A Faith-Centered Look at Natural Remedies, Discernment, and Common Sense If God designed plants to support and nourish the body, why do so many of us feel more comfortable trusting synthetic drugs than the things He created? In this episode, we gently explore that question and talk through simple, grounded ways to approach plant-based remedies without fear or overwhelm. This conversation is for Christian women who want clarity, peace, and faith-centered health wisdom — especially if you're tired of researching endlessly, second-guessing yourself, or feeling responsible for figuring everything out alone. My goal is to offer calm guidance rooted in faith, common sense, and respect for the body God created. Why Natural Remedies Can Feel So Overwhelming Many women don't avoid natural remedies because they don't care about their health. They avoid them because the information feels scattered, extreme, or contradictory. When something is unfamiliar, it can quickly feel unsafe — even when it comes from God's creation. Confusion often comes from trying to do too much at once, hearing strong opinions online, or feeling pressure to “get it right.” Plants as Part of God's Design Scripture reminds us that God is our healer, and creation reflects His wisdom. Plants have been used for nourishment, care, and support for generations. Natural remedies don't replace faith, nor do they require fear. Like anything else, they call for wisdom, discernment, and personal responsibility. A Closer Look at Commonly Used Plants In this episode, I share several plants that are often discussed in holistic health spaces and how many people use them in simple, everyday ways: Castor oil, often used externally for skin or joint support Frankincense and myrrh, historically valuable and still commonly used today Lemon balm (also called Melissa), frequently enjoyed as a calming tea Elderberry, widely known for immune support Cacao, a plant-based food many women notice supports mood and inflammation The goal isn't to do everything — it's to understand that small, thoughtful use can go a long way. How to Use Natural Remedies Wisely and Safely Natural doesn't mean careless. Wisdom still matters. Some helpful principles include: Choose reputable brands you trust Start with very small amounts Follow label instructions Be mindful of medical conditions or prescriptions If something feels unclear, it's okay to pause, pray, and seek guidance. Why Discernment Matters More Than Fear It's worth asking why we sometimes fear plants more than heavily processed foods or synthetic products. Discernment isn't about rejecting modern medicine or natural remedies. It's about understanding what we're using, why we're using it, and how it fits into a bigger picture of caring for our bodies with wisdom and humility. Episode Highlights 00:00 — Why natural remedies often feel confusing or unsafe 00:29 — When research fatigue and decision overload set in 01:19 — Castor oil and its long history of use 03:14 — Frankincense, myrrh, and their historical significance 04:13 — Lemon balm and calming plant-based teas 05:12 — Elderberry and immune-related research 06:08 — Cacao, inflammation, and mood support 07:34 — Addressing safety concerns with common sense 09:58 — Simple guidelines for using natural remedies wisely 12:26 — A personal story about learning boundaries the hard way 13:21 — Why many women stay stuck longer than they need to What I Hope You Take Away Natural remedies don't have to feel intimidating Starting small builds confidence and safety More isn't always better Discernment leads to peace, not pressure Faith-centered health decisions involve wisdom and responsibility If You're Feeling Stuck or Unsure Most women don't stay stuck because they don't care about their health. We often stay stuck because we keep carrying the same questions, uncertainty, and mental weight month after month. On today's episode, I'm joined by Jacq Gould for a grounded, honest conversation about building self trust, reconnecting with yourself, and navigating seasons where you feel stuck or disconnected. We explore what self connection really looks like in daily life, the common signs of disconnection like perfectionism, people pleasing, and overextending, and why worthiness isn't something you earn after achieving a goal—but something that's built through self trust. Jacq shares her personal journey into this work, the power of group healing, and practical tools like daily nourishment practices, collecting evidence when things work out, and knowing when it's time to redirect a goal instead of forcing it. From reframing self-talk and releasing fear-based thinking to balancing self connection through motherhood, this episode offers thoughtful insights and tangible practices to help you feel more grounded, confident, and aligned with yourself. Today, we're exploring the resilience entrepreneurs need to navigate the uncertainty we're all experiencing right now. In this episode, Eric explains that navigating uncertainty requires resilience, which is strengthened by taking action, embracing continuous learning, and serving others. He shares personal stories to illustrate that every business or career inevitably faces doubt, setbacks, and challenges. Tune in to discover how you can keep moving forward, even when everything feels unpredictable. Starting a Business Requires Action, Not Certainty When launching a business, there are no guarantees. Belief matters, but execution matters more. Progress comes from putting your head down, working consistently, and surrounding yourself with people who are honest, supportive, and willing to challenge you rather than flatter you. Complacency Growth stops the moment complacency begins. Staying slightly uncomfortable keeps you alert, curious, and engaged. Continuous effort and self-reflection are essential for staying sharp and avoiding stagnation. Crisis Exposes Character Coming close to losing everything during a significant event because of someone else's dishonesty was a hard lesson for Eric. What saved the situation wasn't luck or wishful thinking, but taking responsibility, being honest with his clients, and moving fast. Problem-Solving No major project ever goes exactly as planned. The ability to respond, adapt, and find solutions is not an exception in this industry. It is the job. Those who enjoy action under pressure are the ones who last. Economic Crises During downturns, survival depends on protecting top talent, staying visible, and actively maintaining relationships. Retreating increases risk. Engagement builds resilience even when timelines and recovery remain uncertain. Adaptation Is a Strategic Skill Every crisis requires assessing the environment, forming hypotheses, taking action, and adjusting along the way. Waiting for perfect information only prolongs uncertainty. Decisions create clarity. Learning Growth requires deliberate, consistent learning. Times like COVID revealed how little time most professionals dedicate to learning. Skill development, deep thinking, and education matter more than passive exposure to occasional industry content. Focus on What You Can Control We cannot control geopolitics, tariffs, and global instability. Action, learning, and contribution can. Progress comes from directing your energy toward improvement, simplification, and making a meaningful impact rather than speculation. Technology as a Tool for Growth, Not Fear AI and automation create uncertainty, but also opportunity. The goal is not to resist change, but to allow technology to simplify your processes, operate more effectively, and serve people better. The Three Anchors in Uncertainty Taking action, learning continuously, and helping others will create stability even when the world remains unpredictable. Those habits don't remove uncertainty, but they will make it more manageable. A Growth Mindset Changes Everything A growth mindset turns challenges into fuel rather than barriers. Stress, change, and disruption always bring opportunities for those willing to adapt and stay curious. If you're feeling stuck in life and ready for real change, this episode is for you. Many women try to reinvent themselves by setting new goals or making a new plan, but nothing really changes when they're still operating from the same identity. In this episode of Reset Your Life, Eva explores why you feel stuck in life, how identity shapes your patterns, and how becoming your future self is the key to lasting reinvention without burnout. You will learn why motivation and willpower are not enough, why the nervous system defaults to old patterns during stress, and how identity always overrides intention. This episode breaks down what future self work actually means and how to apply it in real life, not just in theory. In this episode, you'll learn: - Why you feel stuck in life even when you want change - How to become your future self - How identity keeps you repeating the same patterns - Why reinvention fails without nervous system safety - How to stop living in survival mode - How to get unstuck in life without burning out - Practical future self questions to guide decisions - How identity shifts build self-trust and emotional resilience This episode is especially helpful if you feel overwhelmed with life, emotionally drained, stuck in survival mode, or ready to start a new chapter but unsure how to move forward. If you have been thinking "I need a change" or "I feel stuck and don't know why," this conversation will help you understand what is really happening beneath the surface. Reinvention does not happen all at once. You become your future self through small, repeated choices that teach your nervous system who you are now. This episode will help you start practicing that shift today. Listen now to learn how to become your future self and get unstuck in life in a way that feels grounded, safe, and doable.
Hey friend, As part of our January 2026 Reset, I'm revisiting some of the most foundational and impactful episodes from Functional Medicine for Christian Women. This episode is one I still come back to often—because it speaks directly to the women who feel like they've tried everything and are still stuck. If you're dealing with ongoing fatigue, hormone symptoms, anxiety, inflammation, or unexplained health issues—and you keep hearing that your labs look “normal”—this conversation is for you. In this episode, I walk you through why so many women stay caught in cycles of exhaustion and imbalance, even when they're doing all the “right” things. We talk about the hidden disruptors that are often overlooked, including: Chronic inflammation Stress and nervous system overload Environmental and internal toxin load Blood sugar and metabolic imbalance More importantly, I explain how a functional health approach helps us step back, look at patterns, and start addressing root causes instead of chasing symptoms. This episode also introduces the framework I've used for years to help women move from survival mode into steadier energy, clearer thinking, and long-term health. While the structure of my work has evolved, the foundation remains the same: your body is not broken—it's responding. As you listen, I encourage you to do this one thing: Don't rush to fix. Listen for what resonates. Notice what brings relief or clarity. That awareness is often the first step toward real change. What's Next

Resilience After Abuse: What It Really Means and How to Rebuild Key Takeaways Have you ever felt so broken by your past that the idea of “resilience” feels impossible or even offensive? You're not alone. In this honest and hope-filled conversation, Leslie sits down with licensed therapist and trauma expert Tabitha Westbrook to unpack what true resilience looks like after abuse, trauma, or coercive control. They explore how healing is not about forgetting the past or slapping on a spiritual Band-Aid, but about gently—and courageously—cleaning off your front porch, one step at a time. If you're feeling numb, overwhelmed, or wondering why you're not "over it yet," this episode will ground you in truth, compassion, and practical steps to begin rebuilding—body, mind, and spirit. Key Takeaways from Today's Episode: Resilience Isn't Pretending It Didn't Happen True resilience doesn't mean denying the trauma or "getting over it." It means facing what's been dumped on your porch—the trash, the rats, the grief—and slowly beginning to clean it up. You may not have caused the mess, but you are worthy of healing and peace. “You're not responsible for the trash that was thrown on your porch—but you are responsible for whether or not you leave it there.” – Tabitha Westbrook Healing Happens One Bag at a Time You don't have to sweep the entire porch in one day. Progress might look like removing one trash bag, asking a friend for help, or simply opening the front door. Healing is a slow, strengthening process. Each step builds capacity and courage. “Even if all you do today is open the door and breathe, that's progress.” Boundaries Are Part of Resilience Setting healthy boundaries with people who have harmed you—or who continue to—is not unloving. It's wise. And sometimes, healing means evaluating whether certain relationships need to shift or even end. But estrangement isn't always the only option. “Resilience includes discernment—who gets to come to the gate, who stays on the sidewalk, and who doesn't get to be in your yard at all.” Your Body Is Not the Enemy—It's a Messenger Many women have been taught to ignore their feelings or bodily cues, especially in the church. But trauma is stored in the body, and your body can alert you to danger or truth—even when your mind can't make sense of it. Learning to listen to your body is a sacred act of healing. “Your shoulders don't have lips—but they speak through tension, pain, and nausea. Listen to what your body is trying to tell you.” Triggers Are Opportunities, Not Failures If you're still getting triggered, it doesn't mean you're failing. It means your body is showing you something that still needs tending. Healing is not linear—and it never ends this side of heaven. But each trigger is an invitation to deeper understanding and growth. “When you're triggered, it's not time to shame yourself. It's time to ask: What is this showing me? Where do I still need care and kindness?” Feeling Stuck? You're Not Alone—And You're Not Broken. If you're in a season where even opening your front door feels impossible, please know this: You don't have to do it alone. Asking for help is a holy, courageous first step. Whether it's a friend, a support group, or a therapist, reaching out can be the beginning of your transformation. Final Encouragement Sweet friend, healing doesn't mean you'll never feel pain again—it means the pain won't own you. You were made for more than just surviving. With God's help and your brave yes, you can rebuild your life, reclaim your voice, and rediscover your worth. You are not too far gone. You are not too broken. And you are not alone. You'll learn how courage, flexibility, and forward motion create clarity, why motivation isn't required for change, and how small steps can open doors you can't see yet, without needing a perfect plan.

What happens when you follow God… and still feel stuck? In today's episode, we're talking about the quiet tension many Christian women carry: the ache of being faithful, obedient, and consistent, yet feeling stalled, tired, or unsure why nothing seems to be moving. If you've shown up.If you've stayed faithful. If you've done what you know to do, and still feel stuck… This episode is for you.Rooted in Psalm 73, we explore the honesty Scripture gives us when obedience doesn't bring immediate clarity or relief. The psalmist reminds us that questioning isn't a failure of faith, it's often where deeper trust begins. We talk about:* Why faith can feel empty or stuck even when you're doing the “right” things* The tension between obedience and unmet expectations* How fatigue can be feedback, not failure* Why slow, hidden growth still matters to GodThis is a space where honesty is welcome and pretending isn't required. If your faith feels stalled today, you're not alone and you're not doing it wrong.Submit a question for “Ask Han” here: https://forms.gle/qWGxyy9M5Q5N2tMz9 SUPPORT BY WORDS: https://buymeacoffee.com/bywordsMy favorite Bible studies + devotionals - HANNAHHUGHES10 for 10% off: https://thedailygraceco.com?dt_id=300773 CONNECT:hello@thehannahhughes.comhttps://www.instagram.com/thehannahhughes
Welcome to 2026! As we kick off this brand new year, I am feeling so refreshed after a much-needed break spent sledding with my kids and reflecting on how we can show up as exactly who God called us to be. In this episode, I'm diving deep into a struggle many high-capacity women face: that "ugh" feeling of being stuck. If you feel like your momentum has stalled, I want to challenge you to consider that you aren't actually unmotivated—you might just be misaligned with the current season God has you in. We often try to force "summertime" results during a "winter" season of life, and the result is always frustration and exhaustion. I'm sharing my own journey of learning to trust God's timing, including the moments I've had to surrender successful assignments to simply be a mom. My goal for you today is to help you stop people-pleasing, let go of the "hustle," and start standing boldly in the identity the Holy Spirit has given you. In this episode, you'll discover: The Hidden Value of the "Bare" Seasons: Why feeling like "nothing is happening" is often the most productive time for your soul, and how to identify if you're currently in a period of underground growth. The Identity Shift: The simple question you can ask God today that will completely reframe your calling and release you from the fear of "missing" your purpose. The Faith to Quit: Why being "faithful" doesn't always mean staying put, and how to recognize when an old assignment has lost its life so you can move into the new thing God is springing up. The Power of the T-Chart: A practical journey to take with the Holy Spirit to identify what is actually draining your energy and how to delegate your way back to joy. Send us a textFree Gift: Click here for Masterclass Do you feel capable, motivated, and full of potential - but suddenly unsure of your direction? If clarity feels harder to access lately, this episode will help you understand why - and what to do instead of forcing yourself forward. Many of us were taught to rely on external authority for stability and direction: parents, teachers, bosses, relationships, roles, systems, and identities that told us who to be and how to succeed. But when those external structures stop working - through career changes, relationship shifts, identity transitions, or life disruptions - our system doesn't experience it as “growth.”It experiences it as instability. In this episode, we explore:Why clarity and decision-making suddenly feel blockedHow external authority shaped your sense of direction and safetyWhy losing a role, relationship, or structure can trigger overwhelmHow information overload makes decisions harder, not easierWhy pushing harder, planning more, or “fixing your mindset” backfiresThe real reason capable, action-oriented people feel stuckWhy this isn't laziness, failure, or lack of disciplineHow inner authority replaces external authority and why this matters nowWhat it actually takes to regain direction without losing yourselfThis is not motivational content. And it's not about forcing clarity or becoming someone new. It's about understanding how your system works, why the old map no longer fits, and how to rebuild direction from within - in a way that's grounded, aligned, and sustainable.
Send us a textCareer Momentum and Getting "Unstuck" Starts With How You SHOW UPCareer momentum does not come from doing more. It comes from showing up with clarity, intention, and confidence, especially at mid-career. In this opening episode of the year, I share my personal journey from classroom teacher to leadership and career coach, and the moment when being fine was no longer enough.I walk you through the experiences that shaped how I think about careers today, from turning classic game shows into engaging math lessons to leading instructional coaches across 13 middle schools. Along the way, stalled interviews, internal politics, and budget delays forced me to rethink how career decisions are really made and how influence is built at mid-career.These lessons became the foundation of my work helping mid-career professionals who feel undervalued, underutilized, or stuck despite doing everything they were told would lead to advancement. Why Mid-Career Feels Harder Than It ShouldMid-career is not a plateau. It is a dynamic and decisive phase where visibility, influence, and clarity matter more than effort alone. I share how nonprofit reorganizations left me highly valued by some leaders and invisible to others and how those moments sharpened my understanding of what truly drives career momentum. In this episode, I introduce the six strategies for showing up with intention. These strategies focus on aligning your thoughts, emotions, and actions so you can protect your professional brand, have more meaningful conversations, and make smarter career decisions in a complex job market. What You Will Learn in This EpisodeIf you are a manager or senior director balancing career growth with family and caregiving responsibilities, this episode will help you cut through the noise and regain momentum. You will learn:Why mid-career is one of the most important and misunderstood stages of your careerThe turning point that shifted me from educator to leader and coachHow to read interview signals and ask for feedback that actually mattersHow to reframe career setbacks into growth opportunitiesThe six strategies for showing up with clarity and intentionCommon challengeSupport the showReady to give your career the jumpstart it needs to whatever is next? Do you ever sit down to reflect on the past year or try to dream about the new one… and instead of feeling inspired, you just feel overwhelmed, stuck, or even hopeless? If resolution-setting feels heavy, confusing, or discouraging right now, this episode is for you. Today I want to walk you through a completely different way to prepare for a new year — one rooted in wonder, not pressure. In this episode, I share how God gave me the word “wonder” for this year — and how He wants to invite you into a year marked by hope, curiosity, faith, and expectancy instead of burnout or survival mode. This is not about setting more resolutions or trying harder. It's about shifting how you see your life. My prayer for you is that this year would not be marked by striving, pressure, or fear — but by wonder. That you would remember who God is, what He's capable of, and how deeply He cares about every area of your life. You are not stuck. God is not done. And there is so much more ahead than you can see right now. love, Brittany Ready to become a peaceful wife and Mama? Sign Up for the Pain to Peace Academy HERE. Feeling stuck can be deeply uncomfortable—and most of us assume it means something has gone wrong. That we're failing, falling behind, or doing life incorrectly. But what if feeling stuck isn't a problem to fix… but a signal worth listening to? In this episode, I explore why feeling emotionally stuck, foggy, or unmotivated is often a sign of intelligence—not failure. You'll learn how "stuckness" can be protective, how it often shows up during important transitions, and why pushing your way out of it can actually keep you stuck longer. If you've been judging yourself for not being further along, or trying to force clarity that won't come, this conversation offers a gentler, wiser way to understand what's happening—and how to work with it instead of against it.
Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like everyone needs you all the time? You're not actually stuck, you just need a way out. Alan Briggs shares 4 practical pathways to break free and lead with clarity in 2026. Happy New Year—and welcome to Episode 500! When we started this podcast, it was just a wild idea. 500 episodes later, we're more convinced than ever: leadership doesn't have to cost you everything. You can lead well and live well. To kick off 2026, Alan tackles something most leaders are feeling but few are naming: leadership claustrophobia—that squeezed, stuck sensation where everyone needs you all the time and there's no way out. Here's the truth: You feel stuck. But you're not actually stuck. Alan walks through the four feelings that keep leaders trapped—overwhelmed, myopic, exhausted, and behind—and gives you a clear, practical pathway out of each one. This isn't theory. It's the same framework Alan uses with the leaders he coaches every day. If you're heading into 2026 saying "everyone needs me all the time," this episode is your reset. What You'll Learn The 4 Leadership Traps + Their Pathways Out: → Overwhelmed? You're lacking creativity. The pathway out is space—build gaps into your calendar so your brain can think again. → Myopic (stuck in the weeds)? You're lacking perspective. The pathway out is vantage—schedule a Think Day and lift above your leadership. → Exhausted? You're lacking freshness. The pathway out is recovery—Sabbath and vacation aren't luxuries, they're necessities. → Behind? You're lacking urgency. The pathway out is constraints—small deadlines create the momentum big goals never will. Key Takeaways "You feel stuck, but you are not actually stuck. You have options. You can change things." The shift from victim to designer: stop reacting and start creating pathways out. When clarity goes up, overwhelm goes down. Think Days: a quarterly rhythm to get above your leadership and solve the big problems you keep kicking down the road. Sabbath and vacation are always important, never urgent—you won't feel like you need them until you should have had them three months ago. Constraints create urgency. Without deadlines, we procrastinate. Without sub-goals, we drift. Have you ever felt completely uninspired by something you were once so excited about? In this spontaneous episode, I'm sharing an important message about the natural seasons we all experience—and why feeling "blah" might actually be pointing you toward your next level.I'm also inviting you to join the Frequency SHIFT Collective, a new membership where we tune into the natural rhythm of the cosmos through True Sidereal Human Design transits, the 64 Genius Archetypes, and the Full & New Moon cycles every month. The Message: You Have SeasonsIt's completely normal to feel excited one moment and uninspired the next. That doesn't mean you're doing the wrong thing. What if the "blah" feeling is showing you:It's time to recalibrate and pauseSomething is in the way of your zone of geniusYou're giving energy to your "zone of excellence" (things you're good at) instead of your zone of genius (things that feel effortless)My Story: Four Months of Feeling "Blah"This past summer, I felt uninspired for about four months. I even had thoughts about closing my business. But when I got honest, I realized I was overcommitted to things that felt safe and created belonging - but weren't my zone of genius.Once I let go of those things (many rooted in people-pleasing), everything shifted. I found new inspiration, aligned systems to support my mission and the spark came back. The next level of excitement always comes when we embrace the plateau instead of running from it.The Wisdom of PlateausJust like nature and the stock market—we have ups and downs. Nothing grows in a straight line. When we make rush decisions during the "down" moments, we miss the opportunity for the next uplevel. The more we can embrace the uncomfortable feelings and find safety within ourselves, the more we open to growth and expansion.Instead of panicking when you feel stuck, get curious... The plateau has a message for you. There's gold hidden in that phase. Don't resist it, lean in...Join the Frequency SHIFT CollectiveThis new membership is about shifting your frequency into pure authenticity by tuning into the rhythm of nature as we see it in the skyWhat we follow:Sun & Earth transits every 5-6 days (the "Genius Coins", my synthesis of Human Design gates and Gene Keys)New Moon & Full Moon in their actual constellations (True Sidereal)What you get:Complete 64 Genius Archetypes booklet (immediate access)Audio recordings for each transit (released every 5-6 days)2 live calls per month for deeper exploration and supportA slow, natural rhythm—no overwhelm, no catching upOver one year, we explore each Genius Coin twice (from both perspectives)The approach:Feminine, effortless manifestation (not ego-driven goal setting)Following cosmic energies to clarify what your heart truly wants and take action on itEmbracing your challenges as gateways to your geniusNo bypassing—we honor uncomfortable emotions & triggers as part of authenticityJoin the Frequency SHIFT Collective: https://analenafuchs.com/the-frequency-shift-collectiveTrust your seasons. Do you ever catch yourself saying, “I just don't feel like it”… and then making your decision based on that? I don't feel like getting up. I don't feel like exercising. I don't feel like cooking. I don't feel like reading my Bible. I don't feel like dealing with this right now. If so—same, friend. This episode came straight out of my own conviction. Recently, I heard someone casually explain why they skipped something based on how they felt, and it was like a lightbulb moment. I suddenly realized: that's me. That's what I've been wrestling with for years—trying to honor how God made my body and emotions without letting my feelings run my life. In today's conversation, we're exposing the cultural lie that says, “Just listen to your feelings.” Because yes—God created our feelings, and they matter. But they were never meant to be the leader. They're meant to be indicator lights, not our steering wheel. love, Brittany Ready to become a peaceful wife and Mama? Sign Up for the Pain to Peace Academy HERE.
