It's fantasy football championship weekend as we enter Week 16. We kick off this week talking about some macro-level takeaways from this season that we want to remember going into next year. For our Fantasy Football Mental Health Initiative, we discuss the recent news of John Mulaney and the importance of a checking in on people that mean a lot to you. As always, we dive headfirst into our DiGiorno Players of the Week and Sam and Andrew vent about how they didn't deliver for us. For the meat of our show, we hand out our end of season awards. The awards include: Rookie of the year, late-round flier that did not live up to the hype, our best and worst pre-season predictions, waiver-wire pickup of the year, best forth-year breakout, Mr. Reliable, LVP and (of course) MVP. Then, as always, we close out the episode with some start/sit questions which turns out to be Sam setting Andrew's lineups. Go kick ass in Week 16 and share your victories with us! The first week of the playoffs has come and gone. We kick off this week talking about guys we now realize we were too high or too low on coming into the playoffs, but have since changed our mind. For our Fantasy Football Mental Health Initiative, Andrew reminds us that fantasy football is just a game; we can't get too caught up in the results. Garner reminds his fellow managers in the toilet bowl to stay positive and that just one win can keep you out of last place. As always, we dive headfirst into our DiGiorno Players of the Week and Sam and Andrew vent about how they didn't deliver for us. For the meat of our show, we talk about busts. These guys under-performed in comparison to their ADP and have not given their managers the ceiling games they needed. Then, as always, we close out the episode with some start/sit questions which turns out to be Sam setting Andrew's lineups. Go kick ass in Week 15 and share your victories with us! The fantasy football playoffs are among us and we hope you're fighting for that championship. We kick off this week taking a little time to brag about each of our best fantasy football teams. For our Fantasy Football Mental Health Initiative, Andrew highlights the importance of reaching out to people who are struggling. Even if others already have or you don't know the person all that well, a little can go a long way. We flip the script and transition into our DiGiorno Players of the Week and Sam and Andrew vent about how they didn't deliver for us. For the meat of our show, we look at a handful of players who haven't been too solid lately and assign them a rating for how confident we are in starting them. Then, as always, we close out the episode with some quick but tough start/sit questions. Go kick ass in Week 14 and share your victories with us! After a sloppy Week 10, we're moving on to Week 11 and the final weeks of the regular fantasy football season. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we kick off this week taking turns giving our thanks to some players who have been good to us. As we do every week, Sam and Andrew vent about this week's DiGiorno Players of the Week and how they didn't deliver for us. Since last week we discussed why to trust the process, this week we highlight when it's important to trust the player. Listen to which players Sam and Andrew are trusting for the remainder of their season. Then, as always, we close out the episode with some quick but tough start/sit questions. It's Week 10: The fantasy football playoffs are just around the corner and the trade deadline is here. We kick off this week covering a few extra trade targets that we didn't mention previously. For our Fantasy Football Mental Health Initiative, Andrew has a simple reminder for everyone: remember to drink water. It's simple, easy and extremely beneficial to our bodies and even mental health to stay hydrated. As we do every week, Sam and Andrew vent about this week's DiGiorno Players of the Week and how they didn't deliver for us. Every fantasy manager encounters tough decisions every week and we're always here with advice. This week Sam and Andrew go deeper and break down the process and decision making involved in choosing the right players for your lineup. Then, as always, we close out the episode with some quick but tough start/sit questions. Go kick ass in Week 10 and share your victories with us! A wonky Week 8 has come and gone, so now we look on to Week 9. We kick off this week discussing the "action" (and lack of) at the NFL trade deadline. For our Fantasy Football Mental Health Initiative, Sam and Andrew remind everyone to monitor how much news and social media we consume. As we do every week, Sam and Andrew vent about this week's DiGiorno Players of the Week and how they didn't deliver for us. Now that we are officially past half way of the regular fantasy football season, we pick guys to target now who can end up winning your league for you. We're looking at guys who might not have had their best season so far but have an easy schedule ahead or have had the right pieces fall in line to be successful. As always, we close out the episode with some quick but tough start/sit questions. Go kick ass in Week 9 and share your victories with us! Please consider donating to NAMI with us to support and advocate for mental health. https://gf.me/u/ybqwd6 Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
Believe it or not, we're already entering Week 8 of the 2020 NFL season. We kick off this week with a simple question; What is your favorite Halloween candy? If you RT the PodAfterTD pinned tweet and show evidence of your donation to our NAMI fundraiser, you'll be entered to win a free month of RotoViz! As we do every week, Sam and Andrew vent about this week's DiGiorno Players of the Week and how they didn't deliver for us. With Halloween around the corner, we have a special Trick or Trend as our main segment. Sam and Andrew take turns looking at recent performances of players and determining if they are trends to follow or just tricky stats that won't hold up going forward. As always, we close out the episode with some quick but tough start/sit questions. Go kick ass in Week 8 and share your victories with us! Week 6 is completed and we're almost halfway done with the regular fantasy season. We kick off this week identifying some players that we're trying to go out and trade for. Sit back and relax as Sam and Andrew vent about this week's DiGiorno Players of the Week and how they didn't deliver for us. For the main segment of this episode, we switch things up and talk trades. Sam helps us break down what to look for in a trade and how to be as successful as possible. We kick off this week covering a couple mailbag questions: Are the Falcons the best and most realistic stack in 2020 redraft leagues? What's going on with Leonard Fournette? For our Mental Health Minute Sam brings attention to the Kevin Love interview on PMT and we emphasize how nobody has the right to determine someone else's state of mind. As we close out this off-season we decide to cover some of the recent training camps headlines that have caught our attention. We discuss the impacts for the Raiders pass catchers, the Ravens backfield, as well as the Packers backfield. Please consider donating to NAMI with us to support and advocate for mental health. https://gf.me/u/ybqwd6 Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
We kick off this week with some ADP "this or that" and choose between player pairings from similar ADP ranges. For our Mental Health Minute Sam enlightens us on the "taboo" subject of therapy and answers some questions about it. Then Sam and Andrew break down drafting a fantasy football team. They explain different strategies and how to best implement them, advise on how to follow the ADP during the draft, and give some players they're picking up in later rounds that are must haves. The episode closes with some fun questions about our favorite draft day traditions, draft day setup, and how to best get inside our friends' heads. Please consider donating to NAMI with us to support and advocate for mental health. https://gf.me/u/ybqwd6 Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
This week on Pod After Touchdown, Sam and Andrew go through a player at each position the other finds to be particularly boring, and makes the best case for drafting them. Hence, making boring players sexy! Please consider donating to NAMI with us to support and advocate for mental health. https://gf.me/u/ybqwd6 Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
We kick off this week explaining which draft position we would choose to draft from this year if we had the choice. For our Mental Health Minute we each take turns highlighting something positive going on in our lives right now. Then Sam and Andrew declare their "my guys" as we're going into the 2020 season. They each plant their flag on one player from each position (QB, RB, WR, TE) and give their reasoning for why each player is bound for success this year. Please consider donating to NAMI with us to support and advocate for mental health. https://gf.me/u/ybqwd6 Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
We kick off this week naming a player who each of us have either warmed up to or cooled off on over the past month. For our Mental Health Minute Sam highlights an article he recently tweeted about how to help someone else with depression. Then we switch gears and dive into our second mock draft for the 2020 season. Follow along as Andrew drafts from the 3rd pick, Sam has the 6th pick, and Garner makes his selections at the 10th pick. Tune in to see if Andrew gets his guy or falls victim to Sleeper ADP again, find out if Sam can find either of his late-round RBs, identify which of Garner's picks Sam (once again) refers to as "yes, I suppose that's a pick", and which of us can hold off the longest in a game of chicken when it comes to drafting TEs. For our final division preview, we are joined by special guest Justin Mandaro (@Jman_FF, CantCutList.com) to cover his Dallas Cowboys and the rest of the NFC East. We kick off the episode debating between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys for who will take the division crown. For our Mental Health Minute, Justin shares his idea of meditation and that it doesn't necessarily need to be meditation. Then we jump to our preview of the AFC North. Dak Prescott hugely outperformed his ADP last season, but is it him or Carson Wentz who has the best chance to finish as the QB1? Plus, is Daniel Jones' early-season schedule enough to avoid him at his current ADP? As we move on to RBs, we obviously discuss Miles Sanders and rehash some old arguments, while diving into the injury enigma that is Derrius Guice. Plus, we share our love for Terry McLaurin, who is set to make a major breakout in 2020! Finally, Evan Engram has been near-elite when on the field, so does that make him worth drafting in the middle rounds? Tune in to find out! Please consider donating to NAMI with us to support and advocate for mental health. https://gf.me/u/ybqwd6 Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
This episode we preview the AFC North with special guest JJ Zachariason (@LateRoundQB, FanDuel/numberFire.com) to cover his Pittsburgh Steelers. We kick off the episode making our case for who could upset the Ravens and take the AFC North crown. For our Mental Health Minute, JJ shares how he exercises, spends time with his daughter, and taking things day-by-day to maintain a healthy mental state. Then we jump to our preview of the AFC North. Lamar Jackson was the most polarizing player in football last year, but how early should we be drafting him? Plus, as his namesake suggests, we talk about some other late round QB options in the division with Mr. Late Round QB himself! As we move on to RBs, we discuss which of James Connor or Mark Ingram is most likely to be the starter all year and whether Joe Mixon has hit his ceiling. We also debate if the Steelers' passing game can bounce back after a terrible 2019 campaign. Finally, how will the Ravens passing attack split between Mark Andrews, Marquise Brown, and the rest of the receiving corps? Tune in to find out! Please consider donating to NAMI with us to support and advocate for mental health. https://gf.me/u/ybqwd6 Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
This episode we preview the AFC South with special guest Paul Lundgaard (@PauliesSleepers, CantCutList.com) to cover his Indianapolis Colts. We kick off the episode making our case for who we think will win the contested division this year. For our Mental Health Minute, Paulie shares how he values face to face conversations and they help him maintain a healthy mental state. Then we jump to our preview of the AFC South. Deshaun Watson reigns as the top QB target in the division, so we debate which of the other three we would pick up if we're waiting for a late round QB. As we transition to RBs, Paulie gives us a really good breakdown for the value of the Colts investment in Jonathan Taylor and how we can expect the Jaguars to use Leonard Fournette. We also go over the litany of WRs the Texans have and if we can expect any fantasy relevance from them or who might be worth that potential super late flyer pick. Andrew entices Paulie to compliment Jonnu Smith, but not before Paulie lets us know why we need to keep an eye out for Jack Doyle this year. Please consider donating to NAMI with us to support and advocate for mental health. https://gf.me/u/ybqwd6 Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
Today we are joined by our next esteemed guest, Mike Tagliere (@MikeTagliereNFL, FantasyPros.com), to talk about his Chicago Bears and the NFC North. We kick off the episode pondering who we think can win the division this year. For our Mental Health Minute, Mike shares how reading is important to him and helps him maintain a healthy mental state. Then we jump to our preview of the NFC North. We contemplate if Aaron Rodgers has enough left in the tank to remain an elite fantasy QB option, and if Matthew Stafford can maintain his scoring pace from last year. Mike shares some great stats and facts about David Montgomery and why he's a steal with his current ADP. Then we run through the power of the NFC North WR1s (Adams, Golladay, Robinson, Thielen) and ask which of them has the biggest bust potential in 2020. The one thing the division seems to be missing is a productive fantasy TE, but are Irv Smith or Jace Sternberger worth keeping an eye on? Please consider donating to NAMI with us to support and advocate for mental health. https://gf.me/u/ybqwd6 Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
For our preview of the NFC West we are joined by our next distinguished guest, Ben Gretch (@YardsPerGretch, @CBSSports, @FFToday), to get his input on how the division will play out. We kick off by analyzing who we think will be able to clench the division this year. For our Mental Health Minute, Ben shares how reading has helped him maintain good mental health lately. Then we jump to our preview of the NFC West. We start with the "simple" question "Russel Wilson or Kylar Murray?". Additionally, we discuss which RB from the Rams or 49ers has currently has the best value at their ADP. Ben helps us figure out who to expect as the WR1 in Seattle and in LA, and then we get his opinion on Tyler Higbee to be the tiebreaker between Sam and Andrew. Please consider donating to NAMI with us to support and advocate for mental health. https://gf.me/u/ybqwd6 Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
Our second episode this week comes with another great guest Tommy Mo (@2on1FFB, 2on1fantasysports.com), to discuss his Las Vegas Raiders and preview the AFC West. We kick off by hashing out who we think will be the top 2 teams in the division. For our Mental Health Minute, Tommy shares how he's utilizing nature and the outdoors to stay positive with everything going on. Then we dive right into our preview of the AFC West. We cover it all including who is the AFC West QB you should be drafting (besides Mahomes), is Melvin Gordon meant to be a 3-down back in Denver or will he have a reduced workload, are the Chargers' WRs currently over valued or undervalued, and just how great is Darren Waller's potential? Please consider donating to NAMI with us to support and advocate for mental health. https://gf.me/u/ybqwd6 Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
This week we welcome another guest Sam Factor (@FF_Factors, Walter Picks), to discuss his New England Patriots and preview the AFC East. We kick off speculating who we think will win the division, wondering if anyone can unseat the Patriots. For our Mental Health Minute, Sam shares how he's used his sleep routine and distractions to stay positive. Then we dive headfirst into our preview of the AFC East. We break it all down including what the Cam Newton signing for the Patriots means and whether we think Adam Gase is a good coach (spoiler: he's not). We also discuss the Buffalo backfield and if there are any tight ends worth rostering other than Mike Gesicki. Please consider donating to NAMI with us to support and advocate for mental health. https://gf.me/u/ybqwd6 Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther

We kick off speculating who we think will win the division. For our Mental Health Minute, Lauren shares things she has found to be helpful in keeping good mental health while in quarantine. Then we dive headfirst into our preview of the NFC South. We break it all down making sure to cover "Does Todd Gurley bounce back?", "Is the Jared Cook fade warranted or not?", and "Where do you stand on the Ronald Jones/Ke'Shawn Vaughn debate?" among other NFC South topics of debate. Please consider donating to NAMI with us to support and advocate for mental health. https://gf.me/u/ybqwd6 Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
We kick off this week covering the biggest NFL news right now: Cam Newton is a Patriot. We discuss where he ranks among QBs now and how this benefits or hurts other Patriot players. For our Mental Health Minute we talk about how we're going to utilize the upcoming holiday weekend to de-stress. Then we have the premiere of Garner's Gaming Corner. Garner takes over hosting and asks Sam and Andrew a series of NFL trivia questions. He tests them on all sorts of knowledge and stats ranging from Red Zone rushing success rate, to WR rushing stats, to how tall a player is. Please consider donating to NAMI with us to support and advocate for mental health. https://gf.me/u/ybqwd6 Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
We kick off this week covering some of the players that we believe will end up disappointing fantasy football managers in 2020. For our Mental Health Minute Andrew highlights a great tweet from Marquise Goodwin about not letting a brief setback ruin the rest of your day. Then Sam and Andrew take a look back at some of the situations around the league they were monitoring this offseason and how they look now. Some of the topics rehashed include Cardinals WRs, veteran QB moves and the draft stock of rookie and sophomore RBs. Please consider donating to NAMI with us to support and advocate for mental health. https://gf.me/u/ybqwd6 Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
This week is a little different for us. Instead of a normal episode format, Andrew will be reading an article written by Sam and published on FantasyPros. The article is called Point Per First Down (PPFD) Fantasy Football League Primer and it covers strategies and key stats to keep in mind to help you in your PPFD leagues, which is becoming more and more relevant in our fantasy football communities (including the #SFBX). Don't forget to check out the article for yourself to see the tables and graphs. https://www.fantasypros.com/2020/04/point-per-first-down-ppfd-fantasy-football-league-primer/ Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
We kick off this week discussing which player, who is currently being drafted in double digit rounds, we are most likely to have on several of our teams. For our Mental Health Minute Sam leads the way and talks about the mental health sick day he took last week. We also cover the stigma currently associated with taking sick days off from work for mental health reasons. After that we slide into our first mock draft of the 2020 season. Highlights include Sam being very judgemental of Garner's QB and Andrew realizing he might have inadvertently drafted from ADP, not his rankings, and missed one of his guys. Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
This week starts a little different as we acknowledge the nation wide protests and what is currently going on in our country. In place of our Mental Health Minute, we share social media posts from Patrick Mahomes and Tyler Lockett relating to the protests. Then we transition back to fantasy football with our kick off question. We discuss whether or not we are in favor of targeting an elite TE in the first 3 rounds. One last time we break into our rankings debates. Sam and Andrew throw down stats, facts and strong opinions as they take turns explaining why they have selected tight ends ranked differently. They each have one minute to make a compelling case and offer rebuttal, then Garner decides who provided the better argument for the player's ranking. Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
We kick off this week with an audible from Sam. Instead of our planned kick off question, Sam switches it up and asks how early Andrew and Garner would consider drafting Lamar Jackson. For our Mental Health Minute we highlight a recent ESPN Daily podcast episode where Mina talks to Hayden Hurst about mental health. Then we break into our quarterback rankings debates. Sam and Andrew throw down once more and take turns explaining why they have selected quarterbacks ranked differently. They each have one minute to make a compelling case and offer rebuttal, then Garner decides who provided the better argument for the player's ranking. Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
We kick off this week trying to figure out which WR we think can have a Chris Godwin-like season in 2020 (a young receiver that isn't considered WR1 but has the potential and opportunity) . For our Mental Health Minute we open up about times when we have considered quitting fantasy football. Then we transition into our wide receiver rankings debates. Once again, Sam and Andrew take turns explaining why they have certain wide receivers ranked differently. They each have one minute to make a compelling case and offer rebuttal, then Garner decides who provided the better argument for the player's ranking. Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
We kick off this week talking about which running backs we are having the hardest time ranking. Then we unveil something very special to us and announce the launch of the Fantasy Football Mental Health Initiative, a campaign to drive more awareness and funding for mental health issues. Then we transition into our running back rankings debates. Sam and Andrew take turns explaining why they have selected running backs ranked differently. They each have one minute to make a compelling case and offer rebuttal, then Garner decides who was more convincing and has the player ranked appropriately. Lastly, we answer a few questions from some of our amazing listeners. Special thanks to @AmbrosinoNFL, Ryan Radtke and @SallyIsADog for the great questions. Twitter: @PodAfterTD @SamHoppen @AndrewMackens @Garnther
We kick off this week discussing who would be our ideal veteran QB to play backup for and learn from as a rookie. Then we get into recapping the NFL draft and some of the fantasy implications coming from it such as our favorite rookie landing spots, biggest non-rookie risers and fallers, top 3 rookie RB and WR for redraft leagues, and which position battle we're most interested in following the next couple of months.
