December 5, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 59 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers as they prepare to play the Baltimore Ravens on the road on Sunday afternoon. We open this show by going over the latest regarding former Steelers CB Darius Slay, who was waived by the team this past week. We discuss him not reporting to the Buffalo Bills after they claimed him off waivers and whether he will now just go ahead and retire. We make sure to tackle a few things that Slay said about the Steelers and HC Mike Tomlin during his Thursday night podcast interview with Emmanuel Acho. Alex and I move forward in this show by looking at the Steelers' most recent transactions made and the team's Thursday injury report. We talk about the team likely not having backup T Calvin Anderson this week due to a knee injury and how it's looking like rookie CB Donte Kent won't make it back from the Reserve/Injured list this season. We also discuss the Steelers secondary seemingly being dinged up heading into Sunday's road game against the Ravens. The Ravens are dealing with several key injuries this week as well and so Alex and I recap what their Thursday report said and how there are really just three players to watch closely on Friday's report. We discuss Ravens QB Lamar Jackson likely playing through his ankle injury on Sunday. On Thursday, we once again heard from two of the Steelers' coordinators, Arthur Smith and Teryl Austin, so Alex and I recap the main talking points to come out of those media sessions. We discuss whether the team will finally start playing TE Pat Freiermuth more than TE Jonnu Smith based on what Smith had to say about the two players on Sunday. A few comments made by Austin concerning the team's defense get our attention in this show as well. Steelers S DeShon Elliott and OLB Alex Highsmith are both in the news this week for their off-the-field community activities, so we recap those items. New Steelers WR Adam Thielen talked to the media on Thursday, so we go over a few things that he had to say. We discuss the level of potential impact that Thielen might be able to make on Sunday against the Ravens and which wide receivers might lose some snaps should the newest Steeler indeed be active against the Ravens. We welcome Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Banner back to the show on Friday, and he helps us preview the Steelers-Ravens game. Shaffer has covered the Ravens for many seasons, and he certainly knows that team inside and out. We get his thoughts on several things related to the Sunday afternoon game in Baltimore and his recap of the Ravens' season to date in addition to his outlook for the team moving into Sunday. If not already doing so, make sure to follow Jonas on X/Twitter at @jonas_shaffer and make sure to read his work here: https://www.thebanner.com/author/jonas-shaffer/. After finishing with Shaffer, Alex and I provide our own preview of the Steelers-Ravens game. We break down what we are looking for out of each team on both sides of the football Sunday afternoon. Alex and I then give our picks against the spread for the remainder of the Week 14 NFL games provided by show sponsor MyBookie.ag. We also give our final score predictions for the Steelers-Ravens game. This 131-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted above and we end this episode by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Send us a textCan Aaron Rodgers BOUNCE BACK vs Lamar Jackson & Ravens Week 14 PreviewWelcome to the Steelers Realm Podcast! It's the battle for the AFC North lead! The 6-6 Steelers travel to Baltimore to take on the 6-6 Ravens in a game where the winner takes sole possession of first place. This is a defensive slugfest where the focus is entirely on turnovers and injuries.
Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. Ray said the final 5 games matter a lot in the future of Mike Tomlin, but it would take them losing almost all of them for Ray to put the percentage at like 30% of Tomlin being let go. What has better chances – Aaron Rodgers back at QB or Marcus Freeman as the new head coach? Ray isn't sure how much we see of Adam Thielen on Sunday, but doesn't think it would take all that much juggling. Ray said Roman Wilson and Ben Skowronek would see less playing time if Thielen cracks the lineup. Ray is one of the many that are curious as to why Jonnu Smith still gets more snaps than Pat Freiermuth. Poni asked Ray about the failed attempts of building the receiving corps in the last few seasons. Ray gave a little look at the injury report as of today. How bad of a signing was Darius Slay? Ray thinks it is simple for Will Howard seeing game action this season – injuries to both Rodgers and Mason Rudolph. The only caveat could be the team completely falling out of the playoff picture. Ray can't bring himself to picking the Steelers on Sunday.
Smith's Sayings – What did Arthur Smith say to the media earlier today? Steve Palazzolo from the 33rd Team joined the show. Steve isn't sure if Steelers fans should be ‘excited' about Adam Thielen, but he can do some things the Steelers haven't gotten all season in terms of simplicity. He thinks Thielen can do things underneath on pass plays that would probably help them. Steve said DK Metcalf has never been a great all-around receiver, so he always needs a complementary piece with him. Steve doesn't understand why Pat Freiermuth has been neglected in this offense. Poni asked if the Arthur Smith offense is broken, but Steve said they aren't alone. Steve thought the Darius Slay signing was a good one when it happened. Steve said Derrick Harmon has been pretty good, just dinged up this season. He thinks it's frustrating to watch a team with 3 good edge rushers not do anything very creative in their blitzes. Steve thinks the Ravens win a close game against the Steelers on Sunday. Donny Football Debrief – We heard some of the highlights of Donny's interview with former Steeler Breiden Fehoko.
Austin's Answers – What did Teryl Austin say to the media earlier today? Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. Ray said the final 5 games matter a lot in the future of Mike Tomlin, but it would take them losing almost all of them for Ray to put the percentage at like 30% of Tomlin being let go. December 3, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 58 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers making several transactions on Tuesday as they get ready to play the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. We discuss the waiving of CB Darius Slay and how the writing was on the wall for that move to happen. We also discuss Slay being waived with a non-injury settlement and what that may or may not mean. We also discuss the problems the Steelers have had when it comes to signing defensive players over the age of 30. The Steelers claimed former Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen off waivers on Tuesday so Alex and I discuss that transaction. We go over Thielen's fit on offense, how much playing time he might see, and what is addition to the 53-man roster might mean when it comes to WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who remains on the team's practice squad. We discuss the possibility of both Thielen and Valdes-Scantling playing on Sunday against the Ravens. The Steelers won't have DT Derrick Harmon (knee) on Sunday so we discuss what a big deal that might be when it comes to stopping the Ravens' rushing attack in Baltimore. We also make sure to go over the fact that CB James Pierre (concussion) and ILB Patrick Queen (glute) are starting the week off with questionable listings after both were injured in the game this past Sunday. Steelers HC Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference and Tuesday, and he certainly gave us quite a few talking points to discuss. We roll through the notable things Tomlin said on Tuesday. The outcome of the Steelers Sunday game against the Ravens has a large swing of playoff probabilities attached to both teams so Alex and I go over what ESPN has listed. We also discuss how there's a good chance that the AFC North division might be won by a team with a 9-8 record. With the All-22 tape from the Steelers' Sunday home loss to the Buffalo Bills now fully digested by us, Alex and I discuss the bad, ugly and very little good that we uncovered from that when it comes to the team's offensive, defensive, and special teams play. Should TE Jonnu Smith be sat down for Sunday's game against the Ravens? We go over some seldom-used stats related to how the Steelers' offense has performed so far this season when he is on and off the field. If Tomlin remains the head coach of the Steelers past the 2025 season, will and should the Steelers fire OC Arthur Smith and DC Teryl Austin? Alex and I make sure to address that question later in this show. This 110-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted and we wrap things up by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. BREAKING: The Steelers have waived Darius Slay. Another big-name free agent turned disaster. A $10M deal down the tubes – a very Pirates-esque move. We talked about how the fans were right on this one and it felt like the Steelers trying to tell all of us that we were wrong. More BREAKING news: The Steelers claimed Adam Thielen off waivers.

Munaf Manji and Mackenzie Rivers talk NFL Week 1 Recap and much more. Munaf Manji (0:17 – 0:59) Munaf introduced the season's first weekend recap, joined by Mackenzie Rivers to break down Sunday's action and preview Monday Night Football. Mackenzie pointed out Baltimore's recurring late-game collapses: “This is the 10th 10-point lead in the Lamar Jackson, John Harbaugh era where it didn't go as planned with the fourth quarter loss.” Despite strong stats, the Ravens again fell short. Munaf described how a 15-point lead vanished after Derrick Henry's fumble. Baltimore punted on 4th-and-2, allowing Josh Allen to hit Keon Coleman for the decisive score. Jair Alexander's tackle instead of letting a TD sealed their fate. Mackenzie noted that decision flipped the odds: “As soon as he tackled him, the live line is minus 3,000 Bills.” Ravens scored 40 but defense failed again. Lamar Jackson: 14/19, 209 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs. Derrick Henry: 18 carries, 169 yards, 2 TDs. Zay Flowers: 7 catches, 143 yards, 1 TD. Josh Allen: 394 total yards, 4 TDs, pushing his MVP odds to +350. Favorites went 11-1 Sunday; unders dominated. Mackenzie used line shifts to grade upgrades: Jaguars, Chargers, Raiders, and Packers. Munaf praised Justin Herbert's performance, Travis Etienne's 143 rushing yards, and Green Bay's defensive dominance. Teams falling: Miami — Daniel Jones looked like “Peyton Jones,” posting 272 yards, 3 total TDs vs. their broken defense. Chiefs — WR injuries (Xavier Worthy, Rashee Rice suspended) leave them thin. Giants & Panthers also slipped. Bengals downgraded slightly after Joe Burrow's 113-yard outing; Chase (26 yards) and Higgins (33) were quiet. Jaguars vs. Bengals line movement suggests value on Jacksonville. Bills heavy favorites vs. Jets. 49ers injuries: George Kittle (hamstring), Jauan Jennings (shoulder). Christian McCaffrey still posted 130 yards. Brock Purdy showed poise despite 2 INTs. Bears: New coach Ben Johnson looks to revive Chicago. Vikings: Rookie J.J. McCarthy makes his first start with Jefferson returning and Thielen rejoining. Mackenzie leaned to the under, citing Brian Flores' exotic blitz packages. Munaf backed the Bears +1.5, doubting McCarthy's readiness. Player Props: Munaf: Aaron Jones over 18.5 receiving yards, with nine straight games clearing that vs. Chicago. Mackenzie: J.J. McCarthy under passing yards, expecting a conservative plan. The hosts promoted Pregame.com with promo code “WINNING25,” praised their debut recap, and noted both started 3-0 in Survivor contests. They promised weekly updates with upgrades, downgrades, betting edges, and contest talk. ✅ Key Themes: Ravens' defense undermines elite offensive stats. Week 1 unders and favorites dominate. Chargers, Jaguars, Raiders, Packers upgraded; Dolphins, Chiefs, Bengals downgraded. Betting value: Jaguars vs. Bengals, Bears vs. Vikings under. Player props spotlight Aaron Jones and J.J. McCarthy.
