Parade in Tesco. The episode somehow turns into a deep dive on priests (Olive might have a type?), trendy clergy, and the “perks” of religious life: free house, free wine, no early starts. Somewhere along the way, we discover Catherine broke her telly with a rogue Christmas candle and denied it for days. Justice for the telly.Language blunders get their time to shine too. Between “giraffe” pronounced like “raft,” “Cardassians” instead of Kardashians, and “Crips” instead of crisps, it's a miracle anyone knows what they're talking about. They ponder whether they're turning into their parents—and spoiler: they absolutely are. Sandra's getting life-coachy, Catherine's grounding the kids before they've left the house, and Olive's busy trying to stop herself from morphing into her ma in a headscarf and open-toe slingbacks.Arguments? Of course. They cover fight styles—from silent treatments to storming off mid-huff. Catherine keeps her fury in a box (Pandora style), while Olive likes to act out seven full arguments in her head before making up. Sandra? She's probably coaching everyone through it while simultaneously blaming someone. The episode wraps with a nod to aging wardrobes (bye-bye, six-inch heels, hello padded coats and orthopedic shoes), make-up realness, and a heartfelt—if slightly sarcastic—note on self-love. Olive won't push a trolley, but she'll push your buttons. Sandra wants receipts (literally), and Catherine just wants peace… and maybe a new telly.Follow:https://www.instagram.com/tuckinsisters/https://twitter.com/Tuckinsistershttps://www.tiktok.com/@tuckinsistersProduced by Graco Studioshttps://www.gracostudios.comhttps://twitter.com/gracostudioshttps://instagram.com/gracostudioshttps://tiktok.com/@gracostudios Hosted on Acast. We resume our discussion of 'The Autobiography of Benjamin Sisko' written by Derek Tyler Attico, as we cover chapters 21 through 24. In this episode, Benjamin talks about picking his personal for Deep Space Nine, becoming the Emissary to the Bajoran people, Cardassians, and betrayal. Join us as we chop it up!

The Cardassians leave for their Star Trek Voyager 30th anniversary cruise in just 8 short days and Joe has never seen an episode of Voyager yet! Today, we change that. Join the Cardassians as we review the Voyager pilot "Caretaker" and also watch one of Nick's favorite episodes "Year of Hell"
The Cardassians get to complaining about Lions football. But after that, we spend a lot of time talking about the new Star Trek: Section 31 movie. Reviews aren't great. Is this the end of Trek for a while? In the 2nd half of the episode, we review "Data's Day" and "The Wounded"
Cardassians among us! Meric Moir, Al Spader, Jim Johnson and Michael Dismuke march into the melodrama that is Cardassians to give GMs and players food for thought when selecting these characters to play. https://linktr.ee/studiotembo

Less than two months to our Star Trek cruise and we booked flights through Spirit! What are we thinking? The Cardassians talk about the delay of "Batman 2" , Disney and the 700 Million for Andor, and Bob Dylan. We wrap up our episode by reviewing "Brothers" and "Suddenly Human"
When a humble tailor can't keep his hands to himself, we are gifted the opportunity to review "Cardassians"! After Garak gets bit, the galaxy's most complex custody battle takes place. O'Brian gets to be extremely racist, Dukat gets to chew scenery, and Bashir might want to think about locking his door.
It's the 23rd, and you know what that means? It's time to celebrate FESTIVUS! Join the Cardassians as we talk Seinfeld. But before we get there, hear our reactions to the Superman trailer.
I love doing musical intros! After his old archeology teacher shows up to guilt trip him on a goose chase, Picard fondles some figurines before his teacher is killed. He leaves behind a trail, and Picard ignores protocol to make the DNA tell him and Crusher where to go next. Cardassians show up, then Klingons and Romulans, yet the Captain finds a way to put the petal to the warp metal and piece together the news that one man seeded all the species in the galaxy. That's why the aliens of Star Trek all look the same. Because they all came from one dude. His name was Roddenberry! Get in touch with us on BlueSky @ReEngageTNG.bsky.social! There is a lot of Batman news this week...and since Batman makes everything better you get to hear about it. It also wouldn't be a normal episode if Rob couldn't talk about Mission Impossible. The Cardassians then dive into "The Whitest Sitcom Ever". Finally, in the 2nd half, our review of "The Next Generation" continues with "Sarek" and "Menage A Troi"
Its another week of the Cardassians, which means more Woody Harrelson slander. We debate 16 year old drivers verse 87 year old drivers. Finally, we continue our review of The Next Generation reviewing the episodes "Hollow Pursuits" and "The Most Toys".

In the 2nd half, our review of Star Trek: The Next Generation continues with the episodes "Captain's Holiday" and "Tin Man"
This episode was recorded on March 14, 2024. Scott and Sam discuss "The Way of the Warrior," where war breaks out between the Klingons and the Cardassians, two alien races with unsteady alliances with the United Federation of Planets. The Klingons' aggression jeopardizes the peace between them and the Federation, and Worf, as the only Klingon officer in Starfleet, is brought in to deal with the situation. And for some reason, the Cardassians talk about amending the constitution. In the 2nd half of the episodes, the reviews of season 3 of Star Trek: The Next Generation continues. Up this week, "Sins of the Father" and "Allegiance".
"Duet." In the beginning of Deep Space Nine, often talked about as being "slow," there are classics, and there are AMAZING episodes. This first season episode is one of them, in which Kira Nerys is forced to confront her own personal prejudices. In this episode of Twin Cities Trekkies, which constitutes the sixth part of the podcast's 30+ Years of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine celebration, Wes is joined by Chris and Zach of The Random Redshirts Podcast to discuss this powerful first season episode of the show, which is often on the lists of the top 10 Deep Space Nine episodes. THE BRITISH MUSEUM is alive and well in the 24th century in the form of Captain Picard's old archeology professor Galen, whose shuttlecraft no doubt holds artifacts from countless civilizations taken from their native lands with a reckless abandon. But during all that grave robbing, Galen stumbled upon proof that there is no God, at least as we understand one. His death spurs Picard to take the Enterprise on a rogue mission to complete a galactic jigsaw puzzle. Bryan & Kristen review a pivotal episode for Picard's backstory that just so happens to be the impetus for the season mystery in Star Trek: Discovery's final season. They also talk about the beauty of Grace Kelly and escape rooms. Is this one a TREK, MARRY, or KILL?The grades begin at (17:32).
Episode Notes Indiscretion: A bottle episode with Dukat and Kira? Hilarity ensues. Dukat drops the mask a bit. Kira is surprised by well-read Dukat, and has to deal with Cardassians as something other than the oppressor. Foreign-object-in-butt jokes are funny. The... Breen? Sisko biffs it. Dax channels Curzon for a bit. Rejoined: Jadzia has never let Dax's baggage interfere in her job, right? right? Okay, how many gay awakenings came from this episode. The Ferengi apparently don't have close-up magic? Non-sex-related ear stuff. Worf is the anti-vibes and we love him for that. BabSpace9 is a production of the Okay, So network. The Joker 2 box office has been...less than steller. Is Megalopolis to blame? No, but the Cardassians talk about it anyway. We cover the Gen Z Bible, Star Trek on a late night talk show, and Nana Visitor's new book, "Open a Channel-A Women's Trek". In the 2nd half of the episode, the guys review the episodes, "Yesterday's Enterprise" and "The Offspring".
On this weeks KUWTC, Nick and Joe argue about the definition of fun and too many plots in “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice”. Rob talks about how much he loved Star Trek Day (But there is a bit of sarcasm). Finally, the Cardassians review the Star Trek The Next Generation episodes “The Hunted” and “The High Ground”.
Hey, got a light? To be continued leads us right into Picard singing like a songbird, as Kate says. He's in the well-lit torture room with David Warner as Gul Madred. Then we move to Cardassians showing their ipads and threatening Picard's life to our crack negotiating team. Riker's pissed Jellyroll won't admit Picard was acting for the Federation, and Jericho relieves him of duty. No really! Picard learn how to eat eggs and piss off torturers by not taking their shit. Riker's shit-eating grin goes into the nebula, plants some mines, and rescues Picard. Jellico's unchanged, but Picard has PTSD before we knew what that was. Hoo boy. This is a lot to unpack. No wonder we talk about a 47 minute episode for 86. :) Get in touch with us on BlueSky @ReEngageTNG.bsky.social! After a week on the disabled list, Joe is back. With his return, Joe goes on a rant against popcorn buckets, his love of rootbeer, and his questionable takes on Little Caesars Pizza. The Cardassians come up with a genius idea for a new type of movie theater. Finally, the guys continue their review of season 3 of Star Trek: The Next Generation reviewing the episodes, "The Vengeance Factor" and "The Defector".
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Series 5, Episode 24. First broadcast on Monday 19 May 1997. This week, Deep Space Nine does the best that it can with a slasher horror premise involving four redshirts and some murderous Cardassians, including beloved secondary character, plain, simple Garak. Fortunately, no one suffers any long-term ill-effects — except for the people who are no longer around to complain, I suppose.
This week on our show, Captain Ingle and I set a course for the 24th century and the ongoing negotiations between the United Federation of Planets and the Cardassian Union following a destructive war between the two powers. As a result of a new treaty, several Federation colonies along the border must be evacuated so that the Cardassians can take possession. One of these colonies is inhabited a tribe of Native Americans who have sought for many years to establish a permanent home. Captain Picard is tasked with removing these natives "by any means necessary" despite his obvious objections. What will he choose? Join us as we go boldly!
