When I first launched Unboxing Events, I was invincible. I took action and put things together that were amazing! It wasn't until my head got too big for my shoulders that I started making mistakes. Ultimately, I spent about 100k in 6 months starting a business, that never got traction. This is that story, and what I learned from that journey of launching a business!

The importance of tying your story to the outcome you want for your event is a great place to start out your planning process. Your attendees are the focus here. If you can define the process you want your attendees to experience, the journey you want them to take by attending your event, get clear on what that looks like. Start with asking your self the question "where am I taking them?", "what are the breakthroughs I want them to have?", "what challenges are they going through right now and how can I provide them solutions?". Figure out the type of solutions you are are giving to your audience and build your lineup based on the story you want unfolding for your attendees.
Are you targeting the right audience to your event registration? Are they the right kind of clients? Not all traffic is good traffic. for example I went to date with Destiny in December. I had the privilege of learning with 5000 other people that were committed to being there. They were already sold on the product and process. They had made the financial investment to receive the benefit of immersing themselves in not only the information and knowledge, but also the experience of being at a Live event. Its not about the price, but about what your audience is willing to do to receive the value. The price is one way to weed out for people who are serious about the commitment. Its one way to make sure that you have the right people who want the value you are sharing. There are various other strategies to make sure you are filling your event with the exact type of people that WANT what you are delivering. When it comes to negotiating, you can't start too early, or young! Listen in to hear the story of how I taught my kids to negotiate what breakfast I made. If you pay attention, life is full of opportunities to learn and teach others as well, you just have to take action!
If you don't have a clear message that you are sending people about your event, chances are that they won't even sign up! Part of putting on a life changing event is making sure that you get the right people in the room. That requires focus and a clear understanding of what you are offering to your attendees. This is not something that you can just randomly throw at the wall and hope something works. It all starts with your offer, what are you going to help people with. After you have an offer in mind, the next thing to do is make sure the title lines up with the offer. If it doesn't, people won't be in the right mindset to work with you. At Traffic Secrets, I learned that before you figure out the how, you need to focus on just making the decision to jump. That is what I decided to do, focus instead of on the how I would do something, just figure out the decision. Once I made the decision, I could focus on the HOW!
In July 2018, My wife, my parents, and myself all attended UPW together, and it was amazing.
