Originally aired June 2024. RotoViz Radio executive producer Colm Kelly joins host Thomas Emerick for one of the Packers-Cowboys playoff thrillers that the 2010s gave to the world. Dak Prescott's first playoff game doesn't begin well — and Tony Romo's in pads — but the rookie rallies his team back. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers finished the regular season hot yet were still considered underdogs in Dallas with the No. 1 seed hosting. This rematch from two divisional rounds prior does not disappoint. These teams just like meeting the playoffs it seems, though it depends on who you ask and in which decade. Talking further about why Telesco was fired and go over all his history as a GM. Let's goooo!! #Chargers #NFL #tomtelesco In this video, we take a look at the 11-year tenure of Tom Telesco as the general manager of the Los Angeles Chargers. Telesco was hired in 2013 and was responsible for drafting and signing some of the team's best players, such as Justin Herbert, Keenan Allen, Joey Bosa, Derwin James, and Austin Ekeler. He also made some savvy trades and free agent acquisitions, such as bringing in Chris Harris Jr., Linval Joseph, and Jared Cook. However, Telesco also had his share of misses and mistakes, such as drafting Mike Williams, Forrest Lamp, Jerry Tillery, and Kenneth Murray in the first round, failing to address the offensive line and the secondary for years, and letting go of Philip Rivers, Melvin Gordon, Hunter Henry, and Casey Hayward. He also hired and fired three head coaches in his tenure: Mike McCoy, Anthony Lynn, and Brandon Staley. We will examine the good, the bad, and the ugly of Telesco's 11 years at the helm of the Chargers, and how his decisions shaped the team's fortunes and failures. We will also discuss whether he deserved to be fired along with Staley after the team's humiliating 63-21 loss to the Raiders in Week 15 of the 2023 season. The event highlights the county's local breweries and craft beer scene with activities, giveaways, and brewery events. Patrons can enjoy music, trivia, karaoke, and even axe throwing at various breweries. The "Sippin' in the Suburbs Brewery Tour" offers a behind-the-scenes bus tour of Gwinnett County's beer scene, featuring stops at different breweries. The week aims to celebrate the local brew masters and the vibrant craft beer culture in the area. Story 3: phones Gwinnett County police are seeking to identify a man who allegedly stole 11 cell phones, including iPhones, from a T-Mobile store in Peachtree Corners. The theft occurred a couple weeks ago, where the suspect cut cords on display phones and placed them in a backpack before leaving. Similar thefts at other T-Mobile stores in Metro Atlanta may be related. Surveillance footage and stills of the suspect were recently released. He is described as a light-skinned Black male with dreadlocks, wearing a face mask, long-sleeved gray shirt, and tan shorts, carrying a black backpack. The suspect left the store in a black Lincoln SUV. Anyone with information can contact the police or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous. See pictures and read more at gwinnettdailypost.com We'll be right back Break 2: M.O.G. - Tom Wages - Obits Story 4: robot Researchers from the University of Sheffield's Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) have developed a remote control robotic vehicle with virtual reality capability that can operate in high-risk emergency environments such as humanitarian disasters and war zones. The robot, using medical telexistence (MediTel) technology, can assess a casualty's vital signs, provide pain relief injections, and stream real-time data to a remote operator. The system was developed in just nine months and has the potential to save lives by allowing medics to perform remote triage without endangering their own lives. Beneficiaries included Annandale Village, Cooper's Crew, Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett, and Women's Club of Sugarloaf Country Club Charities. The tournament director, Ashley Hamilton, expressed gratitude for the community's support in embracing the philanthropic aspect of the event. Story 6: latino As the 2024 election approaches, a group of Latino voters is becoming more undecided, posing a challenge for the Democratic Party. Latino voters, especially first-time ones, are loosening their traditional ties to Democrats, making them a potentially decisive group in the upcoming election. About a third of Latinos identify as Democrats, but Latino support for Democratic candidates dropped in the 2022 midterms, mostly due to changes in turnout among Latino Republicans. GOP efforts to gain Latino support face challenges due to recent Supreme Court decisions and the need to focus on kitchen-table issues like the economy and crime. Both parties need to invest in long-term outreach to woo Latino voters effectively. We'll be back in a moment Break 3: ESOG – Ingles 5- G.O.N. Commercial : Slappey Story 1. Fake id Gwinnett County police are searching for a woman who allegedly used a fake identity to rent a hotel room in Duluth. The incident occurred earlier this month at Studio 6 when the woman presented a fake ID at the check-in counter. A day later, a man staying at the hotel called 911 and informed the police that he was traveling with a man and the woman, who were involved in bank frauds along the eastern seaboard. The man who called 911 claimed that he did not participate in the fraud but was merely driving the individuals around and receiving payment in methamphetamine. He also informed the police that the man and the woman were homeless. The fake ID used by the woman belonged to a Colorado man who expressed his desire to prosecute her for identity fraud. The Colorado man was advised by the police to check his bank accounts for any unauthorized access. Abram criticized Fleming's approach, stating that it would replace terms like "slave" with "servant." Abram also claimed that Fleming prohibited her from involving African-American organizations, community leaders, educators, or politicians in her research. The criticism comes in the wake of the county's abandoned eminent domain effort against the Livsey family, who have owned part of The Promised Land for over a century. The donation is the largest ever made to the Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett and will support the educational experience of students and expand programs for more families in the future. The school provides classes for children with special needs, emphasizing their similarities to other children and helping them overcome disabilities. Coltman has been a long-time supporter of the school and previously donated space on race cars. The school expressed gratitude for Coltman's generosity and the lasting impact it will have on students' lives. It is time for a big, brand new episode of Downey and Martez. This week's main topic was obviously Rob Gronkowski's retirement and the guys discussed it from all angles. Trey started off by asking Len how surprised he was when the announcement came out. The conversation then went on to whether this is permanent or if Gronk could come back at some point during the season. Trey and Len also looked at what his legacy is and if he will go down as the greatest tight end to ever play in the NFL. The gents then moved onto the implications for the Buccaneers. Names like Jared Cook and Kyle Rudolph were discussed as replacements, but Trey voiced why he thinks Tampa Bay can just go into the season with what they already have. Plus Len added a potential pipe-dream replacement for Gronk. Before wrapping the show up, the guys briefly discussed the release of Bradley Pinion and Ndamukong Suh's interest in playing for the Raiders. Don't forget to subscribe to Bucs Nation on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio, or wherever else you get your podcasts. The Autumn Windbags: The Best Las Vegas Raiders Podcast Ever!
With free agency underway, the Windbags look at the Raiders (non)moves so far. With so many free agents available, who should the Raiders target? Stephon Gilmore, Allen Robinson, Darious Williams, Billy Turner, Daryl Williams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Miles Jack, Tyrann Mathieu? They discuss. They also address the philosophy of free agency moving forward. The coaching staff of Josh McDaniels and company, plus new GM Dave Ziegler, are still getting to know the roster. They need time to make the right moves. With the Las Vegas Raiders targeting other running backs in the NFL, are the Raiders looking to trade Josh Jacobs? The former #1 pick is due a ton of money coming up and Josh McDaniels doesn't usually have one back carry the majority of the load. Khalil Mack got traded from the Chicago Bears to the LA Chargers for a 5th round pick. Amari Cooper got traded from the Dallas Cowboys to the Cleveland Browns for a 2nd and 6th. This proves the Raiders won both trades from 2018. Zay Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars for all the money. Once again, Derek Carr made a wide receiver extremely wealthy. Same as Nelson Agholor last season and Jared Cook a few seasons before. 0:00 Intro 0:47 Derek Carr's Touch 2:40 Question of the Day: Who Should Be Raiders #1 Target in Free Agency? 21:51 Mistakes the Raiders MUST Avoid in Free Agency 33:23 Are the Raiders Trading Josh Jacobs? 45:16 Raiders Won Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper Trades 49:59 Zay Jones is RICH!! 1:01:10 What Up, Windbags?
