Knicks head to TD Garden as their "consolation prize" for being eliminated in the quarter finals of the NBA In-Season Tournament and take an absolute beating from the Celtics. The trio of Julius Randle, RJ Barret and Jalen Brunson all scored 20 points in their efforts but it was not enough to over come the depth and skill of the Celtics. There was virtually no pressure applied to this Celtics team and they ran with it. The Milwaukee Bucks dismantled the Knicks in the 2nd half of their 146-122 IST Quarterfinals matchup. Mill and Joe from BKE are here for their postgame reaction and thoughts! (The last 5 minutes of audio has an echo, sorry in advanced for that!) The Bucks were led by Giannis Antetokoumpo, who scored 35 points on only 22 shots, 10 assists and 8 rebounds. Damian Lillard pitched in 28 points, going 5/7 from three with 7 assists, and Malik Beasley scored 18 points, all on 3 pointers. The Knicks kept it close for the 1st half, going into the break only down 75-72. Julius Randle made his first 9 shots in a row; he scored 41 points on 14/19 shooting and 11/12 from the free throw line. Jalen Brunson and RJ Barrett had 24 and 23 respectively. In Episode 1527, Sean Woodley is joined by Oren Weisfeld (Sportsnet, Complex, The Internet) to chat about the Toronto Raptors' 119-106 loss to the New York Knicks on Friday night despite a strong showing from Scottie Barnes (29-9-4-5-1 on 13/19 and 3/7 from three). Off the top, Sean and Oren discuss why the Knicks' overwhelming depth and noted lack of bad players was a big differentiator between the two teams on Friday, while also diving into how the Raptors' aggressive coverages on Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson left the Raptors' exposed on the back end of some pretty lifeless defensive rotations. Next, they chat about the Raptors now that they've surpassed the 20-game mark on the season and whether this group has any capacity for growth, and what they've been surprised by so far through a quarter of the season. Can the bench get better? And is there room for the Raptors' defense to regain no-doubt Top-10 status? Lastly, Sean and Oren run through the Good (Jalen Brunson being very Kyle Lowry-like, Chris Boucher), the Bad (OG plus four bench guys, wasting a great Scottie effort) and the Hmmmm (Scottie at the five, Immanuel Quickley being the guard the Raptors need) to round out the show. That was big! The Knicks picked up an important win to go 3-0 in a week before the schedule gets tough again. Last night in Toronto, the Knicks did a great job of using their mass on both ends of the floor. You got big nights from the Nova crew, but also Julius Randle, who was spectacular. The offense ran through him and he helped propel things with his gravity and ball movement from inside the arc. We also talk about a potential trade candidate and lots more. Let's get to it. Maaaaaaaaaaaan that was brutal. A horrifically lethargic first half was all but erased as Jalen Brunson improbably tied the game up at 113 with 22 seconds to go buoyed by Julius Randle's revival in the second half, life was good. We unfortunately all know what happened next. On this week's edition of the world renowned, hardly ever listened to podcast, Mike Steph discusses the following: Julius Randle has had a horrendous start to this NBA season. He's currently shooting sub 30% both from 3pt range and overall. His defense has been lackluster and it seems that there is some resentment towards Jalen Brunson rightful role as the team leader and best player. Can Randle turn it around while its still early or will he effectively tank the NY Knicks season before it actually starts. Mike Steph has his "Salty Thoughts" on this ongoing situation. Mike Steph will give his gambling recap from this weeks slate of NFL action. Was he able to continue his winning ways or did his greed get the best of him as usual? Tune in to find out. 80's pop music artists such as Billy Joel. Culture Club, Eurythmics and more are discussed as well.
On this week's jam packed edition of the world renowned, hardly ever viewed podcast, Mike Steph discusses the following: The NY Jets beat the NY Giants 13-10, in one of the worst games in recent history. The Miracle at Met-life helped "gang green" gain their 3rd consecutive victory to put them over .500 at a record of 4-3. Both teams combined for 4 for 34 on 3rd down conversions and 24 punts. It took a missed FG by Graham Gano with 26 secs remaining to give the Jets life. Zach Wilson lead the team down the field and put them in position to tie with 1 second remaining. The Jets ultimately won in OT. Sloppy game on both sides and Mike Steph has a load of "salty thoughts" on this miraculous victory. The NY Knicks kicked off their season this past week. There are some troubling signs already rearing its head. Julius Randle has had a horrendous start shooting 27percent from the field and has been underwhelming. Jalen Brunson has started off slow but Mike Steph has confidence in him bouncing back once he gets his legs back after the FIBA championships. Overreactions are on the menu. Lastly, Mike Steph actually made a profit this week with his NFL Gambling foray. He Still "bumped his head" but at least it made some coins. All that and more! Plus a discovery of "Trunk or Treat"

The New York Knicks competed hard and controlled a good chunk of the first half against the Boston Celtics. And then Jayson Tatum got hot and sans RJ Barrett the Knicks simply ran out of talent. Alex Wolfe and Gavin Schall break down the tough loss including a disappointing performance from Immanuel Quickley, Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson thriving despite little help and debating the Knicks decision to start Josh Hart. The beautiful game is alive and well at MSG. The Knicks cut and passed their way to a dominant 129-107 victory over the Charlotte Hornets in a display of ball movement rarely seen on 33rd and 7th since the 70's. Julius Randle supplemented some bull dozing finesse with quick decision making and a clear intent to make the extra pass, Jalen Brunson was electric in the first quarter, RJ Barrett continued to stroke it from three and make the right play time and again all while Point IQ played a near perfect game. Gavin Schall and Alex Wolfe team up to break down all that plus an all timer from Breen & Clyde. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Betterhelp This episode is sponsored by Betterhelp.
