Welcome dear listener to the latest episode of the 6th season of the pod. I'm Paul and I am joined by Daz, and Justin. And we are 2 for 2, as the Reds return home and collect another 2-0 win over Brentford. We will go into detail on the game, we will preview the United game and will look elsewhere at the weekend and what else is happening in the footy world. Part One - Brentford home: Similar Xg to last week:: Xg - Ipswich, 0.45 total, Liverpool 2.65. Brentford 2.65 vs 0.36 (.27 set plays) Touches in opposition box, 50 to 17 (7-7 at the half), vs 42 to 10 First Half: Brentford probably had more of the ball than we might have expected, but didn't create much - back 4 took a while to work out? Liverpool - slow, measured, controlled football. Started 4-3-3 maybe moved to 3-4-3? Great transitions - from our corners we outnumber them 13th minute, in contrast Mbuemo is chasing back Luis Diaz. 25th goal in 100 appearances. Left foot. Beautiful pass from Diogo. The goal on the break was joyous Ryan Gravenberch - the answer to the number 6 conundrum? Gravenberch the pessimist. Mac Allister a little too left in the first half. ` Second half Again, that movement and passing (especially one touch). Goals was well worked, Salah finish. Could have had goals from Diogo, Luis Diaz and Salah. In between the slow stuff, there's some great football. Game management - no shots from Brentford after 55 minutes, and we could have scored again (and maybe again). Atwell had his moments. Glad it didn't matter. Gave them impetus at the end of the first half, decided to ignore the smack in the face for Dominic Szobozslai Part Two - previewing United: Team selection - same again? Konate? United - what to expect? New signings? Formation against Brighton? Predictions Part Three - Elsewhere: (Of the EPL winners of the last 11 seasons only 1 - us - is not under investigation for breaking spending rules) Transfers: 1 week left for our transfers - Tyler Morton, Sepp van den Berg, Bobby Clark - leaving. Arrivals? Marmadashvili, Chiesa Barca….. Chelsea are back baby! We will be back next week with a review of the United game. Thanks to Justin and Daz for joining me, Paul. I've been having a lot of those days where you feel absolutely in the thick of it. I have a seven month old and a two and a half year old. Posie, the seven month old, isn't really sleeping. And I've often felt like pulling my hair out, like I'm going a little bit crazy. And then today I listened to my conversation with best friends and creatives, Annika Hanne and Bobby Clark. Something lit up inside of me. I was reminded of something important, something that I'd almost forgotten. And that is that motherhood, while it can be mundane, while it can be hard work... It really is magic. And so as I get ready to release this episode, I think it might be one of the most important conversations I have ever had on motherhood. And because of that, I don't want to over introduce it. All I want to say is that you're about to listen to something profound. We talk a lot about how these two make work, work, but we go a bit deeper than that. We talk about embracing the joy in motherhood. We talk about how, what Bobby has grown up with and what she's been exposed to informed her mothering journey. And we as listeners get to take the box seat in what is a beautiful friendship. The way these two explore mothering concepts together and how they want to live their lives is nothing short of beautiful. And it's an honour to sit and listen to the sort of conversation that you don't often hear about friendship, mothering, different fertility journeys, and all of the emotions that come with it.So without further ado, let me peel back the curtain on a conversation between two best friends on growing babies, careers, and lives together.Join us in Melbourne:Buy your ticket to Careers Night for the Mums, here.Shop the Ready or Not Go To Guides now, for $29 each or $69 for the trio:Breastfeeding and Returning to WorkChildcare 101Postpartum and Return to Work Planning---Thanks for listening to Witching Hour! In this episode of the Southern Gospel News Podcast, join hosts Daniel Britt, Darien Southerland, and Arthur Rice for a nostalgic deep dive into the legendary Southern Gospel group, The Cathedrals. Since their formation in 1963, The Cathedrals have carved a significant niche in the heart of gospel music enthusiasts with their divine harmonies and spiritual passion. Starting as the Cathedral Trio, the group initially captivated audiences as Rex Humbard's Cathedral of Tomorrow's house group. Founding members included the charismatic Glen Payne, alongside tenor Bobby Clark and baritone Danny Koker. Their transformation into the iconic quartet we revere today began with the addition of bass singer George Younce, marking the commencement of a new era in gospel music. Our hosts will guide you through The Cathedrals' pivotal decision to leave the safety of the Cathedral of Tomorrow in 1969 for the uncertain waters of full-time touring—a gamble that paid off immensely. We'll explore the transitions within the group as Koker and Clark departed, paving the way for Mack Taunton and George Amon Webster to join the ranks and further define The Cathedrals' sound and mission. With Daniel, Darien, and Arthur bringing their insider knowledge and heartfelt enthusiasm for Southern Gospel, expect intimate stories and insights into The Cathedrals' experiments with their musical and visual identity, under the progressive guidance of Canaan Records and producer Marvin Norcross. Discover how these experiments, along with strategic collaborations with figures like Florida Boys lead singer Les Beasley, propelled The Cathedrals into the spotlight on platforms like the nationally syndicated television show, Gospel Singing Jubilee. Whether you're a long-time fan or new to the soul-stirring world of The Cathedrals, this episode promises a wealth of inspiration, history, and appreciation for one of Southern Gospel music's most influential groups. Sit back, relax, and let the harmonies of history resonate with you in this special episode dedicated to celebrating The Cathedrals' enduring legacy in gospel music. Tune into the Southern Gospel News Podcast with Daniel Britt, Darien Southerland, and Arthur Rice for your weekly dose of uplifting stories, artist spotlights, and behind-the-scenes looks at the giants of Southern Gospel music.

It's February 1st - welcome to the latest edition of the pod, after the Reds reached the League Cup Final, are in the 5th round of the FA Cup and last night they overwhelmed Chelsea. I'm Paul and I am joined by Sean, Daz and Enrique. We'll look at Fulham and Norwich, do a deeper dive into the Chelsea game, look at some of the fallout from the Klopp news, and finish off looking ahead to Arsenal at the weekend. Part One: Cup glory: Fulham - 1-1 in the second leg. Lot of commentary about Fulham being too emotional to focus early on Should probably have scored another Difficult few minutes after they got an equalizer Closed the game down brilliantly with Konate and later Bobby Clark Norwich 5-2 stroll - least important game for the rest of this season (hopefully) Some nice goals - Jones, Darwin, Jota, Virgil and Gravenberch Return of TAA, Andy Robbo and Dom Why did he play James McConnell (who was very good) over Bobby Clark? 6 vs 8? Part Two: Chelsea at home (xG 2.95 vs 0.56) - first time we have beaten them at Anfield since we won the League! First half was especially compelling, especially so after watching it back and realizing they are not the Russian state backed operation they once were: Looked so lively, especially Jota and Diaz Connor Bradley is 20. Toffee TV presenter tweeted about them losing players and playing people out of position, while Liverpool lose their best player and discover the next Cafu. Mac Allister, Jones and Szobozlai - that is some midfield Darwin 37 pressures, Alexis 49 78 - Darwin creates the chance for Luis Diaz only he will create 67 to 71 looked a bit disjointed after 4 changes. BTW Nkunku finish… if Darwin has that luck, he's scoring 5. By 75 we are back making chaos They're only half a football team compared to the boys in Red: Badiashiel, Madueke, Mudryk Cole Palmer - signing of the season (apart from James Madison!) Paul Tierney!! Surprised he didn't give them at least one penalty. 3 weeks we'll be back, said the Chelsea fella in the pub, So will Mo…. They can't be this bad at Wembley, can they? Part Three - fallout, state of our season and Arsenal: Starts with VVD answering some mixed zone questions about his contract. He finished his comments (not reported in most places) with: ‘It's noise that we don't need. We just focus on getting the job done. At the end of the season, different things will happen of course but that's for the club to sort out, not for us to speak about.' And although he is speaking about the manager search. Feels like it's noise we don't need could be applied to all of these articles. James Pearce we are looking at you. 4 goals in each of the last 3 Premier League games. Feels very 1987-88. No one gets battered but almost everyone concedes 4 goals (9 times in that season, although we also beat Forest 5-0 at the end of the season). On pace again for a 90+ finish. Arsenal away: How tricky do we think this one will be? Arsenal have won both their games since we beat them in the cup (Palace and Forest) They have Jesus back, we have Szobozlai, VVD and potentially Robbo. Line up? Predictions? We will be back after the next Premier League game against Arsenal. Thanks to Sean, Enrique and Daz. And thank you dear listener for joining us. If you enjoyed the pod, please share it with a friend. The economy is the number-one issue on the minds of voters in the United States. Not surprisingly, it's also on the minds of politicians, policymakers, and policy advocates. But how do American voters think about the economy? Who do they trust to tackle economic issues? How can you talk about economic policy in terms that really speak to working people? On this edition of Achieve Great Things, we talk to Bobby Clark, who led research with more than 100,000 Americans to produce a Winning Jobs Narrative you can use to promote all kinds of economic policies and programs.
Economics is another form of storytelling—specifically, it's the story of who gets what and why. And as the rise of trickle-down and middle-out economics shows us, telling the right story at the right time can transform the economy for a generation. The same is true for politics, but simple and easy-to-understand narratives are notoriously not a strength of Democratic politicians. That's what the folks at the Winning Jobs Narrative Project are trying to fix. On this must-listen episode before the midterm elections, Bobby Clark and Melissa Morales explain why messaging matters to voters. Bobby Clark is a Communications Strategist who advises philanthropic and progressive advocacy organizations on investments in communications research, structures, and campaigns. Bobby led the team that developed the Winning Jobs Narrative. The group became a quartet with the addition of Blue Ridge Quartet bass singer George Younce in 1964. They decided to become a full-time touring group in 1969, leaving the Cathedral of Tomorrow. The group signed with Canaan Records; Canaan producer Marvin Norcross worked with them and Florida Boys lead singer Les Beasley to help the group gain exposure. Norcross gave them performance time on the nationally-syndicated television Gospel Singing Jubilee. With Canaan, the group experimented with different styles of dress and performance to find their identity.Rise to prominenceGospel singer Bill Gaither invited the group to perform at his annual Praise Gathering in Indianapolis, and they received more requests for appearances.Gaither collaborated with Younce and Payne to produce their future albums for Word Records. The group began incorporating Younce and Payne's comedy routines, and added Roy Tremble as a tenor.Kirk Talley of the Hoppers, was a tenor; Steve Lee was added to sing baritone and play piano. Shortly before 1980, the group hired Roger Bennett as their pianist after hearing him play for their opening act. Lee left the group, and former member Roger Horne filled in briefly before bass guitarist and Kingsmen baritone Mark Trammell joined the group. They left Canaan (Word), and signed with Riversong (Benson).1980sKirk Talley left the group in the fall of 1983 to form the Talleys with his brother, Roger, and sister-in-law, Debra. Danny Funderburk of the Singing Americans was chosen to replace him in December of that year. This lineup remained in place for several years, until Roger Bennett left to help found Journey Records. Bennett was replaced by young, classically-trained pianist and vocalist Gerald Wolfe. With Wolfe at the piano and singing, the group contributed to Symphony of Praise a 1987 album with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. The album included "This Ole House", "Champion Of Love", "I Can See The Hand" (written by Steven Curtis Chapman), and "I've Just Started Living". During this period, the group added Trammell's bass guitar and a synthesizer to its quartet vocals.1990s: Gaither Homecoming yearsIn February 1990, Funderburk left to help form the quartet Perfect Heart. The Cathedrals hired tenor Kurt Young to replace him, but Young left the quartet after two months. Young was replaced by Ernie Haase, a young tenor from Indiana. Later that year, Trammell left to form Greater Vision with Gerald Wolfe. Scott Fowler, former lead singer of the Sound, became the quartet's baritone and bass guitarist; this was the final version of the Cathedrals. The full group (including present and former members) recorded a concert, The Cathedral Quartet: A Reunion, in 1995.Bill Gaither and the Gaither Vocal Band recorded Homecoming, a tribute to Southern gospel music, during the early 1990s. Gaither enlisted George Younce and Glen Payne for the album (which inspired the Gaither Homecoming videos), and the Cathedral Quartet was included on later videos in the series. In addition to touring and appearing in the Gaither Homecoming videos, the group appeared three times on NBC's Today show during the decade.Final years and farewell tourYounce and Payne's health began to decline; Younce had kidney failure and heart disease by 1999, and Payne was diagnosed with liver cancer. They decided to disband the group after a farewell tour, as the group's health permitted. The Gaithers and the Cathedrals recorded a live Cathedrals Farewell Celebration video on May 18, 1999, on which they were joined by the Statler Brothers, the Oak Ridge Boys, Sandi Patty, Guy Penrod, and the Gaither Vocal Band. On October 15, 1999, Glen Payne died. After the groupIn 2000, former Cathedrals Scott Fowler and Roger Bennett formed the Southern gospel group Legacy Five; Fowler was the lead singer and bass guitarist, and Bennett was the group's emcee and pianist. Haase continued a solo career he had begun and, with Gaither's help, formed The Old Friends Quartet with Younce, Jake Hess, Wesley Pritchard, and Gold City alumnus Garry Jones on piano. They recorded two albums and a concert video for the Gaither Homecoming series, but Younce and Hess's poor health brought an end to the Old Friends two years later. In 2003, Haase and Garry Jones formed the Signature Sound Quartet. After Jones and Haase developed artistic differences, Jones left. The Signature Sound became associated with Gaither and his Homecoming tour, and changed its name to Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. After leaving the Cathedrals, Mark Trammell was the original baritone of Greater Vision before leaving to join Gold City. In 2002, Trammell formed his own quartet called Mark Trammell Quartet. Gerald Wolfe sings lead with Greater Vision and Danny Funderburk has recorded solo and has been in several groups since leaving Perfect Heart. Kirk Talley had a solo career from the Talleys breakup to December 2012, when he developed vocal problems. On April 11, 2005, George Younce died.[7] On March 17, 2007, Roger Bennett died.[8] Ernie Haase & Signature Sound released A Tribute to the Cathedral Quartet in 2010, a nominee for Southern Gospel Album of the Year at the 42nd GMA Dove Awards.[9]Playlist:Artists |Song Title | Album01.
