The same player isn't the same value on every platform. ESPN, Yahoo and Sleeper all price players differently, which means the guy you're reaching for in one league is a bargain in another. Kendall Valenzuela and Peter Overzet go position by position and platform by platform to find the biggest gaps between where each site's ADP has a player and where Kendall actually ranks him. Every value comes with the exact math: the positional ADP, Kendall's positional rank, the difference, and how many spots of overall value you're capturing. At quarterback it's Justin Herbert on ESPN, going as the QB14 at pick 106 despite ranking as a top-10 quarterback — a twenty-spot overall gap. Brock Purdy is the Yahoo answer, Trevor Lawrence the Sleeper one, and Caleb Williams and Joe Burrow show up in the top-five value lists too. Running back gets interesting because Kenneth Walker is the answer on both ESPN and Yahoo, but at meaningfully different prices, while Sleeper's ADP creates a much bigger opening on Rhamondre Stevenson. At receiver it's three different names entirely: Mike Evans on ESPN, Garrett Wilson on Yahoo, and Chris Godwin on Sleeper. Tight end is where it gets strange. Dalton Kincaid on ESPN and Mark Andrews on Yahoo are both positional values that come with negative overall value — meaning you're getting a good tight end at a bad total price, which is a trap worth understanding before you take one. Sleeper is the only platform where the math works cleanly. Each position also gets the full top-five value board for that platform, so you're not just walking away with one name. Find out which site you're drafting on and draft accordingly.

You can walk into a draft with a perfect plan. Targets identified, sleepers ranked, a strategy for every slot. And then three rounds in, none of it survives contact. Kendall Valenzuela, Peter Overzet and Dwain McFarland break down two real drafts from Draft Nation, pick by pick, including one where almost nothing went the way Dwain wanted it to. First up is the 16-round best ball draft where Dwain sat at pick 11 with Pete right ahead of him at 10 — which meant getting sniped repeatedly by the guy sitting next to him. They walk through every stage of the build: Ashton Jeanty, Kenneth Walker and Colston Loveland to start for Dwain against Jonathan Taylor, Chase Brown and Garrett Wilson for Pete. Then the middle rounds with Tetairoa McMillan, Quinshon Judkins, De'Zhaun Stribling, Jaylen Waddle, Mike Evans and Tyler Warren. Then KC Concepcion, Justin Herbert, Josh Downs, Rico Dowdle and Xavier Worthy, and finally the late-round swings on Brock Purdy, Mark Andrews, Adonai Mitchell, Jaydon Blue, Tre Harris and Keaton Mitchell. Then they switch formats entirely. Kendall and Pete recap a $350 high-stakes managed league, 20 rounds with a third-round reversal, and Pete explains exactly what changes when real money is on the line instead of best ball. Kendall opened Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Saquon Barkley, Rashee Rice, Tetairoa McMillan and Josh Jacobs from pick 7; Pete went Christian McCaffrey, Justin Jefferson, Trey McBride, Jameson Williams and D'Andre Swift from pick 11. The point isn't the specific picks. It's watching what an experienced drafter actually does in the moment when the board refuses to cooperate — which runs to chase, when to abandon a plan, and how to build something functional out of the pieces nobody else wanted.

The rankings debate is back, and one host just made a trade the internet is already roasting him for. On this episode of the Dynasty Nerds Podcast, Rich Dotson, Matt O'Hara, and Garret Price dig into the players where their boards split hardest.

Munaf Manji and Dave Essler talk betting for Wednesday. Munaf Manji and Dave Essler open their Wednesday, August 19 episode with a full betting agenda, running through a day baseball card before settling into five marquee night games and closing with a detailed look at the Baltimore Ravens win total for the coming NFL season. The show opens at 0:10 with a recap of Tuesday, where a best bet on the Astros fell short as the club managed only one run, while a late addition on the Blue Jays cashed after the market spent the afternoon leaning that direction. The Brewers also delivered a 22 run outburst on a first team total over, and both hosts agree the size of the margin does not change the value of the win. At 4:44 the focus shifts to the Yankees and Orioles, Will Warren opposing Chris Bassitt, where the hosts back the over behind a red hot Bassitt since returning from the injured list and a notable gap in Warren's ERA between day games and night games. At 7:47 the crew previews Logan Gilbert and the Mariners against Dustin May and the Brewers, leaning toward a first five under behind Gilbert's strong seasonal trend in that split and questions about whether Milwaukee's offense stays hot after its outburst the night before. At 10:52 the Nationals and Rangers get a look, Cade Cavalli opposing Kumar Rocker, with both hosts siding with Washington as an underdog given Rocker's recent decline and a soft feeling total that Manji suggests attacking through a Nationals team total over. At 13:34 the Astros and Angels close out the marquee card, Ethan Pecko making his first major league start for Houston against Walbert Urena and the Angels, with both hosts landing firmly on the Angels given the price attached to an unproven starter and Urena's strong personal history against this Astros lineup. Around 16:16 the guys touch on a handful of additional angles, including an under lean in Cincinnati between the Reds and Cardinals and a first five lean on Cleveland behind one of the more reliable arms on the schedule this season. At 18:10 the show pivots to football, and the hosts spend real time on Baltimore's win total of eleven and a half following an 8 and 9 season that kept the Ravens out of the playoffs. They discuss the arrival of new head coach Jesse Minter, the free agent addition of pass rusher Trey Hendrickson, and a schedule that both hosts believe sets up favorably through the middle of the season and into a division heavy closing stretch. Essler walks through the week by week matchups in detail, while Manji highlights Derrick Henry, Zay Flowers, and Mark Andrews as offensive pieces who could push the Ravens toward the higher end of their projected win range. Both hosts ultimately back the over on Baltimore, agreeing that a first year coaching staff typically buys the roster some patience regardless of immediate results. The episode closes with the day's best bets, a first five under between the Blue Jays and Rays built around a dominant WHIP from Tampa Bay's starter and a resurgent veteran arm for Toronto, and a Nationals team total over built around a Rangers starter who has struggled both at home and after dark in his recent outings. Pitts sets the market Detroit must face The Atlanta Falcons just changed the tight end economy. They signed Kyle Pitts to a three-year, $54 million extension with $36 million guaranteed. It is the richest three-year deal ever for an NFL tight end. That number immediately matters to the Detroit Lions and Sam LaPorta. Recent comps drive negotiations. The Detroit Lions Podcast digs into what this means. By annual average value, George Kittle and McBride sit at the top tier. Pitts now lands at $16 million per year. The next band is where Detroit will hunt comps for LaPorta: Isaiah Likely at three years and $40 million with $26 million guaranteed, Mark Andrews at roughly $13.9 million per year, Dalton Schultz at $12.6 million, and Cole Kmet at $12.5 million. As much as Detroit likes LaPorta, he has been roughly in that neighborhood with Kmet. Will he take that number to stay in Detroit? Expect him to aim higher after the Pitts deal. Usage and value in Detroit's offense Context matters. McBride earned heavy usage in Drew Petzing's system in Arizona. That led many to assume a similar spike for LaPorta under Petzing in Detroit. It could happen, but the situations are different. McBride was the best player on that offense. In Detroit, LaPorta is not even the third-best offensive piece. Jahmyr Gibbs and Penei Sewell are central pillars. Jameson Williams offers higher peak plays even if the week-to-week is still building. That distribution of talent can cap volume and, in turn, price. LaPorta brings real value beyond catches. His blocking stacks up well, better than Pitts in this discussion. Pitts also aligns outside as a receiver often, while LaPorta plays a more traditional tight end role. Those distinctions will surface in negotiations as both sides frame what they are paying for. Numbers, guarantees, and timing A practical floor sits around Likely's deal: three years, $40 million, $26 million guaranteed. A target from the player side could be three years, $50 million with $35 million guaranteed. A logical counter from the team lands near three years, $48 million at $16 million per year. With the Lions, guarantees are the meat. Expect creative structure with void years to spread cap hits. That is how Detroit handles these mid-length veteran deals. Health will guide the calendar. LaPorta is working back from the back injury that ended last season. He was on the field last week but not yet full go. The staff also wants Brian Branch healthy and contributing. If that holds, do not expect an immediate extension. Training camp will be the first checkpoint. A more natural window sits near the bye or toward the end of summer. September 21 feels like a soft boundary. By then, Detroit should know LaPorta's role and output in Petzing's offense. The hard choice no one wants One prevailing viewpoint around the league is that if Detroit must let someone walk among pending extension candidates, tight end is the easiest to replace. That argument has merit on roster-building grounds. Even so, the intent is to keep LaPorta. Pitts' new deal just sharpened the pencil.
