Hour 1 kicks off with Omar Kelly sharing a funny story about getting catfished on a dating app by someone using AI before shifting into football talk. Omar reacts to the latest Miami Dolphins moves, explaining why the release of James Daniels was the only decision that truly surprised him financially, and dives into the complicated outlook for Tua Tagovailoa, noting a post–June 1st move may be key even as the situation drags out. The show also features a conversation with Jeff Darlington. The guys discuss the Los Angeles Chargers hiring Adam Gase and Mike McDaniel, with Omar believing the offensive minds could mesh well despite McDaniel still being paid by Miami.
In hour four, Appel and Dan Day talk about whether they should just keep Tua, trade him, or release him and eat the dead cap money now. Appel is rooting for Adam Gase and Mike McDaniels to have success in Los Angeles with the Chargers.
In Hour 2, the guys talk about the futures of Kyler Murray and Tua Tagovailoa since their careers are looking questionable team wise. Plus, the guys discuss the immaculate return of Adam Gase, Lindsey Vonn's injuries, and more!!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Ben Maller talks about if he would rather have Sam Darnold or Jalen Hurts as his quarterback, Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald claiming Cooper Kupp is a lock for the Hall of Fame, Adam Gase returning to the NFL to coach with the Chargers, and more!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Tom Brady's dancing with Alix Earle and thirst traps have Gio and our callers questioning his "ick"-factor behavior, while Jerry's update follows Sam Darnold's career trip and Adam Gase's return to the NFL. We've got that Hornets-Pistons brawl, the Roommates Podcast on the Knicks winning ways, Rick Pitino's record-breaking win, and the Jets' search for a bridge quarterback.
Jerry returns with Darnold talking his NFL journey and Ocho and Shannon Sharpe touching on the Vikings getting rid of him. Adam Gase returns to the NFL with the Chargers, an NBA recap features the Hornets/Pistons brawl, and Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson talking about playing well on the Roommates Podcast. Finally, St. John's beats Xavier as Rick Pitino passes Roy Williams on the all-time wins list.
Hour 1 opens with the Heat's ugly home loss to a tanking Jazz team, leading to a broader discussion about major issues in the NBA like tanking, load management, and the overreliance on the three-point shot. The guys contrast that with the NFL's continued dominance, as the Super Bowl halftime show breaks viewership records and the league's ratings and revenue keep climbing no matter the controversy. They also touch on MLB's financial imbalance and how low-payroll teams like the Marlins face an uphill battle to compete. The hour includes news of Adam Gase joining Mike McDaniel with the Chargers and wraps with some lighthearted Valentine's Day talk as Joe and Hollywood debate how far you really have to go to get it right.
Hour 2 opens with the Heat's frustrating loss to a tanking Jazz team, sparking a broader discussion about the NBA's issues, including an underwhelming Dunk Contest, a watered-down All-Star Weekend, and a schedule that's too long but will never change because of money. The guys also give credit to the Marlins for fighting to stay competitive last season despite limited payroll flexibility. They pivot to the NFL, where Bad Bunny's halftime show broke records despite reported pushback from some owners, and talk about the Patriots taking heat for their Super Bowl loss while noting Drake Maye still had a strong season. The hour also includes news of Adam Gase joining Mike McDaniel with the Chargers and wraps with Hollywood's Headlines featuring Alix Earle/Tom Brady rumors, college sports eligibility chaos, and Jordon Hudson's headline-grabbing shirt at a UNC game.
The guys discuss former Dolphins head coach Adam Gase landing an assistant job with the Chargers, where he'll join another former Dolphins coach, Mike McDaniel, in Los Angeles. That sparks a broader conversation about the biggest issues facing other leagues, including the NBA's overreliance on the three-point shot and the growing problem of star players not suiting up every night. They also point to MLB's financial imbalance, where big-market teams can outspend smaller clubs by a wide margin, creating a difficult path to competitiveness for teams with limited payrolls
Dave, Josh, and Mario are back live talking Charger football. Los Angeles is the odds on favorite to win the AFC West, does that make sense? Plus reacting to Adam Gase joining the staff.

Big O talks Gase possibly to Chargers 020726
Sam Darnold is finally rewriting his story, but the Jets chapter still has one moment that refuses to die: “seeing ghosts.” We dive back into the WFAN archives for the original Joe & Evan reaction, how Adam Gase took the early heat, and why the soundbite became a national punchline that followed Darnold for years. Plus, the show goes fully behind the scenes as a Mike Vrabel clip turns into a studio fire drill, and we check in on the ongoing “who do you trust more” poll chaos. Finally, Cinco de Luncho shifts gears with the five must-haves for your Super Bowl table, including a dip-first philosophy and a pigs-in-a-blanket debate that gets personal.
Sam Darnold may be writing a new chapter in his career, but one Jets moment still lingers. The guys revisit the infamous “seeing ghosts” game against the Patriots, how it defined Darnold's New York tenure, and why Adam Gase initially took most of the blame. A deep dive into WFAN archive audio, how one mic'd-up moment became a national punchline, and why Jets fans still can't shake it, even as Darnold moves on.
Quick baseball free agency follows with Harrison Bader landing a two-year deal with the Giants. Then the phones light up with Giants roster-building talk, including a fan playing GM and pushing for a big move on the offensive line. A wild wrinkle comes from a caller with a meteorologist connection who says Belichick used to seek ultra-specific forecasts, which sparks more debate about how much coaches should know about incoming weather. The hour swings back to Jets pain as callers re-litigate the Sam Darnold alternate history, and it ends with a full tilt spiral: why the Jets chose Adam Gase over Mike McCarthy, why it still makes fans sick, and the only logical explanation for the Patriots always getting the breaks. Plus, a quick cameo from Jet to sign off and get a verdict on the new background.
Sam Darnold proved he has what it takes and this could have been the Jets. The Jets would have been a Super Bowl team with Darnold if they hired Mike McCarthy over Adam Gase. Hour 1.
The guys analyze what went wrong with several former Dolphins head coaches and how different leadership styles contributed to years of dysfunction. They break down why Tony Sparano connected with players, why Joe Philbin struggled to earn respect, how Adam Gase navigated the politics of the league, and how Brian Flores' approach created friction both inside and outside the building. The conversation also touches on how long-term mediocrity has worn down the Dolphins media landscape and leads to a bigger question about whether the franchise has ever truly had a clear long-term vision.
A beaten down Joe Beningo joined us in the final hour in typical Joe after a Jets loss fashion.
A punt down 20 in the 3rd quarter had Evan feeling like the Jets gave up
In hour 4 of The Drive, Zach and Phil discuss what they saw out at Broncos OTA’s today. What will the new Broncos facility look like when the renovation is done? Zach and Phil share their experience from shaking Sean Payton’s hand to Greg Penner asking Phil what he thought of today’s practice. We breakdown the Broncos running back room and the guys agree how explosive RJ Harvey looked today. We hear from Bo Nix and his thoughts on what he has done during the offseason and how in control of the offense he feels now versus last year. We wrap up the show with DenverSports.com’s Will Petersen joining the show to discuss the big picture in the AFC west and Adam Gase being out at Broncos OTA’s.
We talked about names still in the mix for Jets GM. Which NY media guys currently covering the Jets were on the beat back when Aaron Glenn was a player? There are still some interesting openings, like who's going to be the head coach in Dallas? We talked about potential defensive coordinators for the Jets, including Steve Wilks. That guy has had way too many jobs in a short amount of time. We also talked about Al getting ‘antsy' whenever he goes somewhere like a football game. He wants to get out of there. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Ben Johnson as he met the media and talked about what he's bringing to the Bears. Caleb Williams talked about the ‘fire in the eyes' of Ben Johnson. We played some of Al's old songs about Adam Gase's crazy eyes. Jalen Hurts is well aware of what Jayden Daniels is doing. Daniels was asked about being a rookie potentially leading his team to a Super Bowl. John Minko was on the call as St. John's beat Xavier. Chris Russo said, ‘I've got to get myself the old man diaper'. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer liked Melania Trump's hat. Gio doesn't like a woman in a hat. Boomer loves the hats at the Kentucky Derby. Gio wonders if going to the Masters is cool.
Hour 1 Aaron Glenn is officially the new head coach of the NY Jets. They still don't have a GM and are bringing in a few guys for a second interview. Glenn is part of the Bill Parcells coaching tree and worked with Sean Payton and was also a scout for the Jets. We also need an offensive coordinator and a quarterback. Mark Brunell could be an option for OC. Glenn is going to have to lay the hammer down the same way Parcells did. What will happen with Aaron Rodgers now? Boomer said that should be up to the head coach and nobody else. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with Ben Johnson talking about quarterbacks making the difference in games and Jerry and Boomer battling about that. The Jags fired Trent Balke. Nick Sirianni talked about playing the Commanders for the third time this season. Dan Quinn was asked about being the underdog again. The Bills and Chiefs are so similar to each other according to Boomer. Patrick Mahomes was asked if he gets favorable calls from the refs. We heard John Minko on the call as St. John's beat Xavier. Mariano Rivera is involved in a strange lawsuit that we will need more information on before commenting. In the final segment of the hour, a caller wonders how Aaron Glenn was in the locker room after the Marino spike game. Boomer said the defenders, including Glenn, did not quit on the play. Hour 2 The Titans said they will not pass on a generational talent in the draft. That person is most likely Travis Hunter and not a quarterback. That means, to Gio, that the Giants are taking Shedeur Sanders. There is no way Deion will let the Browns draft him. They can draft Cam Ward. We also talked about Pat Shurmur's time with the Giants and whether he was good or not. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Dan Campbell from Hard Knocks loving on Aaron Glenn and then Glenn's message to the team. Caleb Williams is excited to get Ben Johnson in the organization. Jayden Daniels talked about how far they've come so far this season. We heard from Mahomes and Josh Allen about the upcoming Championship game. Sal is having eye surgery and BT was sympathetic. BT's buddy did his vasectomy. Chris Russo was on Howard Stern to talk about urological issues. Mike Francesa did not like Melania Trump's hat at the inauguration. Adam Schein really loves Ben Johnson. He is not happy with the MLB Hall of Fame voters. John Minko's on the call as St. John's beat Xavier. In the final segment of the hour, a group of Chilean men were arrested for burglarizing Joe Burrow's home. He's a young guy who looks like The Rizzler. He was wearing a Bengals hat. Should the Giants get Sam Darnold? The Titans or Browns may go after him. Boomer doesn't want Darnold back here in NY with the Giants. Hour 3 We talked about names still in the mix for Jets GM. Hour 1: How many Jets coaching candidates would we react the same way Jets fans did with Gase was hired?
Ryan and Dustin react to the sudden retirement of New York Yankees radio announcer John Sterling. As fans of the team, they'll talk about what made Sterling so special and who they think should replace him in 2025. Plus, a Backstop Mendoza Line Challenge update, Nestor Cortes' pump fake pitching (and the poopy-pantsing around it), and Daniel Jones goes full Adam Gase at a news conference. Jerry is in for Boomer today so it's Gio & Jerry. The Nets have fired Jacque Vaughn so you can add him to the list of NY sports coaches that have been let go recently. We talked about the worst NY hires and came up with Adam Gase and Mickey Callaway. Gio put David Fizdale on that list as well. We could get two new football coaches and a new Yankees manager if things don't go well this upcoming season. C-Lo is here for his first update but first we talked about him co-hosting with BT yesterday, filling in for Sal. Gio said that Kevin Clancy of Barstool will be filling in for Boomer on Thursday morning. Juan Soto met the media and said it's going to be ‘electric'. Luke Voit talked about the potential of being a DH with the Mets. Anthony Rendon said baseball is a job but it's not his highest priority. Antonio Pierce thinks he has the formula to beat the Chiefs, the ‘Patrick Mahomes Rules'. Rick Pitino said he wasn't ripping anybody when he criticized his team on Sunday. In the final segment of the hour, Jason Kelce was a guest on Shaq's podcast. He told Kelce to retire and spend time with his wife and kids because he screwed up in the past. It made both Gio and Jerry sad to hear Shaq sounding so lonely. Jerry said you better have a plan when you retire or you are going to struggle. Ryan Clark put out a hype video for himself saying his deal with ESPN is over and ‘somebody gotta pay the piper'.

It made both Gio and Jerry sad to hear Shaq sounding so lonely. Jerry said you better have a plan when you retire or you are going to struggle. Ryan Clark put out a hype video for himself saying his deal with ESPN is over and ‘somebody gotta pay the piper'. Hour 2 We continued talking about Ryan Clark, whose contract is up at ESPN, and he put out a hype video for his broadcasting career. He wants to work less in his next job, but get paid more. We also wondered what recently retired NFL players would want to do a 4-hour radio show, 5 days a week like Boomer. These guys have all made way too much money in their careers. C-Lo is here for an update, but first Gio has a story about a black hole that is scaring him. Juan Soto talked about his expectations for this ‘electric' Yankees season. A caller said he's ‘a moon chaser', and is going to Mexico to see some sort of moon eclipse. He also is a micro-doser and a gynecologist. There was a brawl in the Texas A&M-Comm vs Incarnate Word basketball game. Also, Tyrese Haliburton has 2 completely different voices within the same conversation. In the final segment of the hour, a caller said his girlfriend's grandmother died and his girlfriend thought the bird was a sign from heaven. He used Jerry's line, ‘it's a bird you moron' and is now in the doghouse so to speak. Hour 3 Anthony Rendon met the media yesterday and he said that baseball isn't really a top priority to him these days now that he has a family. Does he deserve credit for his honesty? It's definitely turning the fans off since he is making a ton of money and he only plays like 50 games a year. Gio thinks a lot of athletes feel like Rendon. It's just a job and a paycheck to them. Golf analyst Amanda Balionis wasn't wearing her wedding ring at the Genesis Invitational and a lot of online speculation began. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with Juan Soto commenting on whether the Yankees have enough to win the World Series. Why is Gio so fascinated with Peter Schwartz? Chris McMonigle had a slip of the tongue and mentioned the Yankees when talking about hockey. Tiki Barber said Shaun Morash is ‘not a real Giant fan'. We also talked about how terrible Evan Roberts looks. In the final segment of the hour, Beyonce has a new song and it's country. We also talked more about Pete Alonso's upcoming free agency. Hour 4 We played a clip from Evan and Tiki where they were talking about the Matt Martin fight in the Rangers game. Gio talked about fearing guys coming to the house to date his daughter. We took calls from guys who have daughters and they talked to us about how to stay close to them as they get older. C-Lo returns for his final update of the day but first we play John Mayer's ‘Daughters'. C-Lo has audio from Juan Soto and Anthony Rizzo. Aaron Boone talked about Soto reminding him of Barry Bonds. He also commented on Gleyber Torres' mustache. Travis Kelce spent $13K on Taylor Swift for Valentine's Day. The Moment of The Day involves a moon chasing, micro-dosing gynecologist. In the final segment of the show, Gio has been catching up on Love Is Blind. One of the women claimed she looked like Meghan Fox. She doesn't, so the internet went all in on her. Evan attacked ‘fat Rangers fans'.
Add Jacque Vaughn to the long list of recent NY sports coaches to get the boot.

On this Memorial Day Monday, we pay tribute to those who served, fought and sacrificed their lives for our freedom in this country, as well as, those who participate in the sports universe as there's a lot to dissect as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck: (3:15) Is tonight's Game 7 between the Heat and Celtics the biggest in NBA history? You can argue that being the case, but this is something that in the 76 year history of the league that no one has witnessed. A team winning a series after being down 0-3. I'll get into this matchup, the psyche of the Heat, as well as, the epic ending of Game 6 as Derrick White's put back with 0.2 seconds to go pushed this series to the brink and on the precipice of making history. I'll also get into the Nuggets having to wait patiently for who their opponent will be and how not playing has thrown off their rhythm? There's also a new coach in Milwaukee as they hire Adrian Griffin to succeed Mike Budenholzer. And Phoenix has narrowed it down as to who'll patrol the sidelines next year. Will it be Doc Rivers? Nick Nurse? (25:20) The Dallas Stars are trying to take a page out of the Celtics textbook this postseason as they've cut their 0-3 deficit to 3-2 as they'll host Vegas in a Game 6. Do they have what it takes to get this to a winner take all Game 7? How big of a game is this for the Golden Knights, even with a potential final game looming on their home ice? (30:42) As baseball hits the 1/3 point of their season, I'll go through the big series over the weekend (Dodgers-Rays, Phillies-Braves, Padres-Yankees) and which teams are in the mix to make it to October. You'll be surprised how many teams I have in contention at this point in both the AL & NL. And why is there NOT a full slate of games on this Memorial Day Monday is beyond me! (46:29) The French Open has begun, as the second Grand Slam of the tennis year is here. I'll preview what may be an easy road for Novak Djokovic and a toss up on the women's side as to who'll come out of top as champions at Roland Garros. (52:35) Former Cardinals wideout, De'Andre Hopkins has been released and is now a free agent. Does he sign with Lamar Jackson, Odell Beckham Jr. and the Ravens. What would that mean for a team that's looking to pass more and run less? One time Steeler running back, Le'Veon Bell had a few things to say about him being high on marijuana before games and some not so flattering words toward former Jets coach, Adam Gase. Is this alarming news? (57:24) The Indianapolis 500 has come and gone. Your winner? Josef Newgarden wins his first ever Indy 500 in his twelfth attempt. Why didn't Boomer ask Peyton Manning about his Adam Gase recommendation. Jerry returns for an update but first a caller has a question about Boomer's underwear commercial. The Browns beat the Bengals last night in the Battle of Ohio. It was a ‘save your season' game for the Browns. Jerry has more clips from Boomer on the Manningcast. Hour 1: Boomer had a great time on the Manningcast last night for Browns/Bengals and he starts the show by recounting some of the stories. The Bengals got beat badly by the Browns and Boomer says Joe Burrow has not beaten the Browns yet. Jerry is broadcasting from home today because he is sick. Did Eddie give out yarn for Halloween? Jerry has play by play sound of the Browns beating the Bengals. We also had clips from Boomer on Manningcast. Rob Saleh says Zach Wilson is getting better and needs to keep getting better. The NFL trade deadline is today at 4pm and Rob Saleh expects Elijah Moore to still be here with the Jets. The Giants are on a bye this week and Brian Daboll talks about quality control. The Nets beat the Pacers last night but there were no more questions to Kyrie about the antisemetic film he tweeted about. Boomer wonders why the NBA isn't doing anything about it. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about the Jets QB shuffle. Mike White will now be the backup instead of Joe Flacco. So why did they play Flacco at the start of the year, but now he's not the better option? Boomer thinks something internal is going on with it. They could be putting Zach on notice by elevating Mike White. Hour 2: Gio had a lot of trick or treaters yesterday. Gio has had it with teenagers without costumes on wanting candy. With today being the NFL trade deadline, will the Giants or Jets make any moves? Jerry returns for an update but first Gio gives Boomer a Matt Martin bobblehead and Boomer somehow drops it and it breaks. The Carolina Hurricanes announcer accidentally said ‘Reese's penis butter cups'. The Browns had no trouble beating the Bengals last night 32-13. Kareem Hunt on whether he wants to be traded or not. Jerry had clips of Boomer on Manningcast last night. Tom Brady talked to Jim Gray about dealing with life while also playing football. Kyrie and Kanye are influencers and should be held accountable. Jerry returns for his last update of the day and starts with the Browns beating the Bengals. The Browns ran for 172 yards last night. Jerry has a clip of Boomer talking about his underwear commercial from back in the day. Rob Saleh talked about Zach Wilson and said he needs to keep getting better. I'm not in any way on the Baker Mayfield bandwagon, but the former New York Jets head coach Adam Gase completely destroyed Sam Darnold. Statistically, it's not even close that Baker Mayfield will be the starting QB come week 1 of the upcoming NFL season.
On the very first edition of the DOLPHINS vs. EVERYBODY Podcast, Mike chats with NY Jets Digital Reporter for Heavy.com Paul Esden Jr. about the Jets offseason, where he thinks they rank compared to the Dolphins heading into 2022, how many wins the Jets will have this year, as well as we talk about how this is a make-or-break season for both Tua and Zach Wilson. We also share talk about how both franchises like Adam Gase and why it's all Peyton Manning's fault, as well as what happened to Jets Super-Fan Fireman Ed (who FYI wore a Dolphins sweatshirt in his High School Yearbook photo). All of this and more on today's episode of the DOLPHINS vs. EVERYBODY Podcast.
