Today's daily comedy show starts with one of the wildest survival stories we've heard in a while: a Portland mom grabs a stick and chases an intruder out of her house after hearing threats against her family. Naturally, this immediately turns into a debate about whether “crazy meets crazy” is actually a legitimate life strategy… which, according to Lern, it absolutely is. Honestly? She may have a point. Or she may just want an excuse to scream at strangers in Target. Jury's still out. Then the gang discovers the existence of chess boxing — yes, actual boxing mixed with speed chess — proving once again that humans were never meant to have free time. Imagine trying to remember your opening strategy immediately after getting punched in the face by a guy named Vlad who definitely owns fingerless gloves. St. Louis might officially be the perfect city for this nonsense considering we've got boxing history AND the Chess Hall of Fame. We're basically one monocle away from hosting the national championships. The chaos keeps rolling during “Three and Five,” where listeners somehow turn simple trivia into complete psychological warfare. Contestants debate whether wasabi counts as a sauce, dip, condiment, or emotional experience. Somebody accidentally invents a new sex position called “backwards cowboy.” Another contestant confidently uses “Abbey Road” as a Beatles song title. And somehow Hong Kong Fooey becomes the hero of the entire segment. Also in today's episode:Vanna White being worth WAY more money than anybody expectedWhy reverse cowgirl somehow became a group discussion at 8AMFast food mascots under pressureWhy construction workers apparently fear Final Destination in real lifeThe most stressful toothpaste question ever asked on live radioRizz trying to define wasabi like a culinary professor nobody asked forLern defending chaos with the confidence of someone who absolutely owns decorative swordsThis daily comedy show somehow combines weird news, ridiculous listener moments, pop culture nonsense, accidental relationship therapy, and the exact amount of sarcastic humor your brain probably didn't need before work — but got anyway. If you like funny podcasts, comedy talk, entertainment gossip, weird news stories, listener games gone off the rails, and the kind of morning show energy that sounds like a group text nobody should've replied to, welcome home. The Rizzuto Show is your favorite daily comedy show out of St. Louis on 105.7 The Point — proudly delivering chaos, sarcasm, celebrity fails, weird internet stories, and just enough accidental intelligence to stay employed.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

After spending the better part of two decades turning Rube Goldberg murder machines into an art form, the Final Destination Bloodlines series finally does something unexpected: it evolves. Bloodlines still delivers the franchise's trademark chaos—people getting folded, exploded, liquefied and generally punished for existing near household objects—but this time there's an actual emotional hook underneath the carnage. Shockingly, it works. Instead of drowning the audience in endless conversations about “death's design” and convoluted cosmic bookkeeping, the movie streamlines the setup and gets right to the fun while adding a family-centered angle that gives the victims more personality than “future corpse #4.” The family aspect is the smartest thing the franchise has done in years. Watching the curse ripple through generations gives the film a different energy from the usual disposable group-of-teens formula. There's tension not just in who dies, but in how these characters relate to one another before death inevitably hurls an air conditioner through somebody's sternum. The script wisely understands that audiences came for inventive disaster sequences, not a TED Talk from Ali Landry explaining metaphysical loopholes for the ninth time. Bloodlines trims the mythology down to its essentials and benefits immensely from it. It also absolutely nails its comedic timing. The Final Destination films have always flirted with dark comedy, but this one embraces it with confidence. The setup-payoff rhythm during the death sequences is wickedly funny, milking every fake-out and every suspiciously placed kitchen utensil for maximum audience anxiety. You can practically feel crowds bracing themselves for catastrophe while the movie toys with them. When the kills finally happen, they land with a perfect mix of shock, absurdity, and “you've got to be kidding me” escalation. It's the closest the series has come to recapturing the mischievous energy that made the early entries such crowd-pleasers. The visual effects team deserves serious credit here. The large-scale destruction sequences are polished, detailed, and satisfyingly vicious without looking weightless or cartoonish. There's a craftsmanship to the mayhem that elevates the material beyond simple splatter gags. That said, the movie occasionally leans a little too hard into melodrama, especially during some of the family conflict scenes. Whether that works will depend on what you want out of the experience. If you're only showing up to watch fate turn landscaping equipment into instruments of death, the emotional beats may feel a touch overwrought. But for a franchise six movies deep, Bloodlines deserves praise for at least trying to give the audience something fresh while still delivering the gleeful mayhem everybody bought a ticket for.

fWotD Episode 3298: Erik Campbell (Final Destination) Welcome to featured Wiki of the Day, your daily dose of knowledge from Wikipedia's finest articles. The featured article for Saturday, 16 May 2026, is Erik Campbell (Final Destination).Erik Campbell is a character from Final Destination Bloodlines (2025), the sixth installment in the supernatural horror film franchise Final Destination, directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein. He was created by Guy Busick, Lori Evans Taylor, and Jon Watts, and was portrayed by Richard Harmon. Erik is introduced as the son of Howard and Brenda Campbell, being the oldest of their three children. In the 1960s, his paternal grandmother Iris had a vision of a restaurant tower collapsing and prevented the disaster, saving herself and hundreds of others. As Erik and his family were not supposed to exist, Death itself targets Iris' bloodlines, killing them in order of lineage. When his younger sister is killed, seemingly out of order, Erik learns he is not a biological descendant of Iris, being the result of his mother's affair with another man. While attempting to help his brother Bobby nullify Death's list, Erik dies when he gets sucked into a malfunctioning magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine by a wheelchair that crushes and impales him.In developing the cast of Bloodlines, Lipovsky stated that he and Stein wished to avoid creating one-dimensional characters, instead wanting to feature ones with layers to them. The reveal about Erik's parentage came from the crew wanting to subvert audience expectations regarding the order of the characters' deaths; one discarded concept involved twins whose birth order was uncertain. Initially, Erik was envisioned as an online streamer who died while livestreaming a virtual reality game. A longtime fan of the franchise, Harmon was cast as Erik eight months after his first audition, with a delay due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Harmon helped influence many of his character's scenes and dialogue by either improvising his lines and actions or making suggestions to the production crew. From the beginning, Lipovsky and Stein hoped to feature a death scene involving an MRI machine, but were unsure where to place such a sequence in the film; they also questioned its ethical implications. In the end, they included the concept as it received a positive response from the production team.Following the release of Bloodlines, Erik became a fan favorite. Critics often singled out Harmon's performance as among the best in the film, recognizing him as a "scene stealer" and praising him for adding comic relief. Erik's fake-out death scene at his tattoo parlor and his actual death involving an MRI machine were also commended by critics, with the latter deemed the best death scene in Bloodlines. Erik's death was further analyzed for its accuracy by scientific experts. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 01:27 UTC on Saturday, 16 May 2026.For the full current version of the article, see Erik Campbell (Final Destination) on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm standard Geraint.

We really enjoyed Longlegs, so the news of a sequel reuniting Osgood Perkins and Nicolas Cage has us excited. We also cannot wait to see what the next chapter of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will be like. Maybe this will be the return to prominence the iconic franchise deserves. There was a lot of horror news to come out of CinemaCon. Two, Evil Dead movies, Clayface, Werewulf, Final Destination 7, and so much more. We discuss as much of it as possible, but one thing is clear. Horror fans have a lot to look forward to. It has been a while since we have had a musical on our show. (There is a very good reason. We aren't the biggest fans.) Gangstapuffs fixes that as his choice was 2008's Repo! The Genetic Opera. This has lots of gore and some big names, but is that enough? The answer is, not quite. It is very stylish; an argument can be made that it is ahead of its time. But there are also some choices that make for a very exhausting watch. There are fifty (!) songs in an hour and a half and the acting talents of the stronger cast members are never showcased. At least they kept Paris Hilton to a minimum. Welcome back to another daily comedy show where vacations are supposed to fix everything… but instead just give you new things to spiral about.Rizz returns from Mexico feeling refreshed, enlightened, and immediately concerned that he's officially become “Tommy Bahama Guy.” What starts as a peaceful, complaint-free getaway quickly turns into a full-blown identity crisis when he realizes the ironic resort wear is no longer ironic… it's just accurate. Add in a Frontier Airlines flight with exposed metal armrests (luxury, baby), and suddenly paradise doesn't seem so perfect.Oh—and did we mention the resort was bottomless? Yeah. Not fully nude. Just… enough to make eye contact uncomfortable.Back in St. Louis, the gang wastes no time getting back to what they do best: roasting each other, fighting trolls, and questioning society's biggest issues—like whether kids these days have style or just own 47 identical hoodies. Riz also shares his brief but spicy feud with a listener who escalated things all the way to calling the boss. Because nothing says “I'm not fragile” like tattling to management over a shorts conversation.Meanwhile, things take a turn toward the chaotic real world: Six Flags opens with an actual 100-person brawl (great start, guys), a water slide lawsuit that sounds like a Final Destination sequel, and a storm system rolling into St. Louis that has schools canceling activities and everyone questioning their life choices. It's the perfect mix of vacation stories, petty arguments, local chaos, and just enough existential dread to remind you why this daily comedy show exists—to laugh through the madness. So whether you're here for resort stories, theme park disasters, or just want to hear grown adults argue about polo shirts, welcome back. This week on The Rotten Horror Picture Show Podcast, Clay and Amanda revisit the sleek, anxiety-inducing franchise starter Final Destination (2000), the film that taught an entire generation that death doesn't need a face—just a plan. Centered on a premonition of a catastrophic plane crash and the survivors who think they've cheated fate, the movie spins a clever web of inevitability, paranoia, and elaborate, Rube Goldberg-style demises. Clay and Amanda dig into what makes the concept so enduring, how it launched a long-running series, and why everyday objects have never felt quite as trustworthy since. Now, I want to make something clear: I'm not afraid of flying. Turbulence? Fine. Takeoff? Thrilling. The idea that I might be part of some elaborate cosmic design where a loose carry-on bag leads to my doom? Manageable. What I am afraid of—what truly fills me with dread—is children on planes. You know the ones. The seat-kickers. The tray-table slammers. The ones who discover, mid-flight, that their lungs are capable of sustained, high-pitched wailing for three straight hours. You can talk about Death's grand design all you want, but try surviving a cross-country flight with a kid repeatedly asking “Are we there yet?” directly into your soul. That's the real test.So while Clay and Amanda break down the terrifying brilliance of Final Destination, I'm sitting here thinking: sure, avoiding a plane explosion is great, but what about avoiding Row 18, Seat B, next to a sugar-fueled toddler with a juice box and no concept of personal space?Still, it's a fantastic episode about a movie that redefined horror for the 2000s. Just remember—Death might be everywhere… but so are kids with sticky hands and unlimited energy. Choose your fear wisely. And be sure to fly on over to patreon.com/thepenskyfile to follow Clay and Amanda as they cover a year of sequels, including Final Destination 2!

This week we are revisiting the surprise prequel in the Final Destination franchise in its fifth entry. One of the better ones, in our opinion, as it builds upon the lore of the previous films. So join us as we discuss all the clues and continuity errors of this being a period piece. We'll also compare and contrast to some of our favorite moments and characters from the first four movies. Also, as always, we've picked out the most loathsome characters from the film, so join us at the end of the episode in voting for which one was the most deserving to die. If you would like to join our livestream recordings for The Cherry Picker, we would be thrilled to have you with us. Highly entertaining and intense, "Whistle" succeeds by blending creative, Final Destination-style deaths with a surprisingly tender portrait of anxious adolescence. The cast brings genuine heart to their roles, giving you a likable group of teens to root for amidst a solid string of gory set pieces. If your favorite horror movies are both breezy and bloody, then "Whistle" is an absolute must-watch. Such a wonderful interview as I sat down and spoke to very talented and wonderful Lanette about her role in this amazing and new supernatural horror movie about a Death Whistle. She had so much to say about her character and the movie, there's a lot of priceless information in this interview and for what she could say, I am very thrilled and honored to have had this opportunity. Having that Final Destination theme, and trying her best not to give too much away, Lanette described how she approached her character who is actively being hunted by her own impending death. I can only imagine what the atmosphere and the dynamic was like on set for her even though it was challenging to prepare herself for the intense and gory scenes. You can follow and support Lanette on Instagram and also keep up to date with her current (and possible) future projects.

This week we've got franchise-launching paranoia, turbo-charged zombie apocalypse energy, polished Biblical doom, modern prestige nightmare fuel, and a deep-cut supernatural oddity where a black hearse keeps gliding back into frame like something unfinished is still following you.   Inside this episode✅ Horror releases from Mar 16–22Mar 17, 2000 — Final DestinationThe movie that made everyday accidents feel rigged by fate: planes, power lines, bathroom cords, kitchen knives, and the awful sense that death noticed you got away with something.Where to watch: Max or YouTube TV; rent or buy on Amazon, Apple TV, Fandango At Home, Plex, and Spectrum On Demand.  Mar 19, 2004 — Dawn of the DeadZack Snyder's breakneck zombie remake turns the mall into a brightly lit coffin: panic in suburbia, brutal momentum, and fast zombies that still know how to ruin a room.Where to watch: Netflix; rent or buy on Amazon, Apple TV, and Fandango At Home.  Mar 20, 1981 — The Final ConflictSam Neill steps in as adult Damien Thorn and somehow makes the Antichrist look corporate, ambitious, and perfectly comfortable bringing end-times menace into the boardroom.Where to watch: rent or buy on Amazon, Apple TV, and Fandango At Home.  Mar 22, 2019 — UsJordan Peele's nightmare of doubles, class terror, mirrors, scissors, and subterranean dread—one of those modern horror hits that felt like an event the second it arrived.Where to watch: Hulu; rent or buy on Amazon, Apple TV, and Fandango At Home.

Final Destination 5 arrives with the same promise every installment in the franchise makes: elaborate Rube Goldberg death traps, a group of attractive but personality-free victims, and the vague hope that maybe—just maybe—this time they'll do something different with the concept. Instead, the film dutifully clocks in for another round of “Death's master plan,” delivering exactly what you expect and little else. It's the cinematic equivalent of a factory resetting itself every ninety minutes. By the fifth go-around, the plot mechanics have become painfully transparent. A premonition saves a handful of people from a spectacular disaster, they try to cheat Death, and then the universe conspires to kill them one by one using household items, loose bolts, and questionable workplace safety standards. The film acts as if it's revealing some grand mystery about Death's rules, but if you've seen even one previous entry you can practically write the script yourself. The series has settled into a rut where the only innovation is how absurdly complicated the next fatal accident can become. And even that's starting to feel tired. The elaborate death sequences still have a certain morbid creativity, but the tension is diluted by the endless fake-outs—every loose screw, dripping liquid, or falling object telegraphs a possible kill before the movie finally decides which one it wants. When the highlight of the film is watching characters stand around while the camera lingers on potential hazards, you start to realize the movie has mistaken suspense for stalling. What really sinks Final Destination 5 is the sludge of dialogue in between these moments. Characters exist solely to explain the rules or panic about them, and the performances rarely rise above that thin material. The result is a sequel that trudges through the same narrative mud the franchise has been stuck in for years. The deaths might be bigger and dumber, but by this point even those feel oddly unfulfilling—like watching the same carnival trick repeated until the novelty finally wears off.

In the canon of Final Destination imitators, Whistle is a gift. Corin Hardy's ode to teen slashers is a nifty blend of "artifact horror" and young-adult perspectives. There are many films based on the inability to cheat Death, but writer Owen Egerton finds a unique twist to keep us hooked. It's a cozy late-night programmer that fits alongside other Shudder titles like Clown in a Cornfield, one that's respectful of its audience yet focused on easy-breezy genre entertainment. Hardy keeps it simple and aims to put a smile on horror fans' faces, which is just fine in our book.

Buzz buzz buzz, and welcome back to the Yellowjackets Hive! For Emily's first livestream of 2026 that is dedicated to Yellowjackets and the upcoming final season. It only felt right to add to the recent buzz and news that's been released regarding the cast FINALLY heading back to Vancouver to start filming the final season, and some casting announcements as well. For this episode, I hope you've got your tin foil hats ready and waiting! We all still have A LOT of unanswered questions about what may end up playing out when the show returns later this year. So join me in the fun of analyzing, dissecting, and endlessly speculating about theories pertaining to the final season that are floating around the fandom. Some topics discussed: Akilah's potential fate moving forward (especially after they released news stating she has been promoted to a series regular), a possible return to the wilderness in the present day, a potential Final Destination tie-in, how things could end up playing out for both Jeff and Callie, and a whole lot more. Theorizing is one of my favorite aspects of podcasting, so this episode was a ton of fun to prepare for and discuss. There is a possibility of a follow-up/part 2 episode regarding theories about the final season. That will happen closer to when the show is back on the air, so keep your eyes peeled for an announcement about that when the time comes! It's such a treat to be chatting about the show that got me into podcasting and content creation once again. It's a little bittersweet knowing that this is the last time we'll get the chance to craft theories and figure out plot points week to week. But I'm going to make sure that we have an absolute blast the entire ride. As always, thanks so much for listening/watching :) I truly appreciate the support.ALSO- I will be covering HBO's Euphoria and MGM+'s From, which both premiere next month. Euphoria premieres April 12th, and From premieres April 19th. If you are a fan of either show I hope you'll join me for some fun discussions! AND, if you are a YJ super fan like me, watch From ASAP. It's also a mystery box type show that leaves you asking a ton of questions, just like YJ. Keep your eyes peeled regarding an announcement about when coverage for both will premiere! :)

My plane had just landed in a Midwestern city during a record breaking cold spell and the pilot welcomed us to the city with a temperature reading that made you want to divert the fight to Florida. Well, at least I had checked the weather channel and I was able to anticipate the ice age, so I had the appropriate coat, scarf, gloves and layers. As I was waiting for my suitcase in the baggage claim area, I heard someone yell, "Grab those pineapples." Excuse me? Well sure enough there were two couples just returning from Hawaii with beautiful live flowers around their necks, and they were wearing short sleeve shirts and, of course, carrying their box of pineapples. Well, when I hit the wind outside, I was cold, but I was prepared. I can't imagine what happened to the Luau bunch! When they woke up that morning they probably just said, "Well, it's warm here. I'll just dress for where I am." They were totally unprepared for where they were going! I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Dressing for Your Final Destination." Now Jesus actually told about a man who was very prepared for where he was, but totally unprepared for where he was going. Maybe like you. Luke 12:16-20, our word for today from the Word of God, Jesus told them this parable, "The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. He thought to himself, 'What shall I do, I have no place to store my crops.' Then he said, 'This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones and there I will store all my grain and my goods and I will say to myself you have many good things laid up for many years, take life easy, eat, drink and be merry.' But God said to him, 'You fool, this very night your life will be demanded from you, then who will get what you have prepared for yourself!'" Here's a man who was really dressed for where he was, he had it all, he had his earth security well planned out. But he forgot about where he would be spending most of his future - in eternity. He was totally unprepared to meet God. Someday your heart's going to beat for the last time, and in that unpredictable moment eternity will begin for you. And at that point it won't matter what your title was, or your income, or your religion, or your achievements. All that's going to matter is whether or not you have a personal love relationship with God. A relationship that can, according to the Bible, only be accessed through God's Son, Jesus Christ. Why? Because no one can make it to heaven with sin. See, God was supposed to run your life and mine, but over and over we've said, "No, I'll do it, God." The Bible says, "All of us have sinned and we've fallen short of the glory of God." In this parable, "I will" three times. That man God called a fool, he just said, "I will, I will, I will." Because of that, God is out of our reach, but we're not out of His. God says this is love, and this is the Bible speaking. "Not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins" in the most incredible act of love you'll ever hear about. The God we defied sacrificed His one and only Son to carry our death penalty for the sinning we did. And now your eternal destination, heaven or hell, depends totally on what you do with the man who died for your sin, Jesus Christ. You can reject Him, you can ignore Him, or you can reach out to Him and say, "Lord I'm not ready for eternity but I want to be. I'm facing the fact I've gone my way instead of yours over and over again. Right now I'm putting all my trust in You and Your death on that cross for me to remove the sin between God and me, and to open the door to eternal life for me. Ali Larter is here! We get into the Landman obsession — what it's like to play Angela, stepping into her most provocative role yet, and acting opposite Billy Bob Thornton, including their intense, passionate on- and off-set dynamic. We also rewind to her early career: being discovered at 14, Final Destination, Legally Blonde memories, and what the late '90s/early 2000s fame machine was really like. Ali opens up about motherhood, moving her family to Idaho, balancing ambition with kids, confidence at 49 (turning 50!), aging gracefully in Hollywood, and why she feels more powerful now than ever. This episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services.
