Super Bowl champion and All-Pro CB Darius Slay hangs out with legendary Super Bowl champion and All-Pro CB Richard Sherman. The guys discuss the Seattle Seahawks' big offseason roster moves as Geno Smith, DK Metcalf, Sam Darnold, Cooper Kupp, and Tyler Lockett all change jerseys; they also discuss some of the organizations' other most head scratching moves from the past decade. Slay asks about the year he thinks Sherman should have won Defensive Player of the Year, plus Richard's journey from the lowest-rated player on the Madden video game to being on the cover. Sherman explains why the importance of the NFL combine is artificially inflated, and his take on the T-step vs Bicycle step debate that was started by NFL legend Deion Sanders. And much more! Prior to this offseason, General Manager John Schneider presided over two major shakeups of the Seahawks post-Super Bowl roster. We've referred to these as a 'Hawkpocalypse' due to their significance. Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett all left in 2018. Then two franchise cornerstones in Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner left in 2022. This offseason seems to close the book on some remaining pillars of the Pete Carroll era: Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf and Geno Smith. But does this shift seem as dire as the previous two, or is it a strategy to be celebrated? Will Schneider's move to bring in Sam Darnold, Cooper Kupp and Marquez Valdes-Scantling be able to fill the holes that were created in the roster? Even if they don't, we should expect the improvements on defense will help carry the 2025 Seahawks. In the second half of the show, we talk about some dream scenarios and nightmare scenarios for the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. Could a dream interior lineman fall into the Seahawks lap, or will they move up to draft a quarterback or even stay put to take another running back? This week, a writer at the Sporting News and a Discord hacker need to 'Do Better.' Better at life honors go out to a diner in Oregon and Sam Darnold's prolific Reddit fanclub.
(00:00) The guys talk about the Red Sox's Opening Day win, Garret Crochet's start, and Rafael Devers' rough game at DH. Beetle criticizes Devers' Spring Training prep and questions why MLB scheduled games during the Sweet 16. (12:31) Zolak and Bertrand talk about Wilyer Abreu’s two-home run game, the pitching and bullpen performance, and Alex Cora's game management. They also discuss whether the Red Sox are contenders and the MLB.TV crash on Opening Day. (26:16) The guys discuss Florida beating Zo's team, Maryland, and coach Kevin Willard's move to Villanova being announced during the Sweet 16 run. McKone defends Dan Hurley again and says Willard should've kept his departure news quiet. (34:32) Zolak suggests keeping an eye on the Patriots potentially targeting Tyler Lockett. The guys discuss what Lockett would bring to the wide receiver group and the offense overall.
ow that the Seahawks appear to be done making moves, Michael-Shawn and Christopher discuss where Seattle's roster stands after free agency. Chris explains why he's optimistic for the season; Mike has questions about what Seattle's plan was for improving the roster. Mike & Chris also answer listener questions on DK expressing his feelings, Seattle potentially making a splashy trade before the draft, scheming up a better OL, John Schneider's future and more! In spite of a March Madness tournament in full swing, our focus remains on the Seahawks as recent signings, potential draft strategies, and the implications of losing key players like DK Metcalf, Geno Smith and Tyler Lockett continue to be explored. Were John Schneider's moves were part of a master plan or simply a reaction to the current state of the team? Even with a lack of offensive line moves, John Schneider has had his busiest off-season since 2011. While it's possible that he's just reacting to moves outside of his control, he discuss whether that is actually the case. Support the show Get in the Flock! On this episode of the JT Sports Podcast, JT breaks down why the Bengals don't need a top-tier defense to win a Super Bowl and why re-signing both Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase was absolutely the right move—despite critics worrying about the cap space. JT explains how Joe Burrow is elite enough to overcome defensive shortcomings, and Cincinnati is sticking to the formula that already took them to a Super Bowl. Later, JT dives into why Justin Fields left the Steelers for the Jets and why this move could finally spark his career turnaround. Plus, JT rips into the Seahawks' free agency decisions, explaining why their offense took a massive step back after trading Geno Smith, DK Metcalf, and cutting Tyler Lockett along with discussing other winners and losers from NFL Free Agency.

It's the start of the new league year for the NFL and that means free agency is officially underway. Although it feels like the Seahawks completely whiffed in losing Will Fries to the Minnesota Vikings, Josh Jones offers a potential upgrade over George Fant and Stone Forsythe - a new member of the Giants. A couple different options remain, but there are some questions surrounding the toughness and scheme fit of those two players. The Seahawks defense got a boost with the signing of DeMarcus Lawrence. His contract numbers look steep initially, but once we see the breakout by year it's likely this is going to be a team friendly deal. Marquez Valdes-Scantling joins the Seahawks wide receiver room. We discuss how he'll help to fill the void left behind by DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Support the show Get in the Flock! RUNDOWN With Geno Smith gone and no clear successor in place, Seahawks fans are left debating whether this was a necessary step forward or an avoidable mistake. The front office now holds the keys to a franchise-defining offseason, with a mountain of cap space and draft picks but no proven quarterback. Seahawks No-Table discuss the Seahawks trading Geno Smith to the Raiders and DK Metcalf to the Steelers, securing extra cap space and draft capital but creating major questions at quarterback and wide receiver. While John Schneider insists this is about building for the future, the weak free-agent market and uncertain rookie class make the path forward murky. Ray Roberts chats about a seismic Seahawks roster overhaul sparking heated debate about the team's direction. While salary cap savings and a potential rebuild make sense on paper, the uncertainty at quarterback—now with Sam Darnold in the mix—raises more questions than answers. With the offensive line still a glaring issue the next few months will determine whether this is a quick reset or a long, painful rebuild. Mariners No-Table talk Justin Turner's blunt comments about the Mariners' lack of spending echo long-standing fan frustrations, while Jerry DePoto's latest remarks do little to win back goodwill. With spring training struggles and George Kirby sidelined, concerns over early-season momentum loom large, especially in a winnable but unpredictable AL West. As the team navigates lineup questions and bullpen optimism, all eyes are on whether they can defy expectations—or confirm them.
