A Podcast birthed from the love making between deliberation and banter. Join Otunba and one of his friends as they discuss topics surrounding the life of a growing human.
In a lot of the things I am hoping for and looking forward to, I have found myself encountering situations that make those things impossible. Those situations then cause me to have feelings of fear, worry, and doubt and in the past I have succumbed to those feeling with the things I feared eventually being my reality. I am learning now to keep my eyes fixed on the goal and have that be an antidote to the contrary feelings I have that are inspired by the contrary situations I face. With this new mindset, I have won so many battles that give me further assurance that I would win the war.
When I was struggling in college in Nigeria, my circle of close friends had very similar struggles educationally. We were also involved in the same distractions and didn't seem to have a clear plan or willingness to change the downward course of our lives for the better. Your company is a key instrument in shaping your perspective. Perspective is a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view
After school tutors (popularly known in Nigeria as "Lesson Teachers") really helped keep me accountable with fulfilling my responsibilities in school. They kept me on my toes and pushed me out of my comfort zone, which helped me maximize my potential and reap the positive benefit of very impressive grades. I use the impact they had on me to highlight some benefits of having an accountability system and how those experiences currently help me identify areas where I may need a system of accountability.
Reminiscing about my college experience in Nigeria reminds me of the amazing parents that I am blessed with. In this episode I express my appreciation to them and other parents who at every turn made a conscious effort to show their children unwavering support, especially when inconvenient.
Story time! In this episode I give some detail to some challenges I have faced academically and the lessons that I took away from them that informed changes that I made moving forward. I hope this encourages you to see that now is the best time to make the adjustments you need to make to recover from you lapses. If you have let things get too far like I did with dire consequences to show for it, be encouraged that there is a course for things to be better and brighter. It may take some more work, patience, and sacrifice, and discomfort, but it'll be worth it and you'll be glad you put in the work.
I have recently been confronted with some of my frailties and inadequacies and it's been a very humbling experience. It all came from a place of humbling myself before God and seeing myself in the place of who I really am...a man...a man that is just being helped by God. We could get so used to seeing the world through our eyes and get carried away with being the first person, and we forget that we are just another person in a vast sea of people. I found that allowing your life be put on display in a safe space helps you see yourself for who you really are and make the required adjustments, especially when it is done with someone who has your best interest at heart and is mindful that they are not above being subject to the same process.
In this episode I kick off banter on my second table and dive into the topic of vulnerability. I could say that breaking my tables has introduced me to a level of vulnerability that I had never otherwise explored and I now more than ever see the need to be vulnerable as human beings. When you are vulnerable, you give permission for self diagnosis towards improvement and it has tremendous effects on how you even relate to the people around you. Well...enjoy!
On this episode , I break the last legs of my first table. I have to say that I have enjoyed this journey of breaking my table. It's given me a lot of room for objective introspection and increasing self awareness. I am looking forward to addressing many more tables!
I get discouraged. I struggle to stay committed to the process. I fall off sometimes. In this episode I continue to break my first table, highlighting mindsets I have imbibed to produce actionable results in staying the course towards my end goal.
This episode is the beginning of an exciting and slightly nerve-wrecking journey as I take on the introspective excessive of breaking my own tables. As I explore this first table, the goal is to not just talk about my business for the sake of it, but to recognize with you or someone you may know.
In this episode, Otnba shares his thoughts on how your actions are a reflection of your passion. He urges us to reflect on where our passions lie, using our actions to confirm or deny the authenticity of what we profess the passions to be.
We often find our feelings hinged on the feelings of the people we love. Their happiness is our happiness, but we also often share their pain and frustrations. In this episode Otnba shares his thoughts on having an independent source of happiness.
In this episode I talk about why you should have a vision, why you should live by your vision, and what that does for you. This transformative episode would do one of two things for you...encourage you to get on the right (beneficial) course for your life, or remind you why the course you are on is the right (beneficial) one. You would see reason for every decision you make and have confidence that those decisions contribute to an ultimate purpose, while also building the right character within you. This episode was inspired by the teaching "Understanding the Nature and Discipline of Vision PT 1" by Dr Myles Munroe of blessed memory. Enjoy! Written by: Oluwatobiloba Ojo, Olukorede Megbope
As we exist in a world with unfettered access to information and content, there is a higher demand to be conscious of the nature and amount of content we consume. Just like when faced with an open bar, we have to respect our body's tolerance to alcohol and most importantly not feel the need to have to have a drink just because it is available for free and in limitless quantity. Writers: Oluwatobiloba Ojo, Olukorede Megbope
Don't become your problems. Don't let them be written all over your face. You're facing certain problems, but they are not you. When they become you, they've overcome you and they've won. The goal is to overcome your problems. Put on a smile, it looks good on you, and you're better looking anyway ;)
'faff about'(Phrasal verb) If you say that someone is faffing about or faffing around, you mean that they are doing things in a disorganized way and not achieving very much. Writers: Oluwatobiloba Ojo, Olukorede Megbope
Just like most of the past episodes, this one came from a place of personal introspection. In the anchor bible passage (John 9) the literal blindness of a man who was even healed by Jesus was placed in comparison with the figurative blindness of the Pharisees and religious leaders who were too blind to realize (a little pun intended lol). Owning up to your blindness comes with the necessity to not just be vulnerable but to also make some tough choices in repentance...tough choices that would be your saving grace for the future. I challenge everyone as I am challenging myself to own up to our blindness so that we can be healed and gain sight. If you don't think you are blind in any way, Jesus can help you identify areas in which you are. After all he did say he came for this very reason (John 9:39).
Otnba encourages us to strive to add value in our different spheres of life by being significant and important. He uses the example of how a manual (a book of instructions, especially for operating a machine or learning a subject) being a guide, is vital to properly assembling and operating an item/equipment. Writers: Olukorede Megbope, Oluwatobiloba Ojo.

When you considers the humanity of others in the same vein you have accepted yours, there tends to be more room for grace. It not only makes our existence much more pleasurable without strife, it promotes more efficient human growth. Let's give each other an appropriate measure of grace...especially yourself. Matthew 7:5 (KJV Version)"Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye"

In this episode, Otunba draws inspiration from a social media post and talks about the importance of watering your flowers. As important as it is for us to consciously give people their flowers while they are alive, it is also as important for the recipient to tend to those flowers efficiently to promote healthy organic growth. To who'm it may concern, This episode is an open letter to those who find themselves in positions of counsel and edifying influence. As one who regularly finds himself in such a position, I have recently been challenged to introspectively address the authenticity of the knowledge I discuss and the intentions behind them. Maybe some things aren't ready to be spoken on. Maybe some things require deeper understanding. Maybe some things are just for me.
Otunba uses an analogy of driving on the highway to explain how everyone's life journey is personal and peculiar to them. He highlights some dangers to not focusing on your journey and encourages to not let the achievements of others dictate the frailties in one's own life.
In this episode, Otunba presents some important reasons to start now. The urgency of the duty, the importance of process, and the true motives of our assignment are some of the most paramount reasons why we should get started with that project/assignment at whichever level is appropriate for where we are right now.
As humans, we are naturally inclined to procreate and form communities based on our similarities, likenesses and proximity to one another. Isolating ourselves not only leave is deficient in our natural physiological needs, but also has detrimental effects on our mental health, our perception of our situations, and our relationships. In this episode, Otunba talks about isolation from the perspective of someone who has gone through it and sometimes still finds himself in it.
Otunba highlights 3 key benefits to being kind: • It is good for your health • It promotes a sense of community and reduces isolation • It helps you see life in the right perspective
A common denominator for every unfulfilled agenda is an excuse. Excuses, which are reasons or explanations to defend or justify an action (or inaction), aren't necessarily bad things. The morality attributed to an excuse is dependent on the justifiability of the excuse. The justifiability of an excuse is also dependent on the standards(which are particularly subjective) to which the excuse is weighed on. The question to ponder on is are the excuses we give ourselves valid for you. Yes they may be understandable, but are they reason enough according to the standards you've placed on yourself.
"It's okay to not be okay." In the bid to being more conscious of our mental health, we encourage ourselves to acknowledge and feel our feelings. We recognize that realistically, we wouldn't always be happy, comfortable, or undaunted, and suppressed or neglected feelings could lead to more serious issues. One could also say that owning your feelings is an important first step to resolving the cause of the feelings. We have tremendous influence on how we go through our trying journeys. We aren't created to just experience and be subject to the happenings in our lives. Even when we've done all that's within our power to do we still have one last influence...our attitude...our spirit. "It is okay to be okay"

Otnba reacts to a Dr. Phil clip of a young man who clearly needs some help lol. He talks about the dangers of the prevalent age of social media that we are in and emphasizes the importance of having a core that grounds us and helps us navigate the world as we know it.
