Tune in as the Christmas fun stays strong on 2CC! For this fourth episode of December, Karyn Raynor (Chick-Lit) is jumping back into their guest chair to unpack Black Christmas, the 2006 remake of the 1974 Christmas slasher horror movie in which a house full of sorority sisters face off against a stalker who terrorizes them with unnerving prank phone calls and a thirst for murder. The differences and similarities between this remake and its OG predecessor, the oddness of the sex tape subplot, grief for Michelle Trachtenberg, and appreciation for the campy horror of the Final Destination series emerge as a few of the talking points for this episode.Written and directed by Glen Morgan, Black Christmas (2006) stars Katie Cassidy, Kristen Cloke, Michelle Trachtenberg, Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lacey Chabert, Andrea Martin, Robert Mann, Oliver Hudson, Karin Konoval, Cainan Wiebe, Jessica Harmon, Leela Savasta, Kathleen Kole, Howard Siegel, Peter Wilds, and Juan Riedinger.Spoilers start at 29:00Create your podcast today! #madeonzencastrHere's how you can learn more about Palestine and IsraelHere's how you can keep up-to-date on this genocideHere's how you can send eSIM cards to Palestinians in order to help them stay connected onlineGood Word:• Karen: The Devil You Know with Sarah Marshall• Arthur: A Christmas StoryReach out at email2centscritic@yahoo.com if you want to recommend things to watch and read, share anecdotes, or just say hello!Be sure to subscribe, rate, and review on iTunes or any of your preferred podcasting platforms!Follow Arthur on Twitter, Goodpods, StoryGraph, Letterboxd, and TikTok: @arthur_ant18Follow Arthur on Bluesky: @arthur-ant18Follow the podcast on Twitter: @two_centscriticFollow the podcast on Instagram: @twocentscriticpodFollow Arthur on GoodreadsCheck out 2 Cents Critic Linktree
Sorry for missing last week's Bugonia episode—turns out it was 100% Gibbs' fault. Recording mishap, lost files, the usual. So naturally, we've decided to title this episode Bugonia (2025) instead, even though the actual movie we're reviewing is… Aloha (2015). Yes, that Aloha. And yes, it's every bit the joke you remember. Before diving into cinematic regret, the crew gets into AI art in video games and Larian's latest self-inflicted dumpster fire, followed by Gibbs recounting a near–Final Destination experience dodging children at a skating rink. Zea also drops in for a surprise visit, adding to the chaos. We do a quick, mercy-driven check-in on Bugonia (since we owe you one), then fully commit to diving into Aloha (2015)—a movie so bafflingly miscast and tone-deaf that it almost feels like performance art.Support us on Patreon!

Hollywood isn't finished with four different series that we've previously covered and our professionalism dictates it's time to take catch up and take care of some business. We start with the first movie released this year and possibly the number one of these films in our hearts with Final Destination: Bloodlines, released just this past May. You'll hear a lengthy conversation about this sequel's opening scene that we simply can't find a way to shut up about, how much respect we heap on the directors and Tony Todd for finding a way to give the veteran actor the perfect sendoff for the series and his life and how much glee we find in the movies refusal to let a single character off the hook from death's steely glare. Enjoy! Thanks to our monthly supporters Matt and Vicki S Kate Lampe Steve Weiss Matthew Aldrich Edward Lankford Heather Sahami

Hello. This is Morgun, the stage manager for The Stage Select. Julian told me to write the show notes for this week's episode, but I am not allowed on stage during the show, so I am not aware what they discussed. However, I would like to say that I am okay after they landed their spaceship on me. I am not sure how long I was unconscious, but Abramo told me that he didn't get around to moving the ship until three days after they landed. In this special Terrified Together collaboration with our friends Dave and Sarge from Cryptid Cocktail Party, we share two intense listener-submitted encounters that blur the line between tragedy and the paranormal. Our first story involves Levi's harrowing story from Wales, where a routine Costco trip turned into a real-life Final Destination moment when scaffolding from an unsecured truck pierced through their windshield on Junction 28. The pole sliced between Levi and their sister, leaving Levi with a gashed arm but somehow sparing both their lives in what felt like an impossible near-miss. Then, we jump into Jeanette's unsettling experience from Connecticut in 2016, when she stayed late after soccer practice and made the mistake of walking back to the practice field alone in the dark to retrieve her forgotten phone and purse. What started as an eerie feeling of being watched escalated when a young boy came running toward her in the empty parking lot, eventually asking "can I come with you?" in a way that left Jeanette deeply uncomfortable. Though she mumbled agreement while considering the "good karma" for an upcoming game, the unremarkable boy vanished the instant she turned toward her car—and that's when things got worse at home. We will all inevitably meet our maker one day. If we're lucky, we'll die peacefully surrounded by our cats and not by being smashed into a bloody jelly. But Final Destination put that fear into all of our hearts and made us afraid of the mundane. In this episode, Kelin and Leah discuss the movie franchise of Final Destination.

Another Spooky Season (ahhhhhh) has come and gone, friends and FoGgers. In the grand tradition we've developed these past few years, we offer you a coda on our Final Destination franchise run by looking back on some of our favorite thematic observations throughout the discussions, ranking each of the films in the franchise, selecting our most "Ain't Right" moments across all six films, and -- of course -- the moment you've all been waiting for: the official Mack Daddy Kills Hall of Fame for the FINAL DESTINATION franchise. The next couple of months will be rather unconventional programming as we wind down the year, including more interviews, some complete conversations, and a couple other surprises. But we will be back in January with a whole new slate of FoGgy episodes, because the Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, but not the end of the conversation. In that spirit, we encourage you to fear nothing else and be on your way rejoicing.5:15 - Reflections on FoG 20259:57 - That Ain't Right for the Final Destination franchise24:52 - Ranking the Final Destination films47:35 - Themes and Observations Across the Conversations1:08:23 - The Mack Daddy Kills Hall of Fame1:33:04 - Closing Credits and Special Thank YousSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

This week, Rob and Akiva watch and discuss Final Destination 2.
In our latest tribute, Janet, John, (and Pen) celebrate the life and career of the actor who played one of the most iconic villians in horror film history... Tony Todd! Desperately desiring to be an actor since he was a little boy, this New England native went from working at the Artisits Collective as a teen to joining the Eugene O'Neill Actors Institute to hone his acting skills. At 28, this brilliant character actor landed in New York City and in two weeks was working on stage in equity shows: playing in Shakespeare's greats or the latest new plays. He was later discovered by Oliver Stone and switched to a life of film, soon becoming a beloved member of Star-Trek and a big star from one of the scariest horror remakes ever. His amazing skills and complex character work in Candyman (1992) would take him on 30-year-old journey with 4 spectacular sequels. He is also well know for his roles in other fantastic films, video games, and shows such as Night of the Living Dead (1990), the Final Destination series (2000-2025), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Star-Trek: The Next Generation (1990-1991), The Flash (2014-2023), and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (2024). We've reached the penultimate episode of this year's spooky season franchise run. Earlier this year, the Final Destination franchise returned after a decade and a half hiatus with FINAL DESTINATION: BLOODLINES. The sixth installment expands upon the universe of the franchise in ways that add both thematic and narrative weight. It features strong characterizations, clever, inventive sequencing, and -- of course -- a lot of surprising and elaborate deaths. It also features the final on screen performance of the legendary horror icon Tony Todd, who passed away before the film was released and whose final lines in the film serve as a coda for both his career and the franchise as a whole.Unpacking all of that and more with us is a host of fun guests, including Vera Goudie, Matt Ruff, Penny Rouse, Matt Murray, Steve Beckley, and Jocee Worley. It's not only a thoughtful and occasionally heartfelt conversation about the preciousness of life, it's also a laughter-filled joy machine of a discussion party. We truly find the hope in the horrific this week and we hope you all enjoy it!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

We're almost to the end of our Spooky Season series where we examine every entry in the Final Destination franchise. The fifth installment was in many ways a reset. It started with fresh characters, tested out some new kill techniques, and even expanded the mythology of the franchise in ways the previous films hadn't. It had other surprises in store by the time it was over, which made it a remarkably invigorating conclusion (temporarily) to the franchise. Prior to this year's release of Bloodlines, FINAL DESTINATION 5 was the franchise's coda, and a pretty solid one at that. We're joined this week by pastor and friend of the show Fr Josh Bowron to dive a bit deeper into the metaphysical and theological ramifications of these elaborately conceived deaths. The result is a discussion not only littered with our usual frivolity and fun but also surprisingly contemplative and as thoughtful as we always try to be.Also featuring a Patron-only segment discussing THE SIMPSONS Treehouse of Horror XX, this is a conversation we're very proud of and one we really hope you enjoy.Patron Only Segment: The Simpsons, Treehouse of Horror XX6:43 - FINAL DESTINATION 5See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Meghan and Melisa delve into the surprising amounts of rain in LA and then take a dark turn speculating about the terrifying possibilities of the Final Destination films. They get nostalgic for the days when Disney had famous artists record their own versions of movie songs, sharing why they want that trend to make a major comeback. On a more sad note, they chat about their unexpected sadness over the news involving Diane Keaton and Maxwell, and express their mutual frustration with the rising tide of "clip farming" online. They discuss if meases mentioned in the Bible, another update on Meghan's latest injury (surprise!), and a discussion about the beauty of trees changing color. Finally, they look ahead: Meghan wants to go see T-Pain live, and Melisa shares her excitement about joining an alumnae chapter of her sorority. Learn more about your ad choices. As our spooky month of scary movie reviews rolls on, we're checking out the newest installment in the horror series that made every millennial afraid of log trucks; Final Destination. Bloodlines is serving Rube Goldberg machines of doom to the next generation, with plenty of nods to its legacy. Can death be outsmarted? Maybe. But not in the presence of an MRI machine. Ok, when we left off, Rufus threw a big “look at me” celebration… and the prevailing response appears to have been “yeah, man. We see you.” And that wasn't even the worst part of his year. The post 484 – Final Destination: The New Forest first appeared on The British History Podcast.
