Welcome back to another episode of the “New York Sport of Mind” Podcast! Austin is out this week, so the boys have their first repeat guest… Dylan Hutchings makes his return this week to help the boys talk some sports! The Giants sadly lost their NFC East rivalry game to Dallas this week… so the season is pretty much done. Not the way the boys wanted it to end, but it is what it is and now we can look forward to the off-season and the upcoming NFL draft. The Knicks are still struggling with players entering COVID protocols, but with this, Cardiac Kemba is set to return this week and just in time. Will he be a turning point that NY needs? And what can he prove if he gets his chance to redeem himself? The boys also talk a little bit about the Yanks as deliberations continue between the MLB and MLBPA in their lockout. We hope you all have a great holiday season, and we can't wait to bring you a more episodes after the New Year!
Welcome back to another episode of the New York Sport of Mind Podcast! Our guest this week is a great friend to the show, and arguably one of our biggest fans, Dylan Hutchings. Unfortunately, Hutch is a Cowboys fans, so he's here dropping some knowledge on his Cowgirls and the world of sports in general. Speaking of the Cowboys, a BIG rivalry game this week between Dallas and the Giants in Metlife Stadium. If the Giants win this week, and lose the rest of the season, I think we all would be just fine with that. From these three fans, we all agree that this season is chalked after this upcoming matchup and now we have to take a look into the coming off-season. The rumor mill is spinning around that Russell Wilson could be coming to the big apple, but what are we willing to give up for him? The Knicks have been slipping over the last couple of weeks, but the big NBA topic of the podcast is Steph Curry breaking the all time 3 PT mark this week... unfortunately against the Knicks, but still awesome for a guy who was apparently "not going to be a star in the NBA".
Welcome back to the "New York Sport of Mind" Podcast! A pretty disappointing week in the world of New York sports... so let's get it over with. The Giants suffer a terrible setback after losing to the Dolphins 20-9. The first full week that Daniel Jones is out, and the injury bug continuing to hit the G-Mens locker room shows that the depth chart is just not there. Going into Week 14, do we call for the curtains or is there something still worth fighting for? The Knicks are on a bit of a skid right now, losing their last three games... so long story short, what do they have to do bounce back? From three Knicks fans... we don't know. The team just doesn't seem to be the same without Kemba Walker being involved. Do they try and get some trades flowing to maybe spark something going forward? Or do the boys just try and work through it and continue to compete since it's still so early in the season? The MLB is its first labor stoppage for the first time since the players strike in the 1994-95 season, so not a whole lot going on in the Bronx. Just a lot of rumors and frustrations :/ As always, thank you all so much for the continued support! It's our favorite day of the week being able to talk sports with you all Enjoy the show and remember, it's a New York Sport of Mind!
Welcome back to another episode of the "New York Sport of Mind" Podcast! The IR bug continues to hit the boys again this week as Matt takes a week of R&R, but Austin and Bruno are here and ready to dive into a mess of a week in New York sports The Giants are back on their winning ways as they took down divisional opponent Philadelphia this week 13-7. Not a big win numbers wise, but a HUGE win for moral moving into the back half of the regular season. The Knicks sort of flip flopping their way around the schedule in the last few games, but overall are still producing wins and currently sit in 2nd place in the Atlantic behind Brooklyn. News coming out of the Knicks locker room this week as Kemba Walker is out of rotation for the forseable future as head coach Tom Thibodeau says "it is what's best for the team right now". And finally… WHAT ARE THE YANKEES DOING!!?? A question that fans have been asking for years, and now it's a legitimate concern. With the free-agency pool quickly dwindling down, options are starting to become scarce for the Bombers as we wait for a big time signing. Big name free-agents are getting scooped up left and right, and as of this episode, the front office hasn't made an crucial advances towards signing anybody. Cashman has to get off his horse and grab someone before all options are lost. As always, we appreciate the hell out of every single one of you, and we thank you all for tuning in to another episode of NYSM. Enjoy the show, and remember, it's a New York Sport of Mind!
We were gone for a minute.... but we're back!! Episode 10 of the "New York Sport of Mind" Podcast is here! The Giants... struggling... what else is new? Tough Week 11 loss to the Bucs comes with a player loss in Saquon Barkley (again) after aggravating his previous ankle injury. (00:00-10:24)The G-men also announce that they are parting ways with offensive coordinator Jason Garrett after a poor start to the season and only lasting less than two. The Yankees are inching closer to potentially getting some help in the off-season after losing three fairly key players in the last week in Tyler Wade, Rougned Odor and, Austin's favorite Yankee, Clint Frazier. (10:24-33-56) Now it's all a matter of figuring out what is the top priority for this off-season acquisition? Do they go with a shortstop like they've been hinting at for the last few weeks? Do they try and get some more help in the bullpen to help out Gerrit Cole? Do they try for a Matt Olsen or a back up first baseman and keep Anthony Rizzo on? The Knicks still not doing too bad... slipped down to 4th place in the Atlantic Division... (33:57-48:02)but still producing and getting wins, and also proving that they without a doubt have the best bench in all of the NBA with the likes of Immanuel Quickly, Derek Rose, and Obi Topin being an amazing 2nd team for this squad. Since it is the holiday season, the boys also give some hot takes as to their favorite Thanksgiving dishes after their Primetime Pics and New York Minute (48:03-1:08:06).... some more questionable than others (Matt, lol).We appreciate all of you bearing with us these last couple of weeks, but we are back and better than ever and ready to continue this awesome ass show with you all! We hope you all have an amazing holiday, and can't wait to get back at it next episode. And as always remember, its a New York Sport of Mind!
Bruno, Austin and Matthew appreciate every listener. Just like the the New York Giants we had to take a week off. We will be posting every Wednesday from here on out.
Welcome back to another episode of New York Sport of Mind! After a week on the IR list, Bruno has made his highly anticipated return to the NYSM stage! The Giants earned another big win against a bigger opponent in the Las Vegas Raiders, and this has become both fortunate and unfortunate theme. (00:00-23:32) The G-Men are winning of having close games against tougher opponents this season, and losing games to opponents that they should not be losing to like Washington, Dallas to name a few. Hopefully they take their bye week to really think about what the goal is for this season and next season as they set to travel to Florida to take on Tom Brady and the Bucs. The Knicks are continuing to have a dominant start to the season, as they 2-3 in the last week, including a big 113-98 win against a hurt Milwaukee Bucks team. (23:32-32:30) We see they, like the Giants, are also having huge performances against historically better teams like the Bucks and Bulls, and just not playing well against more scrubbier teams like the Magic and Cavaliers. Besides looking at the wins and losses column, the NYSM boys are pumped to see the likes of Julius Randle, Kemba Walker, and RJ Barrett have great starting stats to the season The Yankees are getting looks early on in the free agency pools, as rumors swirl around that they are top contenders for super stars like Justin Verlander, Carlos Correa, and Corey Seager. (32:30-54:40) The Bombers have also cleared some space in the clubhouse by letting go of some prospects like Bronx's own Andrew Velazquez. Also, biggest news of the week, Joey Gallo, who had a sub-par season with the Yanks, earned a Gold Glove award for his time playing right field as a Ranger.... soooo did he win as a Yank? or as a Ranger? Who knows. Thank you all again for continuing to tune in every week and support the boys here at NYSM! We're gonna keep doing this every week until it dies, and we hope it never does! Thanks again, and remember, it's a New York Sport of Mind!
Welcome back to another episode of the New York Sport of Mind Podcast! As mentioned in the title, Bruno is on the IR this week and we hope for a speedy recovery for our guy... little R&R will do ya good kid. On this weeks episode, Austin and Matt dive into the primetime Giants/Chiefs game, and what a doozy of a battle it was. (00:00-15:33) You know, you have a team that holds in their with one of the best teams in the last three seasons, and then you lose it... we're not mad but like all parents say at some point in your lives, we're disappointed. Tough loss for the G-Men heading into the half way mark of the season. On to less depressing news, the Knicks are still CRUSHING the start to their season.(15:33-24:30) Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier are still proving that they were great pick ups in the off-season, and Julius Randle continues to showing why he is undoubtedly the captain of this Knicks team, despite like Matthew L. Papso says "he went missing like he was on a milk carton" during the playoffs last season. The boys also talked about the Braves bringing home the World Series, and what the Yankees have to do to bring one home themselves. (24:30-46:43) Fact, the last two times the Braves were in a World Series, the Yankees won it that following year. Will history repeat itself in 2022? and What do the Bombers have to do to get there? As always, we appreciate every single one of you for tuning in every single week, and shout out to our listeners overseas! We have not idea how you found us... but you guys fucking ROCK! Enjoy the show and remember, it's a New York Sport of Mind!
Despite the numerous injuries effecting the Giants so far this season, they FINALLY got back to their winning ways this past week over Carolina 25-3! (2:29-18:30) Danny Dimes is still proving to be a great QB for the G-Men, but can he and the team keep this up moving forward? Being a 2-5 team and being 1.5 games back from the 2nd NFC Wild Card Spot is still not a great look, and makes us revisit the question from past weeks, "Do we keep playing to try and keep the season alive? Or do we hang it up and try for a high draft pick in 2022?" As we talked about in Episode 6, the NBA is BACK, and the Knicks are looking great out of the gate! (18:30-30:30) Knicks have opened the season with a 3-1 record and sit atop the Atlantic Division after huge wins over Philly, Orlando, and a HUGE 2 OT win to open the season against Boston! So far the off-season signings in Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier are paying off, Fournier making the highest impact of the two averaging 19.0 PPG and 32.5 minutes p/g.. Even some of the returners not named Julius Randle are having an influence on the outcomes so far, RJ Barrett averaging 12.5 PPG and Obi Toppin shooting 57% from the field. Now we've seen this early energy before in previous seasons, so we all know not to hold our breathe.... but it is fun to see and ELECTRIC MSG whenever the Knicks are winning! Finally, a moral and ethical dilemma among the boys at New York Sport of Mind... would you keep Tom Brady's (Austin's former lord and savior) 600th passing touchdown ball, or give it back for perks. A question that many have been asking themselves since Mike Evans made the unfortunate mistake of giving the ball away in their game this past week against Chicago. (30:31-41:46) As we do every week, we want to thank every single one of you for joining us week in and week out! We officially hit 300 total views across the podcast and we're thankful everyday for you all! And as always remember, it's a New York Sport of Mind!

We are on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.... just look up "New York Sport of Mind" podcast and you'll find us! We appreciate the support from everyone! Welp... the Giants took another disappointing "L" this week at the hands of the L.A. Rams 38-11, even with Daniel Jones clearing his concussion protocol from Week 5... it didn't matter. The question on everyone's mind now, is what should the Giants do.... do they try and compete the rest of the year, or do they pump the breaks and look forward to the off-season and next years draft? In a semi-surprising turn of events, the Yankees announced the week a three-year contract extension for skipper Aaron Boone. The deal puts Boone at the helm of the Bombers clubhouse through the 2025 season, with a club option in 2026. The boys talk about the decision and whether it was the right call or not, as well as what moves the Yanks should make in the off-season in order to come home with a 28th World Series Championship. THE NBA SEASON IS BACK!! The 75th season of the NBA returns this week, and the NYSM crew is PUMPED!!! The Knicks open the season against rival Boston on Wednesday, and all eyes are on the new-comers to MSG in Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier. Where will the Knicks end up this year? Can they make the playoffs with an already stacked Eastern Conference standing in their way? ARE YOU READY!!??

You can find us on Facebook at New York Sport of Mind Podcast Twitter @NYSM_Podcast and Instagram @newyorksportofmind! Week 5 of the Giants season once again brought disappointment in the form of a nasty injury bug that sidelined three of the G-Men's most lethal weapons, ultimately handing New York the 44-20 loss at Dallas . In the second quarter of Sunday's matchup with the divisional rival, star runningback Saquon Barkley hobbled off the field with a pretty nasty ankle injury that will sideline him for the next few weeks at least. In the same quarter, quarterback Daniel Jones also was sidelined after he tried crossing the goaline for a touchdown and was hit hard in the helmet, sending him off with a concussion. To add insult to injury (pun intended) wide receiver Kenny Golloday is also out with a knee injury. All in all, a great Week 5 for Giants fans every where -.-. In other more exciting news, the NYSM crew welcomes their 2nd guest of the season this week in Binghamton music genius, rapper, producer, and basketball fanatic and creator of the "Sports with Zo" blog Alonzo Brunn! With Bruno off for the week, Austin, Matt and Alonzo dive into expectations for the upcoming season which starts next week, and their overall thoughts on the league as a whole moving forward. As we all know, the Yankees season is over with the future of the team still up in the air. However, one positive thing did come from this season, after years of waiting, Yankees legend, and arguably one of the best players in the history of the franchise, Derek Jeter has finally been inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame! Austin was fortunate to be there through his work and gave a recap on one of the best days of his professional and personal life! Thank you all again so much for the support on the podcast so far, and remember it's a New York Sport of Mind!
Well... it seems we have been sucked into an alternate reality between this weeks episode and last week, as in the Giants see to be finally taking their shape after Week 4 and the Yankees season comes to an unfortunate end. In episode four of New York Sport of Mind, the Giants FINALLY enter the win column with a huge 27-21 win on the road in New Orleans. Danny Dimes lives up to his name, Saquon Barkley is gaining more yards and TDs as the season goes on, and the Giants have a lot of momentum going into their Week 5 matchup with divisional opponent Dallas. Funny we mention the Cowboys (Boooo), as you can see in the title, the boys have their FIRST GUEST of the series! Die-hard Cowgirls fan, and brother to co-host Bruno, is friend to the show Vince Saraceno! Vince gives his is thoughts on their season so far as well as the highly anticipated matchup on Sunday. I'll keep the Yankees section short and sweet, after winning 9 out of their last 12 games and securing a spot in the AL Wild Card game, the Yankees lost against the Red Sox... that's all we really need to say. Cole had a disappointing start... the bats weren't as active as they needed to be... Phil Nevin low-key screwed up. The dream is dead for the 2021 season, and all eyes are on what the boys upstairs do in this coming off-season. We are also introducing a new segment on the show, the "New York Minute", while we do pride ourselves on being a Yankees, GIants, Knicks podcast, we do know that there more sports in the Empire State then just these three's. Every week, Austin will give a short recap of the rest of the professional sports around the state. Also a friendly reminder for those who may not know, we have SOCIAL MEDIA accounts! If you have any questions that you want answered on the show, or just want to give us a follow and support the crew, you can follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram by simply searching, "New York Sport of Mind Podcast"! Hello everybody, and welcome back to the third episode of "New York Sport of Mind"! Some HUGE things have happened in the world of NY sports in the last week, so let's get to it. As the title of the episode shows, the bad news of the week is the so far abysmal season for the Giants continues as they fall to 0-3 with a buzzer-beater field goal by the Falcons. A season that was, and still sort of is still, full of hope, is starting to slip away, and it's only Week 3. But don't take our word for it., Giants all-time leading rusher Tiki Barber was in the guys hometown of Binghamton, NY this week, where he also had some choice words for his former franchise. The good news that has come out of this last week, the YANKEES ARE RAKING! After sweeping the Rangers last week in a 3-game series, the Bombers crushed their divisional rival in Boston over the weekend with another series sweep, and becoming the sole leader for the top Wild Card spot... but how long will it last. The boys take a deep dive into what worked against the Red Sox, including the magical workings of the Yanks new mascot "Bronxie". Even BIGGER news, if listening to the podcast isn't enough, we're also now on social media! You can find us on Twitter and Instagram @NYSM_podcast and @newyorksportofmind respectively. We appreciate the hell out of all of you who have turned in every week, and we can't wait to keep this going! Thank you all for tuning in, and remember, it's a New York Sport of Mind!
Welcome back to Episode Two of the "New York Sport of Mind" Podcast, we have a great one for you this week! As the title mentions the crew gets a new co-host, editor, and producer, a good friend to the show Austin Tanner! Even more big news, Matt finally gets a new mic so you can hear those silky pipes crystal clear. Week 2 of the NFL is in the books, and the boys talk about everything that they saw from around the league including what they liked and what they didn't like, especially from a rough Thursday Night game featuring our Giants, and what they hope to see moving forward. We're down to the final two weeks of the MLB regular season, so the crew takes a look at what the Yankees have to do in these final three series with division rivals Boston, Toronto and Tampa Bay. The boys also introduce a new segment on the show "Primetime Picks" where they will test the waters and each pick on a primetime game from the upcoming NFL week. Hope you enjoy, and always remember, it's a New York Sport of Mind!
The opening episode shares perspectives on the Giants, Yankees & Knicks, with bold predictions and Pick 4's for Week 2 of the NFL season, Take a listen and enjoy!
